but dangit i want more drama focusing on the journals and author with all the dramatic irony in full force!!!

So im just throwing ideas out here, but in this Stan is a demon haunting Fiddleford, a lonely divorced priest, and is trying to get him to commit sin or go insane. Unfortunately for him, the fear of being haunted by a demon wears off when Fiddleford realizes hes basically harmless and is just mildly annoyed by his presence (Stan is just floating around him listing sins Fidds should do)

Despite Fidds annoyance, Stan does make good company.

Hc that Stan joined the football team at some point back in highschool. He was happy, his brother was happy for him, his ma was proud. And he really felt like he was finally part of a team, and who knows? Maybe he could get some ACTUAL friends! But there was one thing. He wasn't the quarterback. That was the first thing his pa asked him when he delivered the news. "Are you a quarterback?" No. No he wasn't.

So. His first match came up. And they won! His team won! Everyone was happy! His teammates were happy, Ford was happy, ma was happy- but pa wasn't. Actually, he wasn't there. At all. He didn't see his team win. He didn't bother to come.

Stan quit football soon after.

With Ford being more inclined with the nature of study and discovery, he became the book nerd his father loves. But for Stan, who had nothing to say on his report card, had no choice but to survive the hateful trials his father gave him.

And as their paths diverged, they still try to fit in what they believe who they were. The one with the streets tailed with a record of crimes, and the one with his books under his nose has a demon inside his head. It wasn’t supposed to be like this.

Mistakes were done, but their life wasn’t. They have to live, and for better or worse, time has changed them.

Who would’ve thought knucklehead Stan could repair majority of the portal with only one journal, not knowing half of it was written with invisible ink? And who would’ve thought poindexter Ford could manage to survive this far and in shape, against all the uncertain dangers across multiple dimensions?

To think Stan managed to trick the very demon that haunts their universe with his “good-for-nothing” brain, and for Ford to be the one strong enough to pull the trigger.

Three decades and it has come to this. The man with the plan and his executioner, and the father would never believe who is who.

Who would’ve thought indeed.

those newer fans can't possibly understand, having years of super dramatic and depressing depictions of stanley pines' fake death, only for us to get a silly straw dummy and the worst acting stan has done in his entire life

(altho i suppose months of everyone hc-ing that ford wore a turtleneck 24/7 because he's ashamed of his scars, only for us to get all-star tattoo-ed comes pretty close)

also an au where gf cops were slightly more competent and stan ends up being the prime suspect in his own murder because a man mysteriously dies after meeting his estranged twin who suddenly is inviting people to his murder hut....

How the Gravity Falls Gang Pisses on a Road Trip

Dipper: begs to pull over but there’s no rest stop for miles. Can’t hold it anymore and launches himself out of a moving car so he doesn’t have an accident in front of everyone. Runs into the bushes and does what has to be done. From the car everyone can hear the faint pre-teen cries of “oh god why why why now you stupid STUPID bladder”

Mabel: bought a GoGirl and intentionally waited to announce she had to pee until they were miles from a rest stop so she had an excuse to use it. No one else is amused. Mabel winds up chucking an old water bottle filled with piss out the window and everyone else vows never to speak of it again.

Stan: pulls over and goes just off the roadside. He tells the kids to keep watch. He says Ford would be too suspicious because people would call the cops if they saw a guy in a trench coat lurking alone by the side of the highway. Ford argues people are more likely to report small children alone. Stan tells him to never underestimate how creeped out people are of twin children at night (Stan is correct)

Ford: discreetly asks Stan to pull over. Is both hyper practical and weirdly embarrassed by the whole ordeal. It’s just a bodily function after all, in the multiverse bathrooms were much closer together! Only this universe could have something as infernal as long stretches of highways without rest stops! Goes alone into the bushes then comes back and asks for hand sanitizer. He’s horrified to learn that the Stanleymobile doesn’t have any and adamantly refuses to touch anything until they arrive at their destination and he can wash his hands.

Wendy: just says ‘ah boo, sorry dudes I gotta take a leak’. After Stan pulls over she disappears into the woods for a bit and comes back ready to roll. ‘I’m like, 80% sure what I wiped with wasn’t poison ivy”. Shes right.

Soos: somehow manages to hold it in until the rest stop because he’s too pee shy to go on the side of the road and he’ll be damned if he pisses in Mr. Pines’ car. He keeps yelling about how he’s gonna blow until Stan is hauling 90 in a 55 to get this man to a bathroom.
