Apparently since appearing on Wil Wheaton's Tabletop show on YouTube, Fluxx has had the money to afford licenses. So instead of just generic/public domain themes like Star Fluxx, Zombie Fluxx and Cthulhu Fluxx, you can now buy and play Marvel Flux, Jumanji Fluxx and at least 2 Star Trek Fluxxs based on The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. While playing Star Fluxx it was fairly easy to pick out the references to Star Trek, Star Wars and Doctor Who. Looney Labs has partnered with Gale Force Nine to announce two new Fluxx games featuring Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation at New York Toy Fair, Feb. 17 – 20. Each Fluxx will feature the most popular characters from each series including Captain Kirk and Captain Picard.

Star Trek Is Coming To The World Of Fluxx

Looney Labs, makers of the popular card game series, have announced two more entries to the series based on ‘Star Trek’  The company will partner with Gale Force Nine to produce a ‘Star Trek: The Original Series’ version and one for ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ as well.  Looney Labs plans to highlight the upcoming releases at New York Toy Fair next weekend.  If you haven’t played Fluxx before, this might be a great entry point.  The game is for 2-6 players and almost anyone can get in on the fun, regardless of their knowledge of the respective shows.  The new games will go on sale August 2nd.
