Looks I have a fair amount of beefs with the Young Justice TV Show, but my biggest beef is why the fuck the took Kon away form his team? The 1st Gen of “The Team” is Literally a Titans Lineup that they threw Superboy into and then the 2nd Gen was ACTUALLY YOUNG JUSTICE WITHOUT KON. Literally for what reason was there to seperate Kon from Bart Tim and Cassie?! It literally makes NO SENSE

can't believe a show based on a videogame (usually games adaptations are notoriously bad, which isn't the case here tho) gave me the beauty and the beast/twisted mirrors/enemies to traveling companions/ruthless antihero+optmistic but still badass heroine who takes none of his shit/age gap but make it sexy dynamic of my dreams. as much as i love maximus and i think he deserves the best writing ever because 1. he's a clever deconstruction of the aspiring Knight bro who's actually a bit of a loser and, as much as lucy, sees the world in black&white at first and then doesn't get what he thought he wanted but what he needs (or at least i hope he'll eventually get it), and 2. he's a cutie and i want an epic love story for him too, it's very funny how they tried to give us a puppy kind of romance and the tumblr girlies still fixated on the "toxic ~she bites his finger off and he cuts hers off and sews it on his hand in what we'll pretend it's a symbolic marriage rings exchange or whatever~ asshole who used to be a nice guy/good girl™ with a lot of spunk and hidden anger but unshakeable morals" kind of relationship.

i need sam and celia to work out.

i dont mean that in the "they both live happily ever after and both survive" no they can die if that is what the plot requires, i just need their relationship to be okay. no petty drama or miscommunications that do nothing for either characters or plot other than be interesting

obviously the whole "alice not being over her and sams relationship" makes for good samalicelia shipping fuel and character-wise it is an interesting view into both of their characters, but i will be genuinely upset if it turns into a boring "which one will sam choose" romantic side plot

i can handle arguments, i can handle the realism of trauma and difficult situations making it difficult to maintain healthy relationships. what i cant handle is throwing away potential for a cheap shock, like we've seen in so many love stories before. what i also dont want is an unrealistic narrative that prioritises a relationship over a story

tma done their relationships very well, where the love was real, and at times it improved characters mentalities and helped develop them as their own people, but no matter how much they loved one another, it didn't save the world, and it didn't change fate. jon and daisy turned into monsters, martin and basira had to kill the people they loved most, sasha disappeared, and tim lost his brother, then himself. their love was never world-saving, and whats done would be done by the end of the day, but their love was real, and thats what made it compelling

as a fan of the characters, of course i want them to have a happy ending, and for everything to work out for them in the end, but as a fan of the show? i want it to hurt. i want to be devastated by these characters whose love was enough to bandage the wound but not enough to heal it

They start sleeping at the sameish time, it's such a perfect excuse to go over to their cute partners and be tender before bed how could they not?

Because of this, Mc, Lars, and Ayns' shitty sleep schedule gets fixed

Cael isn't around so much but you know they get weekly texts from him that says the sweetest things ever

Lars pampers his stunning partners so well when he's finally free, candlelit dinners, gifts in the droves for all of them, even arranging so the place is basically empty when they get there since most of them don't like crowds

All of them are banned from playing ludo. This is final after the incident

Since Cael was officially the last one to get in Clarence planned a whole thing that was a celebration of him getting out of denial phase. And the announcement he also had a plus of four boyfriends

Confusion did not even begin to describe the expression the man had

Sometimes if people are nosy Ayn would start talking about different partners in the same conversation

"Oh you know my boyfriend's really cute with those doe-eyes"

"BOYFRIEND?"

"Yes, anyway my girlfriend the other day gave me this-"

Chaos ensues.

He doesn't care about the rumors though. He's noticed how his playing changed ever so slightly when thinking about his partners. In the span of a week after this noticeable change he found himself writing 5 different pieces for them.

He gives them the pieces by the time of their anniversary, mentioning he'd even play it for them if they wanted.

A private concert happened that day, it didn't need to be recorded to be engraved into their memories.

A while after that, the little painter and Emerald both released pieces that felt like they were overflowing with love and other warm sentiments.

Alkaid sends photos of the sky every time an observation night comes up in the astronomy department. He makes notes about which constellations remind him of his partners the most.

Obviously if any of them point a photo out or say one is pretty it's going to be printed out in the universal imaging studio

The starry photos are all probably framed and hung on a wall somewhere. Ayn has them in his hideout, Lars has the images upsized and on full display in his home, Clarence has one particularly sentimental one on the desk of the student council office, Cael has it as his phone background so he could see it wherever he went, and MC has it in her studio, always up to give her a boost of inspiration when she needed it.

William almost has a heart-attack every morning since Clarence has been looking the giddiest he's ever been since he and MC started dating.

He figures it out since Clarence is just so obvious. He's had the same reaction to two students that he has with the little painter. The way that his eyes light up whenever Ayn 'just so happens' to need to go to the student council so many times? And their conversations meander and flow too slowly for this to even be about their original topic anymore.

Or how he manages to write up an excuse to 'supervise' the Astronomy Department's viewing nights most of the time when he felt no need to previously, always found near Alkaid most of the time.

If one were to sneak a peek at his diary, it would probably contain paragraphs upon paragraphs of how pretty his partners were and things they did or things he saw that reminded him of them.

Cael was the most cautious about this entire arrangement. While he cared about her he had no idea if it would even be possible for him to catch feelings for the rest of them.

Unfortunately, the little painter has exceptional taste.

It was different for each of them, but it ended back in the same giant mess he has been dealing with for the past few months: He's so very attached to all of these charming men that he's caught himself blushing at the thought of them.

And these feelings came with the problems of someone like him developing such deep fondness for someone. The danger and chance of discovery he would give not just to the little painter, but the paragons of this world.

When he brings this concern up he's very lovingly shown how stupid he is by the sheer willingness of his boyfriends to love him despite knowing all of this.

Maybe this would be alright. They have each other no matter what afterall.

Valicer Multiamory Month, Day Eleven: Home (Multiplayer Wonderland AU)

The inexorable march of Multiamory March (har har) (by @polyamships) continues onward today -- this time with another one of the alternative prompts subbed in for the regular one! Because I couldn't really think of anything I wanted to do with the given Day 11 prompt, "pining" --

But when I took another look at the alternative prompts, my brain immediately latched onto "home" and went "what about a story about the Multiplayer Wonderland group exploring their newly-built house together?" :D And so here we are, with the fivesome of Alice, Smiler, Victor, Victoria, and Emily doing just that. Shout-out to Chapter 5 of PlayerPiano's "Love Stories" Corpse Bride fanfic for what I'm sure was the subconscious inspiration for this idea! Hope you all enjoy!

“So – what do you think?”

“It’s wonderful,” Alice said, running her fingers along the ivy pattern in the parlor wallpaper. “I know we all had a hand in designing the place, but – there’s seeing your house on paper, and then seeing it in real life.”

“I know,” Smiler agreed, patting a plush couch. “This is amazing.” They glanced over at Victor with a little smirk. “Dare I ask how much it cost?”

“No more than my parents could afford,” Victor replied, smirking back. “Trust me, they barely felt us dipping into their wallet. In fact, Mother hinted that she could have done with us spending more.”

“Really? This place is already pretty damn big.”

“You’ve seen my family’s mansion – Mother wanted us to go even bigger.” He rolled his eyes. “Probably hoping to show off just how much canned fish could buy to the Everglots.”

“To be fair, it buys a lot – certainly more than we could, before my marriage to you,” Victoria remarked, looking around. “Though, actually, I’m pretty sure my mother is also pleased we live somewhere so big as well. Perhaps it softens the blow of me taking such a step down in status.”

“Well, bully for them,” Alice said, folding her arms. “If it stops them giving us grief about Smiler, Emily, and myself living with you, I’m all for them thinking you’re into conspicuous consumption.”

“Perhaps they just think we’ll be better hidden away from society in all these rooms,” Emily joked, bouncing in place. “Oh, but it is so nice for all of us to have a bit of space to ourselves! I really didn’t expect you to actually give me a room just for dancing!”

“We know how much you love it,” Victoria said, smiling as she looped her arm through Emily’s. “And if I got a room for sewing, and Victor for his piano, and Alice for her drawing, and Smiler for their chemistry…”

“Which, I love how you put that up in the turret,” Smiler said, grinning. “Makes me feel like a wizard in a tower.”

“Which is ironic, given that was always Victor’s favorite game to play back when we were small,” Alice chuckled. “But yes, it really is lovely to have a space that’s all mine. And a house that’s all – ours.” She blinked some sudden wetness out of her eyes, then laughed. “Certainly blows my initial sketches out of the water.”

“To be fair, Alice, you drew those when we were eight,” Smiler reminded her, ruffling her hair. “And when there was only three of us to worry about.”

“And it was still a very nice house,” Victor agreed. “Though...I wouldn’t be opposed to this one making its way into Wonderland now.”

Alice grinned as the vines on the wall sprouted rainbow-colored flowers. “I’ll see what I can do.”

it's cross ship/crack ship day!!! I had to combine two of my favourite pieces of media for this one, so we have Karnak and The Narrator from Slay The Princess!! they just make sense what can I say 🤷

AAAAAA, OKAY-- @persephone-s-moon I could not find their updated refs for the life of me, so, woe, busted old concept art be upon ye. (Excuse the wonky proportions, these were done on my phone.)

Shortest rundown I can manage:

Did someone order a tragic throuple with time-travel/reincarnation shenanigans and a side of hurt/comfort/fluff?

Candavata Bhatia: Elven queen, from the kingdom of Sona, and the baddest bitch to ever live. In order to prove herself worthy of holding the crown over her sisters, she needed to channel one of the gods. So, not only did she channel one, she called upon Bijalee, the embodiment of lightning and storms--and the most difficult one to channel due to her wild and hazardous nature. She has been the only person to do so, aside from the First Queen. This earned her the titles of Storm Bringer and Lightning Tamer. She and Qamar are married and have been best friends since childhood. Can you tell I love her?

(Side note: Editing this on my laptop and holy ashy tone, Batman. Hoping it's just my screen because my girl does NOT look like this, I promise--)

Qamar Abn awaa: Werejackal prince, devout cleric of Layl, goddess of the night and medicine, and the definition of the "I'm a healer, but--" meme. He managed to show both great power and promise from an early age when, during a political visit to the Sona royal court, he used his knowledge of anatomy to turn one of Candavata's would-be assassins inside out. This is where he and Candi's marriage was arranged. He is of a generally very sunny disposition, which often makes people underestimate him, as they assume he's useless in serious situations--but, when shit hits the fan, he's the one you want to be next to. (I started designing him when I did not understand how to map out locs or braids. Qamar, my prince, I am so sorry, I swear I will do right by you and fix whatever monstrosity I gave you.)

Vincenzo Virago: Vampire duke. The intersection of an emotionally constipated killing machine and massive nerd failure. He's head over heels for both Candi and Qamar, but he doesn't feel like he can tell them, due to the fact that he views himself as unlovable, both wanting and growing jealous of them. (He is completely oblivious to the fact that they are also in love with him.) He's terrified of turning into his father, but it seems like everything he does only turns him further down that path. He's a warlord. He's a wet cat. He needs therapy.

It's a stable, constant dynamic. You never see one without the other. Where Qamar goes, Candi is right beside him, and Vince is right behind them. Whenever something goes wrong, usually they're at the center of it, all having different roles in the trouble. Candi, the planner, Qamar, the keen lookout, and Vince, the instigator. He keeps the two of them grounded, on their toes, and they do what they can to keep him away from his father. Even after they graduate and take their places in their respective castes, they stay in touch.

The story itself begins at the worst part of their relationship.

At this point, Candavata and Qamar have been married and are tending to their responsibilities as king and queen of their joined empire. Though they try to stay in touch with Vincenzo, it's difficult--and Vince doesn't make it easy, either. Over the years, he becomes withdrawn. He stops answering their letters, he refuses to see them when they come in person, every time. After a while, they stop trying. Not because they don't love him, they do, but there's only so much you can do when a person doesn't want (or doesn't think they deserve) help.

Vincenzo, after years of sitting with the jealousy and battling his father's horrendous treatment, broke. He didn't just spiral, he nose-dived, doubling down on every bit of gossip and rumor, until he's changed and warped into something even he can't recognize. He shuts out Candi and Qamar. Maybe he doesn't want to taint them, maybe he thinks this is how it was meant to go, maybe he can't stand their gentle hands or the pitying look in their eyes. Maybe he just wants the excuse. Whatever it is, Vincenzo becomes a monster, with blood on his hands.

In the end, Candi and Qamar had to be the ones to put him down.

Which is where we get into the time/reincarnation fuckery.

Because, when the pain fades and Vincenzo opens his eyes, expecting to see whatever eternal damnation looks like, he sees his university bedroom. Littered with textbooks and letters from Candi and Qamar, and his graduation robes hanging on the back of the door.

He's got a second chance to go back and unfuck everything, but only time will tell if he'll succeed or end up exactly where he was before.

Something, something, breaking cycles and being open with your loved ones, allowing yourself to be loved by others and yourself, and sometimes men are at their best covered in blood and a little bit pathetic.

(Oh, and, you want a really fun fact? Vince isn't the only one who remembers the original timeline.)

Neon future Hiram is a bit less unhinged because he had time to think about the consequences of his actions (three consecutive Falls will do that to a person). His goals are more good than neutral but he's still playing an intricate 5D chess game most of the time, he just toned down the chaos because he can't afford to lose more cities.

He owns a casino and he's pretty much the same chaotic bastard, but he genuinely tries his best to help anyone who asks for assistance. Just don't gamble against him, don't ask too many questions, and whatever happens do not remove his glasses.
