Age of Ultron Steve snapping a log in half in front of Tony.
Steve: Yeah that’ll show him. Show him how good my biceps look.

I can’t stop rewatching Captain America: Civil War, this is a problem. I’ve seen it 3 times today alone. I’m memorizing the words. This movie is breaking me.

Okay but that scene in endgame. Look at tony and Steve’s faces. Tony is smiling. He, and Nat, are the only ones smiling during the scene. And why? Because the team is back together. Their family is complete. Nat has been balancing both sides since before civil war, not choosing either dude in her life but hopping between them. And now here they are, all together again. And tony? He’s smiling too. He’s got his friends back. Thor is back. He and Steve are on speaking terms, he’s hanging out at the place he built for his family, getting to invent and build and share ideas, sleep alongside his family again, and now he’s standing shoulder to shoulder with Steve, smiling, because Steve’s well wishes of ‘you got this’ and ‘be safe’ are once again aimed at him. And Steve, look at his face. Before they leave, Tony is the last person he looks at. They’re making eye contact when they go into the quantum realm. He doesn’t smile back. Not because he doesn’t want to but, he almost seems caught off guard. The last time he saw tony the man had told him to fuck off because he hadn’t been there for him. That had cut deep. Because Steve had betrayed him. Not on purpose, but he had. And now tony was smiling at him, bridging the broken trust between them, happy to be among his avengers again. And something inside Steve breaks. It’s why the next scene between them, “you trust me.” “I do.” Hits so hard. Because Steve understands. And he is forgiven. And they’re together again so nothing else matters.

Hi there! I’ve been looking for a fic set after the film captain america:civil war where Tony stark gets kidnapped, and the rogues, minus ant man and bucky try to help find him despite being in hiding. And I can’t remember who brings him in, but either Rhodes or Natasha bring in spider-man to help the search. Wilson, at first, is like “hell no that is an infant” and Peter gets super rambly yet sincere and gives a passionate speech, essentially, and now he is aboard! More bonding happens between them and spidey, and by the time they find Tony in a bunker, he’s basically on their team entirely- however Tony was actively escaping, and when they walked up to the massive vault door spider-man hears AC/DC and gets weepy like “Mr stark!!!” And straight up busts the door down and goes tearing thru the facility before the rest can stop him. Cue emotional reunion, where he rips off his mask, shocked pikachu face, and Sam is just like “holy shit he really is an infant”.
sorry for the word vomit, been looking for this fic for literal months it’s driving me CRAZY

nah since marvel is trending again I’m going to say it again louder for the people in back — canon steve rogers would never have chosen an “idyllic 1950s white pickett fence life” because the only place that man belonged was a picket LINE. the whole point of his character was that his work was never done. there was always going to be another oppressor, another bully, another person who takes advantage of the underprivileged for him to stand up to. from the moment he gained consciousness he, a chronically ill son of a working class mother living below the poverty line, used his voice and his body to protect & fight for what he believed in. I’m not sure there was ever a time pre-super soldier serum where he didn’t have a black eye. he could put the shield down all he wanted but he could never retire from being steve rogers — someone who never once turned a blind eye, who never once wanted a “reward” for his work, who never once abandoned his friends. this isn’t up for debate. this is almost a century of comic book & film/animated precedent. he may have been a man out of time, but in his words “it’s tempting to want to live in the past. it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. but it’s where fossils come from”

y’all ever fantasize about a fictional character a little too hard to the point you’re convinced you should be admitted to a mental hospital?

Okay so I was watching a marvel cast interview recently, as one does, and I noticed that Joe and Anthony Russo, Joe calls Anthony ant. And I just. Yes. Rhodey calls tony tones, nat sticks with stark, others call him tony. But Thor and Steve call him Ant. I just. I want that.
