MiM OCs - Brief Intro

OCs and location I created for a timeline set on @moonlightsmasquerade 's Monsters in Mayweather story

Locations :

Pearlmoon - Neighboring town to Mayweather, being a little smaller than the latter, but not by much. Thriving economy thanks to its nutrient abundant grass fields and farmland supporting large amounts of cattle and crop growth.

Despite its economy being dependant mainly on traditional sources, it is considered a rather culturally modern town, mainly with its promoting and protection of its local cultural amenities, of which include its conservatorium and theater.

Obviously, the town also has its defects, such as many schools actively not ensuring the safety of the more vulnerable students, and the problem of its known bogeywoman being ignored most of the time.

Theater OldOak - A nearly two hundred year old theater, and the only one in the surroundings, that expanded into a small local film production studio in the 1920s, and in the 1960s expanded again to also include a Theater School.

The film studio branch especially is famous for the many liberties its higher-ups provide their actors, including how not every footage shooting needs to take place inside the building itself, giving a lot of freedom for the performers themselves to chose a location to film in.

OldOak has many branches for the different genres that can be produced and performed, such as "House of Notes", its musical theatricals branch, "Heart Pumps" its romance dedicated branch, and "Project Macabre", its horror-thriller branch of small films.

Characters :

Vine Javert - Second youngest child of the Javert family, with two older siblings and one younger cousin. Has been overprotected by his parents since infancy, even more than his brother and sister, to the point of them choosing to homeschool him, but they never told him why and what they were afraid of. Though his raising didn't make him spoiled, it did contribute to him growing up oblivious and naïve to some aspects of the world, such as social cues, which mostly manifests in his lack of shame.

He is often thought by others as being autistic or to suffer from adhd due to his odd behavior, but the only type of neurodiversity he has been diagnosed with is synesthesia, with it manifesting most times by his "abilities" to "hear" music while just reading the sheets and "feel" character's emotions while just looking at paintings or similar arts, as though he was inside the scene himself.

Most people also wrongly assume at first that he is a cross-dresser, due to his habit of wearing a faceful of exaggerated makeup, large pigtails and corset (a fact he doesn't hide), plus his handmade coat looking like a dress from how long and wide it is. He always refutes such assumptions with the explanation that "he's French is all" and that his hair simply grows faster than normal.

What many people don't know at first however, with most not even recognizing him, is that Vine doesn't use this appearance every day, only as a way of warning that he's "on actor mode", with his 'normal' appearance actually looking pretty masculine, as he wears clothes that don't 'curtain' his body, though he keeps his hair in a high bun and a long braided ponytail.

Vine has been part of Theater OldOak ever since he was seven, with his most well-known character playing being that of "Grandma Dephne" for a series called "Pyrite Poppy", which he played for the series' three years on air, and is currently the main actor of "Project Macabre".

Uriel Harbor - Son of an Anglican Catholic priest and a former nun turned music teacher, Uriel was raised in a loving and safe religious household, but due to having only attended religious schools his whole life, he is somewhat innocent about some things such as intimacy. A personal belief that he shares with his dad is that the Bible should be taken as a piece of advice rather than the absolute truth of all things, and although his mom is still very traditionally pious at home, this never affected the family's nucleus.

Thanks to his mother's job, he has been a frequent visitor of her workplace, Harper Conservatorium, since he was very little, but despite having made many friends there and at school, Uriel was known for many years to actually be a very shy and soft-spoken kid, and for having quite the hard case of stage anxiety.

Only at 15, after his puberty finally started accompanied by a growth spurt, did he start opening up and becoming more social. Although not exactly repressed or new feelings to him, it was only at 16 that Uriel fully accepted himself as gay, and his first relationship started not too long after, with a boy called Harris, but unfortunately it did not last long, as after three months he caught him with someone else, with the resulting argument resulting in their break-up.

Thankfully, Uriel had his parents and friends to support him in the aftermath, and he decided to take an interest in scriptwriting as a hobby at Vine's recommendation, and eventually joined "Project Macabre" as well. He is aware his parents secretly hope he'll succeed his dad as priest and someday marry, even if his partner is a boy, but he prefers to let things run at their own pace. Recently, he has started dating again, even if his new partner is two years younger than him, he loves him and is excited to be celebrating their first year anniversary soon.

Morgana ??? - Twenty years old, one of and the best camera operator working for "Project Macabre", though strangely the higher-ups at OldOak don't seem to remember her ever applying for the position.

Whenever she is asked about her last name, she replies that she was born in Mongolia, and since no one else has ever seen her around either Mayweather or Pearlmoon, when she's questioned about where she moved from, she simply answers "from the capital", though never specifying which capital she's refering to.

A very silent individual when not actively being spoken to, sometimes almost seems like she's not even in the room from how quiet she manages to be. Still, she is very liked and motherly to the rest of the group, even if her conveniently always having something physical someone in the group is missing can be a bit scary.

Kian Stone - Uriel's new boyfriend who quit high school before it even started. An extremely anxious and emotionally disturbed person, with a few physical scars, who becomes uncomfortable and unwilling to give satisfaction whenever he's asked about his past. Sometimes is forced to walk with a cane from a leg injury and starts visibly shaking whenever in the middle or even just around large crowds, but he won't give any explanation about these either.

Lives all alone despite still being a minor, with his dad having agreed to help him financially from a distance until he manages to start making his own money. The only thing he ever says about his parents is that his dad is a serious and ambitious man, and his mother was a loving woman but eventually "left", but otherwise refuses to elaborate much more.

Is doing much better now that he's with Uriel than he was before.

Sierra Miller Jr. (Shion Tsukino) - Born and raised on the south of Ohio, to a conservative thinking and authoritarian family. Named after her paternal grandmother, and followed by three younger siblings: Alice, Vincent and Emily, Sierra grew to hate her strict and traditional mother and maternal grandparents, and although he tried his best to protect and support her, Sierra couldn't help but despise her father as well, due to his tendency to submit to his wife's demands out of fear of her threats of leaving him.

As an undiagnosed autistic person, her controlling and conservative upbringing always left her feeling trapped, with most of her attempts at self-expression being shut down, and with her boundaries about noise and privacy never being respected, always being told to "be more mature". All this fed a sense in her that she had to force her boundaries into her family members in order for them to be respected, which led to her already strained relationship with her mother and grandparents to deteriorate even further.

Having been introduced to japanese culture by an emmigrant classmate, Sierra finally found an escape from her miserable life, and the desire to one day become fully integrated in such society bloomed. She began using her repressed gift for drawing to start making her own small manga, and eventually began using the name Shion when meeting new people, and informally by the last name Tsukino after her favourite manga Sailor Moon.

By age 16, Shion quit school, packed all her belongings and left her home, family and county, moving to somewhere more to the north. She was first accepted into Theater OldOak, where she met Vine and Uriel, and through the latter entered Harper Conservatorium, and eventually "Project Macabre" too where she has taken the role of composer.

Though she's still working on her anger issues developed as a defense mechanism, and trying to settle for a more healthy routine between helping with Macabre and drawing her manga and omakes, she would never not admit that her new life in Pearlmoon is infinitely better than her life with her biological family.

Mikel / Mitchel / Michelle - Friendly but alcohol addicted Special Effects Artist inside "Project Macabre". Actually lives in Mayweather but spends most of his time in Pearlmoon due to his position.

Visibly suffers from an identity disorder, due to his sudden behavior swings, sometimes even introducing himself as a completely different person, almost immediately followed by him not remembering what he did or said at all. Other things he cannot remember are his childhood, his hometown and even his real name, all that he knows is that the county he was born in is more to the northeast, and that he has two first names. He uses Mikel and Mitchel irregularly, sometimes even forgetting about one or the other, and although he occasionally goes by Michelle, he doesn't identify as a girl, and the name is more out of desperation to have something to be refered to as.

Despite not remembering his childhood, something traumatic definitely happened, as he is extremely paranoid when it comes to what he eats and his home security. Even when he's eating with the rest of the group, he'll refuse to eat anything that wasn't boiled beforehand, and he avoids going out to eat at local places, and every door and window in his house has at least two locks, no matter the type.

It's assumed that his paranoia is purely a consequence of living in Mayweather and being close to its dangers, but there's a lot of things wrong with that assumption that he hasn't told anyone else except the man he often goes to overdrink Brandy in the company of.
