The album features eight new tracks along with a beautiful reworking of THE MONTGOLFIER BROTHERS' "Between Two Points" and has artwork and photography by the renowned artist Anton Corbijn.
Musicians contributing to the record include Guy Pratt and Tom Herbert on bass, Adam Betts, Steve Gadd and Steve DiStanislao on drums, Rob Gentry and Roger Eno on keyboards with string and choral arrangements by Will Gardner. The title track also features the late PINK FLOYD keyboard player Richard Wright, recorded in 2007 at a jam in a barn at David's house.
Some contributions emerged from the live streams that Gilmour and family performed to a global audience during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021; Romany Gilmour sings, plays the harp and appears on lead vocals on "Between Two Points". Gabriel Gilmour also sings backing vocals.

Albümde sekiz yeni parçanın yanı sıra THE MONTGOLFIER BROTHERS'ın "Between Two Points" şarkısının güzel bir yeniden düzenlemesi yer alıyor ve ünlü sanatçı Anton Corbijn'in çizimleri ve fotoğrafları bulunuyor.

Nils Lofgren; Photo by Carl Schulz
BY JORDAN MAINZER
Three shows, three legends still at it.
David Crosby, Arcada Theatre
CSNY member/Twitter master David Crosby released his fourth solo album in five years, the surprisingly great Here If You Listen, last year. However, he’s currently on a tour entitled Sky Trails, named after his 2017 record, with members of CPR, the jazzy band consisting of him, his son James Raymond on keyboards, and guitarist Jeff Pevar. (Others playing include bassist Mai Leisz, drummer Steve DiStanislao, and keyboardist Michelle Willis.) However, expect him to perform his greatest solo and CSNY hits tonight.
Johnny Marr, Vic Theatre
We caught Johnny Marr briefly at last year’s Riot Fest and described his set as “the sound of classic Smiths songs coming from someone who isn’t an insufferable blowhard.” While that doesn’t sound like a ringing endorsement, I do find Marr’s sets wholly enjoyable. His most recent album was last year’s Call the Comet, but he dropped a new track in February, the sparkling disco jam “Armatopia”.
Nils Lofgren Band, City Winery
Guitarist/songwriter and E Street Band/Crazy Horse/Grin member Nils Lofgren plays his second night at City Winery to celebrate the release of Blue With Lou, his new collection of songs, half of which were co-written with none other than Lou Reed. The songs were recorded with drummer Andy Newmark, bassist Kevin McCormick, and vocalist Cindy Mizelle, all who will be playing with Lofgren tonight, and one Reed-Lofgren track features saxophonist Branford Marsalis. Bonus for tonight: brother/Grin member Tom Lofgren joins the band on guitars, keyboards, and vocals.

Why you should watch the ‘David Gilmour - Breaking Bread, Drinking Wine’ Documentary:
I may have rewatched this instead of finally watching ‘Remember That Night’ oops
It has Cute Old David in abundance.
Perhaps even better - it has Cute Old Rick in abundance.
David and Rick’s friendship is just the most beautiful thing. It’s clear from the outset that they had so much fun playing together on this tour; you can see Rick truly coming out of his shell, and seeing the audience’s appreciation for him is lovely. One of the sweetest moments is when David jokes that Rick has become “a little more bolshy, which is a great thing actually!”, and during Rick’s 63rd birthday celebrations, David comes right out and tells him he loves him with absolutely zero reservations. As much as I wish these two had gotten the chance to do so many more tours together, I’ll forever be grateful that Rick got to enjoy this one.
Guy Pratt represents all of us when he holds up the entire tour-bus as a result of sleeping in. I have never related to anyone more than I have to Guy when he says, “I was so asleep, it was fantastic. I was so happy!”
The entire soundtrack consisting of ‘On An Island’ tracks just serves as a constant reminder of how beautiful that album is.
It features footage of old David and Roger being *gasp* civil to each other. There’s even a brief hug.
Steve DiStanislao, David’s touring drummer, is human sunshine who always looks delighted to be there and notes at one point that he “feels like (he) won the lottery by playing in this band”. Watching his facial expressions during any of their performances (even Live at Pompeii ten years later) is guaranteed to improve your day.
Rick gets the chance to play A Saucerful of Secrets on the Royal Albert Hall organ for the first time since 1968.
DAVID BOWIE!!!
Features that hilarious moment where David Bowie’s trying to convince us that he was six years old when his parents took him to a Pink Floyd gig in 1967, while David Gilmour’s having none of it. “I think he’s exaggerating the age a little bit!” “...Okay, I was around ten.” 😂
Polly Samson is beautiful and her laugh is infectious and I love her, that is all.
David does a beautiful cover of Syd Barrett’s ‘Dark Globe’ as a tribute to him after his death.
The whole atmosphere of the tour comes across as so relaxed and joyous. Everyone seems to be having the time of their lives, the backstage footage is filled with laughs and funny anecdotes, and the sense of camaraderie among everyone is lovely. It feels like you’re watching one big family go on tour together, and it’s easy to believe Rick when he says it’s the most fun he’s ever had on a tour.
The bus driver saying ‘Welcome to Scotland’ followed by a view of torrential rain might be the best (and most accurate) edit in the entire documentary.
At least one minute is dedicated to Guy, David and Polly having an (semi) intellectual discussion on the origins of the word ‘Vagina’ (it’s the Latin word for ‘scabbard’ apparently).
Features a lovely moment where David is so impressed by a street musician that he invites him to perform ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ on stage (which he does).
David decides to play ‘On The Turning Away’ for the first time in decades... without telling the band. The best detail about this is that according to Guy’s book, David turned to him with a wide grin afterwards and said ‘You were terrible!’ whereas in the documentary he’s full of praise for how well the band coped under pressure. Which means he only told Guy that in an attempt to wind him up.
In conclusion: 10/10, most wholesome tour documentary ever produced.
However, no-one wears overalls in the entire documentary so... -10000/10, needs more Old MacGilmour 😉
Extra kudos to the ‘On An Island’ tour for giving us this lovely photo:

David Crosby & Friends at Kent Stage, Kent, Ohio, Nov. 5, 2017
David Crosby introduced “Laughing” by saying he’d written it for George Harrison as a warning against putting too much faith in the Maharishi.
Crosby wrote the song - instead of talking about his concerns with Harrison - because even though the two were friends, a Byrd could never express doubts to a Beatle.
With that, Crosby and his three-man, two-woman band kicked into the If I Could Only Remember My Name track, and when guitarist Jeff Pevar recreated on a six-string what Jerry Garcia had played on pedal steel back in 1971, a chill coursed through Sound Bites’ body.
That was one of many such moments Sunday night when Crosby & Friends played a sold-out show at the 642-seat Kent Stage, just a couple of miles away from what Crosby referred to as “the scene of the crime,” and didn’t need to say any more.
During the two-hour, 10-minute show, Crosby and his superlative band elicited more physical responses when they performed an a cappella version of “What Are Their Names;” “a love letter to America” in the form of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee;” and a simply breathtaking rendition of the just-released Sky Trails’ title track, which Crosby delivered as a duet with keyboardist Michelle Willis, whom Crosby met via his association with Snarky Puppy.
For its part, “Laughing” arrived about mid-way through the hour-long first set that found Crosby promoting his new album with the Steely Dan sound-alike “She’s Got to Be Somewhere,” on which Pevar delivered horn sounds through his MIDI rig; remembering CPR, which was Crosby, Pevar and keyboardist/son James Raymond, with “Morrison;” revisiting the 1980s edition of CSNY with “Tracks in the Dust,” more relevant today than in the George H.W. Bush days; and bringing down the house with simply devastating takes on “Long Time Gone” and a jazzy, extended “Dèjá Vu,” which gave all the band members a chance to solo a la the Crosby-Nash Live version.
And what a band it was.
Crosby was right to continually heap praise upon Pevar, Raymond, Willis, bassist Mai Agan and drummer Steve DiStanislao, who’s worked with David Gilmour among others. Whether they were playing tender and sweet on “Delta,” delivering fusion on a reworked rendition of “Homeward Through the Haze” or going full-tilt rock ‘n’ roll on “Wooden Ships” - which found Crosby delivering both his and Stephen Stills’ parts - there was nothing this quintet couldn’t do exceptionally well.
At 76 and wearing a green work shirt over a blue T, suspenders and a maroon knit hat, Crosby’s retained about 88 percent of his voice and every bit of his rhythm guitar abilities, which he showed off on six-string acoustic and electric axes. That the voice was the best instrument on stage was evident from the opening notes of “In My Dreams” and is remarkable not only because because of Crosby’s age but because he spent a couple of decades snorting and smoking cocaine at a rate that’d make Rick James blush.
Crosby was energetic and good-natured. Although the talked about the Byrds, that was the one band of his he didn’t cover on the 18-song setlist, which mixed solo cuts with C-N, CSN, CNSY and CPR material. He laughingly gave a concertgoer many varieties of the bird, after the fan shouted that maybe Crosby should cut his now-white and thin - but still long - hair. He talked about the ravages of age. He talked about how much he loves his wife. And you could tell he was happy by the way his omnipresent walrus mustache curved when he flashed an invisible grin below it.
Crosby can still sing harmony as well as just about anyone, be it the wordless vocalizations he’s known for or in multi-part choruses with his various band members. Although he doesn’t quite have the power he enjoyed in the 1970s through the ‘90s, he can still muster some serious passion when he wants to.
This was evident on the angry and snarling encore - “Ohio” - which found Pevar and Crosby playing dueling guitar and Pevar, Willis, Raymond and DiStanislao singing in four-part harmony as Crosby simply wailed on the outro, crying, Why? and How many more? before demanding You better tell me!
Although he’s been playing the Neil Young composition regularly on this tour, “Ohio” took on extra significance being performed in the shadow of Kent State University, something that was not lost on either Crosby or the audience. And it was such a chilling experience that Sound Bites is getting goose bumps again as he recalls the moment.
