How to get football autographs: a crash course

Fair warning: this will be a long post.

We’ve all heard it by now: the best way to get footballer autographs is to attend open trainings or wait outside their hotels and stadiums on match days. But what if you live far away or can’t afford to fly to training or games? Not to worry! Whether you’re a collector, a fan, or a little bit of both like me, quite a few clubs are still willing to send out autograph cards, as long as you send them a stamped addressed envelope.

You’ll find helpful how-to videos on how to do just that, along with links to some country stamp websites, below. These videos actually inspired this post:

Postage Questions:

What materials will I need to send a request?

You’ll need a letter containing your autograph request, 2 envelopes (one bigger and one smaller), a stamp/stamps (depending on size and weight) from your country and the stamp/stamps of the destination country.

I’ve bought my stamps. What size envelopes should I get?

I recommend getting c4 envelopes, as they’ll be big enough to hold your autograph request letter. These will be the envelopes you’ll mail out. If you go with a c4 envelope, I’d recommend purchasing c5 envelopes as your smaller envelope. These will be the envelopes the clubs return to you with the autograph cards inside, and you’ll slide them into your c4 envelope when you’re ready to mail them.

Be sure to include the club’s mailing address and your country’s stamp on the large envelope and your address + their country’s stamp on the smaller one

Where can I find a club’s mailing address?

You can usually find a club’s mailing address, along with their attitude towards fanmail, on the “contact us” tab on their webpage. If you can’t find it there, search the name of the club on fanmail.biz; they have the mailing address of just about every football club you can imagine.

What should I put in my autograph request letter?

The main thing here is to include which footballers’ autographs you want (if you don’t have a preference, you don’t have to do this; you can always say you’d be happy to add whatever player cards they’re willing to send to your collection, or something like that lol). Apart from that, what you include is entirely up to you! I wouldn’t recommend sending a super long letter, but if you want to add a personal touch, you can always mention one of your favorite memories of that club and their achievements. It doesn’t hurt to throw in a thank you at the end either :) one last note: you can address your letter to the club or the player whose autograph you’re requesting; it’s entirely up to you!

Do I have to send a stamped addressed envelope to every club?

Not necessarily. If you want to save money on stamps and envelopes, try emailing the clubs first. If you’re lucky, they’ll send the autograph cards directly to you and pay for the postage :)

Now onto the most important question: does it work? The answer is that it depends on the club you’re sending the request to and sometimes even the league they play in. I’ll break it down by league below, detailing either my own experiences writing to the club (if I’ve written to the club and heard back, I’ll state it outright) or that of YouTubers who have reached out to them. If you don’t see your club here, assume they either don’t reply to fanmail, or I haven’t heard of any success stories yet.

Premier League

Some Prem clubs still send out autographs, but not all. Here’s the ones that do:

Manchester United - pre-covid I’m pretty sure they sent out only hand-signed autographs upon request. Unfortunately, they seem to have cut back a bit on this in recent years; nowadays they tend to send a mix of hand-signed and pre-printed, facsimile signatures (this was the case for me when I wrote to them a few months ago and a few YouTubers that wrote to them as well). Still, pretty amazing given the size of the club that they’re willing to do this. As a United fan, I can’t help but feel a little proud :)

Liverpool - they definitely take the “you’ll never walk alone” motto literally, because they also still answer autograph requests with squad photos and signatures, at least as of 2021. To add a personal touch, they usually include a certificate with your name on it. Even though they’re United’s biggest rivals, I can’t help but respect them for this.

Arsenal - another big club that’s not too big for their fans; to my knowledge, they still send out hand-signed autographs. In doing research for this post, I even stumbled upon a video of someone who got an Arsenal match program, 2 squad photos, and autographs on the back of one of them. Talk about a big haul!

Tottenham - usually send pre-signed, photocopied autograph cards

Chelsea - sent out pre-signed, facsimile autograph prints as of 2021

Manchester City - sends out facsimile signatures only, according to several YouTubers (I’ve never contacted the club personally, so I’m not sure if this is still the case). If you do reach out to them, let me know what you hear back!

Crystal Palace - hit-or-miss. They tend to reply with pre-signed squad photos. They usually include a “south london and proud” bracelet from what I understand though, which is a fun perk!

West Ham - you might hear back from them, you might not (I didn’t when I tried a few months ago, but I know several other people did). If they do reply, you’ll likely receive hand-signed photos.

Aston Villa - sent out mostly pre-signed cards as of 2021

Everton - sent out predominantly hand-signed cards as of 2020

Leicester - send out a mix of photocopied and hand-signed cards, as of 2020 - they generally include player cards from the entire squad

Bournemouth - sent out pre-printed cards as of 2021

Newcastle - still sent out hand-signed photographs as of 2020

Bundesliga

If you want hand-signed autographs, look no further than the Bundesliga. In my experience, they send out the most hand-signed cards of any football league, and it’s not even close. In fact, you’d be hard pressed to find a club that doesn’t send out hand-signed cards. I’m assuming it’s the same story for the 2. Bundesliga (I know Schalke sends out hand-signed cards at the very least).

Bayern Munich - generally, they prefer you purchase cards on their website. Unfortunately, you have to be a member to buy signed cards on there; otherwise, you have to settle for pre-signed prints. That said, I’m pretty sure that if you purchase the player cards on the website and send a few back to the club to be signed, they will return them with official autographs. I sent in a request for Manuel Neuer’s autograph earlier this year and enclosed his player card, and they sent it back hand-signed. I included my membership number in my request just in case, but I know they’ve sent hand-signed autographs to non-members in the past (i.e. the YouTuber mentioned towards the beginning of this post). If you do reach out to Bayern, let me know how it goes. My fingers are crossed for you regardless 🤞

Borussia Dortmund - probably the most reliable of the Bundesliga clubs when it comes to autograph requests. They now limit you to 4 footballers per request, so you’ll have to be selective. That said, they usually reply quickly and send out hand-signed autographs every time. I have yet to hear of anyone who hasn’t received something back when they sent an autograph request to BVB.

Bayer Leverkusen - when I requested autographs from them, they sent me some back. I requested 3 players’ autographs, along with Xabi Alonso’s, and received all 4 cards back hand-signed. Quite a few YouTubers have had success hearing from them as well. Even though they’re having a fantastic season, they clearly haven’t neglected their fanmail, which is cool to see :)

Eintracht Frankfurt - sends out hand-signed autograph cards, even as of this season (they sent hand-signed cards when I reached out to them two months ago). If they’re your club, you’re in luck.

VfB Stuttgart - hand-signed cards

RB Leipzig - hand-signed cards

FC Union Berlin - hand-signed cards (I haven’t heard back from them yet, but it’s only been a week and a half at this point)

SC Freiburg - hand-signed cards

Borussia Mönchengladbach - hand-signed cards (I just heard back from them a week ago, and I think I got a mix of hand-signed cards and pre-signed prints)

FC Augsburg - hand-signed cards

SV Werder Bremen - hand-signed cards

VfL Wolfsburg - hand-signed cards

VfL Bochum - hand-signed cards, sometimes of the entire team (I received 4 cards in response to my request)

TSG Hoffenheim - hand-signed cards, often of the entire team

FC Köln - hand-signed cards

FSV Mainz - hand-signed cards, often of majority of the squad

La Liga

If you’re a fan of a Spanish club, you might be a lot less lucky, sadly. Only one club still sends out hand-signed autographs to my knowledge, and only one other club sends anything back in response to fanmail.

Real Madrid - occasionally sends out posters with pre-printed, facsimile signatures.

Sevilla - this is the club to ask for hand-signed autographs. That said, you probably won’t get more than one or two. I’d recommend being specific about which player(s)’ autographs you want in order to avoid being disappointed.

Ligue 1

Maybe the French league is more your speed. It’s a mixed bag here; while few answer fanmail, the ones that do are more often than not the most generous of any football clubs on this list.

PSG - the Parisians do still respond to autograph requests, but pretty much exclusively send out facsimile signatures.

Olympique de Marseille - have sent out pre-signed cards of their entire team in the past, along with a poster

FC Metz - sent out a mix of hand-signed autographs and pre-signed prints as of 2021

LOSC Lille - sent out autograph cards as of 2021

OGC Nice - sent out autograph cards as of 2021

RC Strasbourg - sends out autographed postcards, and if you’re lucky, they might include a squad photo and some stickers along with it :)

AS Saint-Étienne - send out hand-signed cards, although I’ve also seen them send squad photos addressed to the recipient, along with 2 issues of their club’s magazine

Eredivisie

PSV Eindhoven - sometimes send out autograph cards with facsimile signatures (pre-prints)

Swiss Super League

FC Basel - sent out hand-signed cards as of 2021

BSC Young Boys - sent out hand-signed cards as of 2021

Austrian Football Bundesliga

SK Rapid Wien - sent out hand-signed cards as of 2021

LASK - hand-signed cards (as of 2021)

Scottish Premiership

Glasgow Rangers - occasionally sends pre-signed prints (at least, as of 2021)

MLS

Whether you’ve got a particular club in mind or you’re just a fan of one of the big stars (i.e. Messi), you’re probably in for disappointment. Autograph collecting isn’t super big in the U.S., and MLS treats autograph requests accordingly.

Seattle Sounders - one of the only two clubs in MLS that actually sends a response to autograph requests - one lucky collector was even able to get a hat signed by the entire squad! (see here)

NYCFC - sends out hand-signed autograph cards occasionally, usually only one or two

*side note: unfortunately, it seems like most people have only reached out to European clubs, (with the exception of the A-League and MLS), so I can’t speak to whether clubs on other continents fulfill autograph requests. If you reach out to any clubs in leagues not mentioned here, let me know and I’ll update the list :)

Lingering questions:

How long does it take to hear back from clubs?

In my experience as someone living in the UK, I’ve heard back from every club I reached out to within 2-3 weeks (closer to the 2 week mark in most cases). It depends on how far away you live from the club though. I heard back from Manchester United within a week of mailing my request, but they were the exception, not the rule.

Tldr: expect to hear back within a month (maybe a month and a half in extreme cases)

Do clubs answer autograph requests during the off-season?

In my experience, no. I tried this a few years back with no success.

Can I send a shirt to be signed by a player?

I wouldn’t recommend it, as you may not get it back. If you do, the club will probably just return it to you unsigned. You’re better off just requesting an autograph card imo.

Do national teams send autograph cards?

Some do! Last I’ve heard, the German national team still answers requests with authentic signatures and the Croatian national team has sent out signed cards previously as well. The Czech Republic sends out unsigned squad cards. Last but not least, the Dutch national team has sent out fan posters in the past.

As far as inter-region dynamics go, the tension over football/soccer between Europe and the US is by far the one I find most interesting.

It's not particularly because I think it's that notable, it's more because I think there's an almost unbound sense of absurdity to the proceedings.

Bear in mind, the content I consume is all in the anglosphere or adjacent to it, I don't know about the opinions of people who don't post content in English because the only other language I speak is French, and even then I speak it very badly.

The part of it that I find most interesting is that the US steamrolls the international competition in its major domestic sports, ice hockey being maybe the only consistent exception, and is also by and large competitive in a large number of international sports; athletics, gymnastics, swimming, etc.

Sportspeople from America occupy the upper echelons of a good chunk of international sport, and with a healthy dose of exceptionalism, patriotism, and pro-american, biased reporting, you get a situation where, much like how many other countries report their own sports, American sportspeople are by far and away a bigger deal in the US than elsewhere. After all, no one in Europe would describe Christian Pulisic as the "LeBron James of soccer."

Given that Americans excel at so many sports, and I'd be remiss not to mention they're still largely The Team in women's international football, so I think it's not an illogical next step to ask the question "can the men reach the top too?"

Now, it's not so much that Europeans don't want to see the world order upset by an outsider, it's far more about the attitude of said outsider, but I think the tension arises from the fact that, even if we don't articulate it well, Europeans just know that the US men probably won't win a major tournament. This then morphs into a frankly pointless amount of defensiveness from our side, as there are good reasons to say why the US can't reach the pinnacle of football.

I don't think that the issue is that we don't want to see our leagues be opposed and challenged, though I have no doubt that's a part of it. I think it's more to do with other leagues being pushed as The Next Big Thing.

It's more difficult to describe, but I believe that we just don't care for other leagues because other leagues are pushed as a way to draw eyes away from the European leagues, but almost in a way that feels like those marketing leagues that want to be up and coming want us to watch theirs instead of ours.

Whilst I have no doubt that people are protective and selfish over what we have in Europe, part of the issue boils down to the question of "why are you selling us your league? We don't need it." Even if that's not what is intended, that's the scepticism that will greet it.

On top of all that is a sort of sense of place. Instead of punching above their weight, it feels more like waving their hands and saying, "we could be there." That's not inherently bad, but I think the reaction that Europeans have to that is laced with disdain because there's a feeling that the US haven't earned the right to say then can win the World Cup based on past performances or current international team.

And that's not even mentioning the football/soccer schism. A discussion that is so wildly pointless that I'm shocked it even illicits strong feelings in people because both mean the same thing. But, it's turned into a petty way to discredit America as lesser in football, though I admittedly have little sympathy for either side because I find both equally annoying.

bem, você vai obter seus desejos, não perca seu tempo dando atenção pra uma coisa manipulável, uma coisa que você controla.

Don’t mind the circumstances, they don’t matter, it’s the old 3D and the 3D is manipulatable. You can change it whenever you want. You don’t need to believe in your affirmation for it to manifest, and it’s totally possible for all those guys to like you. Since you chose robotic affirmations, here’s my advice: stick to your affirmations and saturate your subconscious.

Here’s how it works: Manifestation happens like this (in my view): First, you think/affirm it in the mental realm, which is the 4D. Then, you transfer those thoughts into the 3D, which is the physical realm.

Where does your subconscious fit in? Your subconscious absorbs those affirmations/thoughts, making them show up in the physical realm (where you’ll be super happy living your desires). That’s why the 3D and the circumstances around your manifestation don’t matter, because it’s an illusion that’s easy to manipulate. The more you affirm to your subconscious, the more it will accept it.

Conclusion? Well, you’re going to get your desires, so don’t waste your time paying attention to something manipulatable, something you control. Persist. Understand that 3D doesn’t show an absolute truth. Put yourself on a pedestal.

O restaurante estava parcialmente vazio visto o horário que havia chego nele. - Está linda.. - automaticamente meus olhos foram para a mesa posta e coloquei uma mecha do cabelo para trás, demonstrando um sorriso singelo de agradecimento.

- Obrigada.. você também está! - apesar da frase ter soado como se eu não soubesse o que dizer, havia sinceridade no que disse visto que Zayn, com o cabelo cortado, os óculos escuros apoiados na cabeça, barba perfeitamente alinhada e uma jaqueta fina jeans sobre a camiseta preta deixou-o incrivelmente lindo.

- Já pediu?

- Ainda não.

- Você está com fome?

- Pra falar a verdade não.. - solto uma risadinha e sou acompanhada.

- Eu também não.. por enquanto não.

- Podemos pedir mais pra frente?

- Como quiser. - após a decisão unânime avisamos o garçom da mesa que pediríamos nossos pratos em breve e a torta de climão foi servida logo depois que o funcionário se afastou e nos encaramos olho no olho. - Então.. - Zayn começa. - Obrigado por ter esperado tanto tempo. - assenti. - Devo admitir que não foi fácil esses dias que ficamos separados. Eu sofri cada segundo, e imagino que você também. - sua inquietação dava para ser vista pelo modo como ele mexia sem parar no guardanapo sobre o prato. - Por outro lado foi “bom” pelo fato de ter refletido bastante sobre nós, sobre mim e sobre o futuro.

- E qual foi sua conclusão? - minhas mãos suavam e meu coração acelerava mais a cada palavra dita pelo moreno. Com certeza meu olhar ansioso por uma resposta era percebido de longe.

- Eu acho que a separação seja a melhor opção, S/A. - depois que escutei a frase final meu mundo caiu. Minha feição murchou e eu não consegui escutar nada que saia de sua boca apesar de vê-la mexendo sem parar. Eu não estava pronta para viver longe dele depois de dez anos juntos. Eu ainda o amava de todo meu coração. E em um pico de sentimentos, sem nem pensar um segundo sequer, soltei a notícia que eu daria de uma outra forma a ele.

- Eu estou grávida. - com os olhos presos nele, vejo o moreno em minha frente travar. As palavras em sua boca calaram-se e a expressão assustada e surpresa tornaram-se a única coisa que ele podia transmitir.

- Você.. o quê? - Zayn estava pálido.

- Pois é.. eu não queria te contar assim, agora.. mas sim, eu estou grávida.

- De quanto tempo?

- Um mês e meio. - Malik franze a testa e logo passa as mãos trêmulas pelo rosto.

- Meu Deus.. e quem é o pai?

- Como assim quem é o pai? - questiono com uma risada quase desacreditada com a pergunta que escuto. - Claramente é você.

- Como tem tanta certeza?

- Quem mais seria, Zayn?

- Bom, não sei se você se lembra mas você transou com o Ethan exatos dois meses atrás. - o tom sarcástico me desestabilizou.

- Sim, Zayn, eu me lembro disso. - pude vê-lo morder a bochecha interna, provavelmente com raiva. - E exatamente por esse detalhe que eu tenho certeza que o filho é seu, porque como você foi bem taxativo em dizer o lance com o Ethan aconteceu dois meses atrás, e eu estou grávida há quarenta e cinco dias, sendo esse o número certinho de dias desde a última vez que nos vimos pessoalmente, em que você foi até em casa pegar alguns dos seus perfumes e os sprays de tinta, e em uma conversa longa nos acabamos na cama. Ou você se esqueceu disso? - fiz questão das palavras rebaterem toda a desconfiança e desdém que ele apresentou para mim, sendo o suficiente para o rapaz ficar quieto.

- Há quanto tempo você sabe?

- Duas semanas.

- E por que não me contou antes?

- Como você queria que te contasse se você não queria me ver?

- Poderia ter me ligado.

- E ter te contado pelo telefone? Se pessoalmente você desconfiou se poderia ser realmente seu filho, por telefone você desligaria na minha cara. - novamente ele ficou em silêncio. Zayn virou a cabeça para esquerda, onde estava a rua, passando os olhos sobre os carros, inquietantemente.

- Sei que não deveria ter dito uma notícia dessas de surpresa.

- Tá tudo bem..

- Dá pra ver pela sua cara que não está nada bem. - ele suspira.

- Não me entenda mal, S/N.. eu não estou triste por saber que sou pai.

- Não é o que parece.

- Porra, eu vim preparado para colocar um ponto final na nossa relação e você joga que teremos um filho juntos? Minha cabeça fez um nó!

- Não mencionei que teremos ele juntos. Apenas te dei a notícia de que eu estou grávida. - enfatizei o pronome. - Pode colocar o ponto final no nosso relacionamento que eu criarei a criança sozinha. Não vai ser um problema pra mim.

- Não fale besteira.

- Bom, Zayn, do jeito que está falando parece que você não quer ser pai! - percebo que minha voz aumentou pelo fato das pessoas em volta olharem para nós rapidamente, além dos murmurinhos das mesas ao lado.

- Aqui não é o melhor lugar para falarmos sobre isso. - diz constrangido.

- É uma pena, mas infelizmente eu não vou adiar mais essa conversa.

- Tudo bem.. - ele respira fundo e de novo as mãos passeiam pelo rosto ainda branco. - Eu.. eu não sei o que fazer. - percebo o quão atordoado Zayn ficou com a notícia. Então para contornar a situação mantenho a calma e tento encontrar as palavras certas para que a situação não piore.

- Você pode me dizer o porquê quer colocar um ponto final na nossa vida juntos?

- Porque acredito que a gente não vai dar certo de novo.

- OK.. - engulo seco e respiro fundo. - Acha isso mesmo sem termos tentado pelo menos uma vez?

- Você sabe que já tentamos uma, duas, três, mil vezes fazer esse relacionamento funcionar, S/N.

- Nós tentamos duas vezes, Zayn. Duas vezes!

- Contando as traições ok, foram duas vezes. Mas e quando você teve ataques de ciúmes no início do namoro que era motivo de briga todo santo dia? E quando nós ficamos uma semana sem nos falarmos quando começamos a morar juntos?

- Tá, e você acha que só o nosso relacionamento é assim? Que casais do mundo inteiro vivem as mil maravilhas todos os dias?

- Eu sei que não mas..

- Não tem mas, Zayn. Seus argumentos não se sustentam. Me diz que você não sente mais nada por mim que aí sim eu vou acreditar e colocar um fim na nossa história. - Malik olha no fundo dos meus olhos, consigo ver as lágrimas presas e o lábio de baixo tremendo. No entanto ele não diz nada. Apenas continua me encarando sem ter o que falar, somente sentir. E foi ali que percebi que graças a Deus o meu marido ainda me amava. - Eu.. eu provavelmente não vá aguentar esperar mais tempo.. mas se você quiser…

- Não. - rebate no mesmo segundo que uma lágrima cai e ele em seguida limpa, fungando o nariz. - Não quero te fazer de trouxa e muito menos perder a gestação do meu filho.. desculpe, nosso filho.. - solta uma risadinha e outra gota escorre de seus olhos marejados. Sinceramente eu não sabia distinguir qual era o real sentimento sentido por ele ao decorrer da conversa, e uma angústia gritava em meu peito que eu não pude silenciar.

- Zayn..

- Sim.

- Eu não quero te prender a mim por causa dessa criança. - por mais que tenha sito essa a minha intenção quando disse que estava grávida, no momento que o poeira baixou eu entendi a gravidade do cenário que criei.

- E você não vai.

- Como não? Há cinco minutos você queria terminar tudo.

- É que.. - desviou o olhar para o chão. - Droga.. é que eu estou com medo.

- Medo do quê?

- De sofrer de novo o que eu sofri e de fazer você sofrer como eu fiz. - desta vez pude sentir verdade no que ele disse, e foi quase um alívio saber que é esse o motivo do fim. Em um impulso minhas mãos foram ao encontro das dele e vejo olhar pra mim.

- Você sabe que eu não cometo o mesmo erro duas vezes. - ele assentiu. - E acredito que você também não.

- Jamais.

- Mas entendo o seu medo, assim como eu também sinto esse receio. Porém acredito que se recomeçarmos, se escrevermos nossa história em uma folha em branco, mudando aquilo que não tivemos a oportunidade de modificar lá atrás e que nos trouxe a essa situação, nós podemos sim continuar juntos.

- Sabe, é muito difícil te olhar e saber que você foi pra cama com meu melhor amigo. - aquelas palavras doeram, e agora eu fico sem graça, sentindo o peso de minhas atitudes batendo contra mim. - Por mais que eu não tenha visto, a imagem dele te tocando, de você beijando ele na nossa cama me perturba todo dia. - aos poucos ele soltou suas mãos das minhas.

- Eu senti a mesmíssima coisa quando peguei você com a sua ex na nossa sala de estar, no sofá que nós compramos um dia depois de nos casarmos. - mais uma vez o silêncio se faz presente. - Não foi nada, nada fácil, Zayn. Mas o amor que eu senti por você, todas as nossas conquistas juntos, me deu forças para “esquecer” e seguir em frente.

- Você é muito mais forte do que eu. - ele riu fraco, entregando a derrota.

- Ou talvez eu te ame mais do que você me ama. - eu não queria acreditar nisso, mas todos os pontos me levavam a essa explicação que era a que eu mais temia e custava crer que realmente aconteceria.

- Não vou ser hipócrita em dizer que o sentimento é o mesmo.

- Eu entendo que não. - tentei contornar e mostrar-lhe uma nova perspectiva que salvasse nosso casamento de uma vez por todas. - Esse amor só precisa ser maior que o medo que te faz me querer longe de você. - Zayn ficou mudo e eu perdi as esperanças, desmanchando meu semblante otimista. - Você parece confuso pra mim.

- Me desculpa..

- Tudo bem.. - sem mais saber com o que rebater, dou-me por vencida e sinto o choro entalar na garganta. - É.. acho melhor você absorver todas as informações e sentimentos para então me dizer o que realmente quer e eu vou acatar.

- OK.. - fungou o nariz. - Você ainda quer comer?

- Perdi a fome. - sorri amarelo e ameacei levantar-me mas ele foi mais forte que eu, segurando minha mão.

- Me promete uma coisa?

- Hum.

- Independente da minha decisão, promete me incluir em tudo relacionado ao nosso bebê?

- Prometo… é claro..

Achava engraçado o jeito que o Park ficava quieto além do normal quando isso acontecia.

Chilling Adventures: Minnie Xeng feat. Lilium Han

Particularmente, Minnie meio que gostava de ser uma gostosa nerd e ser, de certa forma, favorita dos professores.

Ela achava o auge de todos os auges ter permissão pra almoçar na sala dos professores e poder chamar todos eles pelo primeiro nome, trocar fofocas durante o dia e ter uma piada interna com pelo menos metade deles. Fazia ela se sentir super legal e ter superpoderes, independente do nível de intimidade com esses adultos não ser algo que seus colegas considerassem legal.

Ela, por exemplo, amava o jeito orgulhoso que a orientadora observava seu último boletim e lia em voz alta todos os elogios que tinham sido deixados nas notas no final do papel, porque Ms. Han tinha aquele ar materno (mesmo que estivesse na casa dos vinte e poucos anos) e de quem genuinamente se preocupava com o progresso dos alunos.

Incluindo ela, Minnie Xeng, uma fodida lá de Chinatown com o sonho de entrar em uma boa faculdade.

— Sabe, eu acho que se continuar assim, consigo umas entrevistas legais pra sua carta de recomendação. Sua redação sobre crescer em um bairro de comunidade asiática foi excelente, não sabia que seu irmão era policial. — Ms. Han comenta ao devolver o papel para Xeng, um sorrisinho doce se estendendo nos lábios ao apoiar as mãos em cima da mesa. — Conheço uns ex colegas e seniores lá da Brown que iam adorar tomar um café com você e te dar uns conselhos. Minnie, você é ótima.

O tipo de elogio que ela amava receber, além de inteligente e boa com atendimento ao público, já que grande gostosa e sentadeira profissional ela reservava só pro namorado, então se sentiu a garota mais especial do mundo ao soltar uma risadinha e jogar o cabelo por cima do ombro.

— Eu gosto de dramatizar a parte que ele é tipo um super-herói lutando contra o sistema, já que a maioria dos meninos lá do bairro terminam no caminho errado, mas ele, resolveu ir pelo outro lado. — Minnie diz com muito orgulho, pensando que ela e a mãe eram muito sortudas por ter ele apoiando aquele pequeno clã que eles tinham, antes de emendar em um tom irônico, analisando as unhas de gel. — Bom, pelo menos ele conseguiu fugir.

E podia até não parecer nada, mas chamou a atenção de Ms. Han na hora, que encolheu os ombros e incentivou a mais jovem a continuar.

— Interessante… Mas por que você diz isso?

— Ah, a senhora sabe, é dinheiro fácil e rápido e eu sou carismática do jeito que o pessoal gosta, então claro que eu passei despercebida. — Minnie então responde como se estivesse conversando com uma amiga, pronta pra contar toda sua jornada curta como revendedora de ilícitos pra jovens amargurados e doidos varridos. — Eu só queria ajudar minha mãe a pagar umas contas, então eu só vendia uns comprimidos diferentes e maconha pra um doidinho vizinho do meu namorado, mas aí o Roscoe ameaçou tirar a própria vida na minha frente com um bico desse tamanho e eu parei.

Minnie aproveita a pausa e o choque de Ms. Han pra refletir sobre aquela última parte.

— Quanto maior o cara, mais bicudo ele é. E isso serve pra rola dele também.

Quando se formou na faculdade e entregou aquele TCC, Lilium prometeu pra si mesma que ela ia ser sempre a melhor profissional que ela podia ser e ajudar todos que ela conseguisse, incluindo como uma confidente fiel. Ela jurou que ia ser uma melhor amiga e nunca contar segredos.

Segredos, não confidências criminais feitas na cara dura e como se não fossem nada.

Mas claro que ela não ia estender esse assunto pros colegas e muito menos a diretora da escola, escolhendo fazer uma visita até a secretaria no intervalo um tanto atordoada e preocupada com sua aluna modelo que parecia precisar de ajuda, incomodando a telefonista até a mesma lhe dar atenção enquanto ela tinha que ficar na ponta dos pés pra parecer uma adulta debruçada naquele balcão.

— Eu preciso que a senhora ligue pro contato de emergência da Minnie Xeng, da turma sênior avançada.

— Mãe ou…

— Irmão. O irmão dela ia ser perfeito.

Lilium não o conhecia, mas sabia que ia ser melhor expor pra ele do que uma senhora possivelmente de idade e tradicional chinesa, que provavelmente também não falava bem inglês, que a filha de dezessete anos fez jovem aprendiz de traficante.

E pra Minnie na aula de cálculo, muito concentrada na prova surpresa que ela já sentia que ia acontecer naquele dia, não foi nada demais ver uma viatura estacionando lá do outro lado da rua que ela conseguia ver pela janela.

Ia ser só outro dia… Né?

Hello, girlies! Voici the release schedule for my little summer fic ☀️⛱️ I'm super excited for this one cuz the main character features a South Asian baddie named Naaz.

This fic is quite dear to me because I've never seen fanfic where the main character is of South Asian descent and I wanted to take one for the team and write one

Compared to the other fic, this one is much lighter and has more of a summer vibe and I might finish this before the other one lmao.

Kylian tries to enjoy the beautiful summer weather in Nice when all of a sudden his peace and quiet gets interrupted by a loud voice swearing from the other balcony. Who the hell is this woman and what kind of French is that?

Naaz gets a call from back home which dampens her mood. Her parents are beyond furious but she stays firm in her decisions. Enough is enough. She decides the best remedy is crystal clear water and a nice tan, and of course, the annoying brat happens to show up at the same time.   

Kylian goes on social media and is once again faced with an onslaught of critics who can’t seem to stop themselves from portraying him as an overrated evil money-hungry brat. He decides the best remedy is some alone time at the beach when he spots the fiery foreigner who seems to possess the ability to lift his mood without even lifting a finger.

Naaz doesn’t know which screw in her brain got loose which made her agree to Kylian’s brilliant plan of sneaking into the crumbling ruins of a Roman amphitheatre but she just couldn’t stand the mocking smirk on his face. Kylian for his part has never felt this alive since winning against Marseilles in the Vélodrome.
