AND THE INTERNET AWARD FOR GREATEST FAUX CRITERION COVER GOES TO...
PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on custom and/or faux Criterion Collection cover art for the 1960 Sword and Sandal epic "Spartacus," directed by Stanley Kubrick, based on the 4K/Blu-Ray Steelbook cover inspired by 1974 theatrical re-release German poster art by Lutz Peltzer.
Resolution from largest to smallest: 2205x1289, 1141x1289, & 1000x1500.
FILM OVERVIEW: "Stanley Kubrick directed a cast of screen legends —including Kirk Douglas as the indomitable gladiator that led a Roman slave revolt—in the sweeping epic that defined a genre and ushered in a new Hollywood era. The assured acting, lush Technicolor cinematography, bold costumes, and visceral fight sequences won "Spartacus" four Oscars; the blend of politics and sexual suggestion scandalized audiences. Today Kubrick's controversial classic, the first film to openly defy Hollywood's blacklist, remains a landmark of cinematic artistry and history."

Disney+ Series ‘The Mandalorian,’ ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Loki’ Coming to Blu-ray and 4K UHD Later This Year
The formerly streaming-only titles are now physical
Tumblr media
Some of your favorite Disney+ streaming series from Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios are getting the physical media treatment later this year with new Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases of the first two seasons of Lucasfilm’s live-action “Star Wars” series “The Mandalorian” as well as Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” and the first season of “Loki.”
“Loki” will be available on Sept. 26, “WandaVision” will be available on Nov. 28, and the first two seasons of “The Mandalorian” will be available on Dec. 12. The titles will be available on Collector’s Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray, “featuring Steelbook packaging, concept art cards and some never-before-seen bonus features.” The Steelbook edition will feature brand-new box art designed by artist Attila Szarka and collectible concept art cards. (People love their Steelbooks!)
The special features for the “Loki” release include “Designing the TVA” which features production designer Kasra Farahani and Tom Hiddleston (and contains a look at the upcoming season 2); the Miss Minutes TVA orientation video; deleted scenes (including a moment that introduces Frog Thor); a gag reel; and the “Assembled” documentary (another former Disney+ exclusive). Special features for the other releases will be shared at a later date.
“The Mandalorian” debuted with the rest of Disney+ on November 12, 2019. It quickly became the flagship series for the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform and inspired a whole host of spin-offs, including “The Book of Boba Fett” and “Ahsoka” (premiering this Tuesday on Disney+).
“WandaVision” was the first Marvel Studios Disney+ series, which debuted on the platform on January 15, 2021. “Loki” debuted several months later on June 9, 2021, resurrecting the Tom Hiddelston character that died at the beginning of “Avengers: Infinity War” and introducing the idea of the Multiverse. It is also the first Marvel Studios Disney+ to warrant a second season, which will start streaming in October.
Other Marvel Studios Disney+ series that followed “WandaVision” include “Moon Knight,” “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” and “Secret Invasion,” which recently wrapped.
All four of these Disney+ titles will be available to pre-order beginning on August 28.

Is the Beetlejuice 4K steelbook still available at anyone's local Walmart(s) on here? Its only available for scalper prices on eBay and Mercari and I'd give anything to get it brand new for under or about $40 right now.
Edit: I'm talking about the Walmart exclusive, not the sequel's steelbook.

Excuse me, wtf is that price?! The regular 4k isn't much better, it's $50. Are they going to try to make physical media a premium thing? The price usually goes down before release date but to start off that high is ridiculous

12/04/24: I'm so lucky and grateful that Winters in Southern California aren't super cold and nasty. It was actually feeling a bit warm by mid-morning. Or maybe it was just my excitement for this huge fleamarket lot of media I got today. Everything here was from one seller. And I had to hold back as he still had interesting things left. As I went through at least a dozen boxes, the stack grew higher and higher! I had to grab a plastic tub and drag it with me. Hundreds of movies were looked at by me. And I chose these, plus some books and videogames. I just went at it, and I didn't even ask how much they cost. Dvd series, criterions, steelbooks, 4k blurays, many still sealed. Some cases are cracked and bent, but it's acceptable. When I took it to the vendor, he told me that the items were three for $5! Ugh! My stingy side was rearing up. But I kept a straight face. As he kept counting, he made it about 3/4ths of the way, and he stopped. He gave up and said, "Just give me $90 bucks for everything." I had to comply. I had already been there for close to an hour already, and I would be a waste of time if I left stuff behind I was clearly interested in. So I paid him. And I pretty much spent all my money in one place! I more or less counted seventy-five items. So yeah, less than a buck a piece!

Made with PhotoLayers, especially the "First Time on 4K" J-card banner while the text using the font "SpongeBoy Me Bob" was made on Font Meme. The details, mostly the J-card banner, were tweaked with Free Online Image Editor and Microsoft Paint.
Now this was made for random purposes and because of the existence of the upcoming 4K release of the first movie.
