Writing is weird because one minute you'll be thinking really hard and then you realize you're thinking really hard because you're writing—in detail—about how a guy wants to open a paper bag.

I am really disappointed that my hard work to summ up everything that happen during olympic break was ignored by broadcastet. I tagged tv and commentators, send e-mail to the broadcasters... nothing. they ended up saying stupid shit and since I was watching the quali on my phone I wasnt able to comment that on twitter....

Not trying to be rude or anything, but I think your soft shaded drawings are a bit.. overly soft. I mean, the cell shaded seem to have more character, and softs lose that :/ Maybe its worth blending both cell and soft together, or going in between those two?
It's great youre not stuck with just cell shading tho and try out new things! Keep up the great work! <3
Tumblr media
I've been experimenting a bunch- soft shading is still pretty new to me.
The huge variance of supersoft shading and superhard cell is nice to have in my armoury tho

WESTON — Matthew Tkachuk had the shortest offseason of his career but the star forward of the Florida Panthers was fine with it.
“You want to get used to that. Definitely,” he said on Monday afternoon.
Tkachuk is cool with that.
“We were not in the gym for two extra months like some teams are,” he told FHN. “We were doing things they all wished they were doing.
“Now, we have that fresh mindset where we are in a very cool and unique position to where it feels like we just left. We still have that killer mindset like we had in the playoffs and we’re going to need that early in the season especially with a few key guys still out. We need a good start.”
Tkachuk is coming off a fractured sternum sustained on a huge open-ice hit from Vegas’ Keegan Kolesar in the first period of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final in Sunrise.
Tkachuk has been medically cleared for the past few weeks and says he is “100 percent and feeling great” heading into the start of camp.
“I don’t remember the first time, but sometime in early August I went back on the ice,” he said. “Then, mid-August I was shooting. Once you do it a few times, you get comfortable and I have been doing all the normal stuff for a few weeks now.
“I worked superhard to get myself feeling like I am right now and, to be honest, I thought it would be longer than what it was. Out of the gate, I didn’t think I would ever get there. I am sure everyone says that with injuries. But hopefully I am peaking at the right time.”
As for how this season may go, Tkachuk says he is excited to see what the team’s new additions bring to what has been a very tight group.
“I am very excited because, even though we went very far last year, this team is very different which I think is a good thing,” Tkachuk said.
“We have another level to get to and have some fresh faces who are determined to get us back to the postseason.”
As for the golf, Tkachuk was the second group to tee off of No. 1 at Weston Hills and had plenty of chirps for his teammates — including Sasha Barkov, who is better at tennis than golf.
Barkov was in the first group to take on the par 5 first hole.
Tkachuk was there to see his first shot and, well, was not all that impressed.
“I have played with Reino a lot and he is really good,” Tkachuk said with a grin. “What I have seen from Barky, he has to be on the other end of the golfers on the team. Let’s just say this is not his specialty.”
The Panthers will have one more day to themselves before reporting to what will be the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise for physicals and media day on Wednesday morning.
Then, come Thursday, it all starts once again.
“There is definitely that hunger, especially when you get that close,” Tkachuk said. “I think we are in a great spot when it comes to mindset. We know what it takes and we have the hunger to do it. It is a pretty short-term mindset; let’s have a good camp and get off to a good start.
“The long-term goal is just make the playoffs. We saw what happened last year. We’re not looking too far ahead but the playoffs are what is on everyone’s mind.”

Ancient Ceramic
What is the ancient ceramic? Is it really a ceramic? Some of the art has the lizards directly interacting and 'using' the surface of the material, what's up with that? Is there an use for salvaged or reclaimed ceramic?
Ancient ceramic is definitely a material with properties. It occupies space and possesses mass. It's... probably made out of particles, but lizards aren't actually sure. It's called a ceramic because it's neither organic or metallic, but that's where the similarities to pottery end.
Looking at it with the most powerful microscopes they have, all lizards can see is a single unbroken surface. Chromatography techniques aren't helpful, as nothing in the stuff can be burned or dissolved. Most other material analysis techniques fall flat or give nonsensical results.
Whatever the mechanisms behind it, the material properties of ancient ceramic are that it's superhard, heavy, and conducts flux exceptionally well. When in it's "natural state" as part of an ancient structure, ancient ceramic doesn't just conduct flux, but it consumes it as well. When it's cut off from sources of flux, it slowly "dies," losing it's exceptional strength and hardness. It eventually dissolves away like a sand castle in the sun, leaving fine dust or microscopic, sharp-edged fragments behind.
Salvaged ceramic is rarely used, because it takes constant, concerted effort to keep it alive, and it's too heavy for most applications anyways.
The dust it breaks down into is more useful. It increases the flux conductivity of whatever you mix it into. Lizards often make concrete with it, because the small, fine particles make a great aggregate. As a bonus, it increases the flux conductivity of whatever you're building. Watch out though-- you want to make sure you're building with the dust, and not the carcinogenic, razor-edged fragments that it can also leave behind.
Flux perception is one of lizards' most important senses, and because ancient ceramic is so conductive, laying your hand on it means you can sense a larger region around yourself. Lizards may also be searching for input or output nodes, or perhaps energizing a specific piece of ancient technology connected to the surface they're making contact with.

Exploring microstructures for high-performance materials
In just the first few months of 2024, the journal Nature has published two scientific papers co-authored by Kun Luo, an Iowa State University postdoctoral research associate in materials science and engineering. "My research aims to unravel the fundamental mechanisms governing the behavior of diverse materials," Ken Luo wrote in a brief biography, "paving the way for developing innovative and high-performance materials across various industries." Luo has a background in experimental science, studying superhard materials using techniques in high-pressure physics. He also has expertise in theoretical simulations using machine learning tools to discover the microstructures within materials. "Throughout my career, I recognized the importance of theoretical simulation in explaining the atomic mechanisms behind the macroscopic behaviors of materials," he said.

so... does anyone else get legit pulse-raising anxiety️ & like some hurricane of pda + executive dysfunction when day 1 of spring comes?
this year i have 120 plots (+ 4 flowers for hives, sprinklers for all!) that need to be tilled & fertilized, then i gotta horsehoof it to ~pierre~ for a variety that = 120 crops + 4 flowers, hoof it BACK to my farm
(& try not to sidetrack on needing to ~clean debris~ or forage there & back!!)
(& yes i down 3x espressos on the reg!)
& plant all that...
&&& then fly to the coop & barn bc i'm autopetter-less & if i don't love on all my bb's i'll cry...
& not just pass out on yr farm so that linus can Do What He Do?
like i truly think i may have to a) ignore my animals or 2) try superhard to not forage or cleanup beyond what's in the Til Zone...
um. just me? 👀
also, my winter income based mostly off goldlev ancient wine, iridium bars, iridiumlev goat cheese, diamonds, emeralds. 😊
ANYWAY, yeah. i panicked & shut my game down bc spring 1. like no other season day 1 stresses me this bad!
help? or just empathy 😅
