That's a Homeric AU, alright! This is what living in my brain looks like. Would you believe I haven't actually listened to Epic yet? Idk why I'm putting I off. Maybe I'm terrified of disappointment.

Anyway! AU notes beneath the cut!

Diamond lord of men and brilliant Ruby. . . ."

-Rose plays a similar role to Odysseus! The morally grey trickster monarch who just wants to be with her spouse and son in the end. Seen as a coward and a bad friend, but the intentions were good. A brilliant strategist and completely hubristic idiot simultaneously. I give her the Pink Diamond palette whenever she isn't disguised. The Rose palette goes to Nobody!

-Pearl as the Athena-parallel goddess of wisdom, arts, and warfare. The pearls will be the patron gods of their respective Diamond monarchs, but Pearl is the closest to her monarch. She follows her everywhere until something big separates them due to a choice Rose makes, thus aiding Rose's son instead in growing up and his mission to learn more about a heroic mother he never knew.

-Lapis of Sparta and Troy, the demigod prisoner whose face sailed a thousand ships. Kidnapped from her home and loved ones, then blamed for the fallout.

-The rage of Ruby, heir to the throne of Pthia, greatest of the Greeks, and her gentle yet coldly terrifying equestrian companion Sapphire, exiled princess of Omas. Technically the same stone irl, but there's a great status disparity. Their ranks in this AU are swapped, though, to better fit the backstory of our Myrmidon boys!

-Padparadscha, disgraced Trojan princess, whose predictions are always ignored and ridiculed. Until it's too late.

-Jasper of Troy. Captor of Lapis Lazuli. Favorite of the detached Pink Pearl, goddess of beauty and lust. A pawn who thinks she's in control. Always inferior to her eldest sister.

-Hessonite of Troy. Favorite of the vain Yellow Pearl. Goddess of prophecy, archery, medicine, music, plague, the sun, and being an annoying little overachiever. Hess commands Troy's armies. Eldest of the royal children. She was canonically the governor of the Earth colony, so she technically counts for my efforts to make all the Trojans pink court gems under Queen White Diamond. Yelp is the only exception, cause I wasn't making Aubergine or Lonely into Apollo. It fit her too well.

-Steven goes on a journey to learn about and live up to a heroic parent he's never met. Prince of Ithaca. Spends his early life constantly having to fight adults who want to kill him, and having to defend his home and single parent from said adults.

-Greg. "I've never had that many exes show up at once since—" has hundreds fighting for a hand that's technically already taken. Known for his artistic pursuits, like Penelope for her weaving. A lot more clever than he first appears. A damn good dad.

- Amethyst is undecided. Maybe an Ajax? A goofier Diomedes? Absolutely up for suggestions.

-Garnet as the tall, blunt, crazy strong child of Ruby who joins the war in her early years. Neoptolemus/Pyrrhus, who I'm now realizing isn't as universal as the others, so I'm saying it explicitly.

-Aquamarine as the (justifiably) murderous sister of Helen/Lapis, Clytemnestra! Eyeball as the lover who helps her kill her spouse! Freckles and Curls as their brothers, the twins Castor and Pollux! I'm cooking.

And the Lapis twins ESPECIALLY work for the Gemini! One was callous and spiteful, one was kind and followed his brother. However, because a lot of people in those times/place thought you could have multiple fathers per set of twins (or per baby if you ask some of Alexander's contemporaries about him), one twin was a fully immortal demigod. Not full-blooded Spartan royalty. Freckles isn't a pure Lapis, she has pyrite flecks!

And the Gemini later both became water gods! Idk who will fill Orestes' slot. Probably Blue Zircon, since Orestes was the impetus of the founding of the Athenian legal system.

-Yellow Diamond, Queen of Men. Favorite of Blue Pearl, goddess of the seas, storms, earthquakes, and horses. Angry and selfish, hated but feared by her gems. Later murdered by her family. Only using Lapis' kidnapping as an excuse for war and plunder.

-Blue Diamond, queen of Sparta. Also favored by Bloop. Desperate to take Lapis back from Troy. Constantly grieving her rapidly dropping family, but still terrifying.

-White Diamond, queen of Troy. Starts detached, cold, and neglectful. Loses everything, becoming a humbled and grieving old mother and grandmother.

-Gimme ideas for Peridot! Was gonna make her Meneleus, but it'd be weird making her Blue's sister.

-Bismuth = Hephaestus

- Rose Buds = The Fates

- Aubergine = Artemis? Hera? Idk, man, I just REALLY wanna include the Hera/Artemis fistfight.

-Lonely Pearl = Hermes

-Pyrope = Hera, probably, actually. It fits her Vibe. Or Zeus. Or Demantoid as Zeus?

-Navy = Ares. Full stop.

@chrisrin’s gem au is consuming the life series fandom and I am not exempt. Enjoy a corrupted Tango

He’s mostly red and orange with dark grey shoulders, scales, and horns. He’s got stylized stripes and spots all over him, but especially on his sides/ribs and arms. The scales along his spine and on his tail have single stripes on their inner edges, fading from dark red near his shoulders, down to orange, yellow, and then white at the top of his tail. /End ID]

Bonus rambling about my design Thoughts because I want to:

Honestly most of it is just looking at an animal and thinking “yeah that has Tango energy”; notably:

Pangolin (tail + scales)

Tiger (general body shape + stripes (and lil paws!!)

Bull (horns)

I also thought about adding some armadillo lizard in there? Because again,, the vibes - but honestly that’s pretty well covered with the pangolin lol

Most of his markings are also meant to mimic chrisrin’s design! I pretty much just slapped some extra stuff on top for the corruption, since carnelian can have little veins and spots in it sometimes. I honestly didn’t look at references for super long so they’re not super accurate to what those look like in the actual gemstone but whatever. They look cool. Also I gave him freckles because I can and they’re cute.

I changed the colors because, tbh, they clashed with the fire I drew LMAO. But! Also carnelian can be very orange and corruption changes the colors of gems sometimes anyway (if I remember right, at least).

I tried to mimic the au art style to an extent but I have never been good an mimicking styles lol so it didn’t exactly turn out. I don’t think it’s too far off though! Especially in the design itself. The big ol’ chompers is definitely su energy

Steven Universe Au: ☆Amethyst☆

Amethyst Facet-5 Cut-8XN, or Ame, the name given by Citrine, was an unknown gem part of the gem Kindergarten project. Like the show Amethyst, she popped out way later than she was supposed to. But instead of being a sponge and soaking up any and all information, Ame came out with her duties realized: to observe quietly and destroy any and all potential threats. Anything that came into the kindergarten was either scared away or heavily injured by the stout yet powerful gem. She caused so much trouble that word eventually got out to the Crystal Gems.

Personality: She's quiet with an unsettling demeanor until someone gets her out of her hole. (Get it?) Afterward, she's calm with a bit of a silly side. She can be quite moody when it comes to not being able to do what she wants, but she still tries her best to keep a composed and polite attitude. (Especially since she feels high-key guilty about how she acted in the past, you will barely see this girl lash out.)

☆⁠) Her weapon is called the: "Heart-Stop Bow"

☆⁠)When she shoots it, it can cause a time stopping paralysis to the gem/person/creature hit

☆⁠) She can do this up to three times before having to retrieve the arrows because it drains her energy (I'm a sleepy lady, this was bound to happen)

So you're saying that pink Diamond is actually dead and that she didn't fake her death?

Yup! Pink Diamond is dead dead.

Picture it this way; Sonic is Rose Quartz prior to "A Single Pale Rose". As far as we knew until that episode, Rose had shattered Pink in the Gem War to stop Homeworld from colonizing Earth (or in our case, Mobius).

So in this AU, Sonic DID shatter Pink. Pink was going to colonize Mobius, but Sonic decided to rebel to protect it and the sanctity of life on the planet, creating the Crystal Gems and starting the Gem War.

and to those little smarties looking on that might be connecting some small crumbs i'm leaving; for once, yes, sonic is older than shadow, significantly :]

🌟 chaos trio - steven universe au concepts! 💎

some doodles i made in ms paint! i haven't figured out a specific storyline for these three but what i got so far is that moonstone and sunstone work for the homeworld. they're practically inseperable with sunstone often protecting moonstone from gems that think he's too weak. at some point the two are sent to check out earth and while sunstone is away for a bit moonstone is found and taken by howlite who reckognizes him as being from homeworld. some arguing and hijinks ensue but eventually howlite comes to realize that moonstone isn't some upper crust murderer and moonstone comes to realize that The Homeworld is Bad Actually. all the while sunstone is terrified out of his mind trying to find moonstone. by the time he finally spots his twin he sees moonstone being friendly with some rebels, maybe even hears him say something about staying on earth and via Angsty Misunderstandings he thinks that moonstone is sick of him and is staying on earth and ditching him. in reality, moonstone had wanted to ask sunstone to join the rebels with him but by the time he sees sunstone again his twin had just gotten on the ship back to homeworld and moonstone doesn't have enough time to explain what's happening before the ship leaves with him. (poor boys, how long until someone makes a 'stan and ford are happy and nothing bad happens to them to ruin it' au kekekeke?)

also i didn't write it down but sunstone's weapon would probably some sort of knuckle dusters or gloves like the ones garnet has? meanwhile, ford is more of a technician like peridot and probably won't have a weapon.

fucking around with my Steven Universe AU Gems and this pearl had me in a grip with her design possibilities - I seriously fucked her up her previous design & it haunted me, and with her diamond getting fully redesigned 2 times it didn't really help in keeping the right vibe. being the oldest surviving pearl among the diamonds, she has seen an era of repression and sorrow among the diamonds - caught in the crossfire of her diamond's tears. With the forced responsibility of Indigo's court during her depressive episodes, and the countless replacements of Red's pearl, she was left tainted with despair. To forget the endless days of anxiety and boredom, she took up her time with Indigo's reserve of her rare clouds of joy - her worries and imperfections washed away in euphoria. Very little of Indigo's tasks are accomplished by her anymore, most of it gets transferred to the other courts.

But anyways it’s below if you’d like to read it. If not; get ready to see these guys a lot because the gemling stuff is actually important to the AU and not just fun (although I am having fun with these guys)

The RosePearl kids were born sometime durning the war and spent most of their (very unfortunately) short lives fighting each other and alongside each other.

Barlow and Rosemary have always had animosity toward each other even since they were barely walking leaving Bosco to defuse the tension.

Barlow’s anamosity just might be her interlaced hatred of being a Pearl and Rosemary not having to try as hard to be a good fighter/soilder. He’s trying his best and live to his mother’s legacy and if anything were to happen to them, he would like to be the new acting leader of the rebellion. Although her façade of the prefect golden child slips every now and then.

Rosemary wants nothing to do with the war as much as most gems seem to want nothing to do with her. People have always called her the strange child of Rose and her unnerving eyes make it harder to even walk up to people.

Bosco, the youngest, is just trying his best to get by. He really, really wants to be a leader like his mother (Rose) and be able to strike fear in others and be someone people look up too. But he’s just so small and scrawny and Barlow has already convinced everyone he’s a better fit for a leader and has already led several successful battles. If only he could be half of what Barlow is.

Sorry for the inactivity, too many things happening . Anyways Abyss Red, I haven't made her an outfit yet, but I will

She is basically the big sister of Yellow and Blue . Instead of coming individually from Black or White, she comes from both .

Lonsdaleites are made for destroy planets. They made from 'Them'(aka God), and there's only two exists.

Black Lons was has to be White Lons, but unexpectedly Dark Gems colonized the planet that Black Lons's gem is in, they put Dark energy into the ground and her gem affected, and boom. Black Lons born. So she's like half-dark Gem. She knows what she have to do, so she destoyed every planets that caught in her eyes. She is very cruel and merciless, she doesn't feel guilty for any genosides. And also, she has a mission that find her partner Lons. Her purpose was find Lons and fuse(!) with her, and cleaning the whole universe. That's why follows Lons every time.

And Lons, born from other planet, she didn't know what is her purpose. She's been around a lot with not knowing. And she meets various creatures from some planets, she liked when she hanging out with them. A lot of time passed, she meet Collector from her own planet. They became friends and she met Yellowverse too. She felt happiness first time when she with Diamonds like them.(bc she was alone for six billion years) And then she decide to protect them from any danger for her own purpose. So she really doesn't like Black Lons. Because she doesn't want to destroy her playgrounds and her friends. That's why she avoid her. And she will never be on her side. So yeah, she refused divine command.

So Lons and Black Lons will never be together. Forever i guess.
