and something something about Ezra embracing that culture as whole-heartedly as he can when so much of it has been lost

and something something about both of being denied the ability to practice certain aspects of their religion because otherwise they might be killed for it

and something something about Kanan remembering how Master Billaba carefully sheared his hair and oh so reverently plaited his Padawan braid and held it gently between her fingertips and told him she would do right by him and told him not to be afraid and told him she would be there for him until her dying breath and beyond and told him that he was going to be a great Jedi Knight one day and told him “you are our future youngling and I will do everything in my power to protect that future”

and something something about Kanan looking at Ezra’s wild hair with something hollow and aching tucked between his ribs because he longs to show Ezra the devotion his Master showed him and her Master showed before her and his Master before him but it’s not safe to gently plait that Padawan braid behind Ezra’s ear because such a sign of devotion will mean death and Kanan can only hope that Ezra understands how much Kanan loves him and how much Kanan is proud of him and how much hope and life he sees in his Padawan because while that Padawan braid may be the physical link between future and past tying together generations of Masters and Padawans who have lived and loved and passed on because “we are what they grow beyond”—

Kanan knows that every moment has led to this and Ezra is the future his Master and her Master before her never expected but they would be so proud to see Ezra now and Kanan can only hope Ezra knows how proud Kanan is of him too and know when he looks at Ezra he knows everything is going to be okay because “we are what they grow beyond” and despite everything that’s been lost to them Ezra is carrying the heart and soul of thousands of years of legacy and Kanan looks at Ezra knowing he can’t give him that Padawan braid but he’ll be damned if he can’t teach him the things that matter and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t do everything to protect the future he sees in Ezra’s eyes

Hey any The Winchesters fans who are fans of the Star Wars animated series. Rewatch the Star Wars Rebels ep World Between Worlds

I feel perfectly normal about all of this.

STILL CANNOT BELIEVE ROBBIE FULL ON NAME DROPPED THAT PHRASE Thematically...that ep of SW:R is very on point.

The symbolism used in the ep, the emotional theme and plot. Doesn't work the same way as spn multiverse. Yet similar notes.

"battle leaves scars. some you can't see" "change your fate" "sometimes i wish my life were different" "I wish i could see my mom and dad"

Some things can be altered. Some things can't because if changed, the ripple effect would be too destructive. I'm just thinking thoughts.

I got back into SW:R and aside from the "Kallus -being a highranking ISB agent and therefore perfectly in-the-know about the sort of fucked up shit 501st and other clone battalions did in the name of the Republic both during the Clone War and in the early years of the Empire- should have given Rex a complete verbal thrashing for being an absolute hypocritical piece of shit that time Kallus made a comment about 'I commanded star destroyers why am I not in command'" thing, I am also starting to wish the fact that Bo-Katan was Death Watch and Sabine was raised by her second-in-command and an important part of her character was the fact she followed the Old Ways ever actually got brought up other than that one time Concord Dawn commandos went "Death Watch? Traitor!" when she mentioned her clan.

Because in that context it makes perfect sense that Sabine would name the "this weapon will literally kill any Mandalorian who even remotely pretends to continue practicing Mandalorian culture, and the only way to stop it is to stop being a Mandalorian" wunderwaffe she made for the Empire (literally the legal continuation of the Republic), after Satine fucking Kryze, and what doesn't make sense is Bo-Katan even pretending to be offended by it.

"Hey, Edgy", Larry says that with a lot less energy than usual and because of this being unlike Butz, Edgeworth's intuition already told him that he won't like his next words. Well, it was right. "Why don't you contact with Nik?"

"He did not try to start our communication again himself so I don't see a reason to reach him myself." This lie comes out after some time of silence but still it's not that easy to find out if this really is a lie...

Unless you know the truth.

"But he tried!" exclaims Larry making Edgeworth sigh. "He wrote letters, he called your phone, he even showed me these letters and a call log!"

"Larry..." Edgeworth sighs again, irritated, averting his eyes. He does not want to bring up the "why do i avoid phoenix" topic. But he knew Larry too well to hope that...

"Edgy, why do you do this? You know you can trust Nik! You know well how I appreciate you and the same goes for Nik!"

Edgeworth sighs one again. Not "the same goes for Nik", it's "more goes for Nik". He knows it well.

Maybe that is the reason he doesn't want Wright to see him. Not after all this "forged evidence" gossips. Wright can be very emotional about it and who knows where these emotions can get him. It was much easier with Larry. Not only he found him before the SL–9, not only this. Even if he believed in all this gossips (and Larry said he'd not and Edgeworth believed him and not only because Larry is really bad in lying) then maybe Larry would be disappointed in Edgeworth but it wouldn't turn him away from Edgeworth.

It's not the same about Wright. Phoenix never tolerated lies and omissions. And if he will believe in all this gossips about Edgeworth then their friendship ends. They didn't see each other for about one and a half decades, nevertheless Edgeworth wasn't ready to hear that all is gone now.

If Phoenix can't get in touch with him then he can't say to Edgeworth that Edgeworth is foul lier and he doesn't want to have anything in common with him, right?

So everything is alright unless they meet.

Obsessed with how in Rebels Thawn pronounces Hera's last name markedly different from every other character in the show. Like the obvious answer for this would be that he's just saying it wrong, but with everything we as an audience know about Thrawn (his huge emphasis on culture, as well as his respect for Hera as a leader and pilot) that just makes no sense at all. Which leaves the alternative that every single other character in the show is mispronouncing it instead, which is a whole other thing on it's own! Idk I mean you could put it down to his accent which I guess is possible, but it still seems odd

Or I mean, it could also just be whatever, how they say Jarrus literally depends on the episode and who's saying it so like...

Having a sad about how in the Ahsoka trailer, Ahsoka says she walked away and didn’t complete Sabine’s training. In SW:R Kanan was training Sabine…and Sabine lost Kanan. Ahsoka took her on as a padawan…and then walked away.

All of Sabine’s doubts and fears in “Trials of the Darksaber” making her resistant to Kanan’s training at first.

Sabine breaking down finally and telling Kanan why she left Mandalore. How her family let her down when she was trying to save them, when she stood up to the Empire, and her own guilt about the weapons she’d created. (Tiya Sircar is so heartwrenching in her work in this ep).

Sabine mirroring Kanan in the Ahsoka trailer and the bond that formed between them on SW:R. He had two apprentices not just one, he became a virtual dad for two teens, not just one.

“The blade feels lighter” oh there it is!! Din Djarin found it heavy. Kanan tells Sabine it’s because she’s connecting with it. Yet Sabine isn’t actually the one who will wind up wielding it, just like Din Djarin isn’t. However she connects with the blade in ways Din Djarin doesn’t. Is more interested in it than he is. It’s just that ultimately she realizes it needs to go to Bo-Katan.

And Hera. “I know what it’s like when people you love don’t believe in you and they let you walk away.” Hera’s family history allows her to relate easily to Sabine’s.

Also Kanan and Hera talking it out about Sabine and acting so very much like a married couple talking about one of their children.

If anyone is interested, I started another side blog to curate a growing problem with Star Wars. I’ve always been a fan, but between The Mandalorian, rewatching Clone Wars and Rebels, and the upcoming disney+ SW ventures, I thought people seem to be here for Marvel related content and might appreciate me not cluttering up their dashes with more SW than usual, especially since the rewatch is getting me in my feels again about Rex and the rest of the boys™.
