I finally posted the first part of Kyojuro's backstory for the role swap AU! I had a lot of fun with it
Other installments: Shinobu & Kanae, Obanai, Mitsuri, Tengen, Sanemi, Tanjiro & Nezuko
When the blade turned red, Kyojuro let out a miserable breath of relief.
There was no reason his nichirin blade would have failed to change colors; many slayers already praised him for his skills, even though he had yet to go through the Final Selection. But still… it had been a fear he had been unable to completely chase away.
That he wasn’t good enough, just as his father always said, and the nichirin sword would merely reveal that for everyone else to see.
Except, it didn’t.
And now Kyojuro held a bright red sword.
“It’s so pretty!” Senjuro gasped. “Do you think mine will be red, too?”
Kyojuro smiled, glad his younger brother had too much faith in him to question its sincerity. “Maybe! We’ll have to see, won’t we?”
Senjuro beamed, and leaned against Kyojuro’s shoulder. “Father will be proud, don’t you think?”
Oh, Kyojuro desperately wished he would be, but he had very little faith in such a thing. The nichirin blade changing colors wouldn’t be enough, of that much he was certain. But perhaps passing the Final Selection would be enough proof. After all, only a few people came back alive from it every year…
Surely that would be enough. It had to be.
“Maybe…” he conceded once again, doing his best to make sure his smile didn’t fall. Senjuro was only eight, after all. He didn’t need to know about all of Kyojuro’s own doubts, not when he still had the innocent faith of a child in their parents, even after all Shinjuro had done.
Senjuro giggled. “Yeah! He will be! You’re so awesome, Aniue! You’re gonna be the best demon slayer ever!”
Kyojuro ruffled his hair. “I will certainly do my best!”
---
“You know… I will be leaving for the Final Selection tomorrow,” Kyojuro said that night at dinner. His sword had been made just in time for it. And while it was true many slayers didn’t receive their personal blade until after it, as someone who came from a powerful family line, and who had been trained with a sword from the moment he could walk, he was… a bit special.
That didn’t mean he didn’t want his father to express any type of concern for him. He just wanted to be told to be safe, to come home in one piece, that his father had faith in him to not just survive, but perform wonderfully.
Shinjuro propped an elbow on the table, his movements already stilted from the alcohol. “So what?”
Senjuro whimpered.
Kyojuro tried to swallow the lump in his throat. “I—I just mean—What if I—?”
“Don’t come back?” his father finished with an unimpressed look. “You won’t.”
He flinched, his chopsticks falling to clatter against the table.
“Father!” Senjuro exclaimed as his eyes glossed over with tears.
“What?” Shinjuro huffed. “Barely any students survive it every year, and your brother is absolutely nothing special. He won’t be leaving that damn mountain alive, and you’d do better to accept it now.”
“I will!” Kyojuro shouted. “I’ll survive, and I’ll become a fully fledged demon slayer! I have to, if I’m going to take your place as a Hashira!”
The harsh, mocking laughter that followed his declaration left Kyojuro wanting to crawl into a hole. He didn’t understand why his father’s disdain and lack of faith hurt so much; he’d been putting up with it for years now. Beyond that, logically, Kyojuro knew he was a brilliant swordsman, especially for his age. But…
“A Hashira?” Shinjuro shook his head and reached for the sake. “You really are an idealistic fool. Even if by some miracle you survive that mountain, you won’t make it to adulthood. You’ll be a demon’s meal by year’s end.”
Kyojuro opened his mouth, wanting to argue more, but a sharp glare from him and all he could do was whimper, “Yes, Father.”
He wouldn’t accept anything but total and absolute agreement after all.
If Shinjuro believed he would be dead soon, Kyojuro had no choice but to agree.
He was probably right anyways… He was right about few people surviving the Final Selection, and Kyojuro knew it was rare for a demon slayer to survive past their twenties. His father’s sudden and early retirement was probably the only reason he had.
Well, it didn’t matter. As long as he could protect someone, anyone, from the demons, it would be alright.
His father might be right. He might die soon. But if he could save even one person before then…
Kyojuro thought he would be okay with that.
---
Thirty-seven attended the Final Selection.
Kyojuro was the only one who clawed his way off that mountain.
He hadn’t been able to save a single one of them.
---
“Kyojuro!” Senjuro launched himself at him with tears in his eyes and the brightest grin on his face. “I knew you would come back! I knew it!”
Kyojuro’s entire body trembled as his little brother’s arms wrapped around him. Every muscle in his body ached, dirt and blood and sweat left his clothes stiff and dirty, and though his injuries had been wrapped after seven days on that mountain, they were far from healed. To say nothing of the exhaustion and hunger.
Physically, he had never felt more miserable in his life.
“Kyojuro…?” Senjuro peered up at him when he didn’t get a response, and his smile began to falter. “Are you alright?”
“Fine,” he assured Senjuro, though his voice was rough from thirst. “I’m okay. It was just… a hard battle.”
“Are you hurt?” Senjuro asked, his eyes going wide with worry.
“Yes, but nothing more than flesh wounds and a sprained wrist,” Kyojuro said. “I’ll recover in no time.”
“That’s good, at least!” Senjuro pulled back and threw his arms up, his smile returning in full force. “I bet you did amazing! You were the best slayer there, weren’t you?”
Kyojuro shoved his hand over his mouth, attempting to pass off the muffled sob as a cough.
Because he was the best demon slayer there, wasn’t he? He was the only one who had lived… that made him the best…
How miserable was that? Someone as pathetic as him was the only one who made it?
Was his father right after all…? Were they all just fighting a losing battle? Setting themselves up to be eaten…?
No, no, he couldn’t believe that! Just because he was the only one to survive this year, didn’t mean that would always be the case. It couldn’t be… It couldn’t be…
“I hope I can be as good of a slayer as you one day!” Senjuro continued. “I’ll pass the Final Selection, just like you did! Do you think we could both be Hashira?”
Kyojuro’s knees buckled, and he fell to the ground.
“Aniue!” Senjuro grabbed his shoulders. “I-I thought you said you weren’t hurt very bad!”
Kyojuro could do little more than stare at his brother as he shouted for help, his eyes blurring with tears.
His instructors had sent him to the Final Selection, his father had sent him to the Final Selection, fully expecting him to die. And he had no doubt that they would send Senjuro one day too.
The idea of Senjuro having to face that mountain, and the demons caged within it…
Nausea turned Kyojuro’s stomach, and acid bubbled up his throat.
He would not allow such a thing! He simply wouldn’t!
Kyojuro would become a powerful enough slayer for both of them, so that Senjuro would never have to face what he just had.
His mother had wanted him to protect others, and what use was that if he couldn’t even keep his little brother safe from the horrors of that mountain?
He had to keep him safe.
He had to.
No matter the cost.
---
“He has no skill with a blade, and his body is weak. There is no point in wasting time on a brat like that.”
Senjuro flinched and clung onto Kyojuro.
“I could have told you that before you wasted a year trying to teach him anything,” Shinjuro said. “The fact that Kyojuro has made it this long as a slayer is a goddamn miracle. Senjuro wasn’t going to make it at all!”
“Father!” Kyojuro protested. Despite the relief coursing through his entire body, that was needlessly cruel. While it was true that Senjuro just did not seem to have the natural instincts for swordsmanship, or a body that was easily trained, he had tried so hard, so desperately, this past year to learn the basics, now that Kyojuro no longer took up his old instructor’s time.
“It’s the truth,” Shinjuro said, his voice as harsh as ever as he turned and went back inside. “Quit wasting your time with him.”
“Maybe he could at least be a kakushi!” Kyojuro attempted. “The training for them is not nearly as brutal and—”
“I said quit wasting your time with something as useless as him!” Shinjuro snapped over his shoulder.
The instructor did not come back after that.
Kyojuro had never been more grateful.
---
“I just wanted to be like you…” Senjuro cried that night. “I wanted to be a good demon slayer who saves people. Why couldn’t—” He sniffled. “He won’t even let me keep trying?”
Kyojuro softly pet his little brother’s hair as he curled against him. “Father just… Sometimes he makes decisions like this. But you shouldn’t want to be a demon slayer, just because I am one.”
At nine years old, he knew his brother just wouldn’t understand how wonderful this was for him. The Rengokus had been training their children to be slayers since the Corps had been founded three centuries ago. And Senjuro had been freed from that. He would not be expected to lay down his life, to suffer and hurt and see terrible, awful things, all for people he didn’t even know.
“Well why do you want to be a demon slayer?” Senjuro asked, and though the tears didn’t stop, they fell silent.
“I… It is expected of me,” he said simply. “Our family has served the Corps since it was founded, so I was born to be a slayer. It is… all I can do. And Mother—Mother always wanted me to help others, wanted me to protect them. I can do that as a slayer.”
“But… you don’t want to be a slayer?” Senjuro asked, his eyes going wide.
“No, I do!” Kyojuro hurried to assure him. “I do! I want to do what Mother asked of me!”
“But there are ways to help people without being a demon slayer,” Senjuro said. “Right?
“I… Senjuro… Listen to me.” Kyojuro took his brother’s shoulders, nudging him back and straightening him up. “All I know is how to fight. Father had me training with a blade by the time you were even born. I am good for nothing else except protecting people with that blade. There is nothing wrong with that, but I am also nothing special. If you want to help people as well, you can do it without being a slayer. You have choices.”
“But who’s going to protect you…?” Senjuro whimpered. “Who’s going to keep you safe? I wanted to help you.”
“You don’t need to worry about something like that,” Kyojuro assured him. “You’ll get everything figured out, I promise. And you don’t need to be a swordsman.”
“Do you think it would be impossible for me, too?” Senjuro asked with wide eyes. “That I could never learn how?”
Kyojuro took a deep breath. “I think… I think that with time and practice, nothing is impossible. You could learn, just like anyone could learn. But… you do not seem to have an innate talent for it. That is alright! But learning would be very hard and time consuming.”
“Oh…” Senjuro rubbed at his eyes, as if that would halt the miserable crying. “Okay.”
“You will find something else that makes you happy,” Kyojuro promised him. “Something you enjoy, that you can use to help others too. I know you will.”
And he would be safe, which was the most important thing.
“Will you…” Senjuro shifted to stare down at the floor. “Will you still teach me? When you can?”
“Me?”
Slowly, Senjuro nodded. “You’re the best swordsman I know… I know you can’t be here a lot because of being a slayer, but when you are—when you are, could you teach me things? Even if it’s hard, I still want to learn. So I can help you, if I ever need to.”
Despite it all, Kyojuro couldn’t find it in himself to deny such a request. “I will do my best.”
---
Kyojuro found himself at home only one or two days a month, if he was lucky. The Corps worked him to the bone, but… it was to be expected. He’d known that would happen the moment he passed the Final Selection. Slayers were spread thin enough as it was, and given his heritage and prestigious training, Kyojuro was not allowed the luxury of breaks.
He was rising through the ranks terrifyingly quickly, and he knew it was only a matter of time before he would be required to work more intimately with the Kibutsuji family who ran the Corps. It was… unnerving to consider.
He had heard many things about the Kibutsujis, and he had seen the punishments that resulted when they were displeased with a slayer’s performance.
But then… such rigidness was to be expected in this line of work. If a slayer could not fulfill the duties demanded of them in such a high stakes job, they needed to be reprimanded.
Kyojuro did not think such brutal punishments were warranted, but the concept made sense he supposed…
Still… He knew he had caught their eye, and soon, he would be permitted to visit his home, and more importantly, Senjuro, even less than he was currently.
As such, he had made it a point to come home as often as he could now, knowing it would not be long before he could probably only visit once or twice a year given his duties. And if he really did claw his way to the rank of Hashira…
He hoped Senjuro would understand.
---
“Here. Hold your sword like this.” Kyojuro took Senjuro’s hand and adjusted his grip, sliding it up the hilt of the sword. “Your movements will be more precise.”
“Oh. Oh, right.” Senjuro sighed in frustration. “You’ve told me that before. Sorry, I keep forgetting.”
“It’s quite alright!” Kyojuro assured him. “You’ve got plenty of time to learn, and it will become muscle memory with practice. You won’t even have to think about how you're gripping your sword.”
“I hope so…” Senjuro’s nose scrunched up as he scrutinized the practice sword in his hands, as if he could think his way to understanding swordsmanship, rather than practice. “How are you so good at this? I don’t remember you struggling so much.”
“I just got lucky enough to have an innate talent for it. I still very much had to practice, it just came a bit easier to me,” he said. “But the same could be said for things you’re good at with much more ease than me. Now come on, I’ll have to head out in a few more hours again. Would you like to practice some more, or perhaps make dinner together?”
Senjuro hummed. “I’m not going to improve in just a couple hours. Can I make dinner for you before you have to leave again?”
Kyojuro smiled and ruffled his hair. “Sure! I’ll be in right behind you to help out!” Because while it was true Senjuro had to feed himself in Kyojuro’s absence due to their father’s total and complete lack of care, he was still only nine years old, and so long as he was around, Kyojuro’s little brother would not be expected to cook a meal all by himself, even if he insisted.
Senjuro returned his smile and hurried inside, already muttering about what exactly he was going to make. Kyojuro was about to follow after him, when a harsh voice had him freezing in his tracks.
“You are doing him no favors, indulging in this bullshit.”
Kyojuro’s shoulders slumped, but he managed to keep the smile plastered across his face as he turned to face his father. “He asked to learn, so I am teaching him in my spare time! It’d be best if he knew some self defense, right, Father?”
Shinjuro’s scowl twisted further. “I told his trainers not to bother for a reason.”
“Yes well, even if he doesn’t become a slayer, then—”
“The Corps won’t want you wasting time with a useless brat like him. You’ll be expected to train a proper tsuguko, or have an heir of your own,” he said.
“That’s no reason not to work with Senjuro!” Kyojuro insisted. “I can do both! I can—”
“You’re going to get him killed,” Shinjuro spit. “Just like you’re going to get yourself killed!”
Kyojuro sighed, long since used to Shinjuro’s predictions for his future, and though they didn’t necessarily hurt any less, it had become a dull, easily ignored pain, rather than something that still cut harsh and deep. Although… it was strange today that his words were not slurred by any alcohol, nor were his steps unsteady. Come to think of it… Kyojuro wasn’t sure if he’d actually seen him drink since he’d come home for his visit last night.
Perhaps that meant his father was getting back to his old self!
“Why?” Shinjuro continued, his words somehow seeming even harsher now that Kyojuro had realized that, for the first time in a long time that he had seen, his father was completely sober. “Because he cried? Because you felt bad for him? Because you didn’t want him to feel useless?”
“Father, stop—!”
“You won’t ever change anything about him or how pointless it all is. He’s going to end up throwing his life away in the exact same damn way you do,” Shinjuro snarled, his words laced with a harsher vitriol than normal. “Stop.”
To this day, despite the monsters he’d faced, and everything he’d gone through, Kyojuro couldn’t help but cower beneath his father’s smothering glare, miserable words, and the potential blows that might come if he pushed his luck or Shinjuro was in a particularly foul mood. But when he turned his attention to Senjuro rather than himself…
The fear would abate.
Kyojuro raised his chin. “I will continue to teach Senjuro so long as he still wants to be taught, regardless of what you say! Just because you think there is no point, doesn’t make it true.”
“You’ll drag him down with you,” Shinjuro said.
Kyojuro took a deep breath, and forced his usual smile back onto his face. “It’s nice seeing you up and about, Father! We’re going to make dinner, if you’d like to join us when it’s ready.”
Shinjuro did not join them.
---
“The loss of your eye is a shame. How long are you expecting your rehabilitation training to take?”
“Not long at all!” Kyojuro said, and despite how hard he tried, he could not force his usual smile. But then, meeting with any Kibutsuji often had that effect on him. And the current head of the Kibutsuji family left him even more on edge than the rest of the family did.
He wondered why the head of the family bothered with him at all.
Kibutusji nodded. “Good. I’d hate for this to get in the way of you becoming a Hashira.”
Kyojuro sucked in a sharp breath, causing the tea he’d been offered to go down wrong, and he bit his tongue to keep from coughing his lungs up in front of Kibutsuji, though that did nothing to stop his eye from watering. “H-Huh?” he managed to choke.
Kibutusji raised an eyebrow. “You were aware we had been considering it since the Water Hashira died a few weeks back, and since your father’s—” he grimaced “—retirement, we’ve been waiting for you to be ready to take the mantle of Flame Hashira. I think you’ve more than proven yourself by now, and as you finish up your rehabilitation training, you’ll be promoted.”
Kyojuro blinked, and felt his smile become genuine. “Really?”
Kibutsuji sighed. “Do I need to repeat myself?”
“N-No!” Kyojuro shook his head. “No, of course not! I am honored, Master Kibutsuji! I will make you proud!”
Kibutuji grimaced. “I don’t care if you make me proud. I care that you do your job.”
Kyojuro swallowed thickly and ducked his head as a slight heat tinged his cheeks. “Ah, of course, Master Kibutsuji…”
“Great. I’ll get things in order for your promotion, and I expect you to take on the responsibilities of a Hashira by the end of the month,” he said.
“Yes, sir! Um… but I do have to ask, how often will I be allowed to visit home?”
“Rarely,” Kibutuji said. “As you should know. Why does it matter?”
“Well!” Kyojuro straightened up, doing his best not to squirm beneath the piercing pink gaze of Kibutsuji. “My little brother is very important to me, and I enjoy visiting with him—”
“Demons are out murdering and devouring people while you are visiting with your brother for your own enjoyment,” Kibutsuji interrupted.
“Well, yes…” Kyojuro resisted the urge to reach up and tug at the collar of his uniform. “But I am also training him—”
Kibutsuji frowned. “I wasn’t aware you were training him. You intend to make him your tsuguko?”
“Oh! No!” Kyojuro shook his head. “I do not think that is the best future for Senjuro, but he is important to me, and I would appreciate it if my already limited time with him didn’t dwindle further.”
“I’ll see what I can do,” Kibutsuji said.
Kyojuro beamed. “Thank you, Master Kibutsuji!”
Maybe the Kibutsujis weren’t as bad as everyone made them out to be.
---
The nichirin blade was almost comically large in Senjuro’s hands. It didn’t help that he curled in on himself, nor the fact that tears glossed over his eyes.
It didn’t change color. Of course it didn’t change color. The damned brat was useless with a blade, and even if he had some damned skill, he was still only ten years old. He had not been gifted this blade because the Corps thought he would use it, and the shoddy workmanship proved it.
“Father,” Senjuro whimpered. “Please! Please don’t make me go! I don’t wanna go!”
“You don’t have a choice,” Shinjuro slurred before gulping down another mouthful of sake. He was already on his second bottle, but he didn’t want to remember tonight. He didn’t want to remember the last time he ever looked at Senjuro.
The tears transformed into full blown sobs, so intense Senjuro’s entire body began to tremble. “Father! Please!”
Shinjuro slumped across the table, and wished the slayers would just take his son and go. Because he couldn’t do anything to stop this. He was useless, powerless, just like he’d always been. Just like he tried telling Kyojuro, but he hadn’t listened. He wanted Senjuro gone. He wanted this over. Because Senjuro wouldn’t even last the first night of Final Selection. This was the last time Shinjuro would ever see him, and he wanted this over.
He could do nothing to save him, so why couldn’t it just end?
Someone had likely found out Kyojuro was wasting his time trying to train Senjuro, and Kibutsuji found out. So either Senjuro needed to prove he was worth the time and effort, or be gotten rid of. Throwing him into the Final Selection was the perfect way to do that. Either he’d survive, or he wouldn’t, and either way, the problem was solved.
It didn’t matter that he was only ten, that his only training was the miniscule amount Kyojuro could manage when the Corps was not working him to the bone. The Corps was not sending Senjuro to that mountain to make a slayer out of him.
They were sending him to that mountain to make a slayer out of Kyojuro.
“Let’s go, brat,” the slayer who had delivered Senjuro’s sword said. “We need to be there by morning.”
“No!” Senjuro cried. “No, no, no! I don’t wanna die! Father! Father!” His hands grasped for Shinjuro’s shoulders, and he realized he couldn’t remember the last time Senjuro had actually touched him.
He roughly shrugged him off.
“Father, please!” Senjuro begged, and the scuffling of shoes could be heard as the slayer presumably dragged him away. “I’m scared! I’m scared and I don’t wanna die! Father! Please don’t let them take me!”
Shinjuro squeezed his eyes shut, fighting back the burning tears that threatened to spill over. The only thing that grounded him was the sake bottle in his hand.
Senjuro’s begging morphed into something unintelligible as the slayers grew tired of the charade and easily forced him outside, forced him to the Final Selection.
Shinjuro had quit because the fight was a useless one, and he would never contribute to it in any meaningful way.
But if he’d stayed a Hashira… even if that meant he’d be dead now, too…
Would this have happened to Senjuro?
Shinjuro drank until the miserable thoughts faded. He drank until he couldn’t think straight.
But no matter how much he drank, he couldn’t forget Senjuro’s wailing cries.
---
Kyojuro swaggered up the road leading to the estate, an excited smile on his face. Surely his father would be happy with this. Surely Shinjuro would finally be proud of him, now that he’d managed to earn the rank of Hashira, at only sixteen and with one eye at that! And Senjuro! Senjuro would be so happy, and Kyojuro couldn’t wait to see him smile as he told him the news.
Although… it was strange that Senjuro had not come out to greet Kyojuro, especially considering he had sent a crow on ahead. He should have come running down the road already and wrapped him in a soft hug that Kyojuro would relish, seeing as it’d be the first soft physical touch he’d received since the last time he’d come home.
But still, it was probably fine. Maybe he’d gotten caught up with some chores. Or—Or maybe he’d finally made a friend! Senjuro deserved some good friends…
“Senjuro!” he called as he opened the door. “Father! I’m home!”
Silence greeted him. No patter of excited feet, or even a sharp remark from his father.
Kyojuro frowned and walked through the house, ducking into each room in search of his brother. Perhaps he’d run into town for some errands…?
Though Kyojuro did sigh when he found his father slumped over the table, with an ungodly amount of sake bottles around him.
“Father?” Kyojuro crept closer. “Would you like some help getting to your room?”
Shinjuro grunted and cracked a groggy eye open, which was more of a response than Kyojuro had expected, so he took that as an invitation to kneel down next to him.
“Do you know where Senjuro’s at?” he asked. “I can’t find him anywhere.”
A miserable sniffle escaped his father, and a great pit opened in Kyojuro’s stomach. “Father…?”
“Gone,” Shinjuro slurred, and the words were obviously meant to have some bite, but they just sounded rather pitiful. “Stupid brat’s—brat’s gone.”
“Gone?” Ice raced through Kyojuro’s bones, despite how desperately he tried to ignore it. “What do you mean, gone? Where’s he gone? When will he be back?”
Shinjuro flopped against Kyojuro with a grating laugh. “He’s dead!” he howled. “Be de-dead by now!”
“That’s not—” Kyojuro’s chest constricted. “That’s not funny! Father! Where is he?” If something had actually happened to Senjuro, Kyojuro would have been informed. He would know. And—And besides! Nothing would happen to Senjuro. He was safe here, and nothing could happen to him, because what would Kyojuro do without him?
Shinjuro attempted to push himself up, but the movements were uncoordinated and sloppy and he ended up flopping back across the table instead. While he was tipsy more often than not, it had been a long time since Kyojuro had seen him this drunk. Not since he was so much younger, right after his mother had—after she had—
Surely Senjuro couldn’t be dead. Kyojuro refused to accept that!
“Final Selection!” Shinjuro shouted. “Took him to—” Another sniffle. “Corps took him to Final Selection!”
Kyojuro shook his head as the fear coiling inside him reached an unbearable level. That couldn’t be right. It wasn’t right. “You’re lying!”
He’d never dared to speak to his father in such a way before, but how could he not now? That didn’t make any damn sense! Senjuro was only ten! Yes, the Corps was strict, and perhaps brutal to a fault, but Corps regulation stated that someone needed to be at least thirteen, or given a trainer’s blessing, to go through Final Selection. After all, what use was there in potential slayers being cut down because they were forced into it too early? And Senjuro had certainly not been given any type of blessing! So why? Why would he even be forced to attend Final Selection?
Why would their father just let that happen? For Senjuro, such a thing would be a death sentence.
“He’s dead!” Shinjuro practically wailed. “He’s dead, and you’ll be next! We’re all fucking dead!”
Kyojuro shook his head and forced himself up on shaky legs. “Please tell me you’re lying…”
But Senjuro was not here, and while Shinjuro had small spirals from time to time, there had been nothing like this before. He was crying, not taking his hurt out on Kyojuro, and that was not normal behavior for him.
Why would the Corps do this? Why not tell Kyojuro?
He stumbled backwards, away from his father, from his hopelessness. He didn’t even think to accuse Shinjuro of letting them take Senjuro for the Final Selection.
Kyojuro just ran.
The Final Selection had only started a day ago, and the mountain was close enough Kyojuro could be there by tomorrow night. Senjuro only had to hold on that long. Surely… Surely he could—
If Senjuro died, Kyojuro would never forgive himself.
So he ran.

Yes. Though Kyojuro wants him to quit the corps, his father is just an asshole. Sanemi and his dad core 🎀
So for the mugen train arc, yes, Kyojuro still dies and Senjuro believes that his brother died disappointed in him(SPOILERS) until it's revealed during the final battle (near death experience for Senjuro) When Kyojuro's ghost appears, telling him to finish the battle with the strength of the Rengoku clan.
I'm still debating whether Senjuro lives or dies in this AU but that's just me :P
KNY SWAP AU except swap the Shinazugawa brothers with the Rengoku brothers
We get healthy Shinazugawa brothers content but at what cost?
Kyojuro actively putting down Senjuro in the same way Sanemi does to Genya in canon
Genya uses stone breathing, and Senjuro eats demons.
You know that one scene where Sanemi goes to poke Genya's eyes? Yeah, imagine that with Kyojuro and Senjuro.
They still keep their same backstories, except Sanemi has to explain to Genya why their mother had to die while Kyojuro is trying to get Senjuro to leave the corps because he's "talentless".
More Senjuro content because he's precious, and he reminds me of my little sister.

This is my take on the AU "KAMABOKO and HASHIRA swap" !!
In this au nezuko is 20 years old and is the blood hashira. she is still a demon here as she became one a few months before becoming a hashira. They didn't kill her as tanjiro begged them not to, ever since than nezuko has fought along side the demon Slayer core as a demon and a member.
she has a tsugoku named kanroji mitsuri. mitsuri is 14 (almost 15) and joined the demon Slayer core at 13 due to her family being poor and needing money(I will explain this more one day lol)
The other hashira are
Tanjiro : sun pillar
Kanao : flower pillar
Inosuke : beast pillar
Zenitzu : rumble pillar
Muichiro : mist pillar
Genya : demon pillar
Aoi : water pillar
Senjuro : flame pillar
Bye!!

Kny Swap Au Ramblings P3
I've seen a lot of others make their own versions of a swap au and I wanted to create one too just for fun. None of this is cannon, and not everyone will be swapped out and it'll have my own twists on things. And have some things added for new story elements.
Most of the role swaps I've seen are usually with either Sanemi and Genya or Gyutaro and Ume replacing Nezuko and Tanjiro. Or the rolls are swapped with Tanjiro being the demon instead. But for this I'm swapping out the Kamado Siblings for the Tokito Twins. I won't go into depth about everyone but I will give important differences to the story.
@lavenderdrxp
WARNINGS: Mentioning of killing, death, regular demon slayer content, etc. Mentioning of neglect, abuse, and alcoholism in Senjuro's segment.
EDIT: If you don't agree with any of the placements or head cannons that's fine. This is only my take on things.
The last segment of the swap au. Featuring the Swap Kamaboko squad which includes more than the regular members.
KAMADO SIBLINGS:
Honestly not a lot of their story changes and ultimately it IS Tanjiro who ends up defeating Demon Kagaya in the end with his Sun Breathing technique as he does in cannon with Cannon Muzan. In fact the only real major difference is just the demons he kills and who introduces him to Urokodaki. As in cannon Tanjiro returns home to have found his family to be slaughtered by a random demon, with the only survivors being himself and Nezuko.
However Nezuko rather than absorb demonic blood is only severely injured and on the verge of death from the attack. Coming down the mountain with a severely injured and dying Nezuko, Tanjiro runs into Akaza who had been sent to slay a demon in the area only realizing that it was much too late. Taking pity upon the siblings, and because Tanjiro reminds him of his own situation with Koyuki, he rushed both siblings to the nearest doctor down the mountain. Thankfully she does indeed survive but has lasting scars. Understandably both are absolutely traumatized by the murder of their family and demand answers from Akaza who explains demons and the existence of the corps. In the events following the incident, both siblings want to avenge their fallen family and Akaza who symphysis with them agrees to send Tanjiro to his old master Urokodaki and personally transport Nezuko to the Butterfly Mansion as she's still recovering from her severe injuries and in no state (yet-) to be trained by anyone. Tanjiro's progression with Urokodaki is same as in cannon.
(Cannonically it's two years after Nezuko becomes a demon before he starts really slaying demons so I'll fast forward to Nezuko's final selection.) Tanjiro's own journey aside- Nezuko is able to heal enough to start her own training however with the injuries her body sustained from the first attack it would be rather difficult for her to exceed in the usual training. Water Breathing helped a lot as water breathing is usually moldable to her different forms and continues to use it through her final selection. During her training with Urokodaki she meets Muichiro as Douma had already sent himself and Yuichiro to the old man explaining the bizarre situation. Both are the same age and both have families ravaged by demons. At first Nezuko is absolutely appalled at the existence of Yuichiro, but eventually it grows on her and the two become close friends. Tanjiro understandably is reluctant at first but as he's a good person deep down, he too accepts Yuichiro and often sticks close to Nezuko on missions. A lot of the time both Muichiro and himself would be paired up on missions as well.
When Nezuko Expressed her difficulties with her breathing style, Tanjiro tried teaching her his Sun Breathing technique but sadly her body is unable to accommodate to strength based breathing. Nezuko continues to use Water Breathing despite some difficulties until she's able to form her own form of breathing style derived from the Flower Breathing techniques that Kanao and Aoi had taught her during her recovery time with them, known as Flora Breathing which consists of five forms-
FLORA BREATHING:
Flora Breathing is derived from Flower Breathing and is a slightly faster version allowing its user to use their stamina and speed rather than flexibility or strength. It was created by Nezuko after Tanjiro asked Kanao and Aoi to teach her Flower Breathing as she couldn't master any Sun Breathing techniques and the injuries her body sustained made it difficult to try for most other breathing styles which were mostly strength or flexibility based. They agreed and after some effort, Nezuko was able to adapt a style catered to her own strengths.
First Form Curled Petal Slash:
The user speeds forward to make a fake forward slash to fool the target before leaping up and slashing down to deliver a back slash along the back in a half cartwheel motion to slash the head clean in half allowing the user time to deliver a second slash to the neck completely severing the head.
Second Form Thorn Impaltion:
The user blocks attacks as they rush their opponents at great speeds, and the thrust forwards allowing the momentum of the speed to impale and/or launch the opponent backwards allowing an opening to go in for the head.
Third Form Invisible Vine Whip:
The user makes multiple fast forward slashes invisible to the naked eye, but the damage is revealed when hit.
Fourth Form Forgotten Frolic:
The user makes a slash to their opponent generating enough speed to disappear from their line of sight, only to reappear behind them and deliver a second devastating blow.
Fifth (And Final) Form Flora Frenzy:
The user uses the adrenaline and speed of their bodies to generate multiple slashes in a continuous frenzy that cut down their opponents body to pieces before dashing forward the heavily cut opponent to deliver a final blow driven by the momentum, speed, and weight of the sword in a similar fashion to thunderclap and flash from Thunder Breathing.
As she's not as powerful as Tanjiro or as flexible as Cannon Mitsuri especially thanks to her previously sustained injuries, Nezuko has trained hard to allow her body to build up an inhuman amount of stamina and speed she relies on for attacks. This can backfire if her rapid breathing is interrupted or she runs out of stamina which is why she is usually paired with a partner on missions. Her demon slayer marks are the same as her cannon selves demon crest. Actually somehow became friends with Ume during her stay at the mansion.
AOI AND KANAO:
Going based on the fact Aoi is a member of the corps and just chose to stay behind to help run the butterfly mansion. Aoi learnt her Flower Breathing alongside Kanao by Kanae before the eldest butterfly sister's disappearance under mysterious circumstances. Shinobu took over for a while and everything progressed for a time as in cannon including teaching a young Gyutaro Insect Breathing as a favor to the young struggling boy. However around the time of Tanjiro's final selection, Shinobu also mysteriously disappeared under strange circumstances. Since then Doctor Enmu has taken over research and development of the corps's experiments, and the hospital run inside the Butterfly Estate.
Aoi is absolutely NOT a fan of Enmu and hates when she's forced to go on missions ordered by Muzan. Thankfully she doesn't get sent on missions often and only if another slayer needs back up. Otherwise Aoi is really the glue holding together the mansion and takes over most of the duties of taking care of the patients. She's the unofficial babysitter for Ume and somehow managed to scare her into acting like a decent person instead of a spoiled child. Has also grown fond of Nezuko during her stay with them and training.
Not much changes about Kanao either. She and Tanjiro's relationship progresses as cannon, and she helps Tanjiro not become the next Demon King. The only differences is that she is traumatized about having to fight her sisters during the final battle against Kagaya after helping Inosuke and Douma take down Gyomei before moving on to clash with Upper Moon One Yoriichi.
GENYA:
Genya doesn't have a good understanding of what happened to him. Sanemi was changed a few years after their family's death by Kagaya as a 'merciful act of kindness' from the demon and he attempted to change Genya however once and a while Kagaya has trouble changing someone into a demon (a side effect from the medicine he took long ago and another reason why he's so desperate to find the blue spider lily), and as a result Genya was only partially affected. No he didn't become a demon at all. In fact his body rejected the botched blood transfusion and he ended up throwing up most of it. Kagaya was severely confused by the outcome expecting him to either die or change to 'be with his beloved brother forever', in the confusion Genya was able to escape given the opening and has been on the run since.
He's not a demon, but has inadvertently gained the ability to temporarily become a demon and often craves their flesh as a result of the botched transformation. He doesn't crave human flesh surprisingly, but prefers to keep his distance from others in case only talking when absolutely needed.
He's insecure about his inability to use a breathing technique and struggled a lot to get accepted into final selection because of that. He really only got permission to do final selection because of his brother's previous position as a powerful Haishira. Only Genya (and later the Kamado Siblings and Muichiro after he opens up to them) know about his missing brother's transition into Upper Moon Three. He absolutely HATED Yuichiro and Muichiro at first, but seeing the twins has given him hope that a cure actually exists so himself and possibly Sanemi might return to their normal lives.
(May or may not have a tiny crush on Nezuko-)
Zenitsu:
Pretty much same as cannon. However he soon becomes a better person through his interactions with Nezuko who's not afraid to give him the reality checks he needs, much like Sekido with Kaigaku. Only difference is that Nezuko won't yeet Zenitsu out the nearest window like a certain hothead thunder breathing Haishira. Becomes a better genuine person slowly but is still a bit clingy and complains about things. It's a slow process but he's getting there.
INOSUKE:
As with Zenitsu not a lot of his personality or backstory changes. In fact he is the one with the least amount of changes to his story. Only replacing Gyomei in Douma's place who had done the same heinous acts. His story progresses the exact same other than that one change and trying to pick a fight with Nezuko to which Zenitsu and him got into a physical fight. (Inosuke won but Tanjiro stopped it before it could go any further-)
Senjuro:
A lot of people like to have him as a slayer in most swap au but actually I think he'd like a peaceful life better.
Kyojuro was forcibly changed by Tengen a long time ago when Kyojuro first just started out as a slayer. The shock was a big blow to their family reputation and too Shinjuro who just ended up taking his grief out on both alcohol and neglect directed to Senjuro. After a year or two, he had enough of Shinjuro's behavior and one day snapped. Waking his father over the head with a broom handle shocking them both but nothing could've shocked the retired Haishira more than the absolute tirade that came out of Senjuro's mouth. All the years of putting up with him and his insults and his terrible actions towards both him and his now deceased brother finally reaching a boiling point where he just .. snapped. As to quote Bambi 2-
"I WISH MOTHER WAS HERE INSTEAD OF YOU!!"
The blow back, realization, and horror was the slap in the face he needed but by then it was too late. Senjuro ended any relationship with him and stormed out of the house and away from their home leaving him all alone. Shinobu ended up feeling bad for Senjuro and taking him into the Butterfly Mansion as an assistant after Aoi found him crying and wondering around. He's a good helper very grateful towards Shinobu and was really sad when she went missing and declared dead later. His life is much more peaceful under Aoi's supervision and is learning a lot about medicine. He likes it when Nezuko and Tanjiro visits and he likes talking to them a lot. Once and a while he gets a small message from Shinjuro but he either ignores it or it's intercepted by Aoi who tosses it away without telling him.
When Senjuro is an adult married and with his own child does he try to have Shinjuro back in his life. It's very rocky but Shinjuro is trying despite his son's reluctance.
MUICHIRO AND YUICHIRO:
The swap demons of the au. Nothing about their backstory gets changed up to the point the demon stumbles into their home. Yuichiro was used to treating Rei with distain and treating Muichiro as he does in cannon, so Muichiro feels pretty useless about himself. On the night in question, Muichiro decides to do something about his brother's constant jabs and show him how 'useless' he really wasn't. So he wonders out one night as soon as Yuichiro gets into bed to secretly start gathering wood in the nearby woods next to their house. As he was walking back to their home he encountered the most gruesome sight.
Yuichiro bloodied and lying facedown on the floor. The house a complete mess. Blood smeared everywhere. And in the middle of it all was a man smiling as wickedly as sin. Lifting Yuichiro by the neck and bringing the boy closer to his maw. To devour. Eat. Digest. A scream exited from Muichiro's throat. Enough to wake the dead as the demon reached for him-
Vision red as blood. Vengeance and justice by hands of the innocent.
When Muichiro came to hours later still early enough in the morning to be dark to the demon's body impaled and smashed gurgling on it's own blood. Numb, tired, and mind mostly a blank as he just follows on autopilot back to the bloody home. Opening the door and finding his brother standing up body covered in blood and feasting on leftover raw deer meat they had stored away. However as he saw his brother Yuichiro snapped. Turning on him and launching at his weary brother. For he was no longer a human.
Yuichiro had joined the ranks of demons.
Muichiro wasn't sure himself what had happened. One moment Yuichiro was clawing and biting at his arms, and the next he's hissing and growling brother was pinned underneath him clawing to get away with Muichiro holding him down from above. And then it happens. Muichiro cries. His tears falling into the open eyes of his brothers stinging him and making him blink back up to Muichiro. His crying face and eye penetrating his eyes and as they say, eyes are windows to the soul. And all at once things seem to calm down. Yuichiro stops doing anything. Only lying there quietly and staring at his tired brother who is just crying, and crying and crying. His tears constantly falling into Yuichiro's own wide open eyes and all over his face. It might've only been ten minutes. It might've been an hour. But sometime he passed out and woken up to Yuichiro just sitting there and staring at him. Giving a couple sounds and poking his forehead over and over with an annoyed look on his face. It was daytime and for some reason all the windows and doors were closed and blocked off not allowing any light in. Muichiro is confused but didn't forget the events of last night. In fact if it was for the fact that their home was literally torn to shreds and blood stains were everywhere, it would've only been written off as a bad dream.
Yuichiro was not himself..And yet still acted like himself to an extent. He was still treating him with a scowl on his face and the annoyed jabs he'd usually give. Only he didn't act.. human. After Muichiro woke up he scuttled off to the darkest corner of the house where he curled up under a table as if that would shield himself further from.. something. There's not really much time to take anything in before the door is opened harshly and a complete stranger is invading their home. Muichiro freezes and Yuichiro hisses at the addition of more light suddenly being allowed in. The stranger hums as rainbow eyes look around the torn home surveying he damage and then taking in Muichiro sitting there bloodied and wide eyed.
"Oh goody! You're still alive! That's wonderful! My mistress was so worried about the rumors of the demon in the area and wanted me to check on you! By the looks of it, you survived quite a turbulent night...Or at least one of you did."
Rainbow eyes looked around the room and landed on Yuichiro hissing just a few yards away.
"How tragic. Mistress Rei will certainly be sad to hear about this. Oh well." A flair of a sharp golden fan filled the space. "I'll be sure to make his journey to death as quick and painless as possible to make up for it."
This stranger is big and strong, and doesn't even flinch when Muichiro flies at him the moment he makes a threatening step towards his growling brother. In fact the stranger has no problem picking up Muichiro with one hand and tossing him aside like nothing- Until he's rammed square in the chest hard enough to sent flying back out the door. And for a few seconds the stranger is stunned and lying sprawled across the ground until he just casually gets up and dusts himself off like it was nothing. However he paused when he looks back inside, and blinks as he sees THE DEMON holding Muichiro and hissing at the stranger..
...Well this was interesting wasn't it?
His curiosity is peaked and so instead of just slaying the demon and walking away to go on his own way as usual, he decides to ask about the interesting situation to Muichiro who explains as best as he could with Yuichiro holding him away from the open doorway and hissing at the stranger, who explains who he was and reveals himself to be a slayer by the name of Douma. In the end Douma decides not to kill Yuichiro and instead refers Muichiro to his old teacher Urokodaki because this situation reminds him a bit of Gyutaro and Daki...but mostly because he's curious about what could happen to a good demon if he doesn't kill it. Also he's a demon Slayer. He's supposed to help the good guys right?
... Despite Douma's questionable reasons for letting them live, Muichiro takes this chance given to him in stride as he really doesn't have any other choice. Douma has already sent a message already by crow. Most of Muichiro's and Yuichiro's progress is the same as Nezuko's and Tanjiro's. Urokodaki manages to convince Yuichiro that humans are good, and trains Muichiro in water breathing as he had done with Tanjiro prior. During this time Muichiro ends up meeting and training with Nezuko who later becomes good friends with both twins, and he learns his Mist Breathing derived from Water Breathing. They end up meeting Tamayo much later in the timeline after Tanjiro and himself happen to be in the same area during a mission. His demon slayer mark is same as cannon.
Demon Yuichiro is like Cannon Demon Nezuko in many ways because I didn't want to stray or change too much of cannon. However there ARE some differences. Muichiro made Yuichiro a muzzle made out of thick wood instead of bamboo and has no trouble hauling him around from the get go due to being used to hauling around heavy wood all the time.
I don't know what they're called but Yuichiro's demon crest are those yellow leaves he's always seen with. The same ones in the artwork linked below-
His abilities as a demon are similar to Nezuko's as he sleeps to regenerate and regain strength, can manipulate his blood a certain way, and has a similar fighting style using his claws and body to lash out and kick. However his blood cant provide flames. Instead his blood has an acid burning effect only lethal to others that hold demonic blood. So while people like Muichiro and Tanjiro wouldn't be affected, Genya and full bloodied demons such as Swap Demon Kyojuro would be burnt. On top of gaining his demon crest in the shape of those specific yellow leaves, Yuichiro also sprouts two horns on the sides of his head above his ears in a similar shape to Albetto from Overlord's horns except they are a turquoise color like his eyes. His right arm is also a darkened black color from regenerating it as a demon. This color goes away once he's fully human again.
Yuichiro as a demon is more hostile to threats than Nezuko and is more grumpy all the time due to his old personality being that way. He's also VERY protective of his brother. During Muichiro's final selection, he had to be tied up in Wisteria infused ropes and slept to prevent from following after his younger brother. He won't aim to kill humans but if any makes threats towards Mui then he won't hesitate to hiss at them.

Rui (He/Him)
Teen/Middle Protector & Apathy Holder
Sourced from canon KNY. Go watch it for yourself if you haven’t already. It’s on Netflix and I’m not sure what else, but pirating is always available.
- 🕸️
Ayaki (He/Him)
Teen/Middle
Sourced from a swap!AU where he and the upper-moons become Hashira, the Hashira become upper-moons, and Nezuko and Tanjiro swap places.
-🕷️
Senjuro / Haisha (He/It)
Teen/Middle Fawn and wannabe host
Sourced from an unfinished AU where Senjuro becomes a demon for some reason (the creator never explained why) and ends up joining Rui’s family. He’s found by Kyojuro. The Hashira doesn’t behead or take him in Tanjiro-Nezuko style, but rather, he runs the other way and abandons him.
Due to such a source, I kindly request that Kyojuro alters and kins, please interact with care.

I swap a da Rengokus. I know Kyojuro won the last poll, but I genuinely had to draw them all, I’m sorry 😭
Kyojuro has serious alcoholism. He is the AA Hashira.
Shinjuro can’t use breathing styles :((
Senjuro is hoping to become a Hashira, but he’s just a talented Demon Slayer for the time being and will eventually join Nezuko and Kanao to make up the main trio of my swap au.

I like your demon slayer au!!
Is it just the kamaboko squad + giyuu there? Or are the other Hashiras there, I was going to recommend Kalim as a love interest for Kanao!Yuu (Kalim being Kanao!Yuu’s Tanjiro 💀) but then thought if there was an Obanai!Yuu because then Kalim would match them
ok so the Demon Slayer Yuu’s include the Kamaboko squad+ Swap Daki, Swap Gyutaro, Senjuro (Rengoku’s little brother), Aoi, and Giyuu
I do other requests like yours I’m starting on Kalim x Kanao!Yuu right now so don’t worry 😊.
This is in an au for Kalim x Kanao
Warning: Past abuse/slavery mention
At first he admired the person who quité literally saved his behind. When he was about to asked for their name the Headmage was escorting everyone out.
He talked Jamil ear off about them how fast they were and how they looked pretty (used as a gn term)
The next time he saw them was when they were asking about Jamil accident he finally got their name. Kanao!Yuu
After getting to know them for a while and the whole Scarabia incident he slowly slowly SLOWLY realize his feelings towards them he decided to confess to them
(Tanjiro!Yuu punched Jamil for Kalim btw)
At first when he wanted asked them out he was about to throw a party before Inosuke!Yuu stopped him.
“I know I’m not the smartest person.
“But I know that chestnut does not like parties.”
On to plan B he took them on a carpet ride where he confessed his feelings towards them.
“THEY SAID YES JAMIL”
Golden retriever x Black cat energy
Kalim is the obviously the most affectionate person in the relationship.
He will always pat Kanao!Yuu’s head (wether standing, bending down, or standing on a stool).
He will always talk to them no matter what and they will listen to him talk.
It’s canon that Kanao!Yuu likes giving small gifts to the people they care about. So I can imagine them giving Kalim a small gift (like a keychain or new drum sticks) and him putting them in the treasure vault.
Whenever someone is trying to hurt/manipulate/use Kalim they just have to glare at said person and they back off.
Whenever they cuddle either inside, outside, or on carpet they hug each other tightly (Mainly Kanao!Yuu). With Kalim being big spoon and Kanao!Yuu being the little spoon.
Whenever Kanao!Yuu has to leave Kalim will most likely follow them without realizing it himself.
Whenever Kanao!Yuu let their hair down Kalim will complement them until he realizes how flustered they are.
Whenever Kalim sees a pretty flower he will pick it and give it to them.
I headcanon that Kanao!Yuu has scars not only from their job but also from their past. I feel like Kalim would kiss their scars (with their permission) but won’t asked how they got them until their ready.
When Kanao!Yuu told him about their past he was shock
Not only did their parents basically almost killed them. But they also sold them.
He said that if he ever met them he would have punched them in their face (like what he said about Jamil)
He likes their sisters (even if he never got to meet them). Just hearing you talk about them he could tell they’re good people.
He likes hearing about their world it’s interesting.
He is their number 1 cheerleader.

Well, apparently the UpperMons/LowerMoons option won, so... Here is the list of ships
Warning: If you don't like a ship, that's okay, we all have different tastes! But if you ask for respect... I respect you, you respect me.
Don't start with comments like 'x ship is canon', each person has the right to ship whoever they like
They're not in order, I don't have a preference for one or the other
Again, I only like some ships depending on the universe (like Swap AU or Kimetsu Gakuen)
1. Michikatsu Tsugikuni / Kokushibo (UpperMoon 1):
A. HaruKatsu (Haruhime x Michikatsu Tsugikuni) (well Koku, if you didn't like her you would have left her to me).
B. KokuDou (Kokushibo x Douma) (Men with long hair, how pretty)
C. KokuAka (Kokushibo x Akaza/Hakuji) (Yes, I know Hakuji is with Koyuki and he's her husband, but I like it)
D. KokuNaki (Kokushibo x Nakime Otokawa) (Nakime probably doesn't want a rapprochement, but it's not like Kokushibo is the affectionate but respectful type either)
E. KokuZan (Kokushibo x Muzan Kibutsuji) (Yes yes, hate me, but I like the ship. Also, it would be a good way to give Muzan more trauma)
2. Douma (UpperMoon 2):
A. DouKoto (Douma x Kotoha)(He took good care of her at the time, you can't deny that)
B. DouAka (Douma x Akaza/Hakuji) (I know they hate each other, but I like it. So...)
C. KokuDou (Kokushibo x Douma) (I like the introvert x extrovert dynamic)
3. Hakuji Soyama / Akaza (UpperMoon 3):
A. HakuYoku (Hakuji x Koyuki) (My comforting ship, I love them)
B. AkaDou (Akaza x Douma) (😒👍🏼)
C. KokuAka (Kokushibo x Akaza) (Akaza was forgiven by Kokushibo 3 times, obviously he's interested)
4. Hantengu (Former UpperMoon 4):
- GyoTengu (Gyokko x Hantengu) (Swap AU only)
- Shall I tell you something? At some point in my life I liked the Hantengu x Nakime-. I don't know why, I saw a video - SWAP AU - of both of them and I liked it (I don't like it anymore)
6. Nakime (New UpperMoon 4):
- KokuNaki (Kokushibo x Nakime Otokawa) (It's probably the only ship of hers that I like)
- I used to ship her with Daki, but then I realized her age and said "NO"
7. Gyokko (UpperMoon 5)
- GyoTengu (Gyokko x Hantengu) (it's the only ship of both that I like, I don't ship him with anyone other than Hantengu - SWAP AU -)
8. Ume Shabana / Daki (Former "UpperMoon" 6):
- KaiDaki / KaiUme (Kaigaku x Daki) (Kaigaku x Ume) (my reason is not because they both ranked 6th in the UpperMons, it would take me a long time to explain, but I'll just say TikTok)
- GyuKai (Gyutaro Shabana x Kaigaku) (If you can ship with Daki, why not with him? Gyutaro deserves a nice relationship)
- UmeKana (Ume Shabana x Kanao Tsuyuri) (Only in Kimetsu Gakuen, I liked to see both of them working together to buy what Ume longed for, I love them)
9. Gyutaro Shabana (Former UpperMoon 6):
- GyuKai (Gyutaro Shabana x Kaigaku) (The ship is growing in me, help me)
- GyuMuka (Gyutaro Shabana x Mukago) (Pinterest, end of reason)
10. Kaigaku (New UpperMoon 6)
- KaiDaki / KaiUme (Kaigaku x Daki) (Kaigaku x Ume) (Kaigaku wouldn't believe that Gyutaro is Ume brother)
- GyuKai (Gyutaro Shabana x Kaigaku) (Daki would be happy for her brother, she loves him)
11. Enmu (LowerMoon 1)
- I will say that I used to ship it with Rui, I thought it was cute but I found out the age and said "AAAAAAH" (I'm angry about how K.G ruined Enmu, I expected it differently, not like this)
12. I'm sorry, but personally I haven't found any ship for Rokuro (LowerMoon 2) and Wakuraba (LowerMoon 3), so... There are no ships for these two, sorry
13. Mukago (LowerMoon 4):
- GyuMuka (Gyutaro Shabana x Mukago) (I only ship her with Gyutaro, I don't know why, but I like it)
15. Rui (LowerMoon 5):
- Like I said before, I used to ship him with Enmu, but not anymore-
- RuiSen (Rui Ayaki x Senjuro Rengoku) (I blame K.G. for making me ship them-) (And it's not illegal, you can search the manga and Senjuro introduces Rui as his classmate)
Do I have weird tastes? Yes-
Almost all of you at the moment JAHSJSHJAHSKSHSAJA
