Iceland is 1.05% as big as the USA.
It’s 2 power grids for the country are running 20.12 terawatts
As opposed to
Texas power grid that is running around 8,700 megawatts right now
Makes you say hmmmmm how come our power grid hasn’t been modernized since the 80’s?

As a lot of you may have heard about scientists being arrested for protesting and trying to warn us about climate change.
This problem has been ignored continuously plus the distractions that has happened like covid, Ukraine and Russia, etc. The government has been hiding this from us continuously and it’s time we make a move. A lot of us like I might not even become adults before and irreversible damage hits the earth.
Scientists have been trying to warn us for decades (even when I was not alive), but no one listens. We all need to make a move before what the scientists words come true and we do lose everything. However, we are merely just people we aren’t the big ones like the government one of us trying to make a difference will not make an ounce difference. We all need to help stop climate change. Help stop fossil fuels because the longer it continues the faster the earth’s damage will no longer be fixable in our hands.
I’m terrified and you all should be too. I might not even make it to 20. My brother might not make it to 10. In the end all of us will suffer. The government doesn’t care. Most of them have lived their lives and probably won’t be here when everything has turned into dust.
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY AND START ACTING UP.

For every day that passes, this conclusion receives further confirmation: the ruling classes of this world are constitutionally incapable of responding to the catastrophe in any other way than by expediting it. Unfortunately, COP26 did not produce any compelling reasons to revise that conclusion. Less than a week after the end of the summit, the Biden administration held the largest federal offshore drilling auction in US history.
There is little to suggest that any other government signing the Glasgow Pact will behave differently.
So what do we do?
We could destroy the machines that destroy this planet. If someone has planted a time bomb in your home, you are entitled to dismantle it. More to the point, if someone has placed an incendiary device inside the high-rise building where you live, and if the foundations are already on fire and people are dying in the cellars, then many would believe that you have an obligation to put the device out of action.
[...]
We are deep into the catastrophe; the hour is late, but the escalation has only just begun. We don’t know what exactly will work. The one thing we can be certain of is this: we are in a death spiral, we have to break out of it, and we must try something more. The days of gentle protest may be long over.
If you’re curious about what may work - stopfossilfuels.org offers a starting point.

Trying to shop plastic free can be extremely overwhelming. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It seems like nearly everything is wrapped in plastic; even tin cans are lined with an epoxy resin. Bring cloth bags to shop in bulk and try to expand your knowledge of fruits and veg 🍃. Non-traditional grocery stores can also be a great option, gamers markets as well. So next time you need groceries, try something new. Remember where plastic comes from, the dangers to your health and it’s potentially devastating impacts on the environment. Every decision matters. What are your favorite ways to shop without plastic? #reduceplasticwaste #shopinbulk #sustainablesolutions #stopfossilfuels #planetoverprofit #ampliphi #plasticsucks #stopsucking #changeyourroutine #useless #minimalism #sustainability #ecofriendly #singleusesucks #endplasticpollution #nomoreplastic #sociallyaware #gogreen https://www.instagram.com/p/BumV0JwHh2L/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=6katdhwdgtxe

#TOXIC: 4 descriptions below of what #acidrain 💧 does for the #Environment 🌱 which is not sustainable, #Everyone! 😟 1. "Acid rain results when sulfur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOX) are emitted into the atmosphere and transported by wind and air currents. The SO2 and NOX react with water, oxygen and other chemicals to form sulfuric and nitric acids. These then mix with water and other materials before falling to the ground. While a small portion of the SO2 and NOX that cause acid rain is from natural sources such as volcanoes, most of it comes from the burning of fossil fuels". 👉 https://www.epa.gov/acidrain/what-acid-rain 2. "Acid rain is the term commonly used by scientists to describe rain that is abnormally acidic. What does that mean? Well, plain distilled water, like that used in laboratories, is neutral (not acidic or basic). Since rain naturally has things dissolved in it, it will always be slightly acidic. However, when rain reacts with certain air pollutants, such as sulfur or nitrogen oxides, the water vapor converts into very diluted forms of sulfuric or nitric acids. The acidity of this rain is on par with that of grapefruit juice, which may not seem like much, but is much more caustic than plain water. The main sources of pollutants that trigger acid rain are vehicles and industrial and power-generating plants. The areas of greatest acidity are in the northeastern United States. This pattern of high acidity is caused by the large number of cities, the dense population, and the concentration of power and industrial plants in the Northeast. In addition, the prevailing wind direction brings storms and pollution to the Northeast from the Midwest". 👉 https://www.usgs.gov/mission-areas/water-resources/science/acid-rain?qt-science_center_objects=0#qt-science_center_objects 3. "Acid rain is made up of highly acidic water droplets due to air emissions, most specifically the disproportionate levels of sulphur and nitrogen emitted by vehicles and manufacturing processes. It is often called acid rain as this concept contains many types of acidic precipitation". 👉 https://byjus.com/chemistry/acid-rain/ 4. "Acid rain is caused by both human and natural sources. Natural causes include volcanoes, lightning, and decaying plant and animal matter. In the United States, fossil-fuel combustion is the primary cause of acid rain.2". 👉 https://www.treehugger.com/acid-rain-overview-and-prevention-3878348 #fossilfuelfree #gogreen #MMV #nomore #stopfossilfuels

#Repost from our Totally Awesome Conservationist friend... @thesharkwarrior @download.ins --- It’s normally a beautiful walk to the wreck on Noordhoek Beach but on Saturday it was different. Thousands of seals are dying on our West coast - they appear to have suffered from malnutrition. Only last week I researched and wrote a post about why this was happening. I did not, however, expect to find so many of them lying scattered along Noordhoek beach, far south from where most are reported. Adults as well as pups, every few metres another one - a few were marked as part of the counting efforts but most were not. I stopped taking photos eventually as there were just too many. In times gone by to see one dead seal on a beach was an occasional sight, and while this is nothing like the piles of dead seals further north, it tells the same story. There’s something seriously going wrong in our oceans, and while scientist are still trying to pin point the cause, looking at the possibility of avian flu, the only thing they have been able to confirm is the malnutrition and convulsions witnessed in some. There’s no denying or escaping the facts that have long since been documented, researched and quantified: overfishing on the West Coast as well as climate change effects on the Benguela is killing our marine life. See my previous post for more on this. The next day I took a hike up to Noordhoek peak which is a stunning vantage point overlooking the long beach walk I did the previous day. And while from up here everything looks beautiful, another story of pain and suffering lies on our beaches and in our oceans. . PLEASE DON’T IGNORE AND HELP ME SPREAD THIS INFO
Over 1,000 scientists are risking their jobs right now by chaining themselves to the doors of corporations killing our planet with fossil fuels. (Nathan Brown)The protest started on April 6,2022 and ever since, a lot of scientists have been arrested for WARNING THE PEOPLE. And yes, it is still ongoing.A statement by a NASA scientist, Peter Kalmus @ClimateHuman :How do I politely tell some prominent world leaders on here that their irresponsibility and indifference over climate change are causing young people to have panic attacks and suicidal thoughts? The key to stopping this intensifying crisis is climate action from world leaders. I WISH YOU GUYS TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.

PLEASE BOOST OR REBLOG. WE NEED TO SPREAD AWARENESS. WE NEED TO ACT NOW.
1.5°C IS DEAD. CLIMATE REVOLUTION NOW!
Over 1000 scientists from 25 countries protested and spread awareness on climate change. Our world warmed by more than a degree Celsius. They demand faster climate action and an end to burning fossil fuels.
I don't know much details for now and I'm afraid I'll spread fake information, so I'm leaving the research to you.
We need to act faster on climate change or we, and the future generations, will suffer the consequences. This is not a joke.
Here are some ways we can do to help save our only planet:
Spread awareness. Inform your family and friends of what's going on and ask them to pass along the message. We need more people to act now.
Save electricity. Unplug appliances you don't use, turn off the lights and use natural light if possible, use LED lights.
Delete unwanted or unneeded emails. If everyone around the world deletes at least 10 emails, we could save 55.2 million kilowatts of power.
Save water. Take shorter showers, turn off the tap when you brush your teeth.
Do not waste food. Eat the food you buy and stop wasting. As much as possible, limit livestock products as they're one of the most energy consuming to produce.
Practice the 3r's. Reduce, reuse, recycle. This helps reduce waste and minimize landfill waste.
Do not burn your wastes. Especially plastics.
Plant trees. Or plants. If you can't do so, use Ecosia, a search engine that plants trees. The more searches, the more trees.
Limit using your cars. If you can use a bicycle or walk from one place to another, please do so.
