Headcanons - Ingrid
headcanons are subject to updates
As an old childhood friend, she is aware of many of Sylvain's, Felix's and Dimitri's likes, dislikes, advantages and struggles.
She has started training with swords at the age of five and lances as soon as she was tall enough for short lances soon after. Her riding skills are excellent, as she had been sitting on a horse's back even before she could walk.
As a child she used to think she loved Glenn, but she has realized that it was mostly respect for a role model she felt for him. She still thinks of him fondly and keeps little memories of him, such as the letters they used to write each other.
Always appears on time for training. She has never missed a single one or was late.
Growing up with only a father and an older brother, as well as their financial situation, she is not very experienced in feminine topics. However, she is interested in various things and would actually like to learn more about them.
While she is the calmest person in her family, she may react harshly or emotionally influenced without considering her counterpart's own emotions. She is quick to apologize for such incidents soon after, though.
She likes dogs and cats alike, but prefers dogs. Her family owns an old hunting dog that has been retired and now serves as a cuddly pet for the residents.
Her pegasus is named Kyphon after the knight in her favorite story book. It is the one her mother used to read to her a lot during her mother's last days of sickness before her death. Thus, the book has a sentimental value for Ingrid. Her interest in fairy tales about chivalry also partly stems from her mother's own interest in them.
Crimson Flower: If recruited, Ingrid will question her own ideals a lot, especially loyalty and noble sacrifices. This may sometimes give her a feeling of existential crisis as her own beliefs and ideals clash and she cannot find a common ground for them. If together with one of her childhood friends, she will watch them with eagle eyes to prevent them being taken away from her as well.

Fire Emblem Three Houses: Which Ending is a Happy (or most Fulfilled) Ending(s) for Ingrid in Fire Emblem Three Houses? (ALL ENDINGS INCLUDED)
Not all character endings are happy ones. Some don't accomplish their goals, there are those who don't completely heal from trauma, or they're overshadowed by someone they're paired with. However, There are also those who accomplish their goals no matter what (Ex: Ignatz being a painter) or seem content with how things went for them.
I'm mostly not going to discuss supports (meaning compatibility between characters or the most romantic) since that's not what this is about. It's about which endings would be the happiest for a specific character or what makes them more fulfilled (you can choose more than one).
Recap: Dedue
Bernadetta
So right now, we are going to discuss Ingrid. One of Ingridâs biggest struggles is deciding between her dream of being a knight and the welfare of her noble house as the only Crest bearer in the Galatea family. On one hand you should follow your dreams and be happy but on the other hand her father made sacrifices for her (even starving himself to make sure she eats), and worked himself to the bone to make sure she got into the academy. Plus there are the people in the County of Galatea to consider since they are probably affected by the land's poor conditions for agriculture. It seems like she has to choose one over the other. You can't always have both. Can you?
One of the things that makes Ingrid unique is that her endings change depending on which she's in. From what I know in Non-Azure Moon endings she doesn't end up as a Knight. But there are a few things we should take into consideration. 1.) What makes a Knight a true knight? Courage, honor, courtesy, justice, and a readiness to help the weak. There are people who have the profession of Knight but don't show any of those qualities. Some would say having a soul of a knight would be enough (non-Azure moon endings). But Ingrid could have both the soul and the profession (Azure Moon endings). 2.) In Ingrid's support with Byleth there seems to be a line change in their A-Support depending on the route. In Azure Moon she said "Now that this war has begun, my father has allowed me to fight for my homeland." Meaning she gained her father's blessing. In other routes she said "Now that I have parted ways with my father, there is nothing stopping me from pursuing my dream" meaning she cut ties with her family. If her family were assholes I would understand cutting ties but they weren't. So gaining her father's blessing in the Azure Moon route might be important.
Endings
Ingrid - Stalwart Knight (Azure Moon)
"Ingrid declined to rule House Galatea, choosing instead to serve House Blaiddyd as a knight. After achieving widespread renown, she formed an elite order of pegasus knights who served as personal bodyguards to the nobility. She never took a husband."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Obviously! She's finally able to achieve her dream of being a Knight and forms an elite order of Pegasus knights. Nobody needs a romantic partner to be happy. She made her achievements all on her own!
Is she able to help her land and House?: It's never mentioned in her ending. Just that she declined to rule. So we don't know if there were any improvements
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is this a happy ending for Ingrid, no, or so-so?: Yes. She doesn't need a husband to achieve her dream or forming an elite order of pegasus knights. She earned her reputation.
Ingrid - Stalwart Knight (Other routes)
"When Galatea territory was seized, Ingrid argued strongly for the preservation of its borders. Her request was granted, and she was appointed to rule. From her new position, she gave her all to ensure that the people of Galatea lived peaceful lives and put in years of hard work to reform its farming practices. Her efforts bore fruit, to the people's delight, and Galatea became a land of plenty."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No, but one of the things that makes a Knight is readiness to help the weak and she came back for her people. So while she doesn't have the profession, she still has a soul of a Knight
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes. She gave her all to help her people and reform its farming practice to help her land due to its poor conditions for agriculture. All on her own!
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is this a happy ending for Ingrid, no, or so-so?: WhIle she didn't become a Knight, she became a dedicated lord to her people. Being a Knight isn't always having a profession as one. You need to have a spirit of one to be a true Knight. One of which is helping people. This ending is more so-so since it depends on the perspective.
Ingrid and Byleth (Azure Moon)
"Byleth announced his marriage to Ingrid shortly after succeeding Rhea as the new archbishop. Together they made great strides in helping to restore the Kingdom of FĂłdlan to its former glory and beyond. Though Ingrid provided counsel to the archbishop as his wife, she also earned renown as a Holy Knight of Seiros. Most famously, she parried an insurgent's blade with her own weapon just before it struck the archbishop's neck. Tales of the archbishop who ended the long war, and his valiant wife Ingrid, lived on in storybooks for generations."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes, as a Holy Knight of Seiros. Not only that, it's mentioned in her C Support with Ashe that one of her favorite old tales is "Sword of Kyphon". A part of the story mentioned that Kyphon parried the assassin's blade mere inches from the spine of his king. This ending basically has Ingrid recreate that part of the tale by having her parry an insurgent's blade before it struck Byleth and she ends up becoming a legend in the storybooks she loved reading.
Is she able to help her land and House?: ??? (It doesn't say. But let's try to think of things from a political perspective. Would Ingrid being married to an Archbishop be useful to House Galatea and their lands?)
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (The dream part yes. But helping the County of Galatea, again it depends on the political perspective)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Byleth, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both. Ingrid earned being a Holy Knight of Seiros and turned into a legend to be told in Future generations alongside Byleth.
Ingrid and Byleth (Crimson Flower)
"When the war at last came to an end, Byleth and his wife, Ingrid, relocated to her hometown. Galatea territory had been seized by the Empire, but the emperor granted Ingrid's request to retain governance of it. She and her husband were initially received with skepticism, but together they worked hard to reform the territory and address its food shortages. Through hard work, pure grit, and a truly knightly dedication to the people, they were able to transform the barren landscape into what would, decades later, become known as the most fertile grounds in all of FĂłdlan."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No, but she does show "knightly dedication" to her people.
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes, though there are difficulties due to skepticism from the common folk, Ingrid and Byleth were able to turn Galatea land from barren to fertile.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Byleth, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: ehhh⊠Ingrid didn't become a Knight but she was able to help her people with Byleth. Plus Byleth does end up having somewhere to settle after the war. Although, it makes no mention of them battling against those who slither in the dark, you can only assume.
Ingrid and Byleth (Verdant Wind / Silver Snow)
"Byleth announced his marriage to Ingrid shortly after becoming leader of the United Kingdom of FĂłdlan. Together they made great strides toward restoring FĂłdlan to its former glory and beyond. Though Ingrid contributed to the court in her position as queen, she also famously guarded her king in a physical capacity. Most well-known is how the "Warrior Queen" drew her own weapon to repel an assassin's blade meant for her husband, a tale which lived on in chivalric storybooks for generations."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: In a way, I mean this almost the same as the Azure Moon route. The difference is that instead of a Knight, she's a "Warrior Queen" which is close enough. She still became a legend in the storybooks she loved reading.
Is she able to help her land and House?: It doesn't say but think about it, as a queen she might be able to help her family and lands.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (Again, 'Warrior Queen' can be close enough, and as Queen she might be able to help her family and lands.)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Byleth, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both. Warrior Queen is a title fitting for Ingrid. She earned it. Her accomplishments aren't overshadowed by her husband. Instead she's an equal. Her tale is worthy of telling. Doesn't look like Byleth has any problems.
Ingrid and Dimitri
"After his coronation, Dimitri assumed the throne of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus and spent his life ruling justly over FĂłdlan. At his side every step of the way was Ingrid, who left House Galatea to serve House Blaiddyd as a knight. As they worked together to restore the Kingdom, the pair fell in love and were eventually married. But while Ingrid was happy to play the role of queen, and to support her husband in public and in private, she insisted on taking up a weapon and serving on the front lines in battle."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes, and it doesn't look like she gave up on it when she became Queen.
Is she able to help her land and House?: It doesn't say but remember She became Queen of Faerghus, one of the highest titles there is, so she might be able to help House Galatea because of it.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (Yes, she became a Knight. But is she able to help her House? She became Queen of Faerghus in this ending, so it's possible)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Dimitri, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both. Ingrid became a Knight first and later a Queen while still retaining her combat prowess. A Knightly Queen (not her official title). It doesn't look like Dimitri has any problems here either.
Ingrid and Claude
"Entrusting the future of FĂłdlan to his friends, Claude left for Almyra with Ingrid, whom he intended to marry. He announced this fact to his father, the king of Almyra, who approved of Claude's strength and Ingrid's virtue and resolved to entrust the monarchy to them. Even after they ascended the throne, Claude and Ingrid argued frequently. But while the queen chasing the fleeing king through the palace was a common occurrence, the couple must have loved one another deeply, for they happily raised many children together."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: ehh, not a Knight⊠but remember, The people of Almyra embrace a warrior culture, and Ingrid gets to be the Queen of that kingdom. Is it close enough?
Is she able to help her land and House?: Again, it depends on the political perspective. Would a marriage to the Prince of Almyra (later King) be useful to House Galatea and their lands?
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (While not a knight, she gets to be Queen of a Kingdom that embraces warrior culture. As for helping the County of Galatea, it depends on the political perspective.)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Claude, both, or neither?: I think it's both. I mean they do bicker but there are couples that can bicker a lot. Plus, this relationship could be a nod to Claude's parents' relationship. Plus, Claude marrying someone from Fodlan could increase friendly relations between Fodlan and Almyra.
Ingrid and Dedue
"After the war, Dedue and Ingrid both served as protectors to the newly crowned King Dimitri: the former as his loyal vassal, and the latter as a knight sworn to House Blaiddyd. The pair fought side by side on countless occasions, and were known to be inseparable on the battlefield. Tales of the taciturn vassal and the steadfast lady knight were told by bards all throughout FĂłdlan, and it is said that their friendship helped spark the reconciliation between the peoples of Faerghus and Duscur."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes, it's mentioned she became a Knight sworn to House Blaiddyd
Is she able to help her land and House?: The ending makes no mention of her house but I guess it assumed she abandoned her claim to House Galatea, because of her other endings.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Dedue, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both, because not only do both Ingrid (achieving her dream to be a Knight) and Dedue work together as protectors to Dimitri. But their friendship helped the peoples of Faerghus and Duscur reconcile. She gained character growth too, overcoming her prejudice.
Ingrid and Felix (Azure Moon)
"After the war, Felix inherited the title of Duke Fraldarius from his late father, Rodrigue. He married Ingrid, the daughter of Count Galatea, and the couple spared no expense in restoring both their territories, paying special attention to Galatea's desperate need for food and funds. Some years later, there was an attack on the castle town, and the duke lost the use of his sword arm from an injury sustained protecting his wife. It is said that he never regretted it, as he was only fulfilling a promise that he made to his beloved wife a long time ago."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: It doesn't say that she did become a Knight, you can assume but I feel it needs to be said. Kinda feels like she's overshadowed by Felix. Although, it said that there was an attack on the castle town and Felix lost the use of his sword arm defending his wife, so we can assume Ingrid fought alongside Felix.
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes, because it's mentioned that both Felix and Ingrid pay special attention to Galatea's desperate need for food and funds.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (It doesn't say, You can only assume she became a Knight. It's mentioned she did help Galatea)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Felix, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: ehh⊠while Ingrid does manage to help her family, there's no mention of her being a Knight, I know we can only assume but⊠yeah. At least, Felix grew up here. He doesn't seem to want to run away from his title.
Ingrid and Felix (Other routes)
"Even after the war's end, skirmishes continued to break out across FĂłdlan. Learning that there were still places where he could fight, Felix abandoned his noble title and chose to make a living with his sword. Unwilling to leave him to travel alone, Ingrid, too, relinquished her claim to nobility, and they both became wandering mercenaries. They skirted the line between life and death countless times in their dangerous work, but once they had a child, they settled down in a small farming village far from their homeland. With all but each other left behind, they began a warm and tranquil life as a family."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No. I don't think being a Mercenary counts as being a Knight.
Is she able to help her land and House?: No, because in this ending she abandoned it.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Felix, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Felix abandoned his title so he can be free wandering the world looking for combat while Ingrid has to give up everything to make sure he doesn't get killed. It definitely is not a good ending but the last bit where they settle down after having a child does seem better than dying one day in battle.
Ingrid and Ashe (Azure Moon)
"When the new king was crowned in Faerghus, both Ashe and Ingrid left their homes to travel to Fhirdiad and pledge themselves to the royal family as knights. They each swore to defend the king, come what may, no matter the cost, and to that end they fought side by side in many battles together. They were both praised for their endless devotion and boundless courage, and their names went down in history as peerless knights. Many tales were told of their valor, and how they became indispensable to each other over the years. A handful of those stories went so far as to suggest that they fell in love and became husband and wife, but this may have been an embellishment."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes, and she gets to be known in the tales she loves so much.
Is she able to help her land and House?: It doesn't say, but remember although Ashe isn't related to Lonato by blood, he and his siblings are adopted by him and since Lonato's biological son is dead, Ashe is technically his heir. House Gaspard is a minor noble family, would a marriage between Ingrid and Ashe be useful?
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (Achieve her dream? Yes. Help the County of Galatea? It depends if a marriage between Ingrid and Ashe would be useful.)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Ashe, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both, because Ingrid and Ashe dream of becoming a Knight. In this ending they both get their dream and work together as partners. They both get to be known in knightly tales they love so much.
Ingrid and Ashe (Other routes)
"When Galatea territory was seized, Ingrid argued strongly for the preservation of its borders. Her request was granted and she was appointed to rule, but because she had previously abandoned her noble house, she was not well accepted by the people at first. It was thanks to the help of Ashe, who arrived to serve House Galatea, that she was able to soften the view the people had toward her by restoring the territory and improving its agriculture. As Galatea's prosperity grew, so too did the love between Ingrid and Ashe. Their wedding ceremony was intended to be a simple one, but lavish blessings from the citizenry made it a lively event."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No, I mean you can assume but it doesn't say in this ending
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Ashe, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: While it doesn't say Ingrid became a Knight in this, Ashe arrives to be a Knight serving her House. You could say it's a happy ending for only Ashe.
Ingrid and Sylvain
"As Margrave Gautier, Sylvain devoted his life to improving relations with the people of Sreng. Under his leadership, nobles were persuaded that Relics and Crests were not necessary as they'd previously thought. Though he went down in history as an extraordinary lord, he could not have done so without the constant support and counsel of his wife, Ingrid, whose wisdom and tenacity ensured that the people would prosper. Sylvain was ever loyal to his beloved wife. The couple had many children, and while not one of them bore a Crest, they were all equally and wholeheartedly loved."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: I mean it doesn't say that she became a Knight. I know we can assume she is but I feel like the ending has to mention that she did. Right now it feels like she's overshadowed by Sylvain's accomplishments. It feels like it's a happy ending only for him but not Ingrid.
Is she able to help her land and House?: It doesn't say that she did but remember her marriage is vital for her family to gain needed resources, gain greater influence, and survive into the future. Sylvain is a noble. The status of Margrave is higher than a Count right? We can assume that because of their marriage, the County of Galatea gained needed resources.
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (Help her land? maybe due to both Sylvain and Ingrid's marriage. Become a knight? It doesn't say)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Sylvain, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: I mean, while both Ingrid and Sylvain's support are enjoyable, in their ending it feels like Sylvain's accomplishments overshadow Ingrid's accomplishments. Plus, again it hasn't mentioned she's a Knight. So I feel that their paired ending is happy for only Sylvain.
Ingrid and Raphael (Azure Moon)
"Raphael returned to his home town to serve his liege lord as a knight, and spent his spare time helping out at the inn that his grandfather and sister had opened during his time away. One day, Ingrid, who had abandoned her claim to House Galatea to serve as a knight to the royal family, arrived to persuade Raphael to join her. It did not take much convincing. From that day forward, they served together as partners, fighting together side by side to make their mark on the history of Faerghus."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes. It's said she served as a Knight to the Royal family.
Is she able to help her land and House?: No, it's said she abandoned her claim
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Raphael, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both, because Ingrid and Raphael dream of becoming a Knight. In this ending they both get their dream and work together as partners.
Ingrid and Raphael (Other routes)
"When Galatea territory was seized, Ingrid argued strongly for the preservation of its borders. Her request was granted, and she was appointed to rule. Soon after, Raphael traveled there to pledge his service to Ingrid. He initially signed on as a knight, but quickly discovered that his services were even more desperately needed by the land's farmers, and instead focused his efforts on helping Galatea improve its agriculture. Seeing him work side by side with the commonfolk, Ingrid became enamored with Raphael's character, and eventually asked for his hand in marriage. They held a modest but lively wedding, and the people happily gave their blessing to the union."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No, I mean you can assume but it doesn't say in this ending
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Raphael, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: While it doesn't say Ingrid became a Knight in this, Raphael arrives to be a Knight serving her House. Raphael helped the farmers, and improved Galatea agriculture. You can say that it's a happy ending for only Raphael but one of the things that stand out is that Ingrid PROPOSED to him, despite her saying she has no intention to marry in her A-Support with Raphael.
Ingrid and Ignatz (Azure Moon)
"Ingrid declined to rule House Galatea, choosing instead to serve House Blaiddyd as a knight. Some years later, she was reunited by chance with Ignatz, who had persuaded his family that he should become a painter and traveled all through FĂłdlan painting beautiful landscapes. Ignatz decided to paint Ingrid that day, and spent much of the rest of his career working to get her likeness just right. There were many depictions of her bravery in battle, of course, but later generations would most fondly remember the way he captured her smile, which was widely believed to be that of a loving wife."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes
Is she able to help her land and House?: ??? (I know normally people would say no since Ignatz is a commoner, but remember Ignatz is from a merchant family and we don't know how wealthy they are, or how successful the Victor Trading Company is, or how desperate the Galatea are in regards to who they want Ingrid to marry.)
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: ??? (Become a knight? Yes. Help the County of Galatea? I mean, again although Ignatz is a commoner it depends on how successful the Victor Trading Company is, or how wealthy they are, or how desperate her family is. Plus it's said Ingrid declined to rule, so if she married Ignatz, would Galatea still get benefits? Plus in this ending, their marriage is a theory)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Ignatz, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both, Ingrid and Ignatz achieved their own dreams and while it doesn't say Ingrid became known in knightly tales she loved so much. Ignatz basically showed her story through his paintings. (I do wish that they both talked about their family troubles in their supports, seemed like a missed opportunity)
Ingrid and Ignatz (Other routes)
"When Galatea territory was seized, Ingrid argued strongly for the preservation of its borders. Her request was granted, and she was appointed to rule, but because she had previously abandoned her noble house, she was not well accepted by the people. It was thanks to Ignatz that the mood of the people finally softened. He showed them, through his artwork, a side of Ingrid that they had not yet seen: her valor and bravery, fighting in defense of FĂłdlan. The people were moved, first by the artwork itself, and later by the woman who had inspired it. As time passed, and the region prospered, Ingrid and Ignatz bonded over their reunion. They fell in love and eventually were wed."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No?
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No? (Read the next paragraph)
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Ignatz, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Ingrid didn't become a Knight in this but Ignatz became a painter. He did manage to change the people of Galatea's views of Ingrid thanks to his paintings. While Ingrid didn't become known in knightly tales since she didn't become a Knight. Ignatz basically showed her story through his paintings.
Ingrid and Seteth (Azure Moon)
"Ingrid declined to rule House Galatea, choosing instead to serve House Blaiddyd as a knight. As Faerghus worked with the Church of Seiros to advance policy, Ingrid served as an envoy between the two. In this capacity, she met routinely with Seteth, whose complete trust in Ingrid resulted in fruitful negotiations. Together, Faerghus and the church coordinated extensive relief efforts to return prosperity to FĂłdlan. After they had accomplished what they set out to do, it is said that Ingrid and Seteth settled down together in a small village, where they spent their days in peace, farming and fishing."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes
Is she able to help her land and House?: No
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Seteth, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both, Ingrid was able to become a Knight and was able to retire with a partner. Both were able to bring prosperity to Fodlan thanks to their diplomacy.
Ingrid and Yuri (Azure Moon)
"Yuri disappeared into the underworld of the western Kingdom and faded away into obscurity. The only account of him after that comes from a Kingdom knightâs journal, uncovered many decades later, which tells of Yuriâs efforts to win the kingâs support for an orphanage and medical clinic to be built in the slums of the castle town. It is believed that the journal belonged to Ingrid, who had declined to rule House Galatea in order to serve House Blaiddyd as a knight. According to a local rumor, Ingrid eventually retired from knighthood to become the owner of an inn. There, it is said she and the man she wrote about cooked dishes loved by rich and poor alike."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: Yes
Is she able to help her land and House?: No
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Yuri, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Both. Not only does Ingrid become a Knight but after her retirement she's still knightly (helping those in need). Yuri still helps the less fortunate. They're partners.
Ingrid and Yuri (Other Routes)
"When Galatea territory was seized, Ingrid argued strongly for the preservation of its borders. Her request was granted and she was appointed to rule. Though, since she had previously abandoned her noble house, she was not well accepted by the people. Despite this, she found that the commonfolk carried out her policies with unexpected enthusiam and efficiency. She soon discovered that it was Yuri who had convinced them of her wisdom. The two were reunited and eventually married, and under their stewardship, Galatea territory flourished, It is said that, after a busy day of governance, Ingrid yearned for nothing more than a home-cooked meal prepared by her husband."
Does she achieve her dream in this ending?: No
Is she able to help her land and House?: Yes
Is she able to achieve her dream AND help her land/House?: No
Is it a happy ending for only Ingrid, only Yuri, both, neither, or ehhh⊠(like it's too complicated to decide)?: Ingrid didn't become a Knight and received difficulty at first from her people. But Yuri managed to help by changing their minds and made life easier for them alongside Ingrid.
Should Ingrid follow her dreams? Should she do her family duties instead? Or both? If both, then which of these endings do you think has her have the best of both worlds (being a Knight while at the same time doing her family duties)? Which of these endings is her most happy endings (you can choose more than one)? What do you rank these endings? You can even discuss Ingrid's supports in comment.

VOTE INGRID BRANDL GALATEA
Background
She's a girl from a small noble house that's been declining in power. Ingrid grew up as one of many kids in House Galatea but she's the only one who was born with special blood called the Crest of Daphnel. Because of that, Ingrid grew up carrying the weight of continuing her family's bloodline and bringing power and sustainability back to their land. Ingrid was engaged at birth to a noble boy from a powerful territory. This wasn't an issue to Ingrid as the two were close friends but this all fell apart when the King was assassinated and Ingrid's fiance died in the conflict. Ingrid is sent to the Officers Academy alongside some surviving childhood friends as well as a student who comes from the town her fiance was assassinated in.
Story
Initially Ingrid holds a grudge against him but if the player has them spend time together and talk Ingrid will apologize to him for what happened. Lots of people see Ingrid's childhood grudge and take it as she's a racist character but she's really not! She's a young girl with childhood trauma that grew up in a very propaganda-heavy society. Her father is one of the only nobles that won't force their child into an arranged marriage, even if it'll save her family. The Kingdom enforces a very toxic idea of chivalry that Ingrid has been rolled into since birth and by playing with her in the game you get to see Ingrid move past it and become better! She's just a teenage girl who loves knightly stories and doesn't understand make-up but in-battle she's powerful and dedicated. The game offers the player a chance to marry her in the end and if they do get married they end up either changing her family's land into the 'most fertile grounds' in the nation or she becomes the "Warrior Queen" and serves as both a soldier and a leader!
Vote Ingrid, the Stalwart Knight of Faergus!

After Felix, Ingrid should have been the first person Gwenn approached after arriving at the monastery. Instead, the Goddess had thrown Felix, Dimitri, and Sylvain at her first, leaving the woman who may or may not have still been her betrothed for the last out of those closest to the swordswoman. As expected, Gwenn found Ingrid in the stables, and discovered herself more worried than she had about anything else since realizing she was alive after the nightmare that was Duscur. Somehow she kept her expression neutral, resisting the urge to tug at the end of her own braid anxiously, gloved hands clasped behind her back out of habit. Her voice was steadier than she felt when she spoke, and was only slightly pitched up, not wanting to discomfit the blonde more than she likely already did.
âIngrid, might I... have a moment of your time?â

đ€ "Sylvain." Ingrid is almost glowering at him, her arms crossed in irritation. She had heard that a particular someone was back at his usual antics, and had to see for herself. The scene was no surprise, but his true intentions remained unbeknownst to her, and she was quick to conclude that he is indeed, aiming to flirt. She was not going to allow this. "What do you think you're doing?"
Free Hugs! - No longer accepting
He should have seen this coming from so many miles away. Expected as it is though, he canât say that having one of his oldest friendâs expect the worst of him doesnât hurt. Still, itâs not like her accusation in unwarranted, it definitely looks like the kind of tactic he would employ.
But... Well. After Setyâs praise, it still stings a bit.
Not that any of that shows on his face, Sylvain is just as predictable as Ingrid, where she is suspicion and disapproval, heâs all smiles and amused laughter.
âUh, excuse you. Iâm helping!â He cries, feigning offence, easily done when itâs mostly real and lightened with a chuckle. âYou saw all the notes, right? People are damned sad, Ingrid. Iâm just giving them a hug to make them feel better! No ulterior motives, promise!â
She probably still doesnât believe him, which just means he has to up the ante a little, âLook, lemme prove it!â He sets his sign down, crossing the space between them with a couple of strides and envelopes her in a hug. He doesnât disillusion himself with thinking that she might hug back, and her crossed arms do make it slightly uncomfortable, but heâs on a mission and heâll be damned if he fails.
âTheeeere, see?â he chuckles, dragging his words out. âThis is all Iâm doing, and I havenât asked a single person for a date.â Still grinning, he eventually lets go, stepping back to pick up his sign before she can punch him in the gut. âAnd if you still donât believe me, then just wait for one of those âmessesâ Iâve made from this that youâll have to clean up. I guarantee there wonât be a single one.â
#asks#meme#Free Hugs! ghjfkdhgjk every reason to be suspicious Ingrid!#don't blame you one bit!#but he's been a good boy!#promise!#for the one (1) time in his life#Thanks for sending! <3#stalwart-knight

Leave it to save it
Just thinking about how Ingrid has to turn aside from the path of a knight to do the most good for Faerghus.
It turns out Ingrid had the potential to reshape the future of her country, yet because she pigeonholed herself into the role of a knight of Faerghus she denied her own talents and what she could bring forth.
Crimson Flower is even more blatant about this!
Non-CF: Just Bylethâs bodyguard and advisor.
CF: Helps Byleth to literally turn Galatea territory, previously useless barren, into a goddamn breadbasket. This is especially poignant given Hopes revealed Rhea knew agricultural methods that could have turned Faerghusâs fortunes and just... never could be arsed to share it for a few centuries. She was getting around to it!
âEveryone is miserable in CFâ, indeed.

Fire Emblem: Four Houses: sorting Hat Time
After enduring all the harry potter jokes we might as well do this
Holy Kingdom of Faerghus:Â
Dimitri: Gryffindor (All about defending (or avenging) the weak, chronic do-gooder)
Dedue: Gryffindor, but could also be Hufflepuff. (As Ingrid puts it heâs ironically actually very knightly)
Ashe: Hufflepuff (Obvious)
Ingrid: Gryffindor (Obvious)
Anette: Ravenclaw, could also be a Hufflepuff (Obvious)
Felix: Slytherin, but could also be Gryffindor (Seeks strenght and skill above almost all else)
Sylvain: Gryffindor (Ultimately values having fun, friendship and heroism for all that heâs more jaded and cynical than he looks, constantly jumps in front of his friends to protect them)
Mercedes: Hufflepuff (Obvious. )
Gilbert: Gryffindor (A âfailedâ one of sorts)
Rodrigue: Gryffindor (Obvious)
Adrestian Empire:
Edelgard: Gryffindor. (Largely because âbold, daring and altruisticâ. She has smarts, pragmatic ambitions and equality-mindedness to spare, but in the end sheâs too action-oriented for ravenclaw, not chill enough for hufflepuff and dreams too much of peaceful ordinary life to be a Slytherin)
Hubert: Slytherin. (Obvious)
Caspar: Gryffindor (Just listen to how he responds to the Flayn situation)
Linhardt: Ravenclaw (Obvious)
Bernadetta: Gryffindor; (Basically same as Neville Longbottom. Though easily scared because of her backstory she still doesnât back down from fighting a war, particularly if she sticks with the empire she ends up either dying because she took a dangerous decoy mission at gronder, or, in CF, eventually decides to travel Fodlan by herself and ends up a total badass in her endings with Hubert or Byleth )
Dorothea: Hufflepuff (Doesnât like fighting or stuck up elitist people)
Ferdinand: Gryffindor (He casually sneaks into an enemy fortress to get Mercedesâ phony adoption papers. What could be more Gryffindor than that? )
Petra: Gryffindor (Consistently brave, stalwart and principled)
Ladislava:Â Ravenclaw or Gryffindor (brave and badass from humble background but also called a genius)
Randolph: Hufflepuff (clear enough)
The Death Knight: Slytherin (Obvious)
Leicester Alliance:Â
Claude: Ravenclaw, could also be Hufflepuff. (Obviously smart and quirky but also values equality and togetherness. He sees ppl as small in the great sheme of things and doesnât really have an edge compared to the other two lords, so I donât think heâs Slytherin material at all. He#s got ambitions but he doesnât boldly declare them and needs Bylethâs support to really think he can win)
Hilda:Â Hufflepuff (has the cunning to be Slytherin but her values are firmly in âlive and let live, ppl on the sidelines cunt tooâ territory)
Lorenz: Slytherin (old fashioned, political ambitions, wants to go down in history, acts out of self-preservatin)
Raphael: Hufflepuff (Obvious)
Marianne: Ravenclaw (loner, ends up advising her partner with her great insight in most her paired endings)
Lysithea: Ravenclaw, could also be a Slytherin (Obvious)
Ignatz: Hufflepuff, could also be ravenclaw (nice, considerate, not very assertive)
Leonie: Slytherin (competitive, wants to be a famous fighter, looks out for own interests, not above pragmatic tactics like traps)
Judith: Gryffindor (classic badass hero)
Church of Seiros:
Rhea: hard, but...probably Hufflepuff? âcause her motivations are ultimately very personal and her one redeeming feature is that she helps, protects and doesnât act uppity towards the poor, like that time she didnât mind getting her fancy robes dirty to heal a younger Catherine.Â
Byleth: Gryffindor (brave, sassy, goes out of their way to help people)
Manuela: Hufflepuff (Though smarter than she looks, sheâs mostly concerned with everyday stuff, compassionate caretaker/doctor)
Hanneman: Ravenclaw (Obvious)
Seteth: Ravenclaw (Reasonable and secretly creative)
Flayn: Hufflepuff (Pacifistic; Wants nothing more than friends)
Cyril: Hufflepuff (Hard working dilligent and non-ambitious)
Catherine: Gryffindor (Obvious)
Shamir: Slytherin (Because sheâs more self-preservation driven/ âworks to get paidâ)
Alois:Â Hufflepuff (Obvious)
Jeralt: Gryffindor (Heroic and noted to be kinda reckless)

Bearing Arms (Ingrid & Takumi)
@stalwart-knight
Now this was more Takumi's style, in terms of missions. None of this crazy 'go kill a giant demonic turtle and don't come back until it's dead', none of that at all. Just a nice simple need for students to go hunting and bring back some meat. Takumi didn't like to brag (of course he liked to brag), but he was a great hunter... Brigid didn't count; the game there was just not what he was used to. He was certain whatever the monastery had planned would be a piece of cake.
Though he was itching to try out his brand new bow he had gotten out of that crazy mission, he decided to just take the simple iron yumi he had gotten from the monastery. He was gonna be fine out there, just an innocent little hunt.
But what if you failed miserably?
Suddenly, another one of those damned headaches came to him. Why? He was going to have fun and go hunt... and here he was, suddenly with a splitting pain in his head as he walked out to the grounds and having these thoughts that told him the truth of who he really was. Get out of my head... Get out of my head, he kept muttering to himself. He needed an escape... Anything.
Out of the corner of his eye, a long braid full of blonde hair. Takumi remembered that woman... Ingrid, right? From his house... he remembered seeing her here and there. Pretty dedicated to her training from what he could see, so perhaps she might make a decent hunting partner... if he was by himself, he'd just go crazy with his thoughts. Trying to push through the aching pain in his head, he walked over to the woman, getting her attention. "Hey," he called out. "You're Ingrid, aren't you?... I'm Takumi, prince of Hoshido... and I was hoping you would lend me a hand with hunting today?"
...No. Too stiff. Add something else, now it just sounds like you're obligated or something. "I was also hoping we could get to know each other a little more. As... you know... er... same house." That... sounded pretty awkward, but kinda genuine, at least. Takumi knew he was pretty prickly, but he had made a decent amount of friends here... what was the harm in getting to know a couple more?
#ic#thread: bearing arms#support: ingrid#i'm so sorry ingrid you get takumi being awkward as hell#then he's gonna yell#do it for the meat

strength in honor, strength in death âââ the words of house fraldarius
THE ANCIENT HOUSE OF FRALDARIUS spans much of society as we know it today, deriving from Fraldarius, the brave and noble Griffon Knight who fought alongside Seiros and the Four Saints and became one of the Ten Elite. Through this line passes the Crest of Fraldarius which imbues its line with enhance strength, speed, and mastery with near every weapon known to man.
This lineage is expansive and sprawling and has its branches throughout all of Faerghus and beyond, but its roots are settled in the northern part of Faergus, in the frigid north along the coast of the country and beyond. The members of this family traditionally swear their fealty to the crown and its monarch, swearing to serve above all else, with honor and dignity to uphold chivalry. Most frequently the members of this family become knights, or otherwise advisers to the ruling monarch in their later years.
Tracking the line of this family through history proves quite simple, in fact, given that theyâre recorded forevermore in history and the core family line in these modern days consists of ââââ well, you know, donât you? Shall we begin? No, donât grab that book if The Ancient Lineages of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus. What I will tell you goes beyond simply names and dates of birth and dates of death. Now, listen closely.
RODRIGUE ACHILLE OF HOUSE FRALDARIUS, minor crestbearer of Fraldarius, Shield of Faerghus, son of Raphael and Valentina of house Fraldarius, is the most recent head of the Fraldarius household. He was raised as all children of the Fraldarius line are : to swear his loyalty and fealty to the king and its sovereign. And that he did, and that he excelled at, becoming the Shield of Faerghus along the way. Stringent and stalwart and loyal to the last, Rodrigue is hardly the sort to win any great father of the year awards âââ no need for the surprise, I did tell you that this would be beyond what a book could tell you âââ as heâs far too devoted to the crown above all else and, as his forefathers before him, enforced his upbringing heavily upon his sons, but he is devout in the following of the rightful ruler of Faerghus and swears his shield to whomever is meant to sit on the throne and whomever sits on the throne, still. A close companion of the late King Lambert, itâs said that when he got news of the death of his closest friend, his eldest son, and his beloved wife his scream of grief echoed so loudly throughout the Fraldarius estate that it resonates, still. Following their deaths, itâs thought that he removed all paintings of his beautiful late wife out of grief, and that he kept only the one of his eldest sonâs knighting ceremony hanging. A reminder, above all else. In the years which followed he became far more steadfast in his defense and service to the crown, something believed to be impossible by passersby, and his relationship with his youngest son is strained as a result of their losses. For as immovable and argumentative and temperamental as he can be, there still lies love for his youngest son, for all that he raised him, both consciously and subconsciously, to become the next Shield of Faerghus. In theory, of course, and in practice he simply wanted his youngest son to thrive in the society that they lived in.
GENEVA LUCIANA OF HOUSE FRALDARIUS, PREVIOUSLY HALLEWELL, non-crestbearer, Lorelei of Faerghus, daughter of Augustus and Serpahina of house Hallewell, is the late wife of Rodrigue of house Fraldarius. Legend has it that they fell in love with each other at first sight, when he attended one of the shows of the famed Lorelei of Faerghus and became enchanted with her singing, and she had seen him from where she stood on stage and began to sing for him and only him. The reality is hardly so glorious to consider, but it was a whirlwind and genuine romance that ended in them marrying hardly two months after they met. Hailed as a great opera singer, Geneva was born into nobility and married into nobility and was thought to be a true beauty, from her face to the dark fall of her thick straight hair to the clarity of her voice. A truly kind and genuine woman, it is thought that she softened the hard edges of the Shield of Faerghus and that they balanced each other beautifully. A wonderful mother, she brought her two sons into the world and loved them devotedly and deeply and, yet another result of being born and raised in such a society, showed great pride in their successes and endeavors and that they would one day serve the crown well. She is a woman loyal to her family above all else, and the crown second, yet the family that she married into held both so closely together that it seemed to be a fated match above all else. She spent far more time with her youngest as a matter of course, but loved them both boundlessly and absolutely. Alas, disaster struck and she perished in the Tragedy of Duscur when she had been requested, kindly and sweetly, by the late King Lambert to accompany them and offer them her bracing voice. It is not said, for all those but the Crown Prince died, but in her last moments she wept for her sons, for her eldest stood fighting still, and her youngest awaited her at home. Her final resting place is in her home, alongside her eldest son.
GLENN ALDEN OF HOUSE FRALDARIUS, minor crestbearer of Fraldarius, heir to house Fraldarius, son of Rodrigue and Geneva of house Fraldarius, is the late first son of Rodrigue of house Fraldarius. Born into this world the heir of his family above all else he was taught that in duty there laid chivalry and sacrifice and that he would give himself to the realm and its people and to the crown above all else, while remaining above all else the heir and head of the Fraldarius household. To this day the household speaks of the chivalrous and charming Glenn, who inspired loyalty and love in all those he spoke to, in spite of his sarcasm and wit and aggressive nature. Charming to the last, he was a good son and a good brother and a good knight, excelling during his time at Garreg Mach Monastery and becoming knighted at the tender age of 15. He loved the youngest son of his family deeply and extensively despite the small amount of jealousy that he felt towards the major crest that he bore, and loved his fiancĂ© from birth, Ingrid Brandl Galatea, in no small measure. He hoped to marry her as soon as possible and to take his rightful place in this world and to provide great challenges for his brother, who he knew would surpass him one day. What a future he would have had, if it werenât for his untimely and tragic demise at the Tragedy of Duscur where he, boy in manâs armor, fought valiantly against those who sought to destroy the crown. His final moments were witnessed by the surviving Crown Prince, where he yearned to see his brother and father once more. Itâs thought that the final blow was dealt when he realized his motherâs death, and grieved her terribly. Yet, he died a knightâs death, didnât he? Didnât he? His surviving legacy is that heâs the image of a TRUE KNIGHT at his core, and his final resting place is in his home, alongside his mother.
FELIX HUGO OF HOUSE FRALDARIUS, major crestbearer of Fraldarius, heir to house Fraldarius, son of Rodrigue and Geneva of house Fraldarius âââ well. You know this story already, donât you? I hardly need to bore you with the details. But donât you think it strange, this break from the mold, this denial of their very name? How he, the youngest son, the prodigal son, all but forgot his mother in the time after her death, memories blocked in an attempt to protect himself? After all, her name was never spoken in those walls again. Until he remembers, of course. Until he remembers her and her beauty and his brother in truth and in light and his father, for who he truly is : loyal and steadfast to a fault. And yet he stands, in opposition to this servitude to the crown, but he, too, is loyal to the end. Strange, how that happens.

Just some more Claude/Ingrid lamentations
Art of knights carrying princesses has existed almost as long as the concept of a knight carrying a princess. But we donât got any art of stalwart, knightly Ingrid princess-carrying a grinning, kinda embarrassed Prince Claude? Sheâs tough enough to chase him all over their palace, donât tell me sheâs not strong enough to sweep him off his feet and haul him wherever they wanted to go.Â

[ ooc. already kinda did but i'm obligated soooooo fingerguns ] đ
((ooc: All of the childhood friend squad in my inbox at once? The stars aligned, I couldnât not capitalise. I already had the idea for when Felix enabled me landed in my inbox but then had the big brain moment of including @stalwart-knight and @princeblaiddyd and it would not leave me))
Sylvain should have known that his plan to hang around the entrance to the Blue Lions classroom with mistletoe hanging above the doorway would come back to bite him in the ass eventually. It was never a matter of if, but when.
All things considered, it was impressive that he lasted even this long. A few of the girls heâd swept into kisses had looked disgruntled, but most just giggled. He was pretty amazed he hadnât earned a slap yet.
The problem, he thought, was that heâd gotten complacent. His movements became automatic, an arm circling around a waist, a murmured âhey you, happy Yuleâ and a kiss on lips or a cheek had become too easy. As such, he stopped paying attention.
This time, his arm goes around them higher up, purring a warm âCâmere, sweet thing.â as he tugs them close and plants a kiss at the corner of their mouth. Belatedly, much too late, he realises what he just did, and once again fears for his life.
Thatâs⊠Felix. Oh fuck. Oh fuck he kissed Felix.
Sylvainâs heart hammers to a stop in his chest, which he chalks up to the fact that heâs probably about to die and not whatever the hell the weird fluttering that happens in his stomach whenever his friend is nearby lately. He needs to fix this, somehow. But how the hell does he brush this off as a joke? He should start by moving his arm away, but heâs kind of frozen and doesnât know how to-
There! Heâs only just noticed them, and any other time heâd rather die of embarrassment than know that Ingrid and Dimitri had witnessed the entire scene, but maybe, just maybe, he could pull this off. He peels himself away from Felix at the speed of a man who knows his life depends on it, marches over to Ingrid, his voice much too wobbly when he declares, âYou too, come here darling,â and takes her face between his hands, kissing her soundly upon the lips.
Once heâs certain sheâs out for his head too, Sylvain pulls away from Ingrid to slide over to Dimitriâs side, throwing an arm over his shoulders, âAnd one for our sweet prince as well! No one gets left out!â Despite it all, Sylvain cannot bring himself to kiss royalty upon the lips, so he places a big wet and noisy one on Dimitriâs cheek.
He doesnât linger to see the look upon their faces, quickly making an excuse about returning a book to the library before dashing away. With a little luck, his friends will be too busy arguing over who gets to kill him first to give him a healthy head start.Â
Sylvain absolutely does not spend the minutes he gains thinking about how Felixâs skin had felt under his lips, rather than how heâs about to meet his end.
