Décembre 2018. Après une Insomnie d'une Nuit d'Été en août et une Fantaisie concertante pour deux timbaliers, cordes et percussions en septembre, qui sont toujours en attente de report sous Dorico (j'hésite vraiment, parce que ça n'en vaut sans doute pas la peine, surtout pour l'Insomnie), j'étais tombé sur le tableau qui servirait plus tard de couverture à cette oeuvrette, et l'inspiration titillée me poussa vers des horizons d'une martialité relative. Et comme j'ai toujours été raisonnablement satisfait de cette Fantaisie, j'ai là aussi fait l'effort, en changeant de logiciel, d'effectuer une reprise. D'autant que la partition n'était pas du tout rétive à une conversion. (J'ai tendance à estimer que quand c'est mauvais, le passage de Musescore à Dorico est difficile, voire presque impossible. C'est un critère d'évaluation qui me convient assez. Les deux pièces susmentionnées résitent de toutes leurs forces, ce doit être un signe.)

Voyage by Starlight

Originally, this started as a simple, minimalist piano piece, but I started hearing more orchestral things with it and thought it would sound good fleshed out, so I expanded it for orchestra- the idea being to take a simple melody and use it multiple ways to create something more interesting. Sort of a minimalist approach to make a not-so-minimalist piece of music. :)
