Ember Mclain when she was alive, was a vigilante in Gotham city working side by side with the dynamic duo. Not that she was particularly well liked by them, or the larger hero community on a whole. Just ask any other hero and they'll say that Prima, Ember's hero name, was too attention seeking, unwilling to seek to anyone else, always trying to be the center of attention, and always ruining missions with her need for attention. Needless to say Ember rubbed a lot of heroes the wrong way, especially seeing as that this was early into Bruce taken on Dick Grayson as a ward so none of the heroes really knew how to deal with a teenage vigilante like Ember.

When she had died on a butched mission in a fire the hero community was shocked but not surprised. They kept telling her if she doesn't stop doing things how she normally does something like this would happen. Soon everyone moved on like if a vigilante known as Prima never existed, only slightly traumatized by the death of a child hero.

Now years later while investigating a heavily guarded lab owned by a shady part of the Government known as The Ghost Investigation Ward / the Guys In White the Justice League come across a teenager who liked exactly like Prima dressed up for a show with flaming blue hair and a pink guitar like the one Prima used to own helping a group of teenagers, two adults wearing hazmat suits, and what liked to be metas older teenagers / young adults on a motorcycle in the middle of breaking out a trio of teens and a group of meta verging in ages. The Prima look a like also seemed to be comforting a child none of them could see expect for her, the teens, and the metas.

 There is a small child floating in the Watchtower. 

They’re visibly not human, a too-big cloak of purple (what shade no one knows, all they can describe about the cloak is purple, nothing else) hanging from them as big Lazarus-green eyes glare down in something of a pout. The child huffs, blowing white hair out of their face despite it shimmering and shifting on its own already. 

How the child, inhuman or not, found their way into the Watchtower- without setting off an alarm no less- is a concern. A very large concern, but it can wait because there is a four-year old (if the child is the equivalent of a human child that is) at oldest staring down at them. 

 “Do you know where the speedsters are?” the child piped up after an awkward stare-down, none of the league members present quite sure what to do in this situation. It was probably around time to call Batman… or they could call Flash instead.

The idea that uni protesters are "elitist ivy-league rich kids larping as revolutionaries" on Twitter and Reddit and even here is so fucking funny to me if you actually know anything about the student bodies at these unis. Take it from someone who's going to one of the biggest private unis in the US, 80% of the peers I know are either from the suburbs or an apartment somewhere in America, children of immigrants, or here on a student visa. I've heard about one-percenter students, but I've never met one in person. Like, don't get me wrong, the institution as a whole is still very privileged and white. I've talked with friends and classmates about feeling weird or dissonant being here and coming from such a different background. But in my art program, I see BIPOC, disabled, queer, lower-income students and faculty trying to deconstruct and tear that down and make space every day. So to take a cursory glance at a crowd of student protesters in coalitions that are led by BIPOC & 1st/2nd-gen immigrant students and HQ'd in ethnic housings and student organizations and say, "ah. children of the elite." Get real.

Bruce is the kind of parents teachers hate, because he always takes his child's side. Dick started a fight? His boy would never, the other kid probably started it and deserved it. Jason felt asleep in class? Well, maybe stop being boring. His kids are angels who can do no wrong.

The administration of Gotham Academy was so relieved when Dick graduated because they wouldn't have to deal with Bruce again, only for him to get another one. And once Jason passed away, they felt guilty to be happy to not have to see Bruce again, only for him to show up a year later for Tim. (I know, canonically, Tim went to another school, but this is funny to imagine) He isn't even the kid's guardian, but he justifies it with the absence of Tim's parents at the moment, how he is his neighbour and his son is very close to him, they see each others as brothers!

It's a bit different with Damian because he was raised differently than his siblings and could be quite arrogant at the start, but Bruce still does take his defense when he doesn't have his son's side.

Of course, once he is alone with his boys, he does ask what happens and lecture them if necessary, but in public, he gets protective. It comes from how he remembers feeling as a teen, angry and hurt but nobody listened or understood, just scolded him. He wants his kids to feel understood, to know they can express themselves to him. (It's canon that Bruce saw Jason's aggressivity as Robin as Jason being in pain. In older comics at least). It's also comes from how protective he is in general.

This also happens with the Justice League and other heroes. They have no right to criticize his kids, and he can lecture them himself if they really did something dangerous. Robin punched you? You probably deserved it.

Attacks targeting American public schools over LGBTQ+ rights and education about race and racism cost those schools an estimated $3.2bn in the 2023-24 school year, according to a new report by education professors from four major American universities. The study is believed to be the first attempt to quantify the financial impact of rightwing political campaigns targeting school districts and school boards across the US. In the wake of the pandemic, these campaigns first attempted to restrict how American schools educate students about racism, and then increasingly shifted to spreading fear among parents about schools’ policies about transgender students and LGBTQ+ rights.

Researchers from UCLA, UT Austin, UC Riverside and American University surveyed 467 public school superintendents across 46 US states, asking them about the direct and indirect costs of dealing with these volatile campaigns. Those costs included everything from out-of-pocket payments to hire to lawyers or additional security, to the staff member hours devoted to responding to disinformation on social media, addressing parent concerns and replying to voluminous public records requests focused on the district’s teachings on racism, gender and sexuality. The campaigns that focused on public schools’ policies about transgender students often included lurid false claims about schools trying to change students’ gender or “indoctrinating” them into becoming gay. This disinformation sparked harassment and threats against individual teachers, school board members and administrators, with some of the fury coming from within local communities, and even more angry calls, emails and social media posts flooding in from conservative media viewers across the country.

In addition to the financial costs of responding to these targeted campaigns, the study revealed other dynamics, the researchers said. “The attack on public officials as pedophiles was one I heard again and again, from people across extremely different parts of the country: rural, urban, suburban. It speaks to the way that this really is a nationalized conflict campaign,” said John Rogers, an education professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the lead author of the study. The frequency with which both school board members and school superintendents were “being called out as sexual predators – it was really frightening”, Rogers said. Superintendents from across the country told the researchers how these culture battles had affected their schools, and cut into resources they would have preferred to spend on education.

[...] While disagreement, debate and dealing with angry parents are a normal part of local public school administration, the researchers noted, the political campaigns that schools have faced in recent years have been anything but normal. Many of them have been driven by “a small number of active individuals on social media or at school board meetings”, and fueled by misinformation. Public schools across the US burned up nearly $3.2BN worth of money fending off right-wing culture war items such as book bans, anti-LGBTQ+ extremism, anti-student inclusion, and anti-racial equity policies.

In this timeline yuu gets the yutu experience! Reader was in twisted wonderland till their late teens to early 20s which is long enough for crewel to boink them at least once.

When they're back to the normal world only then do they show signs of pregnancy; that's how our dear yuu came into existence.

Imagine crewel's perspective

You meet this goody two shoes and butt heads many times. You then learn that the reason why they act like the headmaster's puppy is because the only place they have is the ramshackle dorm. So you keep your distance and mind your business. Over years you get closer, through academic work, even start falling for them. On the edge of graduation, you decide to take them out. You're finally official! Graduation goes by, they move in with you. You guys have sex ONE time and then poof! They're gone the moment you leave for work.

Years later you advance your career and magical prowess and are now a teacher.A kid crashes the sorting ceremony with their familiar, The kid strangely resembles you.

Oh you know I considered doing this when I was outlining the fic. The timeline didn't exactly add up so I decided against it... but oooh you are so close to what I have in mind for Crewel and Reader's relationship dynamic:

It's a rivalmance of sorts... You certainty can't stand Divus when you meet him. He's a chain smoking, class class cutting bully who picks a fight the first time he sees you and then decides you're "friends" after you punch him in the face. You fight, make up, throw each other under the bus, lie to protect one another, and get defensive if anyone else tries to pull the same shit with the other. It gets more playful and less serious as the years go by, enough that if you were still there when someone asked you about how you got together you could laugh about it.

The main difference between Reader and Yuu in the Fyuutere kid Au is that you do still have your memories when you get home. If you came back with a child, you would know exactly why. Yuu learns a bit about their dad, enough that when they crash land in Twisted Wonderland and see Crewel for the first time math starts mathing in their head. Crewel on the other hand... he places a big emphasis on professionalism. Sure, this kid looks like you, says your name and calls you their parent. But he can't think of them as his, sure the math adds up and he sees himself in Yuu, but he is so determined to treat them like he would any other student that he ignores it.

That's not to say he wouldn't want it to be true though... he desperately does. Divus is still not over you, and he's sort of accepted that he probably never will be; at this point it is about enjoying his life and not obsessing over what could have been. When he learns the truth about Yuu that changes, he's very determined not to let them disappear like you did and to find a way to bring you back to Twisted Wonderland. If we keep with what I am planning for the fic he's extra determined to do that when he hears about your current fiancé and how much Yuu hates him. Not because he's jealous, don't be silly it's been years he just doesn't want to have to share custody across dimensions that sounds complicate-

It's because of jealousy, he can deny it all he likes but he's still a hot head deep down.

The world is divided into four groups. Yanderes, canon fodder, extras, and darlings. There are also people who very rarely fall into two categories. Yanderes obsessed over there darlings and were at the top of the world. Cannon fodders were average people who die. Extras were average people got to live and not die at the hands of Yanderes. Darlings were obsessed over by Yanderes. All darlings get a collar to signify they are a darling. The collar contains a chip telling everyone who there Yandere or Yanderes are when scanned when claimed by a Yandere. Everyone finds out what group or groups they belong to at 18 with a test and that is when darlings get there collar.

Y/n L/n is from a long line of Yanderes. She looked forward to being a Yandere and finding her one true love, and murdering anyone who gets in her way. She was excited when her 18th birthday came and she took her test. She was sure she excelled at her exam and would be a Yandere.

When she got her results she was excited. She immediately tore it open but out of the envelope fell not only test results but a collar too, a darling collar with the name Y/n engraved on the tag. Y/n paled.

That could not be right. She had to be a Yandere. Either they put in a collar by mistake or she was rare yandere/Darling hybrid. It had to be one of those two things. She quickly grabbed the letter.

Dear Ms. Y/n L/n,

We are happy to inform you that you are a darling. In closed in the envelope is your darling collar. You are required to put it on immediately upon reading this letter. It must be kept on at all times afterwards.

Y/n screeched. "No. This cannot be right.", yelled Y/n. She started balling up the results. She was about to throw them and the collar away when someone grabbed her wrist.

She growled and turned around to see her brother, Johnathan, and his two friends, Orion and Callix. Johnathan was a yandere and so was Callix while Orion was a yandere/Darling hybrid. "Let me go. The test results can not be right.", hissed Y/n.

Jonathan looks at the objects in her hands. "(Favorite nickname), that is not true. If it says you are a darling you are darling. Now put on your collar. If you don't I'll have to punish you.", says Y/n's brother. Y/n shakes her head no.

Callix snatches the collar from Y/n's grasp. "Hey.", she yells as the collar is shoved onto her. The three males smile at her though. "There. You look so cute in your darling collar, brat. Some Yandere will scoop you up spoil you soon enough.", says Callix.

Y/n growls. She wretches away from them. She runs out the front door while trying to yank off the collar.
