What things smell like according to Logan Howlett/ The Wolverine. A series of smell based headcanons. Do with these whatever you want :)

People:

Ororo: burnt marshmellows, rain, chunky chocolate chip cookies, protien shakes, spansih rice, chillies, and cocoa butter. She always smells great.

Scott: cucumber shampoo, the remaints of a bonfire the next day, fresh dry cleaning, axe shower gel, lavender sheets

Jean: caramel latte, lavender sheets, vanilla spiced chai, books, mint ice cream, fruit smoothies, stinky hair product, lemon poppy seed muffins, sassafras

Hank: Books, sanatizer, various chemicals, a very specifc fur dander, kinda musky but in a 'im covered in fur and sweaty' kind of way.

Rouge: "Dolly Parton", brick and concrete dust, cherry blossoms body spray, freshly engraved wood, strawberries and milk conditioner, spicy gaucamole and freshly sizzled sausages.

Gambit: tv static, a fresh deck of cards at the casino, spicy jumbo, gin, lime jello, hair gel, "suprisingly good actually"

Kurt: brimstone, smoke from franckinsense, myrrh, a less smelling dander then hank, Holy chrism oil (olive oil and Balsam made by catholic priests), metal, and blue raspberry. Fur/ beard pomade sometimes for special ocassions.

Morph: even when changed he can smell is sandlewood shampoo, he smells like how "Jack Outta smell", latex, pine and cedar, clear nail polish, "that ugly quilt that your grandma kept on the back of her couch that was the warmest, softest thing you've ever slept with."

Charles: Old man fart, metal, chalk, shoe polish, nutmeg, wool, "a trusting hug", books, mahogany, expensive champagne.

Laura: "teen spirit", a shitty cheap "girl power" deodorant that doesn't do well hiding the sweat, apples and peaches, kinda woodsy.

Wade: Cancer, gun smoke, citrus dish soap, blood, oranges, taco sauce, infected skin once in awhile, red dye 40, slight over cooked and crispy apple pie, sugary cereal

Puppins: wet dog, dog dander, oatmeal senstive skin puppy shampoo, chicken, "the dirtest trash she can find to roll in on her walk"

Althea: Old lady, way too strong perfumes, butter biscuits, tea, peppermint candies, more cocaine, "baby powder", lanvender linens, cotton and daisy's Landry detergent.

Feelings/emotions:

Big/serious lies: smell like Gasoline and salty sand near the sea.

Small fibs/playful/ teasing lies: smell like Anise

Lies with decent intentions/are bent truths: smell like honey

Those two are easily mixed up.

Innocent (the person truly believes it. Ex. A child saying dinos are real) truth: smells like thick vanilla creamer.

Filling, whole truths (the person knows for a fact its a truth) smells: like fresh baked rolls/buns

Cancer smells vary like: urine, nail polish remover, some people have a pungent semi sweet smell like rotting fruit, and tar is another smell, depending on which part of the body. If already in late stages, one can smell like cadavers. Even spicy almost.

Pregnant people vary in scent but he can smell the rise of different hormones: Some hormones sweeter then other. If you asked him he would say cinnamon or dying roses. If you're later in your term the scents are more soft like lotion or custard. Lemon ussually.

Serotonin; cheese, lemon cakes, fruity, a bit light, and flakey like a pastry. Marshmellow fluff.

Dopamine; sweet fresh coffee, doritos(?), cocaine. Don't ask why he knows what cocaine smells like. He was alive during coke cocaine.

Endorphins; Sweaty Sex, mint, dark chocolate, violets, chemicals, varies by persons pheromones

Oxytocin; "playful cherries", freshly washed cotton pillows, the warmth of a bath, skin on skin hugs, strawberries

Joy/relaxation/relief: Jasmine, vanilla sugar cookies, fresh soup.

Anger/disapproval/hurt: smoke, the back end of a cigarette, spicy curry, iron, blood, "spoiled raw chicken left out too long"

Fear/excitment/anxiousness: Adrenaline smells like oil, paint, salty pretzels almost.

Tears: Oceans, lillies, fresh water lakes

Eris Week - Day 4 - Hounds and Traditions

I want to start this by sharing what breed I think the smokehounds are based on and judging on the fanart posted today, I know I am not alone.

Greyhounds are known for being sleek, lean, and very fast. They are loyal, highly intelligent, and moderately protective. Greyhounds were bred for hunting small game and bred to pursue. They have been known to chase their prey to exhaustion.

Greyhounds are moderately aggressive but highly protective of their owners when they feel they are being threatened. They make wonderful watchdogs. They are very alert to their surroundings and will indicate to their owners when changes in their environment happen.

Their intelligence also makes them easy to train. I think that's a quality Eris would look for in hounds.

So anyways, why were all here:

Amid the chaos of his life, Eris seeks order and organization. He likes things he can control to be consistent, therefore, he likes themes.

Eris got his first hound when he was 18. He was lonely and wanted a hunting companion and ended up adopting his first puppy.

She was the sweetest little thing. She loves adventures, cuddling, and is always down for the Sunday Spa Night. Her name came to Eris as naturally as breathing : Sugar.

3 years later, he adopted his next little girl, Clove. Then Baylee (for Bay leaf). Then Sage.

Eris prefers female hounds over males. He knows females in nature tend to be more deadly than the males. Lionesses handle the hunts. Female bees the work. Mother bears will slaughter for their cubs. For this reason, he has 8 females 4 males.

Smokehounds work best in groups of four. A leader, 2 flanks, and a follower. Exactly how Eris needs.

He adopts his last four when Lucien is 5. Lucien names them. Cinnamon Toast, Gingersnap, Tator Tot, and Marshmellow.

Eris felt his eye twitching the while time Lucien was picking names, but he could not deny his brother a thing.

When Lucien leaves Autumn and Eris meets his name, they fall in love with the names those four hounds have.

Gingersnap? Perfect for her slightly spicy yet sweet little self.

Tator Tot? Absolutely. This hound is EXACTLY that.

Marshmellow?! For a so rare white smokehound? Be so for real. It's perfect.

And Cinnamon Toast? Little Toast? Perfect name for the brown undertone hound.

The hounds have a magically maintained kennel, but they rarely stay in it.

Eris has large chambers, so the hounds tend to sleep in their with him and his mate. 2 get to share their bed every night.

His hounds all have their own handlers to make sure they get groomed, can play, and are loved when he, his mother, and his mate are unavailable.

Overall, Eris is a 20/10 doggo. May adopt more doggie children later.

I never know if I'm supposed to add my taglist to my headcanons..

December Prompt: Roasting Marshmellows

The fire crackled comfortingly. It’s heat faithfully battling against the cold night’s chill. Lucy still shivered and huddled further into the sweater she’d found a few weeks before.

The Ghoul had been fairly excited earlier, just before the sun had set, when he’d stumbled upon a bag of marshmallows in the shopping mart they’d decided to loot in.

The bag hadn’t even been opened. Tucked away on an abandoned shelf in the corner of the mart.

“Hey, sweetheart, would ya’ look at this?” He’d bent down to snag the bag. Swiveling on his heel to present it to her. An unusually bright smile adorning his radiation-torn face. It had made his eyes sparkle.

Lucy had felt her cheeks warm and she quickly looked away from him and to the bag. “What’d you find?”

“Only some of the most delicious bite-sized pieces of sugar, ever.” He looked so proud of himself and youthful in a way she doubted she’d see again. “I think we should find ourselves a place to stop for the night and start ourselves a fire, ‘fore it gets too cold. What you think?”

“Sounds good to me.” Lucy was internally relieved. She was sure he could clearly see how shaky her sore legs were. How much she had been shivering. The winter months were here and she had never realized just how cold it would be. She could even feel the bite of the air down deep to her bones.

It was one of the most uncomfortable experiences she had faced so far, since coming to the surface. Unlike many of the hardships living up here brought. She was thankful that they were usually temporary.

The cold never stopped. Not since the end of the October month.

It was a wonderful thing when, this night, Ghoul managed to find a place he liked before the hour was up. The man could be so stubborn and picky about their resting spots.

Once done with her side of the camp set-up list, Lucy sat down on a log hidden within their space and watched Ghoul prepare and start the fire.

The first lick of the flames sent soothing warmth through her. Causing her to close her eyes and sigh.

A creak of the wood made her look over to see Ghoul taking a seat next to her. The rough material of his cloak rubbing against the starchy texture of her sweater. He had in his hand a stick from off the ground. The opposite end of it was gently thrust into the fire for a minute, before he opened the marshmallow bag and stuffed one white fluffy piece onto the stick.

“Now this is what we, Cowpoke, call “roasting marshmallows”.” He said with a happy lilt to his voice. Though he continued to smile, his eyes held a tinge of something bittersweet. “I used to take my little girl on camping trips, where we would…”

Lucy smiled and leaned her head to rest on her crossed arms. She was glad that Cooper Howard had begun to feel comfortable enough to let her listen as he reminisced about his daughter, who he loved so much. Even hundreds of years later.

She didn’t have the heart to tell him that she’d made plenty of s’mores growing up in her Vault-tec crafted underground society. Those, too, were warm memories. Of sitting beside her baby brother and getting the chance to teach him how to craft his first s’more when he was little, getting to teach him campfire songs that their dad had taught her, and all the years of memories after that.

Lucy knew how wonderful it was to be able to talk about something good in your life and having someone there willing to listen. Goodness knows, Cooper deserved to be able to take the time to talk about something that went right in his life.

Movie!au Christmas headcannons

Movie!Ninjago Christmas and New Years with the Montgomery-Garmadon family headcannons!!

Montgomery-Garmadon Christmases are HUGE

Everyone gathers at Koko’s parents for a week and even though it’s a massive house, people end up sharing with like three other people in one room

Wu, Morro and Tay are invited because Grandma Montgomery is a huge mama bear and everyone is welcome

Lord G is invited once he redeems himself lol

Lloyd ends up sharing a room with Morro and his 8 year old twin cousins because Koko has like five siblings and they all pumped out kids like it was a hobby

Tay sharing with Koko and Lloyd’s two aunts, and she’s super uncomfortable at first but they include her in the their sibling traditions.

Taylor sucks at baking but they’re impressed by her cooking skills. They also realise how terrible she is at buying Christmas gifts because she always used to only spend Christmas with Skylor, but they end up showing her how to buy and wrap presents (especially for Lloyd)

Putting Christmas decorations up are always a job for the uncles and dads, except Lloyd, Morro and a couple of his other older cousins are recruited and one of them always ends up falling out of a tree putting up Christmas lights

GINGERBREAD HOUSE COMPETITIONS

One of Lloyd’s uncles and his wife always win because they own a bakery and it drives Taylor insane

Always getting asked by great aunts and aunts and wives of uncles if they’re dating and it’s awkward until one year they shrug it off and say yes. No one believes them until they kiss under the mistletoe

Great Nana Mary (the mother of Lloyd’s grandfather on Koko’s side) hides mistletoe everywhere and Taylor would avoid walking with anyone else, especially Lloyd, underneath it

Taylor spending her birthday driving down with Koko, Wu, Lloyd and Morro for the first time and not expecting anything from anyone

getting surprised by Lloyd’s extended family with a cake and a necklace from Lloyd which she wears every Christmas (and a lot more than she admits)

One year when they’re older, one of Lloyd’s uncles and his family go on holiday and Grandma Montgomery assigns a room to Taylor and Lloyd

“don’t have too much fun” and a wiggle of her eye brows

they end up binging Starfarer

DINNER OMG

The first year Tay goes, they’re still considered children and they realise how much the team reminds them of Lloyd’s cousins and second cousins

everyone teaming up to play monopoly after the kids go to bed. Taylor doesn’t understand the game but Lloyd picks her everytime and she enjoys watching Lloyd interact with his family

the guys only win because they tackle their wives and children into defeat

lloyd has done this once to Taylor and it didn’t work because she kicked him in the stomach

DOOZING BY THE FIREPLACE?!? Taylor snuggled against (or on, it depends on the year and the day) Lloyd, regardless of whether they’re together or not, on the floor nestled within blankets and pillows, and a cup of hot chocolate and marshmallows

ROASTING MARSHMELLOWS IN THE BACKYARD

Lloyd’s younger cousins going nuts from the sugar and Taylor watching him chase them around to wear them down

she eventually joins in after a couple years after chasing four year old Lara who is a massive fan of the ninja

specifically the green ninja

Taylor being included in secret Santa by her second year attending and she cried when she got the text

Taylor joining in with the women as they’re cooking and baking

she realises how deep womanhood runs through this family and wishes she had this kind of relationship with her family

Koko notices and practically decides that Taylor is now her daughter

she does this because as much as she loves Lloyd with all her heart, she always wanted to have more children with Garm, especially to have a little girl that could join in with these traditions

the women also go do the last minute shopping and Lloyd and Taylor always get dragged into it by Koko

Taylor deduces that Lloyd is totally considered one of the girls because he loves joining in in everything his mother does

he also secretly loves joining in cooking. Not necessarily the meats or barbecues which his uncles do, but he enjoys baking the desserts and cooking anything else

UGLY SWEATERS!!! Great Nana Mary and Grandma Montgomery spending all of their year knitting Christmas sweaters and it eventually gets divided out onto the aunts and wives

Taylor gets one too and she almost cried

singing Christmas songs!!

KARAOKE

They slay in All I Want For Christmas and they practice leading up to Christmas

Boxing Day where everyone’s a little hungover, a little cold so they watch movies and entertain the children with their new toys

Spending the days between Christmas and new years eating left overs and binging movies

they do go ice skating every year at a lake behind the house

Taylor had no idea how to skate and Lloyd had to teach her

she did get a whole lot of help from the others

Family hockey games!!!

Koko was an ex-hockey player and all of her siblings used to play so every year they have a competition

Taylor never plays and always cheers Lloyd on when he does

Out of curiosity, for Marvolo’s like Jekyll and Hyde moments, does that apply to MC as well?

I know he’s still like completely horrid in those moods to everyone around him even if it’s someone he cares for, but I was curious about it in regards to him with MC specifically since she tends to be his exception to most things 🖤

Or is it more similar to Rowan where there’s really no like “breaking out” of it, just to a slightly lesser degree since he can fake an emotion change?

I feel like this is another one of those questions where I could just give the answer everyone wants to hear like:

"No, he's perfect to MC all the time. It's all sugar and marshmellows"

And don't get me wrong, as a general rule, he is pleasant with her most of the time, aside from teasing, and their more "depraved spiciness" situations. MC is the first person he's ever really loved, so that complicates but also at the same time "helps" the way he CAN get.

But she does fall into the category of "people he will stay away from" when he's in one of his terribly manic and awful moods. She understands this, and Marvolo DOES try his very best not to involve her in these erratic moments he has.

Having said that, MC is very good at bringing him back down from the ledge before its TOO late 9x out of 10 if she can tell something is wrong or knows he's about to have an episode. And again, he does TRY not to fake his emotions around MC.

It's another complex thing, I guess. He wouldn't WANT to be nasty or aggressive to her with the intent to REALLY hurt her. This is why he takes himself off and prefers to be alone when he has crossed the point and does end up having a radical intense mood shift. It's very similar to "Rowans Rage" moments, I suppose.

I also want to make a point in saying that when he's in the Den, doing terrible things, this doesn't mean he's IN one of those episodes every time. But sometimes he is, and those times are the times he'd rather her stay away to let him get it out of his system. He doesn't mind her seeing him doing things in the Den "on a good day," but he doesn't LIKE her seeing him having a BAD episode. If all that makes sense?
