PREMISE

In "His Dark Materials" by Philip Pullman, "dæmons" are essentially the soul of a person, which take the form of an animal outside the body. Dæmons are precious companions to their humans.

Rules for Dæmons (HDM):

1. Dæmons can interact with and touch another dæmon, but not another human. It is a taboo in of itself to touch another person's dæmon. Doing so can cause the person and their dæmons great distress and pain.

2. Dæmons can speak, but will mostly converse with their own human, and no one else.

3. Dæmons shape shift during the stages of childhood, but will settle into a permanent form once their human reaches puberty.

4. Dæmons are often the opposite gender of their human.

5. Dæmons also have names.

The story (and rules) for the AU

What inspired the AU

- Mario's dæmon is a lion (about the size and height of a Great Dane) and Luigi's is a ferret.

- Mario dæmon is called Eliseo

An Italian/Spanish name from the hebrew form "Elisha" - "el (God) and "sha" ("to help/to serve")

- Luigi’s dæmon is called Belissia.

Taken from the Italian female name "Bellissa - meaning fair/lovely one, and the Italian word "belissima" ("very beautiful")

- Unlike in HDM, the dæmons cannot talk.

Part 1 - The Beginning

- Thousands of years ago, amongst the Star Spirits, a prophecy came to be...

An evil King's rein spreads darkness across the land...

Two souls from another world are destined to put things right...

Though separated, they shall overcome trials to be together...

And the love of two brothers, shall restore the balance across all worlds...

- Mario and Luigi are special in which, ever since they were born, they have always been able to interact with each other's dæmons, without causing each other any pain.

- Others were quick to notice, and regarded this with fear and resentment. Adults were scared. Kids would bully them.

- The brothers were reminded over and over how wrong it was to touch another person's dæmon, and they must never do so with each other's. This ingrained itself in their heads so much, that the Bros actually (unknowingly) created a "barrier" around their bond, which prevented them from ever physically interacting with each other's dæmons ever again.

Part 2 - The Warp Pipe

- During a plumbing job, the brothers find a warp pipe, before getting sucked in. They are unfortunately separated halfway through.

- Mario ends up in the Mushroom Kingdom, and Luigi ends up in the Darklands.

- Bowser is aware of what a dæmon is (thanks to having come across Peach and her dæmon years ago). He then proceeds to torture Luigi by holding Belissia - something that is of course taboo. Luigi is overcome with so much pain and disgust over his dæmon - his soul - getting held and hurt by this monster - that he ends up spilling everything about Mario, much to his shame.

Part ? - The Underwhere

- Halfway through the journey the Bros reunite but Peach is taken down into the Underwhere by Bowser!

- Determined to rescue her, the Bros prepare to go to the Underwhere...However, this comes at the cost of having to leave their dæmons behind, a process that is usually impossible and too painful - as dæmons cannot go too far from their humans. They are overcome by pain during the journey - but also realise that they can feel each other's pain; thus confirming that the spiritual connection that was thought to have been erased by the "barrier" is still there!

Part ? - The Final Battle

- The strong bond of their brotherly love (as well as the Power Star) is what is able to heal all worlds of the darkness leaking out from the Darklands.

Part ? - Post Adventure

- The Power Star "broke" the barrier and allowed them to finally interact with each other's dæmons again ❤💚

Okay, okay, okay. Finally getting around to answering this. Peony time... 2!

(One again, for the uninitiated, Peony is my Taransusie fankid who sees ghosts and is a liiiitttle bit convinced she's some sort of untouchable, invincible goddess)

🧃 (Juicebox) - What species are they? What’s their biology and physiology like? Do they differ in any way from a ‘typical’ member of their species?

Peony is half Insectoid (more specifically Arachnid Insectoid) and half Neumann.

Insectoids are, obviously, the species Taranza is a member of. They come in many different subspecies, with Arachnids being one of those. Insectoids as a whole are known for having an extremely powerful affinity for Soul magic. (This is where Taranza's puppeteering abilities come from. Them, as well as his eerie ghost summoning abilities in Star Allies and Sectonia's bodysnatching powers are all examples of Soul magic used in different ways).

"Neumann" is the name for Susie and the Mage Sisters' species in my Kirbyverse... because, yes, they're the same species. Susie's just a little... um, UNIQUE in comparison to other Neumanns by virtue of having transcended the majority of her mortal flesh.

Neumanns, too, have an incredible affinity for magic... at least, in certain contexts. You see, usually they aren't born with the ability to use it. Instead, their latent powers only awaken in life-threatening situations, absorbing the magical energy of whatever's around them and overloading them with it. This is, of course, what happened to the Mage Sisters. Interestingly, because most people aren't having near-death experiences on the regular, a majority of Neumanns haven't actually developed magical powers despite their proclivity for it.

Seeing as how she's a mix, Peony has some oddities by the standards of both species.

For one, whereas most Arachnids are covered in a full layer of fine 'fur,' Peony is not. At most, she just has a peach fuzz in some areas.

With four hands, she's somewhere between the Arachnid's six and the Neumann's two. Similarly, she only has one pair of eyes on the back of her head, giving her six total as opposed to the typical Arachnid's eight.

Her main set of front-facing eyes resemble Neumann eyes instead of the traditional glowing white Arachnid eyes.

She'll grow up to be rather small for a female arachnid (with there being sexual dimorphism in the species), but still taller than the rest of her family.

It's specifically being an Arachnid/Neumann hybrid that allowed for Peony to develop the powers she did. Half of her DNA was already predisposed towards Soul magic and the other half was just waiting for a spark. When the ghosts helped stabilize her and Taranza healed her during her near death experience, she was supercharged with Soul magic, and she's been a weird little freak ever since ❤

💫 (Shooting Star) - If they were to wish on a clockwork star, like Galactic Nova or Star Dream, what would they wish for?

I think... Peony would be hesitant to wish on a Clockwork Star, considering her mother's history with them. If she were to fully vet one and be certain it's functional, what she'd want to wish for would, of course, be to bring the ghosts back to life, but that wouldn't be able to happen, even with the power of a Clockwork Star. I'm fully of the opinion that if someone tries to use one to undo death Morpho Knight will show up, destroy the Clockwork Star, and kick that person's ass.

With that off the table, I think her next choice would be unlimited power and full mastery over her magical abilities. But "unlimited power" sounds like the sort of wish a villain would make, and so maybe we should keep the little scamp away from Clockwork Stars for now [Nervous laughter]

🐛 (Caterpillar) - What are your OC’s greatest fears, and why? How do they act or react when they’re afraid?

I've already answered this one for Peony, but rather than leave this blank, why don't I answer for someone else? This time, instead of answering for Peacekeeper, I think I'll answer for Glock.

Glock is another one of my fankids, and in fact, he's Peony's best friend! He's a lot more subdued than she is, though, and so he has... um, a lot of fears.

He doesn't like loud noises or sharp objects. He's scared of the dark and of being alone. Sometimes, he's even scared of Peony and her weird powers or the shenanigans she tries to drag him into.

His biggest fear, however, is probably being seen as a disappointment. He knows he's nothing special and not super impressive or brave, so he's inclined to believe people probably think he's boring at best and a burden at worst. This is especially true of how he thinks his parents see him.

When it comes to "fight or flight," he's definitely a "flight" sort of person, although before even that he's inclined towards "freeze." When he's frightened, he sometimes doesn't know how to react, and so he just cowers and waits for the worst, hoping someone else will come rescue him.

This is also true of his more metaphorical fears. Rather than try to fix them or confront anyone over them, he just sort of accepts them as fact. He is a disappointment... nothing much he can do about that.

Little guy could probably use some of his bestie's overconfidence and spunk.

💥 (Collision) - What’s your OC’s combat style like? Do they adhere to any particular code of honor or ethics in a fight, or are they totally unfettered by that sort of thing?

Peony's combat style, obviously, revolves around the use of Soul magic. To a lesser degree this involves things like firing blasts of energy, but for the most part she focuses on channeling the ghosts. She uses her powers to temporarily manifest them in the real world and has them attack people for her... although one of them is much better at it than the other. Who would have guessed that a merciless, demented woman with the ability to cast chain lightning is infinitely more imposing than a random middle aged man?

As she grows older, Peony also learns how to wield both a gun and a rapier. The former, of course, is a skill taught to her by her mom, whereas the latter is a skill taught to her by the aforementioned "merciless demented woman." She's quite skilled at both, and usually carries them in the form of a bayonet that she can then separate with magic.

Another thing she acquires when she's older is a pair of mechanical wings. They're technically completely unnecessary, considering she's a member of a species that can literally float, but she thought they'd be cool, insisting that any emissary of death needed a set, seeing as how the actual Grim Reaper has wings. She can use these to get around relatively fast in combat.

Theoretically, Peony also has the ability to drain peoples' life force or even outright rip souls from their bodies, but seeing as how she's mostly a good cookie, she'd never do anything like that unless it were absolutely necessary.

cupid clowns (or other words know as matchmakers for their tendencies to try and find all love and affection related things) are a smaller breed of clowns (or as most of you may know as jollies) they typically grow up to be four or so feet tall when fully grown and typically weigh 106 pounds at fully grown age as well, Their patterns and coloring typically only appears with warmer colors though some have reported to have cupid jollies with cooler tones such a as purple, blue, grey, etc,

Cupid jollies most common coloring are pinks, red, oranges, and yellows, they typically had heart patterns that are completely normal and are also apart of their makeup markings, white hairs are also fairly normal with this breed as well as their adorable mini wings, though you shouldn't teach them to fly until at least seven years old due to the sizing of their wings being dangerous for them to fly too young, it could result in severe injuries and also can effect their mental health when failed, they typically have big eyes that sparkle and tinkle when first born, though the large eye part stays throughout it's livelihood,

Basic behavior and interests of a cupid jollies:

Cupid jollies love scavenging, they will often try to scavenge and collect the following:

♡ Anything warm colored

♡ Roses

♡ cherry, strawberry, peach, and apple flavored things

♡ heart or star related things, such as stickers, fabrics with said patterns on them, dolls, Lilly's, daises, all things they collect for their nests

I thought that I finally share with you DDI fans my ToJun fankids. ToJun is the name of the pairing of Toro Inoue x Jun Mihara. 🐱🤍🩷🐰

I've came up with 3 cabbit (obvious term for fictional hybrid between a cat and a rabbit) children. Toro and Jun's 3 cabbits are fraternal TRIPLETS!

In order:

Triplet A: Hito Inoue, the first son. Name in kanji: 井上陽人 (Inoue Hito). His fur color is white like his father's. And his first name means "Sunlight, Positive Person".

Triplet B: Seiru Inoue, the second son. Name in kanji: 井上星路 (Inoue Seiru). His fur color is pink like his mother's. And his first name means "Star Road, Path".

Triplet C: Moka Inoue, the only daughter. Name in kanji: 井上桃花 (Inoue Moka). Her fur happens to be in a pale light red color (#ff7f7f). Possible fur color inherited from a grandparent either from her father's or mother's side. Also red + white = pink. And her first name means "Peach Flower, Blossom".

The Inoue Triplets all have their dad's body type while having big lop ears like their mom except fluffier and pointy. Hito and Seiru both have eyes like Toro's while Moka has Jun's eyes. Plus, they have cute fluffy cottonball tails. And of course, the 3 ToJun cabbits all have rosy cheeks.

♡°• Alrighty! Our first fan character! Well sort of, she is technically an official Utauloid now.

♡°• Kozuko is 15 years of age an an aspiring idol who has the goal of bringing the Vocaloid fandom back to the glory days of the 2000s-2010s!

♡°• Her mascot item is the peach, chosen because the colours match well with her colour scheme and my own fondness of the fruit while also factoring in Len Kagamine and Kamui Gakupo's fame being partially thanks to the innuendos that their mascot items have.

♡°• Her name roughly translates to "Child of the Revival Song". I was inspired by the meanings behind Miku, the twins, and Luka's names! So seeing as the previously mentioned's names all have something to do with who they are or their purpose, I did the same with Kozuko.

♡°• Kozuko, as I have found is shipped a lot with Len in my friend groups. (My obnoxious writing about it probably doesn't help...) Seeing as any good star on the rise in the Vocaloid community needs a good ship, Len was singled out because of not only my own personal interests but because of my friend group and I's own personal headcanons for Len. Them both also having innuendos fruits as their mascots is also pretty funny, match made in heaven.

♡°• Kozuko's design is mostly inspired by Miku's beta design. Kozuko's whole spiel is reviving/reusing/recycling things, so pulling most of her design from that felt fitting.

♡°• Kozuko's colour scheme was chosen due to the lack of green respect in the world. That's it. I also just really like green.

♡°• Her birthday is October 21st because that is the day she was designed and showed to my friends!

♡°• Although my word isn't final here because I want her personality to be up to viewer, I have a few headcanons myself! While I'm introducing her, I might as well lay the ground work for a handful of her common personality traits!

♡°• To me, Kozuko is a sweet, ditzy air head who means well but struggles to convey her thoughts and often winds up saying something really stupid sounding. I wouldn't say she is a yandere or even really possessive🤔 It's more she just hyperfixates on things. She is also kinda just dumb and probably doesn't even know her times tables, and if I had to guess she probably forgets stuff fast too.

♡°• She is roughly 5'3, not counting her ponytail and bow. Her weight is an undetermined right now but she probably weighs about the same as Miku🤔

♡°• Her voice is very sweet. She sounds pretty similar to Luka but if she was younger🤔 She is supposed to sound closer to Rin but my voice just turned out sounding this way in the system so oh well ('□`)

♡°• Oh yeah! I am also Kozuko's VA! Eventually I *will* get a sound clip up here, but right now I don't have any good demonstrations and her VB is actually going under some adjustments right now because I'm unhappy with how she pronounces some things. (She has a lisp right now which I did not want even if it is cute sometimes.)

♡°• Her number is 09 for purely no reason other than I like the number.
