On June 21, 2021, at 4:26 PM, Deputy Bostick was dispatched to 316 MLK Street in Baconton in response to a report of a vehicle's window being shot. Upon arrival, Deputy Bostick contacted Mrs. Huntley, who reported hearing a loud bang while inside her house and subsequently discovering the back glass of her vehicle, parked by the road, shattered.

Deputy Bostick and Investigator Brooks arrived at the scene and observed several people outside. They found no bullet fragments near or inside the vehicle but noticed two males on a front porch across from the incident, one of whom was identified as Mr. Johntaven Simmons. Mr. Simmons reported hearing a gunshot but did not know its direction.

Investigator Brooks located the impact point on the vehicle and collected evidence, including a silver, rust-colored dust in the dent. Surveillance cameras on the side of the house captured footage of the incident, showing a tan or brown vehicle pulling up nearby and a black male in all black exiting the vehicle, walking towards the road, and then returning to the car with a gun in hand after the glass breakage.

Upon reviewing the video, Deputy Bostick and Investigator Brooks noticed that Mr. Simmons' clothing matched that of the individual in the footage. Mr. Simmons became frustrated during questioning and refused to answer further questions. A bullet casing was found near the scene, matching the gun seen in the video.

The video was sent to Investigator Brooks for further analysis, which helped in identifying the shooter. Mr. Simmons was arrested at 321 MLK Street after his clothing was matched to that in the video. He surrendered a 9MM gun that matched the casing found. Mr. Simmons was charged with Reckless Conduct, Obstruction Of Officers, and Discharge of a Gun or Pistol Near a Public Highway or Street, and was transported to Mitchell County Jail by Deputy Wilson.

کراچی (جی سی این رپورٹ)پاکستان میں اسٹریٹ کرائم اور ڈکیتی کی وارداتوں میں بہت کم ایسا دیکھا گیا ہے کہ ملزمان اپنے ٹارگٹ سے کسی طور پر متاثر ہوئے ہوں اور اسے لوٹا گیا سامان واپس کرکے گلے لگایا ہو۔لیکن حال ہی میں کراچی میں اسٹریٹ کرائم کی ایک واردات کی سی سی ٹی وی فوٹیج سوشل میڈیا پر کافی وائرل ہورہی ہے جسے دیکھنے والے شہری اسٹریٹ کرمنلز کے ہمدردانہ رویے سے بہت متاثر ہورہے ہیں۔ سی سی ٹی وی فوٹیج میں فوڈ ڈیلیوری بوائے کو گلی میں واردات کا نشانہ بنتے دیکھا جاسکتا ہے، ڈیلیوری بوائے گاہک سے پیسے لے کر جیسے ہی موٹر سائیکل کی طرف آتا ہے تو موٹر سائیکل پر سوار 2 ملزمان پہنچ کر اسے اسلحہ کے زور پر یرغمال بنالیتے ہیں۔ویڈیو میں دیکھا جا سکتا ہے کہ ایک ملزم نوجوان سے نقد رقم، موبائل فون اور دیگر چیزیں چھین لیتا ہے جب کہ اس دوران فوڈ ڈیلیوری رائیڈر نے ملزمان کو کچھ کہا اور رونے لگ گیا۔

اس دوران نوجوان سے لوٹ مار کرنے والے ملزم کو شاید اس پر ترس آگیا اور چھینی ہوئی تمام چیزیں رائیڈر کو نہ صرف واپس کیں بلکہ اسے گلے بھی لگایا۔سی سی ٹی وی فوٹیج میں دیکھا جا سکتا ہے کہ موٹر سائیکل چلانے والا ملزم بھی رائیڈر سے ہاتھ ملاتا ہے اور ملزمان جاتے فوڈ ڈیلیوری بوائے سے پھر ہاتھ ملاتے ہیں اور اس کے ساتھ ہی اس کے کندھے پر ہاتھ رکھ کر تھپتھپاتے ہیں۔ ملزمان کے جانے کے بعد بھی رائیڈر کو روتا ہوا دیکھا گیا۔خیال رہے کہ سوشل میڈیا پر انسانیت کے نام سے یہ ویڈیو وائرل ہورہی ہے تاہم پولیس حکام کے مطابق یہ معلوم نہیں ہوسکا کہ یہ ویڈیو کراچی کی ہے تو شہر کے کس تھانے کی حدود کی ہے۔ Read the full article

It’s strange how different areas make you see people differently - my mum was mugged several times when living in a pretty bad area in London in the 80s, and when she moved to the south-west to a more rural area, was super suspicious when people would smile at her and say hello. She always used to laugh about how when she first moved to Cornwall, someone said good morning to her in the post office and asked her her name because she was “new in the area”, and she responded with, “what do you want from me?!”.  Took her a while but apparently after that incident it hit her people were just... being nice.
