The auto generated captions at YouTube produce interesting results, don't they? Also note the "e/i", a creative use for this if there ever was one. The educational content on a "monster of the week" (day) cartoon is -- lesson learned against jealousy or something. Unless there is something to be gleaned from Dilton's techno-babble on splicing through a dna matrix in his lab? (Riverdale High let's him have a personalized lab at the school, evidently.)

An interesting enough episode. An allusion that comes hit over your head if you know it -- they re-enact the first sequence in the very first Archie story. Also at the end Riverdale's pioneering founder is identified as Bob Montana. har De har. And if I squint I can swear they have future Archie a member of a time police contraption -- narrative of the show does not make sense for Jughead to be placed there -- but that may be an accident. These make for interesting call backs, as YouTube commenters appear to show one group of people who think of the Riverdale Show as a retooling of the Archie's Weird Mysteries cartoon, and have no frame of reference beyond that.

Years before the Riverdale series, there was a goofy sketch video. It is what immediately popped into my head when I first learned Riverdale was coming on the air and the very basics of its high concept, that it would be "edgy" -- "okay, they are doing that -- basically". And to be sure, this movie teaser parody has no "Twin Peaks meet Archie" in it, so I guess not quite. But still --Everything clean cut and mundane is moved into the fantastic and gritty or edgy, everything fantastic gets the slice of life parody treatment -- or, you know, Jeffrey Brown does Darth Vader and son. Eddie Murphy has Gumby say "I'm Gumby, damnedit." Harvey Kurtzman and Bill Elder have Archie with a less than ideal family life arrangement.

And here is the stuff of parody -- the latter Riverdale lands on a piece of the former Riverdale by some crooked logic.

The first item here is marked as "most viewed" segment of the old Riverdale movie trailer parody video at youtube, as I guess you would expect, and is a few seconds tacked at the end -- purely gratuitous and disconnected from the rest -- that is the joke. It received some agitated comments in the comments section marking it against the way homosexuality was joked about with concern to Jughead. The second one apparently was at the end or toward the end of the series. I do not know what the show was doing -- like, I know they kissed on the first episode to the eye-roll of Cheryl Blossom who called out their faux-lesbian display. And I know the show runner said the last season of Riverdale was going to be its "queerest" ever -- which since they aren't about to attach Archie to Jughead probably should have been seeable as landing on that. I do not believe I would be aware of the plot twist if I were not sitting on this Tumblr page -- everything starts to have the feel of fan fiction hereabouts.

Doing more Adventure Time Human/Normal World AU design stuff! Here's Bonnie, Neddy, Peppermint Butler, the Gumball Guardians, and various other citizens of the Candy Kingdom.

In this world all the citizens of the Candy Kingdom are either residents or staff living and working in the historic Bubblegum Estate, where various rooms are rented out by the last remaining heirs of the Bubblegum fortune, Bonnibelle and Edmund (Neddy) Boebel-Gunning.

I think they all turned out very cute! :)

Panel 2 - Fionna quickly swipes away the bag of jawbreakers from Gary. She has an unamused face. He is surprised and a little scared that she did it so fast.

Panel 3 - Fionna bowls the Gumball Guardian Jawbreakers at a group of people who fly away while loving it. Fionna-world versions of Starchy and Glassboy get knocked away with a thumbs up, showing how much they love the prototype.

Panel 3 - Fionna gestures to the Pastry Menschen van with an “are you literally seeing any of this” face. The van is manned by Marshall Lee and Cake. Cake loves the Jawbreakers and Marshall is selling a bag to Turtle Prince while he gives a love sign to Gary. Queenie is in line and the squirrel is trying to fit a whole jawbreaker into his mouth. A banana guard man walks by with one in his hand and a stupid pleased expression. Gary sees all this with a contemplative face. End ID.]

i have a question specifically for usamericans, but everyone else can chime in too

is it true that people in the states dont put their clothes out on the line to dry that often?? and if so, why not?? the weather over there seems consistently nicer, sunnier, and just all around perfect for drying ur clothes outside instead of sticking them in a dryer

compared to here in the uk where using a dryer, if you even Have one, is a last resort and the weather is either cloudy or pissing it down like 80% of the damn year

Absolutely, shortwings' rapid bursts of flight are very manoeuvrable and precise but they can't glide or soar, they have to flap. Much like hummingbirds they need many small, high-energy meals per day.

The most accessible source of sugar on Siren to non-aquatics is reed starch. The coastal regions (which comprise like 90% of all land) are dominated by reedbeds. Different species occupy different habitats sure but reeds are as ubiquitous to Siren as flowering plants on Earth, which is to say not really ubiquitous but common enough that you can find one in most places. Anyway Sirenian reeds can be farmed. They don't work like reeds on Earth but occupy roughly the same type of niche and look fairly similar. Reed-silk, made from the aerenchymatic tissue, is what most harpy clothing consists of since it's incredibly lightweight if made right.

The roots form a thick and starchy mat below the water and this is the edible part. The roots can be cut up and eaten raw or simply baked, but in Qedivar's time there's a healthy farming & refinery industry that produces reed starch in its pure form. It's a glutinous substance with many uses, comes in blocks of paste, and is added to pretty much every dish at the Spire. The taste is salty-sweet and if you're not used to it, it takes some getting used to. But it's a dense source of simple sugars and fuels that flight.
