The Firstborn Daughterās Burden
I was the first to feel the weight, Of promises made and hands of fate. They poured their dreams into my skin, A tapestry of all theyād been.
Their hopes were stars I tried to reach, Yet each one brought its own new breach. They called me strong, but never knew, The nights I wore the darkest hue.
I held their worries, their silent fears, Wrapped them in smiles, swallowed the tears. I learned to be brave before my time, Stepping back when the bell would chime.
For every dream, I held my breath, Fearful of failureās heavy depth. Would I meet the mark, would I be enough? Would they see me behind the tough?
The rules were strict, the lines so tight, A fragile girl beneath the fight. But being first meant leading through, When they stumbled, I had to too.
I made mistakes that cut like glass, Their echoes lingered, slow to pass. Yet they would say to those who came, "Be more like her"āand call my name.
So I bit my tongue and swallowed pride, Played the part of the constant guide. I walked the path no one had paved, A trail of doubts Iād never saved.
And when my sisters, brothers fell, I stood tall, a ringing bell. Silent strength they could rely, But oh, how many times Iād cry.
For sometimes I longed to just let go, To drift along where rivers flow. To be the child, to drop the shield, To lay down arms upon the field.
Yet still, I rise and still I stand, With gentler hearts held in my hand. For every weight that pulls me low, Is the love that taught me how to grow.

š¢ I'm Back & Ready to Rise! š«
For the past few months, Iāve been quieter than usualānavigating challenges, facing fears, and learning when to speak and when to hold back. But silence doesnāt mean absence. Sometimes, itās in the quiet that we gain the most clarity.
Thereās been a lot happening behind the scenes, both personally and in my mission, with Nova Vita Rising. As many of you know, this space was created for women...especially single mothers and survivors of domestic violence, who are reclaiming their power and building a new life. I know firsthand what itās like to face deep struggles, to feel like youāre constantly fighting battles unseen by the world, and to wonder if youāll ever truly be free.
But hereās the truth: You are stronger than you think. Your past does not define you. Your healing is not just possible...itās inevitable when you choose to keep moving forward.
Why I Took a Step Back
Healing isnāt always loud. Sometimes, the most powerful moments happen in the silence. I had to take time to reflect, to listen to my own heart, and to make sure that when I returned, I was doing so from a place of power and purpose, not fear.
I know many of you are in the same place wanting to speak up but afraid of what might happen if you do. Afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or even retaliated against. If thatās you, I want you to know:
- Silence doesnāt mean weakness...it means strategy. Sometimes, holding back is the smartest thing you can do.
- Healing isnāt linear. Some days youāll feel strong, and others youāll need to pause and thatās okay.
- You are never alone. No matter how isolated you feel, there is a community of women here who see you, understand you, and are rising alongside you.
Whatās Coming Next?
Now that Iām back, Iām stepping into this space with even more intention. Over the next few weeks, Iāll be sharing:
š Insights on healing, resilience, and overcoming trauma
š Practical tools to help you rebuild your life with confidence
š Real talk about self-worth, setting boundaries, and finding your voice
š Ways to stay strong even when everything feels against you
This is more than just a social media platform...itās a movement. Nova Vita Rising isnāt just about surviving. Itās about rising.
#Join Me on This Journey
If youāve been struggling, if you feel unheard, if speaking up feels like a risk...you are still growing, even in the silence. And Iām here, walking this journey with you.
If this resonates with you, drop a š in the comments or share this with someone who needs to hear it. Letās rise together.
Your past doesnāt define you. Your strength does. Keep going, keep rising.

How does Christās example of suffering apply to us today
The Silent Strength of Christ: Lessons on Restraint and Grace
When life throws injustice our way, our natural instinct is often to fight back, defend ourselves, or retaliate. Yet, in 1 Peter 2:23, we see Christ demonstrating a revolutionary response to suffering: silence. He chose not to retaliate when wronged, entrusting Himself to God. This response wasnāt weaknessāit was divine strength. Today, letās explore how Christās silent strength offers us a powerful lesson on grace and trust.

1. Silence Speaks Louder Than Words
1 Peter 2:23 says, āWho, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously.ā Christ didnāt engage in arguments with His accusers. Instead, His calm and composed silence reflected unwavering confidence in God.
This kind of silence isnāt passiveāitās purposeful. It demonstrates trust in Godās ability to bring justice. In our daily lives, responding with silence can sometimes be the most powerful statement we make.
Practical Example:
Imagine being unfairly criticized at work. Instead of reacting defensively, you calmly continue your tasks. Your silence can shift the atmosphere and showcase your faith in a higher power to vindicate you.
2. The Power of Grace Under Pressure
When Christ was mocked, beaten, and crucified, He chose grace over retaliation. This radical response to injustice is a hallmark of His character and a model for us to follow. Grace under pressure shows spiritual maturity and strength.
How to Apply Grace Under Pressure:
Pray for those who mistreat you (Matthew 5:44).
Choose words of kindness, even when tempted to retaliate.
Lean on Godās Word to remind you of His justice and mercy.
3. Trusting God to Handle the Outcome
Christās silence wasnāt about ignoring the injustice but entrusting it to God. He fully relied on the Fatherās righteous judgment. This teaches us that we donāt have to fight every battle ourselves. Instead, we can rest in the assurance that God sees everything and will bring justice in His time.
Key Scriptures for Trusting God in Injustice:
Romans 12:19: āVengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.ā
Proverbs 3:5: āTrust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.ā
4. Silence as a Witness to Others
When we respond to trials with grace and silence, it leaves a lasting impression on those around us. Itās a testimony of faith and trust in God. Peter reminds us in 1 Peter 2:12 that our actions among unbelievers can glorify God. How we handle adversity speaks volumes about our faith.
Real-Life Testimony: Think of a time when you witnessed someone endure hardship with poise and faith. Their example likely inspired you. By following Christās example, we can inspire others to seek the peace and strength found in Him.
Conclusion
Christās silent strength is a powerful example for us today. When faced with injustice, we can choose grace, trust in God, and let our actions speak louder than words. Silence isnāt about giving up; itās about giving the situation to God, knowing He will handle it.
āFor even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his stepsā (1 Peter 2:21, KJV).

Master the Art of Silence for Stronger Connections š¤«š«
Knowing when to stay silent is powerful. Silence isn't about holding back; it's about choosing peace over conflict. Here are 7 times when silence can strengthen relationships and prevent regrets:
When the story is incomplete.
When emotions are running high.
In moments of anger.
If words could hurt someone.
If it risks a friendship.
When it's hard to speak calmly.
When silence can save a relationship.

OK
Ok so. I want to take the GRE to apply for Grad school to eventually get a PhD so that I can finally start doing what I love. At the same time I want to make enough money to be comfortable. I want to spend time with friends and go on adventures. I want to learn another language. I want to pick up yoga. I want to be so healthy my body and mind are as share as a 20 yr old when iām 90. I want it all and anything I can think of later on.
What I donāt want is the questions and the condemnation of how impractical it is to do this or that. I donāt want to do it your way. But I donāt want to argue so OK. OK is all I can say to you while inside, ever so quietly iāll say iāll show you.
