Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
This work was created for the 2024 @cloneficgiftexchange, for @jedipoodoo! I loved the prompts you gave me, and I had a ton of fun writing this - I hope you like it!
Fandom: Star Wars
Summary: Rex and his Jedi SO get stranded on Ilum in the middle of a bad snowstorm, but it turns out to be just the Life Day gift they were hoping for.
Word Count: 1,640
Category: Fluff
A/N: Special shoutout to @ghostofskywalker for the Fictober request that made me feel confident enough to write for the clones! It's been so much fun to venture into writing this part of the fandom, and I never could've done it without you đŸ„°
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
"Like I said, we'll try to get back to you guys tonight if we can. But I don't think that's likely."
Obi-Wan and Anakin frowned at me from the small projection on my wrist communicator in sync.
"Are you sure? We barely left a hour ago. Has it really gotten that much worse?"
I started nodding before Anakin had even finished the question.
"I almost lost Rex in his white armor when he went outside to scout before I called you. He was five feet from me. I spit and it froze almost before it cleared my lips."
"Why did you spit?" Obi-Wan asked, his frown deepening. This time it was Anakin and I's turn to give him a look in perfect sync.
"To see how bad it was by how quickly it froze," Anakin answered for me. "What else?"
Obi-Wan didn't dignify that with a response, just an eyeroll.
"Alright," he said, moving past Anakin and I's conversation. "If you aren't able to get off-planet by tomorrow morning, call us again. We'll come back with more equipment and find a way to dig you out."
I nodded. "Sounds good. I'll check in with you guys in the morning. Hopefully you won't have to make the trip back, but if you do... make a pitstop to grab some flame throwers from Ki-Adi-Mundi."
Obi-Wan huffed a laugh, while Anakin looked much too excited beside him.
"Hopefully, that won't be necessary," Obi-Wan said. "Stay warm and stay safe."
"Will do."
"See you tomorrow with flame throwers."
I snorted and gave the boys a little wave at Anakin's sign-off. Hopefully for everyone involved, this storm would clear and we'd be able to get out of here without Anakin needing to go within a lightyear of a flamethrower.
I sighed, surveying the space Rex and I would be occupying for the rest of the evening. We'd been here following a few strange feelings in the Force Obi-Wan, Anakin, and I had had surrounding Ilum, one of the best and only places in the galaxy to get the crystals for our lightsabers. For fear of the Separatists trying to mess with the place, Obi-Wan and Anakin had come with Rex and I, along with a good portion of the 501st, had come to investigate. We'd searched high and low and mediated on it at length, and thankfully, found nothing amiss. We'd taken our time moving everybody out, since we had no reason to rush, and Rex and I had planned to be the last out after doing one last check of the crystal sites and making sure none of our men left anything behind. We'd done both of those things, but we'd also ended up catching the beginning of one of the planet's worst snow storms.
Luckily for us, we'd set up a nice camp in a spacious, well-protected ice cave. It had been our whole group's base of operations while on planet, and now Rex and I had it all to ourselves. We hadn't even had to rebuild the fire.
In a weird way, this was exactly what Rex and I had been looking for. Despite some of the stricter interpretations of Jedi rules, throughout the course of the war, Rex and I had slowly but surely fallen in love with each other. We'd come to the mutual decision to act on those feelings a while ago, but between the need for secrecy and the galactic conflict we found ourselves in the middle of, we didn't get a lot of time to spend however we wanted, just the two of us, without interruptions.
"It's official," came Rex's voice, returning from his scouting at the mouth of the cave. He came into sight a moment later, stopping with his hands on his hips. "Looks like we're snowed in."
I sighed. "I figured as much. I just got off the phone with Anakin and Obi-Wan. They're gonna circle back for us if they don't hear anything from us by tomorrow. I told them we're all set with supplies and everything else we need for tonight."
Rex smiled at that, looking more relaxed than I usually got to see him as he crossed the space to stand just in front of me.
"So... you're saying we have this place completely to ourselves until tomorrow?"
I grinned. "That's exactly what I'm saying."
"Finally. We're overdue for a bit of time together, just the two of us."
"No kidding we are. So... I'll get blankets, you get snacks, and we can finally watch that new Life Day holo we keep seeing everywhere we go?"
Rex gave me a grin.
"That sounds perfect to me. Meet back here in ten?"
"Deal."
The two of us moved in separate directions, each going to the place where our gear was stashed around the now mostly packed camp. I grabbed a whole heap of blankets, then snagged my favorite sweater of Rex's and pulled it over my head. Hopefully he wouldn't mind.
I brought back my bounty of blankets and pillows to the center of the room, right beside the fire, then started the work of building them into a nice cozy spot where Rex and I could cuddle up. Our timing was proof of just what a good team we made, as I heard Rex coming back from the boxes of food and kitchen supplies right as I finished putting together our nest of fluffy things.
I straightened up with a smile, but my jaw dropped when I saw what he carried.
"Is that hot chocolate?" I asked, my heart absolutely leaping at the prospect. Instead of answering, Rex gave a little considering frown in my direction.
"Is that my sweater?"
I gave him a sheepish grin. "Yeah. It's so soft and cozy, I was hoping you'd let me get away with the theft."
Rex let out a theatrical sigh, but he smiled at me a moment later.
"Alright. As long as you promise to share the warmth."
"I promise. Now give me that hot chocolate."
Rex laughed as he handed the mug over to me, then the two of us settled into the puddle of blankets. I curled up against Rex's chest, legs tangled on top of his as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. I sighed once we'd gotten comfortable, weeks and months of stress from the war melting away in a single minute with Rex.
I sipped at my hot chocolate, letting the peace of the moment sink into my bones, then turned to glance at my wonderful partner.
"Where did you even get this hot chocolate?"
He grinned down at me. "Special supply request through the GAR. I said it was for morale, since it is."
I beamed up at Rex. He was truly the best bright spot and partner I could've asked for, and I wanted to make sure he knew it.
"I love you. You know that, right? I love you so, so much Rex."
He smiled warmly back at me, gently squeezing my arm as he did.
"I do know that. And I love you too. You're the greatest gift I could've asked for."
I leaned up towards Rex with a glance at his lips, and he quickly got the hint, leaning down to meet me halfway. The kiss wasn't anything especially scandalous or heated, just a soft peck, but it got my heart racing all the same. Moments like this were rare for both of us, and I treasured every single one, especially since I had no idea when the next one might come along.
"So..." mused Rex with a soft smile once we finally pulled apart. "Should we start that Life Day holo?"
"Yeah, let's do it. I'm excited to see what all the hype is about."
"If it reached us all the way out here in the middle of the war, it better be damned good."
"Right? If it's not, though, I do have a few backup holos we can use to recover from the disappointment."
"That's good, because I have a lot of hot chocolate stashed back there, and I think we need to finish it tonight. That way none of the men start asking questions about why I managed to dig some up for you, but not for them."
I shot Rex a look as he started the holo, the opening credits playing on our portable data pad.
"I'm pretty sure most of them wouldn't be surprised. We're a 'secret' the same way Anakin and Padmé are a secret. The only difference is we're not as oblivious about how many people have figured us out."
Rex just laughed. "True enough. I think all of them support us, anyway."
"I know they do. But just in case, I'll plan on making some time to bake cookies or something on the way to our next engagement. That way there's no hard feelings all around."
"...Can you make the ones with the peppermint in them?"
"Of course. As if I'd use anything other than your favorite recipe."
Rex and I shared another smile, then he kissed my forehead as we both shifted our attention to the holo just getting underway. I could hear his heart beating from where I rested my head against his chest, just over the sound of the crackling fire and the wind howling outside. The universe had apparently decided to give Rex and I a little Life Day present in the form of some rare time together, just the two of us, to spend however we wanted. And I couldn't thank it enough.

Never again (Rex X female reader one shot)
Tumblr media
Word count: 2478
((You and Rex met early during the clone wars. Soon things turned romantic between the two of you. You were off world when order 66 happened. Panicking to find Rex, clone force 99 finds you, and having grown close to Echo, you went with them. When Rex unexpectedly shows up at Cid bar you nearly break at seeing him))
   "Twenty cases of those mantell mix things?! How long have those two been doing that?" Echo's loud voice carried as the four of us filed out of Cid's office into the narrow hall way.
   "I have surmised they have been partaking in this recreational activity for several rotations now". Tech configured, eyes never leaving his datapad.
You shrugged. "It's become a thing they do together after every mission".
Echo grumbled. "A costly one". He did have a point. Hunter wasn't too happy about it either from his narrowed brows and slightly clenched jaw. It was bad enough we owed Cid for basic rations, but now we owed her for this? You sighed.
Wrecker was just treating Omega to a harmless and delicious treat, but unfortunately that treat was racking up credits on your tab. That was exactly what you were trying to avoid.
Hunter let out a deep sigh. "I'll talk to them".
You knew how much he didn't enjoy seeing Omega upset, but maybe he could compromise with her. A way for her to still have the after mission snack while owing Cid a bit less. Frankly though, would you ever owe Cid less?
At this rate, it was doubtful.
Sounds of blaster fire and some sort of crash coming from the bar had your immediate attention. Hunter was the first of you to race ahead to the noises. You and Echo were not far behind, riding his heels. Reaching the bar all of you watched as the remaining species fled from the scene. Only individual left was a hooded figure, gripping on tightly to a singular blaster. The source of said blaster shots.
Something about his demeanor and cloaked face felt known to you. But you couldn't place it. Until your scanning gaze fell to his forearm armor.
White and and blue.
Your breathing paused. Unable to register what you were truly seeing.
It couldn't be.
It was not possible.
But it all became real when the hidden figure reached up and pulled back his hood. Revealing his familiar face to you.
You were stunned at the sight before you. At the person standing mere feet from you.
    "Rex". Hunter said surprised. He was just as shocked to see him here as the rest of you were.
You on the other hand forgot how to breath. Your eyes froze on his figure. Eyes roaming him up and down repeatedly to make sure that he was not a hallucination. A well of emotions came rushing into you. Like someone had punched you in the gut.
He was alive.
Rex was actually alive. Tears were beginning to swell in the corners of your eyes as you racked your brain for anything. But nothing.
Everything had left your head at just seeing him standing here. At the way he was looking at you. Surprised was not how he felt. No. If anything he was beyond thrilled to see you.
The second your name and where to find you left the sisters lips he plotted his course. He had to see you. Take you in his arms and never let you go. His chest rose and fell in rapidly succession at your presence.
It was as if everything and everyone around you two had faded into the backyard and you were the only two in existence. Just you and Rex. Your beating heart picked up speed the longer you stared at one another. The way he was looking at you. That smile painted across his lips, maker that smile. If not for the shock, you were certain your knees would buckle and give out from under you.
Even the way his essence was calling out to you. Beckoning you towards him.
You were hesitant, however.
Tech's earlier statements about the inhibitor chips coming to the front of your thoughts. Bracing yourself and taking a deep breath you pushed past Hunter.
Inch by inch you moved closer. Searching his face for proof that he wasn't here to hurt you, any of you. For any indication that he hadn't turned. All the while he continued to stare at you with that look that made your heart flutter and ache so desperately.
Being this close to him, even on edge, force, was he still himself. Still your Rex.
   "Starglow". The unshed tears filling your eyes, broke open. You instantly knew.
This was him.
Your Rex.
He wasn't going to hurt you. Not now. Not ever. Because of this you leapt into his awaiting arms. Crashing your body against his and tightly securing your arms around his neck. His arms found your waist and pulled you close. Orange blossoms. Oh how he had missed that smell of yours. How he had missed the feel of you.
    "Rex". Your voice cracked as you spoke his name for the first time out loud, in several rotations. "Y-your here".
   "I am mesh'la". He choked back his own sob. "And maker I've missed you". So had you. So much that it had ached like a festering wound. Neither of you dared nor wanted to pull away, but you did, reluctantly so.
You grasped his face between your hands, studying it closely. His piercing brown eyes staring into your green ones. How the came alive underneath the dim gray and blue lights of the bar.
The texture of his dirty blonde stubble underneath your fingers. The scratchy nature of how it felt. The barely visuals scars etched into his skin. The way his lips framed his face so beautifully. You had missed him. And you didn't know just how much until he was mere inches from your face. From your lips.
Both of you were aware of it. How you both longed to touch one another. Close the distance the feel the warmth of the others lips. Rex's eyes were the ones to make the first move. Gliding over how lush they appeared. Parted just so. And with the simple action of your tongue running over them in anticipation that's all it took for him to break.
Lips collided with yours in a desperate plea. Fighting to feel, to touch the other after thinking one another dead. The mere sensation of his lips molding into yours sent your body into overdrive. You always lost yourself in his kiss. In his embrace. No one else made you feel as alive as Rex did.
That smile of his, you knew the one, that gave you butterflies. And when it would change into a smirk, may the force have mercy on you. You heart couldn't take it. His infectious laughter that would echo off the walls of whatever environment he was in. Usually caused by one of his fellow 501st members telling a dreadful joke. Who would have thought you'd lose all of that in the blink of an eye. Only for it turn up weeks later. Safe and sound.
Thankful you were that those memories didn't have to become mournful ones. Instead they could continue to exist as they were. Ones that held promises for the future.
It had been a grueling time not knowing. Waiting and waiting for any signs, but now it was over.
You Practically slumped into his chest as he just held you close to his heart. The steady beating of it the only sound that could kept you grounded in this instant. The cold surface of his armored platting on your cheek was a welcomed sensation.
You needed this. To feel his heartbeat. To know that he was real. That he was right here, in this moment. Nearly losing him almost destroyed you.
You let out a shaky breath. "I though I lost you, Rex". Tears slid down your cheeks. "I though my —you—" you couldn't even finish that sentence. Rex knowing the pain you went through, as it was the same pain he experienced. He tightened his arms around you, nestling his head in the crock of your neck.
Feeling his arms around you, like a warm protective blanket you started to relax. The muscles in your body becoming less tense, Knowing that he was safe. That he was right in front of you.
His own muscles started to calm. Like a fleeting flame. He didn't have to worry or fret over searching for you anymore. He had found you.
As crazy as it sounded he would have gotten on his knees and physically thanked the force, to the stars and back again that he had you back.
He let out his own unsteady exhale. "I know".
He did not want to pull away from you, but like you he had the overwhelming urge to see your face. See all the marks and impressions he hadn't seen it what felt like a lifetime.
Needing something to anchor him, he sought out the one thing that could. You.
It was always you.
Bringing you closer, he touched his forehead to yours. Kissing you was so very intimate, but this. This was too. At least between the two of you.
"I'm here now, riduuar and I don't plan on going anywhere". He promised.
You shook your head, confused. "I don't understand. How—wh-what happened?"
Thousands of questions twisted around inside your head. How did this all happen? Why did it happen? Could no one have seen what had transpired? It was encompassing. Paired with Rex bring here. By the maker you were finally feeling the affects of todays mission catching up with you.
"I'll explain everything". He promised, seeing how exhausted you were becoming. "But right now, I just want to hold you". You simple nodded.
You wanted answers and you were certain that he'd tell you everything later, but right now his request, you could and would fulfill-it. As easy as breathing.
"Thank the f-force your safe". You whispered against his chest plate.
He ran his gloved fingers through your hair. Committing every moment he'd done this before to memory.
Kissing you was absolutely his favorite thing, without a doubt. But this. This was a close second. Something about it soothed him. Made any tense or stressful situation better.
Too engrossed in one another aura's, basking in it, you had forgotten that you had an audience. An audience that was rendered speechless by the affections exchanged between you and the now ex captain of the 501st Battalion.
All expect the ex arc trooper standing off to the side. Who had known the full extent and lengths of Rex's and yours relationship. He was present there that day. One of only a few who were witnesses to the pledge you both proclaimed.
It was undeniable, the love you two shared with each other. No doubt in Echo's mind that the both of you were meant to be together.
Wrecker was the first of the group to speak. "W-what...did I miss something?!"
Tech was the next one to speak, offering up an explanation, "Technically no. By my calculations Rex and Y/N have been in a committed romantic relationship for a standard 368 days".
His much larger brother simply stared at him in confusion.
"A standard year, Wrecker". Echo quickly explained. Understanding he formed an 'O' shape with his lips.
You and Rex both shook your heads. "Longer". Tech blinked. "It's actually been 2 standard years since we told one another how we felt". You locked eyes with Rex, your continued smile everything to him in that moment.
The Captain nodded. "It's been one since we said I do". That had their full attention.
Hunter took a step towards you. "Y-your married?"
You nodded. "Yes. Off record though. Only a few were able to know". You gestured to the former arc trooper. "Echo being one of them".
The Sergeant turned his eyes to the newest member of the group. "You were there?"
"Me and a few others were the only ones". He replied to which Hunter nodded. Satisfied. Knowing the full extent of the reprimand the Captain would receive if the Council found out the truth. That he was married to a princess.
The consequences for such an act could have cost him his position. Or worse. His life. Thus a secret their relationship needed to be. Unfortunately.
"Well then uhh congratulations to you both". Hunter replied, rubbing the back of his neck.
You nodded in acknowledgment to Hunter. When you thought you had lost Rex, he was the one to step up and comfort you. Reassuring you that you'd be okay. Even if in that moment you didn't feel as though you would.
All of them really made you feel welcomed. After all they were the ones who stumbled across you. Ushering you to come with them. Saying that they could protect you and guarantee your safety. You accepted. Thank the maker you had. If not, then maybe you would have never seen Rex again. And that left a bitter taste on your tongue.
"Thank you". You said at the same time as Rex slipped his hand into yours.
Love was a concept that Rex never thought was possible for him. He never dreamed of having it because it was instilled in him early on that clones were bred with one singular purpose. To fight for the Galactic Army of the Republic. Never had the thought nor idea of finding someone, in that regard, crossed his mind.
Until you came into his life. Changing everything for the better.
"Your here". You whispered into him. You were still in disbelief. Tears streaming down your cheeks like an endless river. Rex lifted his gloved fingers to swipe away your tears, that affectionate grin warming your body. "Your really here".
He was real, yet you still couldn't wrap your head around it, but that wasn't important. All that mattered was him. What this meant for you. For the life you promised to build together that day overlooking the lake when you swore an oath through vows. When you both said 'I do'.
"I am". He replied again. This time the power in which he uttered it, caused your body to shake. The weight those two words held. What they signified.
"I love you". Was your quick response. Even if Rex knew it deep down in his soul, to hear it again from your lips made him so beyond happy.
Another kiss found it's way to your lips. "I love you too".
Smiling, you pressed in closer to his chest. Wanting to be close to him for as long as physically possible. Rex was your everything. Your best friend. Your lifeline. To him, you were his entire world. All roads led you back to one another.
Determined he was that the force weld it so. And as far as the Captain was certain he wouldn't allow you to be parted from him ever again. Not while there was still blood flowing through his veins.

a/n: lmao this was taken straight from my anakin fic on wattpad but it makes a good oneshot too, on wattpad it is an x oc though
song: perfect - ed sheeran
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anakin and you are in the bedroom of a house that you two were temporarily staying at. Anakin is wearing a long sleeved shirt with the front buttons open.
He sits next to you on the bed and looks down. He frowns at his mechanic hand.
You look at him and see him try to cover the hand, "Ani?"
"Hm?"
"What's wrong? Is it the arm? Is it hurting you?"
"No, love," he kisses your head.
"Well why are you trying to hide it," you frown at him.
"Well, I- do you think it looks bad?"
You then realize that he's insecure about it, your heart hurts.
"Ani," you whisper, "nothing, and I mean nothing, about you is or looks bad. That arm will not change a single thing I feel for you. I think it makes you look strong," you smile.
"But.."
"No buts!" You pick up the mechanical hand, he watches you as you kiss it. You continue to kiss each of the knuckles. His eyes water.
You leave a few more soft kisses on it and gently place it down. You look up at him and wipe his tears. You leave a gentle kiss on his lips, "I love you. No matter what."
"I love you," he hugs you and rests his chin on your head for a moment. He stands up and walks onto the balcony, pulling you with him. He turns to you as you gaze at the unreal sunset.
"Y/n," he whispers. You look at him and he reaches into his pocket. He opens a small box and you look at the most gorgeous ring you have ever seen. "Marry me."
"Ani... I- what about the Jedi?"
"I don't care about that. I love you. You are my life. Marry me," he whispers.
"I'll marry you," tears fall down your face and you smiles. Anakin grabs your left hand and places a kiss on it, he slides the ring on as he looks into your eyes.
He pulls you into a love filled kiss. He kisses you like his life depended on it. Your lips on each other, so perfect it's like they were made for one another.
Tumblr media
In a garden on Naboo, there are waterfalls in the back, flowers everywhere, a bright sun, and the air is warm.
There is an archway decorated with the most beautiful flowers and vines. A Naboo holy man stands underneath.
There are three chairs on the grass. Anakin stands under the arch in a suit, nervously looking around.
Then, Padmé walks out with some flower petals, she grins at the nervous boy and winks as she throws some petals into a path. When she's done she takes a seat in one of the chairs.
Next is Artoo and Threepio. Artoo happily bleeps his way down the path with Threepio walking next to him. They get to the holy man and give him the rings. Threepio then takes his seat and Artoo stands next to him.
Lastly, are you with Obi-Wan on your arm.
You are wearing a white wedding gown. It has some very, very, light pastel flowers embroidered onto the skirt. It's made out of a soft and flowy fabric that elegantly drapes over your curves. The dress has an ethereal effect and it has a medium length train. The beautiful layers of the skirt fabric are cascading down like a waterfall.
Your hair is in a stunning, but somewhat loose, bun in the back of her head, you also have flowers in your hair. You have light makeup on with the biggest smile on your face.
Anakin has tears falling down his face at the mere sight of her, he has to bite his lip to stop it from wobbling. He quickly wipes away the tears and swallows nervously.
You get to the end of the aisle and face Anakin. Obi-Wan walks to his seat and sits down. The holy man starts his wedding speech and they get the vows. After they exchange their loving words, they both are crying again. Obi-Wan smiles, he's more than happy for you both, as is Padmé.
"Anakin Skywalker, do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"Y/n L/n, do you take this man to be your husband, to live together in matrimony, to love him, to honor him, to comfort him, and to keep him in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do."
"Repeat after me," the holy man says. "I, Anakin Skywalker, take you Y/n L/n, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
Anakin repeats the words with a smile.
The holy man turns to you, "I, Y/n L/n, take you Anakin Skywalker, to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."
You repeat and then place the ring on Anakin's finger and he places the other on yours.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Anakin grins and pulls you into a kiss as Obi-Wan, Padmé, and Threepio clap. Artoo lets out joyful whistles and bleeps.
You pull apart, and some flower petals gently fall on and around them. Your foreheads are connected for a moment and Anakin whispers, "My darling love, my wife."

Worth Saving
Plot: When you are on a stealth mission in a rebel base, Obi-Wan must listen from a distance. When you are found out, injured and trapped, Obi-Wan races to save you, even when you tell him it's not worth it.
Pairing: Obi-Wan Kenobi x Gn!Reader
Prompt: A is alone and hurt badly, they can talk to B through an earpiece/phone. Eventually A stops talking and B thinks they lost them. But they find them alive.
Requested By: Anonymous; this is a really old mystery prompt request lmao
A/n: I don't recall if they've ever even used ear-pieces in Star Wars except for with pilots in their ships, or if they just like...don't exist. But let's pretend they do lol
Warnings: Mild cursing, mentions of blood and death, wounds. Pretty angsty. Lack of a sense of self-worth from reader.
Words: 2.3k
Tumblr media
-
You tapped on the new piece of hardware hanging over your ear as you walked through the darkened backrooms of the base.
"Is this thing working?" You asked in a hushed tone.
"Yes, I can hear you just fine." You heard Obi-Wan's voice come through with a small amount of static mixed in.
"Oh good, now I can have your voice in my head telling me all the things I do wrong all the time now."
You could almost hear the smirk on Obi-Wan's face at your sarcastic remark before he replied "Perhaps this will stop you from making your impulsive decisions then."
"Don't get your hopes up."
Obi-Wan smiled again as he checked his scanners again. Even in these kinds of situations you could always make him smile.
He was nervous for you, being alone in a rebel base with no real knowledge of what you were actually looking for. And he hated that he was so far away, unable to get closer due to the base's ability to scan for ships.
So you snuck in yourself. Obi-Wan insisted on coming too, but you needed someone to be prepared to get you out fast, besides, if you got caught, there was a higher chance of him being recognized. You had a better ability of blending in, and no one knew your face, you couldn't be tracked back to the resistance.
"Damn"
Obi-Wan's heart dropped when he heard you curse, immedietely sitting up in his chair his hands hvering over the ships controls in case he needed to make his way to you.
"Y/n? What is it?"
"Someones coming, hold on." Your voice was barely audible, but Obi-Wan held his tongue, and his breath.
You snuck into a nearby room and leaned against the wall in the darkness. The sound of people walking past echoed through your ears.
Your heart was hammering as you held the handle of your phaser tightly.
"Y/n?" Obi-Wan's voice spoke softly, worry obvious.
"I'm good." You whispered and you heard an audible sigh of relief.
Looking around the room you had snuck into, you realized it was full of computers and paperwork. Looking closer, you saw drives locked up in a cabinet. Your interest piqued, you inched closer, wondering if the information on the drives might be valuable.
"I found a bunch of data drives"
"Any way of knowing what's on them?"
Breaking the lock, you took as many drives as you could fit in your bag. "No Idea but I grabbed some. I'm going to try and get into their system."
Able to hack in, you were only able to find one file on a potential weapon development for the rebels before you suddenly heard the door behind you slide open.
You dropped down, trying not to be seen, but you weren't fast enough.
"There they are!"
Through the comm's Obi-Wan heard an unfamiliar yell before the sound of weapons fire was heard. Obi-Wan immediately started the ship and made his way towards the base.
Hearing you grunt in pain, Obi-Wan's heart dropped "Y/n?"
"I've been hit" You said with panic in your voice as you fired your weapon at the rebels. Killing one, and wounding the other, you managed to get out of the room.
You raced down the corridors, your abdomen burning from your wound. As alarms started to blare through the base, you looked for a way out, but as the sound of running approached, you felt a sense of dread wash over you.
"I'll be there soon Y/n, can you get to the pick up point?"
"I'll get back to you on that."
Weapons fire filled the comm's again and panic coursed through Obi-Wan. He knew it was too dangerous to send you alone, he hated that he didn't go with you, he hated that he didn't risk the resistance being linked to the mission.
When silence came through the comm's Obi-Wan spoke "Y/n, what's going on?"
He heard your heavy breaths through the comm "I can't get out, they've got the place flooded with people. Obi-Wan, they knew I was here. They didn't just find me, they were looking for me."
Obi-Wan's breath caught in his throat "Are you sure?"
You nodded, forgetting that he couldn't see you "Yes, they knew"
Anger and worry coursed through him, who found out? Or, who betrayed you?
"Where are you?"
"I found a small storage room, I'm hiding in, I don't know if they'll find me. If they do, I'm screwed."
"How are your injuries?"
You looked down at your body and you swallowed. After the first hit to your abdomen in the control room, the ambush of rebels in the hall did more damage. You had been hit in the shoulder, arm and leg. It wasn't good, you already felt your body weakening.
Your clothes were burned from the phaser fire, the wounds were cauterized, but blood seeped from them due to your desperate escape.
"Not good."
Obi-Wan's stomach turned "I'm almost there, just hang on okay?"
"Obi-Wan, don't"
"Don't what?"
"Don't come for me."
"What are you talking about?"
"I'm too far into the base, it's too risky. And I'm too injured. It's not worth it."
Obi-Wan let out a scoff of anger and surprise.
"You mean you're not worth it?"
You always had this mindset. You always threw yourself into dangerous situations so other's didn't have too, because you thought you wouldn't be as missed, that you wouldn't be worth as much, that no one would really care if you died.
And he hated it, he hated that you didn't see your worth. He hated that you didn't see how much he cared.
Your silence told him exactly what he already knew.
"How can you still think that?" He asked, his voice desperate "How can you think after all this time, after all the people you've saved, that you aren't worth it?"
"It's an occupational hazard I guess." You spoke softly, obviously in pain, but he could hear the forced smile on your face as you spoke.
You were never one to want to worry him, so you always made jokes.
"Even if I don't think I'm worth it. It's too dangerous for you. The base is flooded with people, you may be a jedi, but you can't make it through all of them to find me. You'll get yourself killed."
"I'm coming to get you Y/n, nothing is stopping me."
Your heart was hammering in your chest, and you weren't sure if it was because of the pain, panic, or the way Obi-Wan was speaking.
"Is this what it feels like to be you, when I make reckless decisions?"
You heard Obi-Wan let out a soft huff "Yes"
"No wonder you always get so upset with me."
"Occupational hazard" He mumbled as his knuckles turned white due to the grip of his hands.
He could hear your voice slowly getting softer, you were loosing strength.
"I'm getting close Y/n, just hang on."
You could hear the sound of footsteps nearby and fear coursed through you. You pointed you weapon at the door, prepared to fire if needed. Even if you'd die here, you wouldn't let them take you out easily.
The footsteps faded and you felt relief wash over you. You hissed as a jolt of pain shot through your stomach.
"Y/n?"
"Obi-Wan, it's too late." Your voice was softer now, as your eyelids grew heavier. Your clothes slowly soaked with blood, your wounds aching.
"Don't you dare say that. I know you're stronger than this, so just stay awake, I'm almost there!"
Obi-Wan could feel himself losing to his emotions, but he didn't care, not now. He couldn't lose you, he wouldn't.
"Always so worried about me, always caring so much more than others. Why?" You were mumbling but Obi-Wan could still hear you.
Obi-Wan felt his eyes burning, hearing the pain and worry in your tone "Don't you know?"
"Yes. But If I'm going to die I'd like to hear it at least once."
Obi-Wan shook his head, "You're not going to die. You're going to hold on, and I'll tell you in person. How does that sound?"
"So now you're trying to bribe me into surviving?"
"Anything to make you stay"
You didn't notice your grip loosening and your gun falling to the floor, or the way your body began to slump. You tried to focus on Obi-Wan's voice, to stay awake, but you felt yourself falling into darkness.
"I don't...think I h-have...a choice"
"Y/n? Y/n!"
When you didn't response, and he was only met with silence and static, dread washed over him.
"Y/n?"
Seeing the base come into view, Obi-Wan began to land his ship. Fear, anger and determination coursed through him. He wouldn't believe you were gone, not until he found you. And if- if you were dead, he wouldn't leave you here, not alone.
Obi-Wan managed to get half-way through the base before encountering rebels. After a fight, and a light wound to his arm, he made his way through the base again.
Reaching out with the force, he felt for your presence, any sign of you nearby. Feeling nothing, he felt his heart clench painfully in his chest.
Suddenly, just for a second, he felt a familiar presence, a sort of warmth washed over him, but then it was gone. But it was enough for him as he picked up his pace, and began running.
Finding a small door sort of hidden in a corridor, Obi-Wan knew it would be the sort of place you would go too. Going in silently, his eyes immediately spotted you at the back of the small room and his heart dropped.
You were still, no movement could be seen. Your phaser was lying on the ground beside you, your hands limp and head to the side. Your clothes were soaked with blood, as phaser burns could be seen.
Obi-Wan ran to you taking your face in his hands. He felt relief wash over him. You were still alive, though barely.
He knew it would e dangerous getting you out. He'd have to carry you, but he was not leaving you. Scooping you up into his arms, he made his way out into the corridor. He could hear the sound of footsteps nearby. Taking a breath, he started to run, to get you to safety, so save you.
--- --- ---
You weren't sure how long you had been in the darkness, lost and numb. But slowly, you started to feel as though there was someone in the darkness with you. Like you were underwater and someone was reaching for you, all you needed to do was take their hand.
"Don't go Y/n."
The voice was familiar, but you had trouble placing it. It was warm, it felt safe.
"I'm right here, we're almost out of this, just don't let go."
Suddenly, like a jolt of electricity you realized. It was Obi-Wan. He had come for you after all. But you were sure you were dead. Weren't you?
No. Not yet.
Darkness swallowed you again, but you felt lighter, as though you weren't drowning anymore, but floating, waiting to wake up.
When your eyes finally fluttered open, the room around you was unfamiliar, but the presence beside you was a comforting one.
Obi-Wan stared at you for a moment, surprised by your sudden consciousness. Relief followed quickly though as he leaned forward.
You met his eyes before you spoke, your voice soft "You came for me"
He smiled softly "Of course I did."
"Even though I told you not too."
"Yes"
Your eyes wandered to his arm, which was now in a sling. "You got hurt"
"Yes."
He saw the guilt cross your face and he reached out and placed his hand over the top of yours. You met his eyes again as he spoke.
"It's nothing serious. I got off a lot better than you did. You've been asleep for days."
You looked down at Obi-Wan's hand as it encased yours. "I heard you, talking to me. Telling me to hold on."
Obi-Wan smiled softly. He knew what you were referring too. When he finally got you back to the ship, he reached out to you with the force. He knew there was a connection to the force within you, even if you refused to acknowledge it. That was how you could hear him.
"And you did hold on."
You nodded softly, seemingly lost in thought. Obi-Wan squeezed your hand softly and you looked back to his face. Your eyes remained locked in silence for a moment before he spoke.
"You asked why I cared so much for you" He began, his voice uncertain, knowing the things he wanted to say were meant to stay a secret. Knowing he was going back on his own training and beliefs for simply feeling them.
You shook your head, stopping him "You don't need to tell me Obi-Wan"
Silence fell as your eyes remained locked. You knew how he felt, and he knew how you felt. But that was all it could be. And you both knew it.
In a moment of desperation, before you thought you were going to die, you wanted to hear him say it, just once. But now you were alive, safe again. And those words could no longer be said again.
"It's okay." You said softly, your emotion obvious in your voice "I know."
Obi-Wan smiled, but there was only sadness and regret behind it.
He wanted to tell you so badly, but both of you understood the consequences if he let those emotions take hold of him. You smiled at him, but there was sadness behind it. The same as he held onto.
You both knew how you felt, and you both knew that feeling was worth holing onto, worth saving until you could final feel it freely. But for now, it would remain unsaid.
xx End xx
Not sure how I feel about how this came out, but I hope you enjoyed it!

No Matter What (Crosshair x Reader) - Platonic
Tumblr media
Words: 1.3k Warning: Fluff with a little bit of hurt/comfort. Synopsis: After settling on Pabu with Clone Force 99, (Y/N) goes on a self-given mission with Crosshair to bring their lost brother home. Standalone Sequel: Silence
After the assault on Mount Tantis and the death of Hemlock, things had been different for Clone Force 99. Echo had refocused his efforts on helping the build Clone Rebellion, taking with him Emerie and some of the clones rescued from the Advanced Science Division, among them Comet. Omega had seamlessly adjusted to life on Pabu once more, happy to be just another kid, growing up peacefully until she was ready to join the fight once more if she did.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair would take care of Jax, Bayrn, Eva, and Sami until they could be returned to their families. Each had decided it was time to retire, to discover who they were outside of being soldiers, and to find out what adventures life had in store for them now. However, they’d always be on call if Echo ever needed them.
(Y/N) on the other hand, would use her skills as a bounty hunter to help provide for the people of Pabu and help clones across the galaxy find their way once they were freed from the empire. Although she loved the peace Pabu offered and the small family unit she had gained with Clone Force 99, she wasn’t ready to settle down completely. Not when she still had questions that needed answering. Not when she still needed to find closure.
“I miss him too,” said Crosshair, picking up Tech’s broken goggles from the dashboard of (Y/N)’s ship. Seconds later, a sigh escaped him, hidden within it, regret and grief. The last time he’d spoken to Tech was on Kamino; once again, they’d gone their separate ways. If only he’d chosen differently. “You have to let him go (Y/N). He wouldn’t want you to hold on like this.”
“I can’t,” whispered (Y/N), stopping what she was doing and allowing Crosshair’s words to sink in. “I have to bring him home, even if I have to say goodbye one last time,” she added, admitting she knew there was a chance Tech was truly gone, but she couldn’t allow herself to believe it, not until she found him. “He never gave up on me when I was lost. Neither of you did. I won't give up on him now until he’s home.”
“Then I’m going with you,” said Crosshair, putting the broken goggles back on the dashboard, moving to sleeping racks, and setting another up, if only to make his point clear.
“Omega and the kiddos need you here,” commented (Y/N), attempting to protest. Although she already knew it was pointless. Crosshair was one of the most stubborn people she knew. Once he made up his mind, there was little that could change it.
“Hunter and Wrecker can handle things here until we get back,” declared Crosshair, turning to face (Y/N) before crossing his arms over his chest. “Right now, you need me more,” he added, although he did not admit he’d thought about going out there to look for his brother. Something didn’t sit right with him, leaving Tech out there.
“I’m not going to win, am I?” asked (Y/N), sighing as she walked the length of her ship. Filled with memories of the past, her life as a Jedi Knight that felt like a lifetime ago, and her new life as a bounty hunter and protector.
“Nope,” simply responded Crosshair, “You’re stuck with me this time Shortfire.”
The moment Crosshair entered the cockpit, he pushed the red button, activating the com channel. He spoke to Hunter, Wrecker, and Omega there, informing them of his impromptu decision to join (Y/N) on her journey. Framing it to make sure she had backup and would come home again.
“It wasn’t your fault (Y/N),” said Crosshair when (Y/N) entered the cockpit, following the routine she’d once taught Tech, checking over all the systems. There’s nothing either of us could have done to stop him from using Plan 99.”
“If I was there, I could have stopped him from falling,” admitted (Y/N), finally opening up about the guilt haunting her. When her family needed her most on Eriadu, she was across the galaxy, hiding from her past and the Jedi Hunters that had seemingly appeared overnight.
“You were protecting them. No one could have predicted Saw being on Eriadu, and no one could have predicted Tech sacrificing himself. Blaming ourselves won’t change the past (Y/N). It will only prevent you from finding peace and happiness, whatever that looks like.”
“For what it’s worth, Fortune Cookie, I’m glad you’re coming with me,” admitted (Y/N), bestowing Crosshair with a new nickname, replacing the old one of Snarky Sniper. “I don’t think I could do this alone.”
“We’re family until the end,” Crosshair replied, pulling (Y/N) into himself and wrapping her in a warm embrace that seemed foreign but familiar to them both. “Where do we start?”
“Where our fight ended,” responded (Y/N) with a shakey voice, recalling when she’d gone to Eriadu, risking everything to follow the monorail track in search of Tech. She’d found the car's wreckage but no sign of Tech. If there was any blood, the rain had long since washed it away; there was no body to be found or any trace that he was even there, just what remained of the car.
“Tantis?” questioned Crosshair, confusion evident in his quiet voice as he took up the co-pilot’s seat.
“Hunter said Hemlock was the one to return Tech’s goggles; there’s got to be some trace, a lead to follow somewhere,” replied (Y/N), a slither of hope present in her otherwise whispered voice. She dared not speak louder in case her fears grew stronger and became her cruel reality.
“Setting course for Tantis,” worded Crosshair as (Y/N) piloted the ship safely away from the small island. As per tradition, the people waved goodbye, Hunter, Wrecker, and Omega among them.
“Take good care of them, Gonky,” spoke Omega through her com, receiving a simple gonk! in confirmation.
“We’ll see when you come home,” added Hunter, his voice filled with acceptance as if he knew the day would come when (Y/N) went in search of answers. As if he knew one day she’d go on the self-given mission to bring Tech home. “Stay safe out there.”
“You got it, Havoc #1,” replied (Y/N).
“I’ll make sure she comes home in one piece,” declared Crosshair, resting the stump of his wrist on his lap, grabbing onto the handle beneath his seat as he prepared for the rough climb out of Pabu’s atmosphere, “Our family’s been through enough. None of us can handle another loss.”
“We’re not losing anyone this time. We’re bringing our lost brother home,” replied (Y/N), determination alight in her voice. One way or another, the small family unit was going to be reunited again, no matter how long it took.
“Remind me again,” started Crosshair, fiddling with Tech’s broken goggles; now they’d left Pabu’s atmosphere. A smirk appeared across his lips as he remembered Tech’s hobby of recording everything—even the little things. “What you told us before we went into our first battle.”
“No matter what, I’ve got your back. I’d take a bullet for you if it comes to that. In the bitter end, we’re gonna be the last one standing.”
The holoclip appeared before the two, glowing blue and fuzzy. Of course, Tech had recorded it. They were so young back then, naive to what would happen when the war ended, unprepared for the cruel galaxy they lived in.
“Looks like Tech knew you were going to ask,” commented (Y/N); the smallest of grins appeared across her lips as she launched them into hyperspace. “Do you think Omega knows it?” she asked, curious if the boys would have shared the almost promise with Omega, the brave little girl growing up far too quickly, growing up to be a fighter no less—the best of all of them.
“She knows. Hunter would have made sure of it,” replied Crosshair, hope flooding his voice despite the uncertainty they both faced. “No matter what, Shortfire, I’ve got your back until the end.”

Room for More
TBB x fem!reader (platonic)
Fandom: Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Summary: A Jedi padawan of Master Plo Koon, you'd been on the run since Order 66 was executed after the Wolfpack betrayed your master. Mostly hiding out in Ord Mantell, you soon encountered Clone Force 99. After helping out with some of their missions for Cid (and always hanging out with Omega), the Batch welcomed you under their wing. However, you don't talk to them that much if it isn't mission-related. A certain mishap may change that.
Warnings: mentions of death, minor angst, metions of Order 66, mentions and description of vomit and GERD (PLS DO NOT READ IF THAT BOTHERS YOU)
A/N: Not proofread or edited. Reader should be around 20 years old. Also, reader's experience with GERD is based on my experience with it (I'm no medical professional so disclaimer!!)
The journey on the way back to Ord Mantell is not always vibrant, but this time, it is. Blue streaks decorate the blackness of space as the Havoc Marauder travels back to Ord Mantell. The energy in the ship is unusually jolly after a mission; you could feel everyone's energy.
Cid's client this time was a sheriff. He hired you and the Batch to act as temporary bodyguards to drive away mercenaries from his town on a tropical planet. While you were there, you and the Batch befriended the local villagers. As a thank you gift, they gave you tons of food—enough for a real meal for the five of you—for the journey back to Cid's.
It seems they packed you some sort of noodles. It's incredibly saucy—almost a vibrant red—not that you mind. The smell is delicious, mild enough for Hunter to enjoy it properly, but enough that you can smell the blend of several different spices. Chopped out pieces of vegetables and meat are mixed into it, as well.
You sit on your bunk, quietly observing the Batch as you heartily eat the noodles. Wrecker, who practically wolfed down his big portion of the food, is now playing dejarik with Omega, who is multitasking between eating dinner and playing the game. The girl giggles as she continues to beat the gentle giant.
Tech and Echo are both seated by the ship's console. You could sense that they're relaxed and satisfied, as opposed to their usual tired state after a mission. They both eat the food while chatting with each other, a smile on each of their faces.
Your glance finally lands on Sergeant Hunter. With his food in hand, he leans on the wall as he watches over his crew. Looking at him, you can feel warmth radiate through your body, and you know that feeling to be Hunter's; it's just the Force's way of telling you how happy he is for the time being.
You smile to yourself, it's not every time that the Batch could enjoy like this. Your heart feels light just by watching them. They reminded you of the Wolfpack.
Oh.
Your heart turns heavy. You're quite past being angry with them: about turning their backs against the Jedi Order; about betraying the cause they fought for; and about killing Master Plo.
No. You just miss them. You miss how things were. You miss the warmth they brought with their presence. You crave for Master Plo's fatherly advice and care. You want to feel Wolffe's comforting hug after a failed campaign. You want to hear Sinker's and Boost's corny jokes that would distract you from the horrors of the war.
You just want them back—just like the old times.
Breaking out of your thoughts, you feel a lingering sensation. Looking up, you find Hunter looking at you with worry. It still surprises you, that after months of being with them, you still can't quite figure out how his enhanced senses work.
Regardless, you send him your signature tight-lipped smile. That awkward smile that graced your features upon your introduction to your new master. The one you gave the 104th battalion at your first campaign as their Commander. The one—
You huff, internally berating yourself for going there again. You really should control your thoughts better.
You quickly finish your food, before properly disposing of the container and utensils. Quickly, you head to the fresher to brush your teeth. Once you're done, you feel something in your stomach, as if you're still hungry, as if something is bubbling inside. You ignore it, just wanting to sleep so that your mind won't be plagued by unwanted thoughts. It's hard at night, the dark thoughts always seem to get worse then.
Heading to your bunk, you collapse on it; everything you and the Batch did the past few days finally catching up to you as your adrenaline drops. It doesn't take long before you're curled up on your bunk, asleep.
You don't even know how long it's been, but suddenly you sit upright and swing your legs over your bunk. Without thinking, you walk briskly to the fresher, slamming the door shut before hunching over the toilet and immediately expelling your dinner.
You groan, slumping down on the fresher floor. You could feel something bubbling in your stomach again, forcing it's way up, along with a strong pinch in your abdomen. The aftermath of your vomit tastes like dinner and something sour.
Just then, a knock is heard. "Are you okay?" Hunter's gruff but calming voice calls out.
Shakily, you stand and flush the toilet before washing your hands.
"Yeah, I'm fine," you reply calmly, masking the pain that you're feeling.
Hunter suddenly opens the fresher door, making you jump. He looks at you worriedly.
"I can hear your stomach, doesn't sound good."
You walk past him into the direction of your bunk. You feel Echo's and Tech's eyes on you as well, but you just want to go back to sleep.
"I think I just ate too fast. Don't worry about it," you mumble tiredly as you resume your slumber.
Echo, Tech, and Hunter all look at your sleeping form but decided that perhaps it's best you get some rest.
The peace continues for around half an hour. You wake up again, hurriedly walking to the bathroom. You don't even notice the worried glance Tech gives, or even the fresher door that you left open before throwing up in the toilet again.
You groan, slumping on the fresher floor.
Someone pulls you up gently by your arm.
"It's alright, I got you," you hear Hunter say as you see Tech flushing the toilet.
You sigh as he brings you back to your bunk, laying you down on it.
"Sorry, Hunter. Did I wake you?" You ask.
He just chuckles. "Yeah, but don't worry. How're you feeling?"
You slump back on my pillows. "Tired."
Just then, Tech suddenly appears, typing away at his datapad. He looks at you before talking.
"It seems that the contents that you expelled included acid, aside from the food you ate for dinner," he then looks at Hunter, "you said you could hear her stomach?"
"Yeah, it sounded like something was bubbling upwards."
Tech nods, seemingly satisfied. "Figured as much," comes his robotic-like voice. He looks at you again, with one eyebrow raised. "I had a theory, so I looked for your medical files from the GAR. You have gastroesopheagal reflux disease. It is most likely that the noodles that we ate triggered it."
"Yeah, kinda figured that out after I threw up the first time," you mumble. You bring the blankets up to your chin, wishing that you could disappear from their scrutinizing gaze.
"I've also checked our medpacks—we do not have any antacid at hand. We'd have to wait till we arrive at Ord Mantell to restock."
Hunter frowns. "Do you need anything?" He asks you.
Your gaze lingers a bit longer on him than you would've liked. His eyebrow are arched upwards, causing lines to appear on his forehead. While crouched, you could still tell that his torso is slightly leaning forwards towards you. He keeps one hand on your bunk, too. For a brief moment, you see a man with a GAR-standard haircut, a cybernetic eye, a scar over it, and white and grey armor. But it's as if your vision shifts, and you see the man with long hair, face tattoo, a red bandana, and colorful armor.
"No, nothing. I'm fine," you reply dryly.
"No, you are not," Tech bluntly points out.
"I'll sleep it off," you mumble, rolling over to your side as your eyes begin to droop once again from exhaustion.
Hunter and Tech both sigh as you quite literally turn your backs on them. At this point, they're quite used to you being closed off, but this is the first time they've seen how you're like when your sick. You're more distant than you usually are.
After some time you feel the familiar pinch in your stomach and your labored breathing. The acid quickly rises in you, and it feels as if it were knawing through its pathway.
You quickly turn to the other side of your bunk in hopes to reach the fresher again. Instead, your eyes meet a metal bucket beside your bunk. Unable to hold everything in, you expel the acid in the bucket.
You cry out in pain; the muscles of your abdoment working overtime to push the acid out of you. Your hair drapes around your face as you throw up, getting in the way of the vomit that not only comes out of your mouth, but also some through the nose.
You vaguely feel a hand gathering your hair and holding it away from your face, and another hand gently rubbing your back.
"Hey, it's okay. I got you," it says soothingly.
Warm tears stream down from your eyes, to your cheeks, and pour down to the bucket.
You lie back down, breathing heavily. The bitter-sour aftertaste of the acid makes you cringe. Your eyelids flutter heavily, and you drift in and out of sleep. You don't even notice that Hunter disappeared until you hear the fresher door open and the bucket being settled down beside your bunk again.
"I could've done that myself," You mutter tiredly.
Hunter crosses his arms over his chest, a big frown on his face. "No, you need to rest. Let me help you."
"It's my problem. I'm the one who's sick."
"Uh-huh," Hunter grunts, looking very unimpressed. "C'mon, ad'ika. Let me help."
Ad'ika.
As he says that, you could hear Wolffe's voice. Your eyes dart around the room, trying to find him. But the only other person you see is a concerned Hunter looking down at you.
Logically, you knew you needed someone to help you with the bucket, and other things that may come up. Your heart clenches at how you wished it was Wolffe, or Boost, or Sinker, or Comet, or Master Plo. But deep inside you, you know that if you try to do this all by yourself, you may end up vomiting on the floor or elsewhere where you shouldn't be. You wouldn't want that.
"Fine," you concede. Your voice no longer holding the fight it had previously.
Hunter flashes you a faint smile as he leaves. Your head lolls on the pillow as your eyelids close on their own and your mind becomes blank.
You wake up once again to someone tapping your shoulder. In your hazy vision, you see Hunter holding out a bottle of water to you. Sitting up, you take it gratefully, taking a few sips. You hand it back to him before resuming your slumber.
And so under the lights of hyperspace, the cycle continued until you reached Ord Mantell. Every thirty minutes or so, Hunter would wake up after you throw up in the bucket; he would flush it before returning it to you clean. Occassionally, he would refill the bottle with water, as well.
In your delurious state, sometimes you would see Wolffe instead of Hunter moving about. And it would seep into your dreams, too. You would see the blur of grey and white armor of the Wolfpack instead of the colorful armor of the Batch. You would hear Wolffe's voice—gruff and strict—telling you to take it easy.
But as the hours tick by, you no longer see or hear anyone from the Wolfpack, whether it be in your dreams or reality. You don't see the grey and white. Instead, you see flashes of color; you see flashes of grey mixed with yellow, red, cyan, and orange. You don't hear Wolffe's strict voice, Boost and Sinker's jokes, or Master Plo's comforting advice. You hear Hunter's gruff but caring remarks, Wrecker's booming laughter, Echo's gentle reminders, Tech's steady comments, and Omega's soft greetings.
And as you arrive at Ord Mantell, you accept their assistance without protest as you disembark from the Marauder. You know that Master Plo and the 104th would always have a place in your heart, but you know now that there's room for five more colorful people.

Jealousy and Principles (Obi-Wan x reader)
Pairings: Obi-Wan x GenderNeutral!Reader Warnings/Tags: Jealousy, light swearing, dispute Summary: The reader is a former Jedi who's left the order many years ago! You and Obi-Wan are on a mission to obtain information from a high-ranking Separatist. In a cantina, which according to rumors is supposed to be his retreat, you decide to use advantage of your flirty skills which awakes jealousy in Obi-Wan. Words: 1.4k A/n: This is my first Obi-Wan x reader one shot. English isn't my first language so I'm sorry for any possible grammar or spelling mistakes! But I hope you enjoy it and let me know if you're interested in a part two!
~~~~~~~~~~
Thick, hot air hit you as you and Obi-Wan entered the cantina. The noise of loud voices talking over one another, laughing, and loudly clinking drinks was a stark contrast to the quiet outside on the near-empty streets of the small town on the Outer Rim planet you visited. You and Obi-Wan had a mission to complete, as there were rumors that this cantina was the home retreat of a high-ranking Separatist who was hiding information useful to the Republic.
“I think we should order a drink,” you said as you and Obi-Wan sat down at a table in one of the corners of the room.
Obi-Wan's eyebrows furrowed critically. But before he could say anything, you continued. "To blend in with the other guests."
Obi-Wan nodded in understanding. He didn't seem too keen on the idea because he knew you were someone who was likely to take a look too deeply into the glass. But after all, you were undercover. Disguised in civilian clothing, you might look like ordinary citizens but anyone who sat in a cantina without drinking anything gave a questionable impression—at least to the staff.
You looked around and raised your hand as you made eye contact with one of the waiter droids. His cylindrical form rolled towards your table and made a loud beeping noise.
“Two of those blue drinks, please,” you ordered and the droid beeped again and then rolled away.
"That guy over there with the gray jacket and the beard. That must be him," Obi-Wan stated, pointing with his chin at a small group of humans and aliens chatting and enjoying their drinks.
You followed his nod and located the group he was talking about. Your eyes scanned every single face, not only to identify the target, but also to check out his companions. They seemed inconspicuous. Like normal civilians. It was the same disguise you and Obi-Wan wore. But since you and Obi-Wan had both saved an image of the Separatist on your data pads, you knew exactly that this man, sitting in a group like a normal person, was unmistakably the target you were looking for.
"He looks much more attractive in real life than in the photo," you said jokingly, your eyes not leaving your target's frame. Tob be honest, he was surprisingly handsome. What a shame he was one of the bad guys, you thought.
By staring at the strange man, you didn't notice Obi-Wan grimacing. "I don't think that-" he started, but was interrupted by the arrival of the beeping waiter droid that brought your drinks.
“Thank you,” you smiled at the little droid as you took your drinks from his tray. They were way bigger than expected. Not as usual as in a small glass, but more like a whole cocktail. With a shallow smile on your lips, you toasted Obi-Wan and took the first sip. Your throat immediately burned as the strong liquid ran down your esophagus and you immediately felt even warmer than you already were in the hot canteen. Then your gaze slid back to the separatist and his handsome face. And that's exactly what gave you an idea. "I know how we can get information out if him," you stated.
Obi-Wan took his glass to his mouth as he listened.
“I’m going to seduce him,” you explained.
Obi-Wan paused his sip, on the verge of choking. “Excuse me?” he asked incredulously, feeling his heart beat going faster.
"You heard me right. If there's one thing that can influence a man, it's a charismatic, stupidly-faithful Y/G."
Obi-Wan, far from enthusiastic about the idea, didn't respond. The tension in him was obvious, but you didn't notice. You were far too convinced that your plan would be successful.
"Y/N-," Obi-Wan began, but by then you were already standing up, pushing the empty chair to the table and walking over to the Separatist.
Obi-Wan sighed. Clutching his drink tightly, he took a sip and watched you on the way to that man. He couldn't quite explain what he was feeling as he observed from a distance as you sat down next to the target and engaged in a flirtatious conversation. He struggled to reconcile the mission's necessity with the unsettling feeling that gnawed at his core. All of this felt so wrong to him. In many ways. Of course he was aware of the fact that you weren't a Jedi and haven't been for many years. So the rules of the order didn't apply to you. But the uncharted territory of your alliance collided with the principles deeply ingrained in his Jedi upbringing and his jaw tightened.
The melody of your hauntingly enchanting voice reached Obi-Wan's ears. He wasn't able to understand a single word you said from his distance so his mind made up it's own conversation between you and the separatist that was both exaggerated and also not very unlikely to happen. After all, Obi-Wan knew who you were and what you were capable of.
His chest hurt in a way it never hurt before as a feeling of jealousy covered his senses. Shocked by his own thought he took nother sip from his drink, his hand trembling as he reached for the glass. He wasn't jealous. He couldn't be. His inner conflict definitely had to have something to do with his Jedi principles and your inappropriate behavior.
Obi-Wan watched you lean far towards the target. A seductive smile on your face underlined the shimmer of excitement in your eyes. You seemed to be truly interested in the separatist's narration, in a way that exceeded the whole idea of the mission and your attempt to seduce information out of him. And the Jedi fcking hated it.
It felt like the whole night has passed when you finally stood up from your seat next to the separatist and strolled back to Obi-Wan.
"I was successful," you said with a slight smile on your face, your cheeks still red from the flirty conversation.
Obi-Wan, who still suffered from the echo of that awful wrenching feeling in his guts, didn't give any attention to what you just said. Instead he took a deep breath and shot his blue eyes to yours. "Was that really necessary?" he asked with a bitter tone underlining his voice.
"What do you mean?" you replied confused not understanding what was wrong with your success.
Obi-Wan stared at you with a cold expression and a feeling of discomfort and concern awoke deep inside your chest. "The flirting."
You blinked twice as you stated at him with confusion and before you were able to open your mouth Obi-Wan continued his examination. "This was not the Jedi way. You just broke the code in one of the most inappropriate ways possible and went against the most important of my Jedi principles."
The moment his words entered your brain the feeling of concern turned into anger. "Are you kidding me?" you replied harshly. "I just degraded myself by flirting with one of our biggest enemies and you're sitting here being displeased by my practices instead of being satisfied with the outcome? I'm not a Jedi, Obi-Wan!"
"But you've been a Jedi before," Obi-Wan stated.
You took s sharp breath, furious because of his absolutely dim-witted stubbornness. "And?What's the point of your arguments? I've left the order years ago and you, out of everyone, should know best that I don't give a damn shit about neither the code nor the Jedi principles!"
"And that's exactly the problem!" Obi-Wan replied, his voice becoming louder. You saw a flash of anger in his eyes and felt even more offended by his audacity to criticize you for breaking a code you don't follow while he, in the exact same minute, did the same by letting himself be guided by his emotions.
You took a deep breath before calming your voice to a level that reflected both your weariness towards this conversation and your feeling of disappointment because of the ungratefulness the Jedi confronted you with. "You knew exactly what I am when we started our alliance."
With those words you left the cantina ans entered the darkness of a starless night. You felt like even talking to a wall would have a more productive outcome than this conversation. Obi-Wan was supposed to be a good friend of yours but right now your efforts don't seem to be appreciated. And it also doesn't seem like he truly accepts you for who you are.
Love me again
Ezra Bridger x fem!Jedi!reader
Word count:2.1k
Warnings: !SPOILERS! for Ahsoka Ep. 6, minor injuries, canon typical violence, you can maybe notice that I was a bit pissed at Sabine-
Summary:After being knocked out by Baylan Skoll, you regain your senses on his ship as a prisoner on your way to find Ezra
and Thrawn
Part I (you are here), Part II
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Ezra
please, don®t go”
“We will see each other again, I promise.”
“Ezra
”
“I love you, Y/N”
Your head was pounding, as you slowly came back to your senses. Memories of conversations long ago haunting your dreams and making you want to wake up again.
“Ezra
”, you mumbled, as your eyes slowly opened, the world before you still blurry.
“Easy there, you hit your head pretty hard”
As you finally managed to gain your full consciousness again, you realized that the person in front of you, very much wasnÂŽt Ezra. It was Sabine. You looked at her with confusion written all over your face, as you slowly sat up.
“Sabine? Where are we?”, you mumbled, taking in your surroundings. It looked like you were in a small prison cell. Only a bench adorned the dimly lit room. Taking another look at Sabine, only confirmed your suspicion.
“We were captured.”, Sabine finally said, after a few moments of silence, “By Baylan. We are currently on the way to the place where Ezra is.”
“And Thrawn.”, you mumbled to yourself, as bits and pieces of what had happened on Arcana came back to you
Fear filled your eyes, as you arrived at the battleground. Ahsoka was fiercely fighting Baylan Skoll, trying to obtain the map.
“Ahsoka!”, you yelled, as you grabbed your own lightsaber, joining in to the battle.
Just in time, you jumped forward, preventing Ahsoka from being cut in half and pushing Baylan back a few inches.
“Get the map!”, Ahsoka instructed and you nodded at her, ready to sprint towards the small orb, but before you could reach it, a blazing red blade appeared right in front of you, blocking your path.
“Not so fast”, Baylan mumbled, preparing to strike, but you managed to block him beforehand. Your lightsabers colliding in an explosion of colors, as your green blade pushed against his red one. And those few moments were already enough for Ahsoka to lunge forward and grab the map. A scream of pain left her lips, as the glowing orb burned her skin and she dropped it to the floor.
Momentarily distracted by your companions' actions, Baylan managed to push you back. You only had seconds to react, but you were too slow. You felt the burning pain in your hand, as Bayllan hit you with his lightsaber, causing you to drop your own. You looked up at him, thinking that he would kill you right then and there. But instead of impaling you, he used the force to send you flying against one of the gigantic stone pillars, knocking you unconscious almost immediately.
You heard Ahsoka yell your name, but what happened afterwards was not known to you.
“Where is Ahsoka?”, you finally asked, after a few minutes of thinking. Sabine looked at you with sorrow in her eyes:”She
She was fighting Baylan, when I arrived, but he knocked her over the edge of the cliff. I don®t know if she's alive or not.”
“And then what?!”, you pressed, trying not to think about the possibility of Ahsoka being dead,”Did you just give them the map and left her behind?”
“I had no choice!”; she tried to defend herself, walking up and down the small room, even if that were only a few steps.
“I thought she was dead! You were laying there, also possibly dead. I was alone and this was the only way to ever see Ezra again!”, she explained, finally looking at you, still sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall.
“Sabine
”, you began, taking a slow breath in,”Believe me, out of all people that you know, I am probably the only one who understands how much you want to see Ezra again, but preventing Thrawn from returning to our galaxy is more important. We can®t let him start another war. That's not what Ezra wanted. He made this sacrifice, so that Thrawn would forever be exiled and now, we have to make sure, it stays that way.”
Before Sabine could say anything, the door to your prison cell opened and two Storm Troopers entered.
“Time to get up!”, one of them said sternly, as he grabbed your arm, harshly pulling you to your feet, while the other grabbed Sabine.
It took you a few seconds to gain your footing, the blunt force that had caused your knockout on Arcana still affecting you. As the Trooper realized you were struggling to stand, he pushed you forward, causing you to stumble to the ground again.
“Get going already!”, he yelled, as you slowly stood up again.
“Hey, she's injured!”Sabine yelled, but the Troopers ignored her. As you were finally standing on your feet again, the Trooper grabbed your arm again and they both started escorting you and Sabine out of the prison cell.
After a few minutes of walking in silence, you finally reached your destination. You couldn`t believe your eyes, as you took in what was in front of you.
Grand Admiral Thrawn himself was standing there, waiting for you and Sabine. He looked exactly like you remembered him. His red eyes bored into your skull, as he looked you both up and down.
“Sabine Wren”, he said, as you came to a halt in front of him,”And Y/N L/N”
“Thrawn
”, Sabine said quietly, looking at him with the same disgust in her eyes, as he held for her.
“What a delight it is after so long to see familiar faces.”, Thrawn continued, not one ounce of emotion in his voice,”I understand it is you I have to thank for my escape from exile.”
“Where is Ezra?”, you finally spoke, ignoring his question entirely.
“Ah yes.”, he smiled, looking down at you,”The desire to be reunited with your long lost Lover
”, he briefly turned around to Sabine,”...and Friend.”
He paused, looking to the ground for a second:”How that singular focus will reshape our galaxy.”
“Just answer the question.”,Sabine interrupted him, anger lacing her voice.
“No need for hostility.”, Thrawn smiled, as calm as someone who was about to start a new war, had ever talked.
“I®m aware of your agreement with Baylan Skoll, and I intend to honor it.”, Thrawn continued to explain as he turned away from you. You eyed Sabine from the side, as she had never told you about any agreement.
You watched how a Storm Trooper with a patchwork armor of white and gold walked over to you, taking off your cuffs.
“You shall have provisions, a mount, and our latest intel on Bridger®s whereabouts.”,Thrawn revealed.
You furrowed your brows in confusion:”So, that's it? You®re just gonna let us walk out of here?”
“You two helped my cause. Now I shall help you.”, Thrawn explained with a little bow of his head,”You should know, though, that once my starship departs, you®ll be stranded here forever. It's also quite possible that your friend
is dead.”
You shook your head, a sarcastic grin lacing your features. You knew that he had to be up to something. He would never just let you walk out of there.
“If you survived, I'm sure he's doing just fine.”, Sabine suddenly said, her voice sounding like venom.
Thrawn seemed to be agitated by her statement and stepped towards her concerningly slowly:”You have gambled the fate of your galaxy on that belief.”
“You wouldn't understand.”, Sabine countered, staring up at Thrawn with nothing but hate in her eyes.
Even though you knew what she meant, you couldn't help but agree with Thrawn. You had to find Ezra now or else, everything would be lost. You needed to turn this battle to your favor or the galaxy would fall into darkness.
After a few seconds of silence, Thrawn looked over to you, inspecting your face for any signs of disagreement, but you didn't let him see your concerns, so he finally looked back at Sabine:”Perhaps not.”
“We'd rather not waste anymore time.”, you interrupted their little conversation,”What kind of ride you got around here?”
After being given back your belongings, you were escorted to your ride. Much to your and SabineŽs dismay, it wasn't a speeder, but a domesticated creature called Howler. It apparently went by the name Tota.
You looked at the creature for a few seconds before stepping forward and petting itÂŽs snout. Tota happily licked your hand in response.
“You're injured. You ride.”, Sabine said, patting your shoulder, leaving no room for protest. You only nodded and mounted the Howler, as Sabine grabbed the leash.
“Be warned”, One of the Troopers instructed,”Nomads wander this wasteland and prey upon each other for survival. Here are your weapons.”
He first handed Sabine her two blasters and then her lightsaber, before walking over to you. The man pulled out your lightsaber and you were relieved to see that it was still intact.
He stepped back, ready for your departure:”Die well.”
You eyed him for a second before turning around, as the door in front of you opened. Sabine led the Howler outside and the doors closed behind you. Now, you were on your own.
Tumblr media
To say that your ride through this wasteland was eventful, would be an understatement. You were out for maybe an hour or two, as you were attacked by those nomads the Trooper had warned you about. Much to your dismay, Tota jumped in panic and threw you off before running away.
Luckily, You and Sabine had managed to defeat the attackers, before  anything worse could happen. It also didn't take you long to find the Howler again. Sabine was heavily against taking him with you again, but after a bit of convincing, she accepted him and you continued your journey.
Which led you to where you were right now. Following a small creature you had encountered, hoping they would lead you to Ezra, even though you didn't understand a word they said.
You had grabbed TotaÂŽs leash firmly, to keep them away from the small creatures.
“It's alright, Tota.”, you mumbled, staying back a bit to calm the Howler down. You smiled as one of the people gave you an unknown fruit. You took it, thanking them before trying to feed Tota with it. They smelled it first, before finally taking a bite, judging that it was tasty.
Your eyes widened as you were led to a village. You saw lots of small tents, at least a hundred people running around doing Maker knows what, but most of them were looking at you curiously, as you entered their home.
“I knew I could count on you.”
Your Head shot up as you heard his voice. A few meters in front of You, Sabine turned towards a small hut, presumingly staring at a Person you couldn't see from where you were standing. You watched how a smile unfolded on SabineÂŽs face before she stepped forward.
And so did Ezra.
You only took in his form as they started conversing. He was much taller now, his long hair hanging around his face, that was adorned by a beard. You watched how the two of them hugged each other,  you finally decided to step away from Tota and closer to them.
“Ezra?”, You said quietly, your voice trembling, as his eyes finally landed on your form. The smile on his face dropped, as seriousness that you never seen on him before, took over.
“Y/N.”, he mumbled and only seconds later, he ran towards you, engulfing you in his arms.
“It's really you!”, You exclaimed, tears in your eyes as you wrapped your arms around him. Ezra happily lifted off your feet, spinning you around.
“It's really me!”, he smiled, as he let you to the ground again. You looked up at the boy you loved. He had grown into a man. You smiled as your hand cupped his cheek. He immediately leaned into your touch, closing his eyes.
“Maker, I missed you so much.”, he mumbled, putting his hand on top of yours.
“I missed you too.”, You smiled and looked into his eyes. His appearance might have changed, but his eyes were still the ones you fell in love with.
“I'm gonna kiss you now”, Ezra muttered and you only nodded, before his lips collided with yours. And that's when you finally felt the relief of having him back again. His beard tickled against your skin, as he poured all his emotion into the kiss and you felt connected to him even through the force.
You were gasping for air, as you finally parted again. A soft smile now adorned EzraÂŽs face and he leaned forward to give you another kiss on the forehead.
“I love you, Y/N”, he said firmly. And this time, you got to reply to him. Finally, after all this time.
“I love you too, Ezra.”
Crosshair-dresser
Words count: 1.8k
Warnings: some angst I guess, fluff
To say Hunter was concerned was an understatement.
He hated it.
He hated watching his little brother sit in the house or on the porch all day without saying a single word. He knew Crosshair was still getting used to it, to being comfortable and safe somewhere, really, he did. But Hunter couldn't stop worrying about the things that could be going on in his brother's head.
It had been a few weeks since they had rescued Cross, Omega, and Tech from the hands of the Imperial scientists. He knew both Tech and Omega couldn't sleep well from the nightmares. The young girl often ended up sneaking into one of their beds during the night and clinging to them like her life depended on it.
None of them minded, of course. They all loved their little sister and would do anything to ensure she was okay. It still concerned them to a great amount.
Tech—who hadn't slept much before—definitely wasn't getting sleep now. Hunter knew he spent most of the night tinkering on odd projects or doing research on Maker-knows what. Hunter had to call Phee over several times to convince Tech to go to sleep.
Though these were both concerning, what most worried Hunter was Crosshair. He didn't seem to have any sort of mental or emotional reaction to it. Sure, he struggled with eating and moving around too much, but that was more physical. They all tried to get him to talk but he never did. A few times, they tried to get Crosshair to see a therapist, but he turned down the idea straight away and avoided everyone if they tried to take him anyway.
The sniper stayed in the house mostly, cooped up in his room like a hermit. The only time he went outside was if Omega dragged him along somewhere or if his brothers forced him to go to the doctors. He did like having occasional night walks outside. No one was ever out that late, it was peaceful. No one to bother him or fuss over him.
Crosshair huffed as he and Hunter walked inside their home. They had just gotten back from his weekly checkups. He hadn't spoken one word on the walk to the house, preferring to just not talking about it.
His 'physical therapist' had suggested he do something familiar, get back into routines. He knew Hunter was going to suggest sniping again. After all, that's who Crosshair was; a sniper. However, he no longer had his beloved rifle. His strength had deteriorated, he had actually attempted to shoot a target several times, each time missing horribly due to his lack of muscle.
So he remained quiet, choosing to avoid the subject and just get home to his room, where he could shut everyone out.
As he walked down the hall towards his cave, he heard sniffling coming from a certain blonde's room. Stopping dead in his tracks, Crosshair knocked on Omega's door softly, not waiting for an answer as he opened it and moved inside.
Over their time in Mount Tantiss, Crosshair and Omega had grown closer. He truly considered her his sister, and—he would never admit it—but he loved her dearly. He knew she struggled with the memories of that awful place, he did too, and it only troubled him more to hear the usually happy girl crying.
"What's the matter, kid?" He asked softly, noting Wrecker sitting beside the crying girl on her bed.
"Went to get her a haircut and she freaked out." The large clone explained, sighing softly as he looked up at Crosshair.
"A barber? With scissors and other equipment?" Crosshair asked, brow raising. He slowly moved closer to the two, looking down at Omega who was curled up under her multicolored blankets.
"I...I didn't think it would remind her of it." Wrecker mumbled, looking down as he realized he had unintentionally brought up some bad memories for his sister.
Crosshair sighed softly, nodding to Wrecker. "Go. I got it." He said, giving his brother a ghost of a smile.
Wrecker looked at Crosshair for a few moments before letting out a breath and standing up. He nodded to Crosshair before moving out of Omega's room, closing the door behind him.
Crosshair watched him wordlessly, sitting down beside Omega once they were alone. "Scared you, didn't it?" He asked quietly, putting a hand on where he guessed her shoulder was.
Omega nodded slightly, still sniffling under the blankets. Crosshair sighed, looking down at the girl's figure. "You're not back there, 'Meg. You're safe. We're safe."
Omega slowly peaked her head out from the blankets, puffy eyes looking up at the marksman. "I know." She mumbled, leaning into Crosshair's touch when his hand came up to gently wipe at her eyes. "S-still scared me."
Crosshair nodded, eyes soft as he looked at Omega. "I get it." He said, nodding softly. "Don't like people touching me with tools either. Even barbers."
Omega nodded softly, sniffling as she moved to lean into Crosshair's side. The sniper slowly wrapped an arm around her, humming softly. "I know what could cheer you up." He said, knowing Omega wouldn't want to talk further.
"What?" Omega asked, brows furrowed slightly as her head tipped back to look up at him. Crosshair smiled a little as he looked at her, showing her his free hand. "The black polish is coming off. Think I need a touch-up."
Omega looked down at his hand, grabbing his fingers carefully and examining them, ignoring how he had been picking at his skin again.
"I ran out of black, so only pink and purple are left." She said, frowning softly.
Crosshair chuckled softly, letting her take his hand. "Pink and purple are fine."
.  . ‱ ☆ . ° .‱ °:. *₊ ° . ☆
Crosshair and Omega sat on the floor of her room, paper-towels, nail polish remover bottles, and nail polish scattered around them. Crosshair sat crisscrossed as he leaned against her bed, watching Omega with a small smile as she painted his nails. She was currently working on his right hand, his left propped up so it got the flow of air from the mini fan Omega had.
She had also gotten a bowl full of candy, eating some pieces every few minutes before returning to the task at hand.
Crosshair watched on patiently, commenting occasionally on the color or whether or not she should add another coat. He had noticed her hidden annoyance though; scratching at her hair frequently, huffing every time she hand to brush hair away from her face. He understood why Wrecker had attempted to get her a haircut. Her hair certainly had grown, reaching nearly past her shoulders.
An idea popped in his head at that, Crosshair tilting his head. He could trim her hair. He knew how to, of course. His brothers always had him trim their hair since he could do it extremely well. Omega trusted him too so there was a less likely chance she'd freak out.
"'Meg?"
Omega hummed softly in response, not looking up from Crosshair's nails as she applied polish.
"I can do your hair."
Hunter paced back in forth in the living room, running his hands through his hair. Crosshair and Omega had been in there for a while. He didn't hear any crying, but at the same time, that's not always a good thing.
"Cross said he could handle it." Wrecker mumbled, watching Hunter from where he sat on the couch.
"I know, Wrecker. I'm just worried. He seemed off today." Hunter said, letting out a sigh.
"He's always weird after the doctor." Wrecker said, shrugging softly. Hunter shook his head, running his hand over his face with a tired groan.
"Hunter, come look at this..." Echo called softly from the hall, peeking into Omega's room.
Hunter's brows furrowed, the sergeant moving over towards the girl's room. He looked inside hesitantly, his expression softening at the sight.
Omega was seated in front of the small vanity, a bright and curious smile back on her face. Crosshair sat behind her, a pair of bright pink scissors in one hand as he snipped at the girl's hair, a content smile on his face as he spoke. "-ou want it braided after? I can probably figure something out."
Omega hummed softly in response, not wanting to nod in case she messed him up. She was nervous at first when he suggested cutting her hair, not aware that he was skilled in the matter. The scissors part scared her at first as well, however she knew it was her brother and she could trust him not to harm her.
"You can braid?" She asked curiously, watching his movements in the mirror.
Crosshair nodded slightly, his tongue sticking out a little as he concentrated on cutting her hair evenly. "Yeah. Hunter seen it once so I had Tech search up how to." He replied, lightly brushing his fingers through her hair. "I know several braids."
"That's really cool!" Omega smiled brightly, leaning into his touch. "Can you do whichever one is the prettiest?" She asked, smiling more when Crosshair nodded.
Hunter allowed Crosshair to finish at least cutting her hair, not wanting to mess him up or distract him. He stood behind Crosshair as he watched him braiding Omega's hair, noticing the smile on the sniper's face. All previous worried about these two had disappeared, the sergeant relaxing slightly at the sight of his siblings happy. "Still got it, I see."
Crosshair glanced up to meet Hunter's eyes in the mirror for a quick moment before focusing back on his sister's hair. He nodded slightly, letting out a hum.
"You have time for another client?" Hunter asked, chuckling softly. He knew his hair was getting longer, he'd need to get a trim soon anyways.
"Sure, 100 credits." Crosshair quipped, smirking softly.
Hunter chuckled, shaking his head in amusement. "Never had to pay before." He pointed out, smiling softly as he noticed his brother's attitude shining through.
"Hm, fine. More toothpicks then." Crosshair bargained, tapping Omega's shoulder lightly. The girl handed him a hair tie, her smile brightened as she realized she would see his work.
"Deal." Hunter said, watching Crosshair tie off the braid and gently move it over Omega's shoulder.
"One more condition though."
Hunter raised his brow, noticing the way Crosshair sent a smirk to Omega through the mirror. "Go on..."
Crosshair hummed softly, unwrapping the towel from around Omega's shoulders so she could get up. "You get a trim and a manicure." He said, holding out his painted nails towards the sergeant.
Hunter sent a light glare to Crosshair, sighing softly. He noticed Omega's giddy laugh, the girl grabbing her nail polish already. "Fine. Nothing too bright though."
"All she's got is purple and pink." Crosshair chuckled, gesturing for Hunter to sit down on the tiny chair. "Hot pink."
Hunter grimaced lightly, holding his hands out towards Omega as she sat on the floor beside him. "Great."
Nothing Wrong With Emotions
Platonic!Anakin Skywalker x Reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist - Join My Taglist!
Written for Fictober 2024! Requested by Anon! Hope you like it, Nonnie, and thanks for being patient through the delay!
Fandom: Star Wars
Day Twenty-Six Prompt: "You were the first."
Summary: Anakin's at the beginning of the worst two days of his life. Thankfully, his best friend is there when he needs them, and they're more emotionally intelligent than some of the other Jedi.
Word Count: 4,903
Category: Angst, Fluff
Putting work into an AI program without permission is illegal. You do not have my permission. Do not do it.
My mind whirled as I marched through the halls of the Jedi temple, the length of my to-do list rapidly creeping towards overwhelming. This war had been going on for far too long, and even worse, there'd been a growing disturbance in the Force that had been nagging at the back of my mind for days. I kept glancing outside, expecting to see dark storm clouds through the windows to reflect the storm I felt coming with every fiber of my being, but the bright blue sky was unobstructed.
Something was wrong. I knew it, and so did the entire Jedi Council and then some. But none of us could quite figure out what.
Until anything more concrete could be figured out, we all still had mountains of work to accomplish. I needed to visit Jocasta in the Archives, check out five different books, bring a few to the Creche, meet with Master Windu-
My mind and body came to an abrupt halt in the middle of the hallway like I'd physically run into a wall. My to-do list, the lurking low-level disturbance in the Force, and just about everything else in my mind had just been shoved violently to the side by the feelings being put out by my best friend, who was apparently just down the hall from me.
Anakin Skywalker and I had met when he became a Padawan. We'd crossed paths regularly enough and spent enough time together that we'd bonded quickly, and now, he was probably my closest friend in all the worlds. As a result, I could usually read and feel him through the Force better than anyone else. But with the knot of negative emotions he was putting out right now, I was betting a Jedi in the Outer Rim would be able to notice.
I frowned, dropping my data pad on the nearest table and turning to go after Anakin. I had no idea what could've caused the hornet's nest of energy my best friend was putting out, but there was no way I was going to go about my day and ignore it.
I had to jog a little to catch up to him, since he was walking away from me. I caught him at the end of one of the Temple's hallways, seemingly headed for the hanger. I grabbed his elbow before he could round the corner, and he whirled on me with such a fierce scowl that, had it been anybody else, I would've flinched.
"Ani? What's wrong?"
Anakin practically growled, his shoulders up by his ears and his jaw clenched. Still, he had the gaull to say, "Nothing."
I scoffed. "My friend, I've never seen a more obvious lie in my life. I know you much better than that, although you apparently don't think so."
That negative air around Anakin instensified. He was clearly hanging on by a thread. I glanced around the hallway, and although no one else was around, I knew from first-hand experience that the Jedi Temple wasn't always the best place to process strong emotions.
"Alright, how about we go somewhere else?" I suggested, gently taking Anakin's arm again. He kept his glare trained on me, the swarming storm still clearly raging, but he didn't try to pull away from me either. Gently, slowly, I led Anakin away from the Temple, and thankfully, he followed.
"Where are we going?" Anakin barked, the first words he'd managed since his lie in the hallway. I glanced back at him with a smile.
"A place that's good for processing shit. Just trust me for a minute, okay?"
Anakin didn't respond, but he didn't make a move to leave, either, and the dark cloud centered on his chest didn't get any bigger. We climbed into my speeder, and after a short ride, parked at the top of one of the tallest buildings on the planet. The sun had just started to set, painting the sky in beautiful colors that didn't match the lurking darkness at all.
I hopped out, and when Anakin didn't immediately follow me, I motioned for him to do the same. After another moment's hesitation, he slowly climbed out of the passenger seat, glaring doubtfully around us.
"What is this place?" he asked. His tone had lost some of its gravel, which was a relief. I smiled and spread my arms wide, gesturing to the rooftop before us.
"This is paradise," I said. "A smaller, separate loction to the Coruscant Gardens. I made friends with the gardeners here a while ago, and they agreed to let me come up here and hang out whenever I wanted, as long as I don't hurt the plants. It's become my favorite place to be when I need... space. From the rest of the Jedi, to process things, from the war and the senate and whatever else... for anything, really."
"What do you mean, when you need space from the rest of the Jedi?"
I turned back to Anakin with a raised eyebrow. The set of his shoulders alone told me he knew exactly what I meant by "space from the Jedi", but they also told me he might not be in the mood to be teased about it.
"Well... you know, sometimes the Council and everybody can get a little... stuffy. And they taught me a lot of great techniques for managing my emotions, but meditation takes a lot of fucking practice and doesn't always work for me, especially in the middle of a storm. So, I've found other strategies for when the regular Jedi ones don't work. And from the energy you're putting out into the world right now, I thought you could use something like that."
Anakin frowned, but he took a few steps closer to me, away from the speeder. I gave him a tentative smile.
"Are you saying meditation doesn't work for you? That... that what the masters have taught us doesn't work for you?"
I shrugged. "A lot of the time, it does. More and more the more I practice. But sometimes, no, Ani, it doesn't work for me. The feelings are too strong or get too built up, and I need another way to bleed off steam before the kettle boils over, so to speak. Like this!"
I turned from Anakin and raised my hand, using the Force to start the program I'd put together up here years ago. To the side of the garden, in the empty parking space next to my speeder, a plate shot up and into the air. I used my blaster to shoot it before it could come back down, and I grinned as the thing shattered to pieces. Then, I turned back to Anakin with a smile.
"It's more satisfying to smash the plates by hand, but I can't do that from a distance, and I wanted to show off."
Anakin just stared at me for a long moment. To my relief, his surprise and confusion seemed to be taking over some of the space his anger had been occupying before.
"Are you really telling me that when you're angry... you come up here and smash plates?"
"When I get angry enough, yeah. It's not a fix, though, it's just a pressure vent. When I really feel like I'm going to lose it—like when I heard about what General Krell did, and all I wanted to do was go kill him in his cell—I come up here and let some of that rage vent off. Then, it's easier for me to use other, less destructive strategies to manage things. But Ani, I don't think I need to tell you, trying to mediate when you feel like your blood is boiling and every nerve in your body is screaming? It's... not the easiest thing to do."
"No," he said, voice grim and the scowl back on his face. "No, it isn't."
"So then let's smash some plates! Come on, I promise it'll help. And then maybe you can tell me a little bit about what's wrong. Talking usually does wonders for strong emotions, too."
Anakin looked dubious, but we'd been through so much together that he trusted me enough to try.
Anakin moved into the space I'd specfically designed as a sort of protected area for plate-smashing, picking up the first thing he saw. He held it up, but paused briefly and turned back to me. The rage swirled around so strongly, I swear it almost manifested physically around him.
"And you won't tell the Council about this?"
I snorted. "No! Fuck the Council! Smash some plates!"
Anakin huffed, then didn't wait another second to do as I said. He moved like lightning, grabbing one plate and then another, hurling each one into the ground. He kept going, getting more and more worked up, the anger rising up and around him as he let it all out. He became more and more frenzied, then slammed one last plate into the ground so hard that parts of it became dust, before letting out a long, loud scream.
I just watched him, being careful not to let my emotions bleed out through the Force too much. Watching my best friend clearly in so much pain was tearing me up, but I knew Anakin would hate the pity, so I needed to move past it for both our sakes.
Finally, as the scream died out with the last of Anakin's air on that breath, he slumped forward, breathing hard. Still, his shoulders were lower than his ears for the first time since I'd found him in the hallway, and that roaring wave of anger had quieted a little, being joined with frustration and sadness.
I gave him a second, then slowly approached when I was sure he wasn't going to reach for another plate. I put a hand gently on his shoulder, and when he turned to face me, I found him with tears streaming down his face and the same fierce scowl he'd had earlier.
"Anakin," I said, trying to strike the right balance of calm and firm. "Talk to me."
"I can't," he ground out. "I can't talk to you!"
"Why? I swear, everything stays between us. But the plates are just the first part, Ani. The second part is talking things out and finding a way to move forward-"
"No!" He'd been shaking his head for most of my speech, but he broke in when he couldn't take it anymore. "There are things you don't know, that I can't tell you!"
I studied his face, trying to figure out what exactly he might be referring to. I had a couple of theories, but Anakin still didn't seem to be in a good place to respond to theories, so I decided to take a different approach.
"Okay... is there any part of what's bothering you that you can talk to me about? Even something smaller, that's been part of the buildup? Or you could just tell me about the feelings without talking about the cause."
Anakin took a few deep breaths, clenching his jaw as he took heavy breaths in and out. He looked to be at war with himself, so I just concentrated on putting out calm, non-judgemental energy and hoped for the best.
Slowly, Anakin straightened. I let my hand drop back to my side, but I didn't take a step back. A lot of the manic energy had disappated from Anakin, but none of the emotions had yet.
"Master Windu doesn't trust me. I- I found the Sith Lord."
"What?" I cried, leaning forward and grabbing Anakin's forearm. "Anakin, are you serious?"
"It's Chancellor Palpatine."
I just blinked at him for a few moments, trying to take that information in. Then it was my turn for some fear and negative emotions to take root in my chest.
"Shit. Are you sure? Of course you're sure. Oh, this is the absolute worst-case scenario. Anakin, did you tell Windu? What did he say? If he's not going to do something, we-"
"He's going to confront the Chancellor with Masters Fisto, Tiin, and Kolar. I told him that the Chancellor is very powerful, and that they might need my help. I offered to go! But he refused to let me come. Told me to sit and wait for their return in the Council Chambers."
I frowned again, my mind racing a million miles an hour. I didn't let go of Anakin, and I could feel just how carefully he was watching me. Knowing that Windu and other Jedi had gone after the Chancellor was simultaneously scary and a relief, but in both cases, it meant he was currently someone else's problem. I could put that on the backburner to pay attention to my best friend, at least for now. I took a deep breath and shook my head.
"You think Windu told you to wait in the Council Chamber because... he doesn't trust you?"
"I know it. He told me himself I'd earn his trust only after he returned from confronting the Chancellor, only if I was correct."
I narrowed my eyes and huffed. "That's fucking ridiculous."
"You sound angry."
"I am angry. You've been here for a long time, Anakin, and you've done so much for the Order and for the galaxy as a whole. If Windu has a problem, he at least could've put it a little more diplomatically."
"I don't think I've ever seen you angry before."
The shock of that statement was enough to shake me out of my thought. I met Anakin's eyes with surprise.
"What? Yes you have."
"No, I haven't," he said, a bit of irritation in his voice. Thankfully, it was the kind I normally heard from him whenever we bickered, not the more serious kind. "Jedi don't get angry, just like you, and just like Obi-Wan, and just like every other damned Jedi but me!"
"Anakin... what? Of course Jedi get angry! Do you not remember me threatening to kill Kenobi when he threw out the Outer Rim delicacy I tracked down while we were out there because 'he thought it looked spoiled'? I literally almost punched him in the nose!"
"No, I don't remember that!"
"Kriffing hell! You must've been training or something with Ahsoka. Whatever. The point is, Anakin, everybody gets angry. Everybody humanoid, at least! It's emotion, which all of us have. Even Obi-Wan, who I'll admit, is remarkably good at not letting anything get to him."
Anakin just stared at me, looking absolutely thunderstruck, so I continued.
"We also, like you and everyone else, get sad and scared and exhausted and irritated. And happy and excited and impatient! It's normal to feel, Anakin. I'm sorry if somebody made you believe otherwise."
He started shaking his head, slowly and then much more quickly and frantic.
"No. No, that's not the Jedi way. The Jedi aren't supposed to feel, we aren't allowed to feel."
"If that were true every last one of us would've been kicked out years ago! Anakin, you can't control your feelings. You can control how you handle them, and that's what they're always trying to teach us at the Temple. But there's no amount of training or pratice or meditiation or whatever that can just magically make you not feel anger, ever again."
I saw Anakin's mind working as it processed what I'd just said. He seemed to accept it, at least, before I could feel his attention shift in the Force, and his fierce scowl returned.
"Even if you're right, no amount of 'handling' would help me."
"What are you talking about? Come on, Ani, I'm your best friend! If you can't tell me, who can you tell?"
"No one! I already told you, no one! I'm... I'm running out of time..." The sharp storm of anger changed abruptly into one of fear as Anakin's attention shifted away from me and back to the city. "We've been here too long. I need to go, now!"
He started taking off for the speeder, and it took my brain a few moments to catch up to his 180 degree shift. Once it did, I ran after him.
"Anakin, stop! Please, talk to me!"
I caught the edge of his robe and pulled it back. The moment I did, Anakin whirled on me, his expression a storm that threatened to bowl me flat. Still, I didn't flinch, and I didn't give up an inch.
"I can't be here! I'm running out of time! Padmé-"
He stopped abruptly and scowled even deeper, but the name was already out of his mouth.
"I knew this had something to do with her! Come on, Ani, talk to me. What's wrong? Is she okay? Is she mad at you? Is somebody coming after her again?"
"It's... It's none of your concern!"
Anakin whipped around again, pulling his robes out of my grip, but I called after him.
"If something's wrong with my good friend and my best friend's wife, then it's absolutely my concern!"
That got Anakin to stop dead in his tracks. He turned back around to me, his expression wild as the wind from up here blew his hair. I just stared back with a raised eyebrow.
"How do you know about that?" he demanded. I scoffed.
"Anakin, please! I'm your best friend, and the two of you are absolute shit at hiding it! I literally walked into the kitchen on one of the Cruisers and found you guys making out."
"When?" he demanded, sounding indignant.
"You'd know if you'd had an ounce of awareness! You were so busy making out with your wife that you literally didn't even notice I was there. I turned around and walked out because I did not want to see that for another second, and you clearly wanted to keep it a secret on some level. But this was months ago."
Anakin looked like I'd just shoved him over. I put a hand on my hip and raised an eyebrow, waiting for him to recover from his shock enough speak again. When he'd just about got there, I continued.
"Now seriously, Ani. If something's wrong with Padmé or your future child that you conveniently forgot to tell your best friend about, I want to know about it. I want to help you."
Anakin blinked a few more times, then finally sighed. He took a few steps towards me (and away from the speeder), his shoulders slumping.
"I... I've been having these dreams. I haven't been able to tell anyone but Padmé about them, and she keeps telling me they're nothing. But they weren't nothing when I was having dreams about my mother."
I closed the rest of the distance between us, putting an arm around Anakin as I eased him into sitting on one of the garden's benches, close to the edge of the parking lot. His hands shook as he held them up to emphasize his speaking, and the second he noticed, he shoved them between his legs.
"I keep having nightmares about Padmé dying with our children, as she's having them. There's something very wrong, but she won't believe me, and I can't talk to anyone else about it without telling them about our relationship. It's on me to save her. The Chancellor seemed to know, seemed to want to help me... and I don't know that I have another choice anymore."
"...Anakin. You just told me yourself that he's a Sith lord."
"But what other choice do I have?" he cried, exploding again. "I won't lose her. I won't let her die! I was too late to save my mother, I won't be too late to save Padmé. Master Windu says he doesn't trust me because he can feel my fear, but how else am I supposed to feel?"
I nodded, taking a deep breath as I put my hand on Anakin's shoulder again. He was seething, but he tolerated it.
"Your fear is valid, Anakin. If I had recurring nightmares about losing you, I'd be sticking to you like glue on missions. And that's without the factor of children! But if you starting taking rash, drastic actions as a result of that fear—like trusting a Sith lord who's been lying and manipulating his way through the Jedi for years—it might just cause exactly what you're scared of in the first place."
"So what are you saying? You're telling me I should do nothing, too?"
"No! Just... take a few deep breaths, and make your decisions with as rational a head as you can. From what I remember you telling me, Anakin, the dreams about your mom were actually visions happening in real time. And I'm sorry to remind you of that at all, but that means they were different than your dreams of Padmé. I saw her walking around the senate chambers today. She's not already dead."
Anakin took a deep breath as, to my relief, my words seemed to manage to get through to him, at least a little bit. When he spoke again, it was at a normal volume despite the words being a bit strained.
"That doesn't change the fact that she's in danger. Just because she's alright for now doesn't mean that she won't be-"
He broke off, clenching his fists and squeezing his eyes shut tight. I moved my hand from his shoulder to take both of his hands in mine.
"Has Padmé gone to her doctor lately? To check out whether anything is wrong? She's due soon, isn't she?"
"Yes. She's due soon. I don't know if she's been to a doctor since the dreams started. The Jedi... things have been keeping me from her recently."
"Well, okay then. For PadmĂ©'s sake and your own, let's sit up here and take a few deep breaths. I know that sounds like what everyone else in the Order's been telling you, but we did smash plates earlier, so I'm hoping you'll trust me. Then, once we're acknowleding the fear but making it take a backseat on decision-making, we can go see PadmĂ©. We'll talk to her, and go see her doctor, just to check everything out and make sure it's all okay. I'll go with you to maintain the 'friendship' cover as much as possible. With all of the technology and medicine available to us, Anakin—especially since PadmĂ© serves in the senate and you're a Jedi—any complications should be completely treatable and preventable. Then, once you're feeling alright about that, we can make a choice."
Anakin narrowed his eyes, then raised an eyebrow at me.
"And what choice is that?"
"If you want to stay with Padmé, we stay with Padmé. If you want to talk to Windu, we work together and come up with a plan for you to talk to Windu. Hopefully, by the time we get back to the Temple, he and the others will have defeated Palpatine and we can put all this behind us. But one way or another, we can practice and work out a conversation starter for you to discuss with him why he doesn't trust you, and how that makes you feel. It might not change his mind, but I really think it'll make you feel better to get it out there and talk about it with him. Calmly, though. As much as you might want to yell at him, and as nice as it might feel in the moment, it'll only make you worse off in the end. Which is why we come up here to smash plates first."
To my immense relief, that last part made Anakin crack the smallest of smiles. The knot of fear and lingering anger was still there, but much smaller, and confined to just a part of my best friend. That overwhelming knot I'd noticed earlier was almost entirely gone.
"I... think I like that plan. At least the first part of it."
"Good, then let's go do it. Just remember, Ani: I'm here for you. Odds are good that you're going to feel really scared and really angry again as we deal with the next few days. And that's normal. We just have to practice managing it, and I'm here for you whenever you need help with that."
"...Does that mean I officially get access to this place whenever I want it?" He gestured to the garden and smaller plate-smashing station around us, and I smiled.
"Sure. But you're gonna have to do some shopping for cheap plates before you come up here again. Believe it or not, I'm just about out."
"Seems like a pretty low number of plates you had up here. Aren't you supposed to be more prepared than that as a Jedi Knight?"
"Plate shopping was on my long list of errands for today. But... I ended up having more important things to do with my day."
The two of us shared a smile, and although Anakin's was weak, it felt like the sun shining down on us to me. We weren't out of the storm yet, but looking at my best friend in that moment, I knew we were both going to get to the other side okay.
****************
"Oh... my stars."
I grinned, my feeling echoing Obi-Wan's as the two of us and Ahsoka were led into the delivery room. Padmé laid in the bed, a baby cradled in her arms, and Anakin stood beside her with the other baby in his.
After Anakin and I's long talk on the roof, and after getting through some of the immediate aftermath of dealing with Chancellor Palpatine being a Sith lord, he'd finally decided to share his and Padmé's "secret" with Obi-Wan and Ahsoka, along with Rex, Cody, and a few of the other clones we'd been to hell and back with. Literally all of them had already known, but everyone other than Obi-Wan pretended to be surprised for Anakin's sake, and the knowledge meant a lot more to all of us now that Anakin had voluntarily shared it with us.
Even after all the doctor's appointments and support from his friends, I could feel the weight that had lifted from Anakin's shoulders with Padmé sitting in bed now, tired but healthy, their babies just as healthy and delivered in their arms.
"Wanna hold her? Her name's Leia," Anakin said, gently holding the baby in his arms out to Obi-Wan. He looked about knocked flat, but gingerly held his arms out all the same.
"Of course I do."
Anakin smiled, gently putting Leia into Obi-Wan's arms. Ahsoka headed over towards Padmé, and I was about to follow her when Anakin caught me, taking my arm and gently pulling me aside.
"Do you have a minute?"
I nodded, following Anakin as he led me just out of the room and into the hallway. I raised an eyebrow, but I could tell from Anakin's energy and the smile on his face that this was nothing bad.
"I have something to ask you."
"Okay... spit it out then. Dad."
Anakin's smile was enough to outshine the sun, and it warmed my heart to see him like that.
"Well, Padmé and I talked, and... since both of our lives are so dangerous, and since I may or may not be able to continue in the Order depending on how well we can continue to hide our secret..."
I scoffed, but Anakin ignored me.
"We wanted to make you the honorary, support-parent of the twins. I'm not going to let anything happen to us, but if something ever did... we want you to take them. And either way, we want you to be involved in their lives as... a mentor, of sorts."
"Anakin... I don't need a title or an official invitation to do everything I can to be in their lives. Frankly, not even death could stop me. Since Force ghosts exist and all."
Anakin grinned. "I know that. But I want you to have the title anyway. I mean, who better to help guide my kids through life than the person who made sure I didn't let my fear ruin any shot at actually seeing them?"
"...Surely someone else has told you that emotions are a normal, healthy thing for you to be feeling?"
"Believe it or not? You were the first."
I smiled, then moved forward to wrap Anakin in a tight hug. He didn't waste a second returing the gesture.
"I would be honored to play a role like that in the twins' life, Ani," I said, not letting go of him as I spoke. "Thank you for trusting me with it."
"Thank you for helping me get a hold of everything. I love Obi-Wan, but... he never managed to teach it the way you did. I don't know what would've happened if you hadn't found me when you did."
I squeezed Anakin tight, letting the seriousness live on for another moment before pulling away with a grin.
"Are you kidding me? I'll always find you, whether you want me to or not. I'm your best friend. You can't get rid of me, and you can't hide anything from me. And don't you forget it."
Anakin scoffed and rolled his eyes, but I could see how genuine the smile on his face was. I clapped him on the shoulder and took a step back towards the delivery room.
"Come on. I'm honorary guardian of the twins, and I haven't even met them yet. Obi-Wan's been holding Leia for long enough, it's my turn now."
"Good luck getting her back. Did you see the look on his face? I think I'm going to have to force him to let her go."
The two of us shared a laugh as we reentered the delivery room. The past few years of the war and the past few weeks especially had been brutal, on all of us. And there was still a lot of work to be done putting things right. But some very, very good things had come out of it, too, and no matter what came next, we'd always have each other.
Good Night (Platonic Obi-Wan Kenobi x Padawan!Reader)
As Obi-wan Kenobi's padawan, your life was never short on adventure. Unfortunately, that meant you were always short on sleep. You were pretty sure the bearded man could see that when he asked you to stay on the ship while he, Anakin, and Ahsoka went ahead on the recon mission.
You tried to stay awake, knowing that despite the low impact of the task, it was all too important when someone or something actually did try to take or destroy the ship.
You only closed your eyes for a moment, and when you opened them again, you were against Anakin's chest, being carried to the quarters that, for the time being, you were sharing with your fellow Padawan.
You mumbled something that was probably supposed to come out as, "Master?" It sounded more formless than that, you were sure.
"Shh," he said quietly. "Ahsoka's already asleep. I was trying not to wake you."
"Thanks," you whispered once he set you down, feeling the tension in your neck from falling asleep in your chair release.
"No problem, kid. Sweet dreams."
It was only a few minutes before you heard Obi-wan's light footsteps announce his presence.
He walked over to Ahsoka's bunk first, seeming to check her for injuries once again. The mission must've been more dangerous than they'd been expecting.
"Oh, Padawan," he gave a quiet sigh as he settled down by your bedside. "You know, sometimes I wonder if I go... too easy on you."
He thought you were already asleep.
"But, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm glad you weren't with us this time," Obi-wan whispered. "It was nothing serious, nothing to worry about now, but there was one moment, where Ahsoka--oh, my heart nearly stopped. I can't imagine what it would be like if I had both of you to be worrying about.
"And I know you'll have to be in danger plenty before this war is over... ha, Qui-gon would not have had a problem with this," he shook his head, laughing faintly at himself. "For Forcesake, I didn't even have this problem with Anakin. I wasn't raising him in the middle of a war."
He sighed again. "Anyway, it doesn't matter. This is something I have to figure out on my own," he rubbed a hand across his beard before leaning over and pressing a light kiss to your cheek. "Sleep well, my dear. See you in the morning."
Helping hand
AnakinXFem!Reader
So I decided to kick things off with a padawan Anakin smut because I feel like he was a horny bastard while in training. He's also kinda creepy because why tf did he make monitoring Padme so off-putting? Im so down bad for these types of one-shots so I wrote one myself. I didn't really proofread so I'm sorry if there are mistakes
Really no plot. Just smut.
Warnings: 18+ (MINORS DNI!) Padawn Anakin and reader (Reader and Anakin are 19), explicit sex, cunnilingus ïżŒ, fingering, squirting, unprotected sex, praises from Anakin, dirty talk, masturbation fail, inappropriate use of the force, mirror sex, slight humiliation, also slight fluff at the end.
You had been frustrated for days. Every night after training, you come back to your quarters to attempt to alleviate your throbbing pain. Every time it's the same, getting so close to that high yet it vanishes. Anakin is all you think about. It's unbearable.
The tension is poisoning in fact. You desire him even if it's against the code, does he feel the same? It's a question you always ask yourself. Anakin is your best friend, only a few months older than you. The two of you have been inseparable since you were younglings. Everything you did, Anakin did it with you. He knows you like the back of his hand. He can read you perfectly, it's impossible to hide anything from him.
Hopping in the shower, you wash your body with Anakin's favorite scent. It was a warm, sugary sweet vanilla (sorry if you don't like vanilla) that he compliments every time you guys are around each other 'not to be weird, but you smell really good' he would say awkwardly. You used it just for him, rubbing it all over but focusing heavily on your chest and neck in hopes he could smell it better. Washing your hair, you finish up your shower before putting on your nightware. Which hugged you beautifully, showing off your curves. Lying in bed you begin to think of him. Your hands slowly creep towards your aching spot. He made you frustrated. Not being able to have him is sickening. You slowly brush your clit, wincing at the coldness of your finger tips. Thoughts begin to roll in. You remember the time Obi Wan had taken you guys to the lake for a vacation day. Seeing his toned body was almost too much to handle. You quicken your pace and apply more pressure. Damn it felt good, but only for a minute. Everytime you masturbate you lose your high. You think more explicit thoughts in an attempt to chase your euphoric release. Yet it never comes. Like clockwork a delicious pressure begins working at your clit. You were taken aback by the feeling, not knowing what to do. Soft whimpers escape your mouth. Out of pleasure and fear.
A chuckle came from a dark corner by the door. Anakin slowly walked out from the darkness in his night robes, his fingers still swirling in the air as he approached you. He paused only for a second to swipe the door shut with the same hand, "Need a helping hand?" He said with a smirk. Were you dreaming? Is this real? You whined at his words. "I can read you like an open book Y/n, you want me so badly that you come into your quarters every night after our training ends to masturbate to me. Your own best friend" he said tisking. "Ani-" you finally choked out. He just shook his head at you, "So adorable. I really can't stand it" he said with a grin on his face. Anakin practically pounces on you. He kisses you hungrily and you of course accept it. His fingers quickly replace the phantom pressure. You whimper at the feeling of his finger tips that were cold to the touch. You deepen the kiss, tangling your fingers in his short, sandy hair. Anakin quickens his pace, earning a sweet moan from you. He smirked against your lips as you bit at his. His fingers travelled further down, circling your dripping hole. "Anakin, please! Please stop teasing me!" You cried out, bucking your hips in hopes to soothe your throbbing cunt. He quickly moved his hands away. "Don't be greedy Y/n" he said slapping your pussy. You winced at the stinging sensation. He looked at you and shook his head with a smile, "Be a good girl and let me take care of you, hm?" He cupped your face and kissed you. You only nodded shyly at him.
He pushed his middle finger in your cunt, thrusting it in and out painfully slow. Anakin enjoyed the look plastered on your face, you shut your eyes bit your lip at the agonizing pace. He finally gave in after a few pumps and added another finger. Anakin curled his fingers against your plush walls, smiling at your face that began to contort as your mouth opened to an 'O'. He was searching for something but what was it? He pushed around on several spots before he found it, your sweet spot. You held onto his bicep for support as it was almost too much to handle. A lewd moan erupted from your mouth as picked up his pace. He attacked your neck, kissing and sucking lightly. He made sure there were no marks as it could lead to trouble. Anakin pumped harder and faster until an unusual pressure built up in you, "Ani" you whined. "Hmm" he hummed, smirking into your neck. "I-" you words were interrupted by the overwhelming feeling engulfing you. With a few more pumps, you squirted all over yourself and Anakin's robes. You quickly covered your face in embarrassment. You thought you had pissed yourself seeing that you had never even came to your own fingers before. "Why are you covering that pretty face?" Anakin said, using his mechanical hand to move your hands away. You looked away from his gaze. "Y/n what just happened what completely normal. Have you ever squirted before?" His eyebrows were furrowed. "No, I've never even finished before..." You answered quietly. He just chuckled and slowly sunk his face down to your heat. He immediately licked a stripe up your pussy, his nose hitting your clit. Anakin started making out with your hole. You snapped your hips up in response to his actions. His tongue dipped into your slick as he fucked you with it. Whimpers and moans melodically poured from you as he began to work on your clit. "Oh Ani" you sighed in complete bliss. He added two fingers to the mix which drove you crazy. Anakin continue fingering you and synchronized his licks with his pumps. You were in heaven. The pleasure came to an abrupt end as he backed away from your cunt. You whined at the sudden loss of his fingers and tongue.
"Let's change that shall we, whiny girl?" He said chuckling at you, referring to what you had said earlier. He sat up from his position and took of his robes. You were shocked at the sight in front of you. His dick stood hard and tall right in front of you. He had nothing on underneath. Not even sleep pants. A small groan ïżŒcame from your throat. The thought of his length being inside gagged you. Anakin was large to begin with. He towered over most people as he stood at 6'2. His shoulders were broad and muscular like the rest of his body. You felt like a mouse in this moment, and Anakin was like a cat ready to prey on you. Both of you enjoyed the size difference, admiring each other intently. Anakin massaged your thighs as you took of your night gown to join him in the intimate moment. This time he groaned seeing you. Anakin wasted no time hooking his hands under your legs to spread them. He wiggled his way between your legs and started rubbing his dick against your cunt to lubricate his tip, "You're so messy, I absolutely love it" he said attaching his lips to yours. Anakin pushed in slowly while his fingers circled your clit in an attempt to distract you from the slight pain of his cock stretching you out. He quickly kissed you to muffled out the noises you made, slowly thrusting in and out if you. Soon the pain subsided and the pleasure engulfed your body. Once he knew for sure the pain went away, he pushed the rest of his length in. Anakin thrusted quickly and smiled in the crook of your neck, "You smell so good baby." You smirked realizing your idea worked.
As his thrusts quickened and became more intense, Anakin started pushing your legs further back until they were practically pinned right by your head. He did this to thrust deeper into you. "Your taking me so well darling. Who's a good girl for me?" He said kissing your neck. You only hummed at his words as you were almost too embarrassed to answer his question. "Who is it baby? C'mon use your words." Anakin cooed, trying to coax it out of you. "Me..." You said bashfully. "Hmm? I need you to speak up" He said, fucking you harder. "Me!" You groaned out. Anakin looked you in the eyes and grabbed your face, forcing you to look at him, "But you're also a slut for fucking yourself to the thought of your best friend" He practically spat in your face, flipping the two of you around to face the mirror sitting at the foot of your bed. "Now you are going to watch yourself get fucked by your best friend, whom you are a slut for" he said in a cocky tone, even snickering at you. You buried your face in the sheets to prevent eye contact in the mirror. Anakin just laughed at your embarrassment, found it amusing and hot in fact. He spared you no time to adjust. He snapped his hips hard and quick as he fulfilled his promise of fucking you like a slut. Anakin grabbed your throat and forced you to meet his gaze through the mirror. "I said watch, whore" He growled at you this time. His attitude towards the situation changed. It was no longer sweet and romantic, it was lust driven. You looked at him in the mirror with your mouth hung wide open. It was almost unbearable to keep your eyes open, the feeling was too much. You began to cry out of pleasure. You felt too good and couldn't express it any other way. Words were uncomprehendable in this moment. Anakin's demeanor quickly changed again, "Y/n darling, are you okay?" He stated in a worried tone. He slowed his pace down waiting for your answer. "Yes! Yes I'm wonderful Ani. Please. PLEASE fuck me harder" you finally cried out. Without hesitation Anakin was full throttle again, spreading your ass cheeks to get deeper access. This time you watched his abs flex as he destroyed you. It was so hot. You bit your lip not realizing he was watching where you where focused. Anakin grabbed a fist full of your hair and brought your face right next to his. He kissed you passionately as he used the other hand to grab at your ass, squeezing and massaging it. Anakin lightly slapped it a couple times, earning soft moans from you.
You began to sweat. You clench around his dick as an unfamiliar build up arised in your abdomen. Anakin let go of your hair knowing what was about to happen. He fucked around in different spots until he heard a sharp moan come from you, "Right there Anakin!" You cried out. He grabbed onto your hips and continued his pace. Grunts and groans came from Anakin as he was started to catch up with you. "You're doing so fucking good baby. Cum with me, cum with your best fucking friend". Anakin bellowed out. Those scandalous words sent both of you over the edge. He placed his hands down to give you something to hold onto. "I love you Ani!" you whined out as Anakin milked himself inside you. Your hands were holding onto his so tightly your knuckles were white. The room echoed with the sounds of moans and skin slapping. He continued to fuck you until you came with everything you had in your body. Legs shaking, your euphoric orgasim subsided as Anakin pulled out of you. He turned you around and kissed you. The kiss was sweet and genuine. Not like the other hungry kisses you two had shared moments ago. You pulled away and began to get up from your position to retrieve a towel. Anakin stopped you immediately, "Where do you think you're going? I caused the mess did I not?" He said getting up to grab a towel. He cleaned you up first, then himself. "Wanna sleep over? It will be like old times" you giggled. "I'd love that actually" he said smiling at you. Anakin dressed you back up in your night shirt and then put his robes back on. You got under the blanket and opened the other side for him to join you. Anakin wrapped his arms around you and kissed your forehead. "Oh and Y/n..." He said softly. "Yes?" You responded back. "I love you too". He stated, caressing your hair and placing another kiss on your forehead.
When flowers do the talking (Wrecker x female reader one shot)
Tumblr media
Word count: 3116
((You had no idea why wrecker always came by the medical bay or would bring the occasional small batches of flowers. He said he was just being nice. You had no idea why he was doing it. It’s not until Tech let’s it slip that Wrecker likes you, That you realize how much he has occupied your headspace so you rush to find him))
Once again your eyes drifted over to the bouquet of flowers resting in the vase next to the window. Rain pelted the glass as per usual. That was the one thing you didn’t particularly like about Kamino. Torrential rain. On most occasions it didn’t bother you, but on days when it just poured you weren’t too keen about it.
A week ago though your spirits had been lifted. By the same individual who seemed to know just when a heavy rainstorm was brewing. You had no idea how he knew, but giving the vase your full attention, you didn’t mind. In fact you actually enjoyed it.
Anytime the well built member of clone force 99 would come by it put a smile on your face. Most days it was as simple as a hello or how is your day going. He didn’t get to stay for long, as he usually was called away for missions often. No surprise. Given the groups track recorded.
But he would make up for it. The row of flower vases that use to line your windowsill as a tall tel sign.
Every time Kamino was due for heavy rain, Wrecker would bring you another set of flowers. Your first instinct was where was he getting them from? Kamnio was surrounded by multiple bodies of water. Things like flowers were not within the planet’s surface?
The second thought was why was he giving you of all people flowers? Was it because you were one of the main medical staff members and he wanted to show you his appreciation?
That didn’t seem correct. You were simply doing your job is all.
Your next thought seemed even less plausible. Making you shake your head at how ridiculous it sounded.
Whatever his reasoning for gifting them to you was it didn’t really matter anymore. It was sweet and made any stressful rainy day you experienced brighter.
“(Y/N)?” You lifted your attention to the two figures hovering in the doorway.
Your eyes grew at the state both of them were in. Especially their resident brainiac.
“Tech”. Stunned you were at the way he was limping and clinging onto Hunter for support. Instantly you dropped whatever task you were preforming and moved over to him. Wrapping an arm around Tech’s figure you helped Hunter guide him to the empty medical table.
“What happened?” You immediately questioned the two of the them. Or whoever would ever answer you first.
“A training exercise”. Hunter answered, crossing his arms over his board chest. “We decided to test out a new formation and well it did not go to plan”.
“Technically it did”. Tech held up a finger. “By my calculations we had an 80% chance of success”.
You turned your back to them, digging through your medical supplies for a brace and bacta spray.
“Not 100% though”. You merely said.
You heard Tech exhale behind you. “The chances of a 100% success rate are exponentially low to near impossible. Wrecker’s purists in expressing his romantic attraction towards you, by the use of colorful flora and fauna has a higher success rate I’ve determined”.
You stopped what you were doing. Everything pausing around you.
“What?”
For a few minutes no one uttered a single word. You shook your head. You must have heard him wrong.
Hunter was the first one to break it. “Tech!” He scolded his fellow squad member.
Tech blinked. Not understanding the gravity of his actions he had caused.
“I thought it was obvious”. He simple explained repositioning his slipping goggles.
Obviously it was not. And frankly the very notion of it sounded ridiculous.
You chuckled nervously. “Thats impossible”.
With equipment in hand you twisted back around to attend to your current patient. Who had no idea the affects his statement had on you or your racing mind and heart.
Hunter did, however. The minute Tech had revealed Wrecker’s rather obvious secret he witnessed the way your complexion paled for a brief second before your cheeks shifted to a light shade of pink. The way your heart skipped a beat momentarily then picked up in speed. He was about to say something, but you beat him to the punch.
“Wrecker doesn’t have feelings for me”. You argued, ripping open a bacta patch. Something about the cooling nature of it against your heated skin felt refreshing.
“Your wrong Tech. The flowers are just him being nice”.
Patch in hand you brought it up to the exposed skin of his leg and applied it. Tech hissed slightly from the cold sensation of the patch meeting the warm temperatures of his body.
“Technically you are correct”. He began. “Wrecker is the most accommodating and indulgent one out of the five of us, however it has been visible to each of us, in multiple instants, that he attracted to you. Romantically that is”.
You blinked.
“If I may (Y/N). Wrecker is quite taken by you. Infatuated I believe would be the proper term. On several occasions each one of us has witnessed him speak about you with such significance. From my research it would appear he was, as I’ve read, as though he was ‘floating on air’”.
You opened and closed your mouth. Processing his words. The meanings. The implications in which they held.
This
this couldn’t be true. Could it though?
Again you shook your head. Tech was wrong. Strange as it sounded. Wrecker was just being friendly. Kind. Generous. It’s who he was. Strong and ruthless as he could be in battle, he also had a heart of gold. Wore it on his sleeve.
There was absolutely no way that some like him could harbor romantic affection for you.
And yet. The mere idea of it gave you pause. Was he just being nice? We’re the array of different flowers just a friendly gesture? Or was there more to it?
Racking your brain for anything, you stumbled upon a recent memory. A day when everything that could go wrong, had gone wrong.
Sitting at your desk, body hunched over, you hadn’t noticed him come in. He coughed to get your attention. To which you immediately looked up, eyes meeting his brown ones. Another Bouquet of flowers were in his gloved hands. Red roses this time. Your favorite.
You were beyond exhausted, however the second you eyes landed on him every bad moment from the day vanished like it never had existed.
The way he would stumble over his words every time that he talked to you. How flustered he became in your presence. How he avoided your gaze in certain situations.
It was if everything around you had stopped. Frozen in time.
By the maker.
How had you not noticed it before. It was all right there! Plain as day to see! And you had missed it.
Had missed every single detail.
Maker..
He had feelings for you. Wrecker had feelings for you.
Heat immediately pooled in your cheeks at the sudden realization. Butterflies fluttering away in your stomach at what ever single arrangement of flowers now meant.
From where he was residing, Hunter could see your poor attempt at concealing your flustered appearance. His brown eyes catching yours only making your blush deepen.
It felt like your entire face—no, your entire body was tingling with warmth. Caused by the same individual who had gifted you such treasures.
It was then you came to a second, more deeper realization.
You reciprocated his feelings. You had feelings for Wrecker.
How his wide grin could light up a room. The way he would take an interest in your day. And above all, the flowers. The flowers
.
“(Y/N)”. Hunter called out your name, but you couldn’t hear him.
Millions of thoughts and memories had taken over your mind. You were starting to question the nature of every time Wrecker would say hello to you or was nervous around you.
Was every one of them him taking an opportunity to work up the courage to eventually tell you how he felt?
Looking back on them it had to be. You were absolutely certain of it. The way his gaze would linger on you for far longer then normal.
“(Y/N)!” Hunter’s raised voice snapped you out of your trance.
You blinked. “I-I’m sorry. I just..”.
Your voice drifted off. An overwhelming feeling taking control of your body. Everything suddenly becoming clear. And you knew what you needed to do, before you could rationally think it over.
Before either one of them could utter another word, you dashed out of the medical bay, stumbling as you rounded the corner. Nearly straight into another person.
“Sorry!” Not stopping for even a single minute, you briefly apologized from further down the corridor.
All you could think about was locating Wrecker and telling him exactly how you felt. That you reciprocated his feelings. That you wanted to be with him. Or at the very least give whatever this was a brewing between you two a chance.
However you didn’t know where to start looking. With Hunter and Tech back in the infirmary there was a high probability that their squad was staying put for a bit. As evident by Tech’s minor sprain. Meaning that Wrecker was here. Perhaps near by.
They had just come from the training field. Maybe they had made their way back to their barracks. You rounded another corner. Kriff why did every single hallway have to look the same with its blinding white interior?!
Taking another left you came face to face with the open door to their barracks. You ducked your head inside momentarily to see if he was here. Everything inside laid so still. As if untouched for a while. Kriff. He wasn’t here.
“(Y/N)?” You recognized that voice. You quickly snapped your head in that direction to find Echo walking towards you, a bit confused to find you at his door.
“Echo I need to find Wrecker. Where is he?” You cut off him impatiently, before he could ask what you were doing here of all places.
Puzzled, he pointed down the hall. In the direction he had just come from. “In the hanger, why are—“
Even before the entirety of the sentence could leave his lips you had already dashed off. Running in the opposite direction you had come from. Fully intent on finding Wrecker and letting him know your true feelings. Adrenaline pumped through you veins as you raced down multiple halls. Your destination near.
Finally. Rounding the last corner, you stopped briefly, eyes frantically scanning the surrounding bay to see if you could find him or the Marauder.
Eyes widened the minute you spotted it. Off to the left, housed between a weapon storage vault and another larger vessel. Then you eyes found him.
Nothing stopping you, you quickly darted across the hanger bay. Legs pumping, burning from the excessive running you had done today. But you paid it no mind. No. Reaching Wrecker was all that mattered.
As if he could sense your presence, his frame twisted around to see you coming at him full force.
“(Y/N) what are you—Mmfphïżœïżœ. You flung your body into his, impulsively crashing your lips onto his, cutting him off and rendering him completely speechless.
Realizing what was happening to him, Wrecker reached his arms around your fragile frame securing his hold onto you. The warmth of your body up against his chest mixed with how sweet your lips tasted, maker he thought he was for sure in heaven.
You tasted so delightful on his lips. Like one of those nectar infused cocktails down at the 79. But better. Much better. Richer. More flavorful. Like honey. And he loved honey.
For you, the second your lips touched his it was like fireworks going off. Electrifying and loud, but bright and spectacular. He was so gentle in the way he held you. Careful to not let his strength become too much. Applying just the right amount of pressure.
Maker did you absolutely want to continue kissing him. But you also came here with a purpose. To tell him that you felt the same way about him that he did about you.
Besides you had a good hunch that once you laid everything out in the open, getting to kiss him would become a normal occurrence.
Reluctantly you pulled away. To his disappointment.
But he quickly recovered, staring straight at you. A puzzled look in his eyes. “W-what was that for?”. He questioned you. Vaguely worried that he was dreaming what was happening to him right now. Bracing himself, he had to be sure it was all truly real.
“Tech”. You took in a deep breath, steadying yourself. “He told me everything, Wrecker”. He continued to stare at you, perplexed. What did you know?! There was so much that Tech knew! What had he told you?
“I know about the flowers”. His eyes widened. Tech had told you that secret. Oh dear. “I know that you
you have feelings for me”.
He swallowed slowly, feeling his throat dry at your eyes scanning him. Frantically he opened his mouth to say something. Like Tech was wrong. Or that you had missed heard him or—
“And I wanted you to know that I care about you too”. You admitted out loud finally. To both yourself and him. Having your own confession out in the open felt invigorating. Like a weight off your shoulders.
Even if you had only realized the truth of it all less then twenty minutes ago. It didn’t matter.
Wrecker stood there stunned. Frozen, you wrapped up in his arms. Was he dreaming? He must have been. Because he most definitely misheard you.
“Y-you mean it?”. He responded before he could give it a second thought.
You nodded. “I do. I didn’t realize I did until Tech told me how you felt”.
It was true. You hadn’t really thought about it until Tech put the idea in your head. The the idea of you and Wrecker made perfect sense to you.
He made you laugh, brightened the gray days you would have, and you adored his goof ball energy. And if you were being completely honest, you liked a man who could swallow you up in a single hug. Wrecker checked all the box’s for you.
You lifted your hands up and took his face between them. “I really like you Wrecker”. You confessed wholeheartedly. “I really do”.
The biggest smile you’d ever seen erupted across his face. The pure joy and happiness radiating off of him was contagious. You felt him light up like a thousand stars in the night sky. The browns of his eyes glowing like two embers.
“I love you”. He crushed his rough lips onto yours, catching you off guard. For the briefest of moments you were unable to register what he had said. But then you quickly melted into the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck, leaning into him.
You couldn’t explain the feelings that coursed through your veins, but somehow you felt whole. Like this is where you were meant to be. Being embraced by an individual who was responsible for much joy in your life.
Breaking apart, both of you were left breathing heavily. Lungs near exasperated from the lack of air flow. But it was worth it.
“Wow! That was
wow”. You giggled at his simple minded description.
“Yeah”. You mumbled, shyly biting your bottom lip.
His smile softened as he studied your flushed cheeks. “Maker your really beautiful”. He complimented you without a second thought.
Instantly your entire face flared up at his very honest observation. Normally you did not get embarrassed, but now with everything coming back to you, including a clear head, you made the discovery of just how emotionally driven you’d been.
Not that it was a bad thing, it just usually wasn’t your style. Yet in this situation you were grateful that you had been a bit
reckless in allowing your heart to guide you. For it had led you down this path. To this.
“And your eyes. But especially your smile. Your smile (Y/N) is incredible”. Wrecker confessed. “It was the first thing I noticed and man oh man did it reel me in! It was like I was seeing the sun for the first time”.
You’d seen Wrecker passionate and enthusiastic numerous times, mostly when talking about being on the battlefield. Destroying ‘clackers’ as he referred to them. But never about you. Let alone your smile. You didn’t even know that he liked it that much. The way he was describing it however made your heart swell.
You were too stunned to speak. So he just kept on going. “When I brought you flowers you would always smile, like I was your favorite person, so I-I kept on bringing you some. Umm
even if nothing happened, I’d at least get to see you smile and that would make any day better then it was”.
He brought you flowers, not just because he cared about you, but because he wanted to see your smile?
Dan Ferrik. You swore your heart would melt at that. You couldn’t believe what you were hearing him confess to you!
“Wrecker, you really like my smile that much?”
Wrecker shook his head. “No. I love it”.
Now you were positive your heart was melting. If not your heart then your eyes. Tears had started welling up in them, only to overflow down your cheeks.
“Y-you do?” You asked to which he nodded, leaning in to lay his forehead against yours. Your heart was beating rapidly at this point. No end to its frantic nature in sight.
“I love everything about you”. Now it was his turn to be flustered, but it did not bother him.
He confessed all that he wanted to. All that he needed to. And never in his wildest dreams would he think that you’d feel the same way. But by golly he was so thrilled that you did.
Placing you back down on the ground, to avoid anymore suspicious stares, he scratched at the back of neck. Nervous ticks finally setting in. But he was grateful for your lingering touch. Your hand Iaced with his. Fingers tangled together. Making him feel slightly less nervous.
“Would you like to umm
go out?”
Leaning up on your tippy toes, you placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. “I would love to, Wrecker”. You both beamed from ear to ear.
“Tomorrow?” His smile as bright as ever.
“Tomorrow”. You echoed, spinning around. But not before you uttered one last thing.
“Oh and I’m looking forward to the Bouquet”.
Softness Suits You (Tech x GN! Reader)
Tumblr media
Words: 2k Warnings: None - unless you count Kriff and Karabast as swearing. Note: Gender Neutral - Use of You and (Y/N) A part of the Bad Batch Gift Exchange @cloneficgiftexchange For: @theunderscorekinginyellow Prompt: "Softness Suits You"
“(Y/N),” called Tech, skidding to a halt as he rounded the corner. Blaster fire passed the corner mere seconds later. “Now is not the time to give up on me,” he commented, pulling you back to your feet. You’d slipped down the durasteel wall you’d been learning against with a sharp groan of pain, an arm tightly wound around your midsection, the other putting pressure on another unseen wound hidden beneath your armor and the layers of fabric.
“Wasn’t the time for the plan to go wrong either,” (Y/N) voiced, recalling how the mission had gone sideways quickly. “We went over the plan five times,” you grumbled, blowing out an agonized sigh as the stabbing pain grew in strength.
“I got the package, didn’t I?” responded Wrecker, the sound of blaster fire being exchanged echoing through the com.
“Anyone injured?” came Hunter’s smokey voice. Omega’s innocent one followed, celebrating after hitting another target with her energy bow. Echo soon confirmed he and Wrecker were slightly banged up, but nothing serious. Their main problem was being pinned down.
“(Y/N) got hit, unsure how serious it is,” announced Tech, seemingly ignoring your comment that you were okay. Even when it was evidently obvious you were anything but. You were losing blood, feeling dizzy and shaky, and could barely stand on your own two feet, and Tech had stated you looked paler than usual.
“Tech, get (Y/N) back to the Marauder,” demanded Echo, his voice severe and unyielding. The job for Sid meant little compared to the life of a friend.
“Omega will meet you there,” said Hunter. The young clone’s protests shortly followed his words. “That’s an order,” he added, slipping into a mix of his previous Sargent Mode and that of a protective father figure trying to protect their child and family. “The rest of us Plan 13.”
“Oh yeah,” exclaimed Wrecker, launching into the attack on droids and mercenaries alike. The human wrecking ball wasted little time running head-first into the battle again. His actions a reminder of his days as a soldier of the GAR, back when everything was simpler before the dark times began to strangle the galaxy.
“Oh brother,” mutters Echo before readying himself to rejoin the battle before him. Pushing aside the memories of the many food fights on Kamino before it was bombarded and forgotten about—memories of his brothers of the Domino Squad, 501st, and Bad Batch.
“Ready?” asked Tech, placing his D17s in the holsters for the time being, reaching for your arm to pull you back to your feet. Directing the arm around his neck as his own snaked around your midsection. Hearing the sharpness in your breath as you began to limp forward. The pilot soon pulled the yellow-tinted screen of his helmet down, scanning you over to get a clear idea of the damage and injuries sustained.
“What’s the prognosis, Doctor?” sarcastically asked (Y/N), your eyes glazing over as you become confused and disorientated. “Is it as bad as Crosshair’s friction burns from the Skako mission?” you asked with a light chuckle, wincing shortly after with the pain shooting through your ribs.
“I would argue that was worse,” answered Tech, recalling Crosshair grumbling for days afterward—even more so when Wrecker refused to let him forget about it. “However, this is a close second,” he said, trying to keep your spirits up and offer a distraction from your injuries and dire state.
“Damn. I was hoping to top him this time,” replied (Y/N), as if you had forgotten Crosshair wasn’t there. Instead, he had chosen to return to the Empire, even after they had bombarded Tipoca City with all of them inside. “Still working on that plan to get him back,” you add with the smallest of grins.
“Crosshair
 chose a different path. We have to accept that, even if we don’t agree with it,” spoke Tech with a prang of sadness. Thankful when the Marauder came into view, Omega was already on the steps, waving at them with a small smile of her own. At least until it hit her, Tech was all but keeping you up now.
“What happened?” questioned Omega, quickly running back up the steps, moving to get the medical kit stowed away aboard the ship. At the same time, Tech pulled (Y/N) over to the sleeping racks upon getting you aboard. Nodding to Omega in thanks, when she brought the medical kit over to him, he reached for stem cells and bacta gel in hopes of aiding the healing process.
“We could use a lift,” came the booming voice of Echo, the coms lighting up with the disagreement between the Arc Trooper, Hunter, and Wrecker.
“That with or without Omega hanging from the ship and me falling out or over something?” asked (Y/N), doing your best to lighten the dreary mood and keep Omega from seeing just how bad things were. You had a soft spot for the kid and the boys.
“It was an unscheduled study break,” Tech voiced in response. At least explaining Omega hanging from the ship. A smirk appeared across his lips upon remembering the two separate incidences regarding (Y/N) falling over something and falling from the ship completely. “And momentarily lapse in coordination.”
“Just patching (Y/N) up, then we’ll be there,” announced Omega, keeping the trio of Hunter, Echo, and Wrecker in the loop.
“This is going to hurt,” stated Tech, receiving a (Y/N) famous deadpan look in response. At least informing him, he was pointing out the obvious again, without calling the exceptionally minded clone by the normal nickname. Captain Obvious.
“You mean more than it already does?” You asked, the next part of your comment forgotten as the bacta gel burned like someone had poured the lavas of Mustafar into your open wounds. “Kriff!”
“Language” worded Wrecker via the comm link.
“Aurebesh,” you replied, much to Omega’s amusement. Tech could only shake his head and roll his golden eyes.
“Switch out the words, (Y/N),” spoke Hunter, once again the familiar sound of blaster fire following his words, hinting at the trouble the trio was in now.
“Yes, Papa Hunter. Next time, I’ll use Karabast,” quickly shot (Y/N), not noticing Tech had stepped close with an anesthetic, at least not until he caught you with it.
“Rest for now (Y/N). Omega and I can handle the extraction,” announced Tech. He made sure you were lying comfortably on his rack before heading to the cockpit with Omega. The young clone gave Gonky his own mission to watch over you while you slept.
When (Y/N) finally woke up, the Marauder was on stable ground, and the ship was quiet—too quiet. The only noise was Gonky waddling the length of the ship with the normal “Gonk” on repeat, although the droid did seem to be pestering Tech, who sat at the communications desk just in front of the sleeping racks.
“Where’s the others?” you asked with a cracked and broken voice. Your throat was dry and scratchy from the lack of use. Slowly, you moved your head to look around the ship. The cockpit was empty, void of Echo and Wrecker. The rear gunner's port had no Omega resting there, although Lula and her little clone trooper were. Hunter was nowhere to be seen either. Only Tech and Gonky were there.
“Wrecker and Omega are following through with their tradition,” Tech replied, standing and walking over, an unreadable expression painted on his features. The moment he reached you, he placed a soft hand on your forehead, relief washing over him minutes later. "Hunter and Echo are delivering the package to Sid.”
“How long was I out?” you asked. Then it hit you: You were no longer on Eadu but instead back on Ord Monell.
“Just over a day,” started Tech, helping you sit up. “I’d appreciate it if we didn’t repeat what happened,” he added, pushing his goggles back up the bridge of his nose.
“I’m not gonna let you get shot, Tech, and I did tell you to leave me,” argued (Y/N), feeling relief now the majority of your pain was gone, either nulled by the anesthetic or washed away by the bacta healing the wounds.
“We don’t leave our own behind,” stated Tech, a matter of factly, with a pointer finger raised, as if to drill it into your head and make it stick. “The others are fine as well. Wrecker still thinks the scans are invisible spiders,” he added, allowing his stiffness to melt a little upon hearing your small ring of laughter.
“Hunter and Echo still the parents?” (Y/N) asked, side-eyeing and suspicious, just in case something had changed while you were out for the count.
“Careful (Y/N), your softer side is showing,” joked Tech. “Either that, or you hit your head harder than I thought.”
“Or I’m high as a kite and hallucinating,” you commented.
“Not lost your sense of humor, " Echo said upon boarding the ship. A scratch now donning his cheek below the left eye. However, the worry plaguing him now seemed to melt away.
“Mustafar would freeze over before that happened,” (Y/N) replied with a small smile, “Or Hoth would warm up.” You quietened for a few minutes before it hit you: Tech had said your soft side was showing. Didn’t it always when you were around your found family? “Wait, what you mean my softer side is showing?” you questioned, hearing Echo chuckle as he held his hands up in surrender before walking off to the cockpit.
“I don’t mean to offend you,” started Tech, suddenly uncomfortable, even more so when his hopes of you missing his words were dashed. “Normally, when out in the field or around Sid, you appear like Crosshair, stoic, cold, and armed with snide comments for enemies and sarcastic ones to lighten the mood,” he rambled, hoping to explain away what he now saw as a blunder.
“Tech,” you softly call, a sweet grin appearing now as you made it apparent you weren’t offended by the comment, merely curious.
“I thought it was obvious. Softness suits you,” directed Tech,
“Will you two make it official already?” voiced Wrecker as he and Omega returned to the ship. Hunter followed along behind, slightly confused by the comment but smirking nonetheless.
“Way to ruin the mood, Wrecker,” (Y/N) replied. “I’m recruiting Omega to help terrorize you the next time you go speed dating.”
“That was one time.”
“Wrecker went speeding dating?” questioned Echo
“Yup, It’s right up there with Hunter and Crosshair waking up handcuffed in a fountain,” you reply, hearing Omega laughing,
“I hate your memory right now,” commented Hunter, his cheeks redding as he sat down at his normal spot.
“Please do tell me more,” commented Echo, knowing he and Fives got up to some crazy things, along with Kix, Hardcase, and Jesse, things he often got a chuckle out of when he allowed himself to remember them. However, he wanted to know more about what the rest of the batch got up to during the war.
“No! I’m gonna die of embarrassment,” replied Wrecker, recalling the speeding dating disaster. Their first shore leave after joining the war effort. (Y/N) as their Jedi had told them to have fun, not expecting to get a call from Fox informing you, your squad was spending the night in detention.
“Wasn’t that bad” replied Tech, trying to soothe the situation. Although he’d admit you laughing from behind him wasn’t helping.
“I want to hear about it,” Omega called, her sweet, innocent voice seemingly breaking through. Hunter and Wrecker shared a glance, knowing (Y/N) couldn’t deny the young clone anything, although, thankfully, you told the stories in a child-friendly way.
“Was that the one I have no memory of?” asked Tech, recalling they’d gotten up to a lot of mischief. He’d personally set off a few security breaches from hacking sensitive information. Wrecker had set so many alarms off with his explosives that the Coruscant Guard had come to expect it and, at points, used it as a training exercise. Hunter and Crosshair found themselves in contests with different goals. Meanwhile, (Y/N) collectively named everything the Lame Game.
“Yup,” replied (Y/N), popping the p. “Never did find out how you ended up black-out drunk under the booth table. Or why you were wearing Wolffe’s helmet?” You laughed.
“Tech’s right; Softness does suit you,” replied Hunter, the smallest of grins appearing across his lips as he got comfortable, ready to relive the embarrassing moments of the past. “You’re still the best storyteller, though.”
Been There, Done That
Tech x fem!reader
Fandom: Star Wars: The Bad Batch
Summary: Some things never change.
Warnings: angst, unrequited love (i love Phee tho, don't get me wrong), bit of low self-esteem, jealousy, slightly implied cheating maybe
A/N: Oneshot is based on the song "On My Own" from the Les Miserables musical.
You remember that day clearly.
You were a singer at Cid's dingy parlor in Ord Mantell, earning just enough to get by. Lucky you that Cid let you stay at an adjoining room to her business place. Her parlor wasn't that famous, nor was it that underground either. There were a few regular patrons here and there; a lot of times, new faces would appear once and never come back. You didn't see that much hope in your future, either. You figured you would be stuck there forever.
Until they came.
At first, you found it odd that a group of clones came into a parlor. Even worse that they brought a young girl with them. That definitely made you suspicious. Who would bring a child in this shady place?
You couldn't even tell that they were clones at first---or even that the girl was also a clone. The men's armor seemed to be very different from the usual white and painted armor. These clones had black and red armor (save for one, who had light grey and red). They looked different, too. While all the other clones were identical---save for the varying hairstyles, scars, and tattoos---these clones didn't even look like clones at first. One was a huge giant, one was pale with cybernetics, one had a giant face tattoo and long hair, and one was slightly lean with goggles. Let's not even get started on the girl.
These clones---Clone Force 99 or the Bad Batch, as they want to be called----reluctantly started to work for Cid until it became a regular deal. And so it was that their missions for Cid would lead them to be in the parlor frequently. They would catch you performing sometimes. And sometimes, when time would permit it, they would chat with you for a bit. Omega was the bubbliest of the bunch, always asking you to play with her if time permit.
You remember that day clearly.
That one fateful day, though you wish it wasn't under such circumstance.
Omega had come running in the parlor. Trailing behind her were her brothers, covered in several cuts and bruises, especially Wrecker, who was also limping.
That was the start of it all.
Ord Mantell as a whole is a shady place. Coupled with having witnessed countless bar fights, you had to learn first aid. It was a skill you quickly developed through many oppurtunities in the parlor and in the streets. And that was how you helped the Batch. That one fateful day, you were the one who tended to their injuries.
And so it became that you turned into their medic. Just an extra hand staying at Ord Mantell, if they needed; but soon you started to tag along them in the missions Cid gave them. And being their medic meant you spent a good chunk of your time with Tech.
He filled in the gaps of your medical knowledge. Truthfully, you really enjoyed learning anything, so you've always looked forward to spending time with Tech because it always meant you would soak up tons of information. Not only that, you two would always debate back and forth on topics you were confident and very knowledgeable about. It was a fresh change from your routine life as a singer in Cid's parlour.
And it came to no surprise to the Batch that Tech was the person you grew closest to.
Everything was going well, you thought. Everytime you were with him---every smile, compliment, even critique---your smile would be at its brightest. Your ramblings would be at their most energetic. And your heart would beat at its fastest.
But as always with you, the happy things never seem to last.
You remember that day clearly.
You came into Cid's office with the Batch, side-by-side with Tech. There was someone else in the office with the Trandoshan, though. Phee the pirate. You'd recognize that charisma anywhere.
You've met her a few times since Cid seemed to trust her a great deal. You admire the lady too. She's strong, beautiful, witty, smart, independent, charismatic.
Everything you're not.
The way she talked to Tech made you feel odd. You had expected her to chat up Hunter, mostly. But not Tech.
At first Tech didn't even pay much heed to her; and to your own disgust, you were somehow thankful for that.
But as Phee spent more time with you and the Batch---up to the point of relocating to Pabu---Tech and Phee got closer.
They spent much time alone. And even when the rest of you were there, Tech would always give her a smile different than the ones you've ever seen him give to anyone. And his tone---a soft, gentle tone that he's never used on anyone else but her.
And frankly, those were the only signs you needed.
You, Phee, and the Batch had an early dinner which finished as the sun was setting. You had seen the genius and pirate get up and walk away together, laughing about something. You quickly excused yourself from the table, but not before you caught Hunter giving you a soft gaze.
Presently, you've been sitting on a rock on the shores of Pabu for goodness knows how long. Purple with hues of orange paint the sky as the sun has almost completely set. The waves washing upon the shore and recoiling back into the sea in an almost melodic rhythm.
It's only now that you open your journal---yes, a paperback journal as it feels more personal---and begin to write, the light of the sunset and a small lamp beside you shining on the pages.
On my own, pretending he's beside me.
Your mind conjurs up an image of Tech sitting silently beside you on the rock, quietly typing away on his datapad.
All alone, I walk with him 'til morning.
You two would get up and start making your back to Upper Pabu, discussing a new species of plant Tech just read about.
Without him, I feel his arms around me. And when I lose my way, I close my eyes, and he has found me.
As you write those words, it's as if you could feel the plastoid of his armor around your arms and body. A rare gesture from him, but one that you always cherished.
In the rain, the pavement shines like silver. All the lights, are misty in the river. In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight; and all I see is him and me forever and forever!
You recall a mission with the Batch, one that had you and Tech disguised as a couple, dressed in civies, walking down a busy marketplace when the rain poured harshly. You two ran back through a forest by a river to get back to the Marauder. You two were holding hands even, which made your heart thump so much that Hunter had a suspicious look on his face when you came back.
But the scene in your head disappears, leaving you alone with your journal again under the night sky.
And I know it's only in my mind that I'm talking to myself and not to him.
You smile bitterly at the times he seemed oblivious to your flimsy excuses to just even be near him. In hindsight, it's cute and endearing.
And although, I know that he is blind, still I say there's a way for us.
Your smile drops and your head is clear once again.
I love him.
But when the night is over, he is gone. The river's just a river. Without him, the world around me changes. The trees are bare and everywhere the streets are full of strangers.
Your mind drifts back to that memory of you two running through the forest. But this time, you're alone, and suddenly the memory doesn't seem special at all.
I love him.
But every day I'm learning all my life, I've only been pretending!
It's as if a Rancor were squeezing your heart as your write. Your hand shakes, making you almost drop your pen. You recall all the times you've been rejected before Tech---the two other guys that you liked before him. You weren't pretty enough for the first one, he had said so himself, as he didn't deem you mature-looking enough. You had just turned into a teenager, and that was what he was already looking for. You loathed your body and youself for that.
And even though the second one became your boyfriend, he still left you without a word to pursue someone else.
And now that Tech has his eyes on someone else, it's as if you were a teenager again looking for approval from the people she admired.
Were you not pretty enough for Tech? Not smart enough? Not strong enough?
He doesn't have to say anything, you already know the answer.
Without me, his world will go on turning. A world that's full of happiness that I have never known.
Finally, your mind plays back the every memory of Tech and Phee enjoying each other's company. Their laughter, smiles, banter, and affection shoot like blaster fire through your heart.
I love him.
I love him.
"I love him," you mutter to yourself.
But only on my own.
You're alone as you write the last sentence. Stars decorate the night sky like glitter; the waves unrelenting in their charge against the shore. Even in the island of refuge and paradise, full of people and cheer, you feel invisible.
