Study a bible verse with me 🤍
John 12:24 (NLT) says:
“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives.”
• Through scripture, Jesus uses the metaphor of a grain of wheat to illustrate a deeper spiritual truth. In agriculture, a single grain of wheat must be buried in the soil to grow into a plant. So technically, it’s “death” is essential for new growth and multiplication.
• The "death" of the kernel symbolizes the necessary sacrifice and transformation required for new life. For Jesus, this metaphor directly points to His impending crucifixion. His physical death is essential for the spiritual renewal and salvation of humanity. Just as the seed must die to bring forth new life, Jesus must undergo His death to bring about the promise of eternal life.
• This verse emphasizes that Jesus’ sacrificial death will not be in vain but will result in a "plentiful harvest of new lives." This indicates that His death will lead to the growth of many new believers and the establishment of a new spiritual reality. The “new kernels” represent the new lives and believers that will emerge from His sacrificial act.
• This principle extends beyond Jesus’ own death. It serves as a broader teaching on discipleship and sacrifice. As followers of Christ, we are also called to embrace the idea that personal sacrifice and self-denial are often necessary for spiritual growth and fruitful ministry. The idea is that through sacrifice, individuals can contribute to a greater spiritual harvest and the spread of God's Kingdom.
• The verse highlights a counterintuitive truth in the Kingdom of God: true success and growth often come through sacrifice and loss. This perspective challenges worldly views on success and encourages us to embrace sacrificial love and service as pathways to spiritual fruitfulness.
• In summary, John 12:24 uses the metaphor of a grain of wheat to show why Jesus’ death was necessary for a great spiritual harvest and crucial for our salvation. He died for our sins out of immense love, so we wouldn’t have to face death ourselves. His sacrifice leads to new spiritual life and growth, not only for Himself but also for those who follow Him and are called to live selflessly.
Have a blessed day 👼🏻🙏💕

Practical steps to help you grow in your faith. (via. ChatGPT)
1. Cultivate a Personal Relationship with Jesus
• Daily Prayer: Make time to pray each day. Share your thoughts, fears, and gratitude with Jesus as you would with a trusted friend. Remember to listen as well, seeking His guidance.
• Scripture Reading: Dive into God’s Word regularly. Start with the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) to understand Jesus’ life, teachings, and heart for humanity. Reflect on how His words apply to your life.
• Be Honest with Him: Jesus already knows your heart (as seen in John 2:24-25). Don’t hesitate to bring your doubts, struggles, or joys to Him.
2. Strengthen Your Foundation in Faith
• Study the Bible Deeply: Go beyond surface-level reading by studying the context, background, and meaning of passages. Use study guides or commentaries to gain deeper insight.
• Memorize Scripture: Commit key verses to memory. This will help you rely on God’s truth in challenging times. For example:
• Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
• Philippians 4:6-7: “Do not be anxious about anything…”
• Understand Theology: Explore the core beliefs of Christianity to deepen your understanding of God’s character and His plan for humanity.
3. Build a Life of Worship
• Worship Regularly: Worship isn’t just singing—it’s a lifestyle of honoring God in everything you do. Make time to express your love and gratitude to Him through worship, both privately and in a church community.
• Live for His Glory: Seek to glorify God in your daily actions—whether at work, in relationships, or in how you treat others.
4. Be Part of a Community of Faith
• Join a Church: Being part of a local church allows you to grow alongside others, receive support, and learn from experienced believers.
• Participate in Bible Studies or Small Groups: These provide opportunities to discuss scripture, share experiences, and gain accountability.
• Serve Others: Jesus modeled servanthood. Look for ways to serve in your church, community, or even your own home. Acts of service help us reflect God’s love to others.
5. Trust God in Difficult Seasons
• Life isn’t always easy, but faith grows strongest in trials. Surrender your struggles to Jesus, trusting that He will guide you and work all things for your good (Romans 8:28).
• Develop a habit of thanksgiving, even in tough times. Gratitude shifts your perspective and reminds you of God’s faithfulness.
6. Share Your Faith
• Tell others about Jesus—not just through words but also by living a life that reflects His love and grace. Let your actions speak of your relationship with Him.
• Pray for opportunities to share your testimony. Your story can inspire and draw others to Christ.
7. Pursue Continuous Growth
• Read Christian Books: Authors like C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity) or A.W. Tozer (The Pursuit of God) provide deep insights into faith and spiritual growth.
• Attend Workshops or Seminars: Look for events or conferences in your area focused on deepening your spiritual life.
• Embrace Discipline: Set spiritual goals, like fasting, journaling prayers, or taking quiet retreats to focus on your relationship with God.
8. Rely on the Holy Spirit
• The Holy Spirit helps us grow in faith and gives us the strength to live as followers of Christ. Pray for the Spirit’s guidance and empowerment in your daily life.
• Galatians 5:22-23 reminds us of the fruit the Spirit cultivates in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Reflective Questions to Deepen Your Faith:
1. Do I truly believe Jesus knows my heart and loves me unconditionally?
2. How can I make more room in my daily life for prayer and scripture reading?
3. Am I trusting God fully, or am I holding back in certain areas of my life?
4. How can I serve and encourage others in their faith journey?
Closing Encouragement:
Remember, growing in faith is a lifelong process. Don’t rush it or feel pressured to be “perfect.” God is patient and delights in every step you take toward Him. Trust in His love, seek Him wholeheartedly, and allow Him to transform you from the inside out.

Happy Restoration Day! Here is my Book of Mormon Testimony
Blessings everyone, I am @not-so-superheroine, and this is my testimony of the Book of Mormon.
I am a convert to the restoration. So the Book of Mormon was new to me. I had heard about it. I had held one before that I saw in the drawer of a Marriot hotel room, I didn’t open it until I took an interest in the Restoration.
At that time, I was sort of agnostic. I grew up in a mainline protestant denomination but had grown disillusioned. I was introduced to Mormonism through people who were deconstructing from the belief. Naturally, the first things I saw about it were debunking it’s location and historicity. But my mind was being opened to possibilities I hadn’t considered before. When I was younger, it didn’t make sense to me that there would be no more scripture from God. That the author of Revelations could say “that’s it.” for scripture, as I heard some argue. I wondered why God interacted so directly with those in ancient times and why such things wouldn’t occur with us now.
Eventually, I was curious enough to acquire a Book of Mormon. I was admittedly cautious. I knew what the book said about a “skin of Blackness” and how that had lead to mistreatment of Black and Indigenous persons in different parts of the Latter Day Saint Movement. I was also fairly certain it was a 19th century text. I knew neither of these things discounted the Book as scripture.
So I went into the scripture without the burden of historicity or author authenticity. Not to see if the book was “true”, but to seek after the truths within. I approached the text and I looked for the presence of God. I prayed and asked God to guide me in my reading of the scriptures. Millions before me found these precious truths and Divine Inspiration in this book and I thought perhaps, if i went in openly, I could find it myself.
And did I. And I am glad that I did.
The Book of Mormon provides further light on issues the Christian community was facing at the time. It seeks to heal and to unify. A theme throughout the scripture and the bringing forth of the Book of Mormon speaks of Continuing Revelation. The heavens were open then and are open now. From what I learned, there is no reason why God wouldn’t provide us further light or would limit who God delivers Divine knowledge too. In fact, I learned that God does just that. It’s just up to us to ask, listen, and discern.
The Book has also strengthened my relationship with my Creator. When I was a child, I thought deeply about, and questioned, the theology and doctrine I was taught in Sunday School. Sometimes this questioning was not always welcomed. I learned that for some, Ignorance is preferable to doubt. That doesn’t work for me. The Book of Mormon encourages me to be a diligent seeker. My time spent studying the Book of Mormon has been filled with questions. Questions without shame that I encourage to seek after God’s truth.
Much like Nephi, I Was desirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the Holy Ghost, which is the gift of God to all those who diligently seek him, as well in times of old as in the time that he should manifest himself to the children of men; for he is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
(more from 1 Nephi 3) 29 For he that diligently seeks shall find; 30and the mysteries of God shall be unfolded to him by the power of the Holy Ghost, as well in this time as in times of old; 31and as well in times of old as in times to come.
This scripture inspires me and shows me that God wants me to seek after God’s mysteries and the mysteries in the universe God created for us. That thought is absolutely liberating. We should not fear knowledge, God wants us to grow and understand. And my faith is stronger now with this understanding. Questioning and Seeking is needed for spiritual growth.
I find the Book of Mormon to be empowering in reminding me of my moral agency, encouraging me to grow my faith, and work with God to hone my Spiritual gifts to be used in service to the Divine and to my community. The Book of Mormon affirms the Living Christ, Christ’s love for all humankind, no matter where and who they are, and that people of all nations receive light from the Divine and are a part of God’s sacred story. And there is so much more. The Book of Mormon speaks to me about the effects of poverty and addressing wealth inequity. This matches with Christ’s mission to tend to the poor. The Book of Mormon goes into how we should live amongst each other and on building sacred community, on how to be Zion as a people. There are so many lessons packed in there that I believe God wants us to ponder on and to take action with. The Book of Mormon is responsible for changing the way I read and apply sacred scripture to my life. This has changed my life for the better and changed my life outlook. I see myself as an active part of God’s plan carrying out Christ’s mission.
I thank God for the Restoration
I thank God for continuing revelation and the Book of Mormon
And I thank God for my community, the people of Zion

Studying the Bible Effectively: A Beginner's Guide
Studying the Bible can seem daunting at first, but with the right approach and tools, it can allow so much spiritual growth!! Whether you're new to the faith or a seasoned believer, having a structured method can improve and ease your experience. Here's a straightforward guide to help you get started on your Bible study journey!
Choosing a Translation
One of the first decisions to make when studying the Bible is choosing a translation that suits your needs and preferences. There are several translations available, each with its own approach to translation. Here are the three categories they fall into.
1. Word for Word Translation: These translations, such as the King James Version (KJV) or English Standard Version (ESV), aim to follow the original texts as closely as possible, offering a literal rendering of the words and phrases. They are great for detailed study and analysis of the text.
2. Thought for Thought Translation: These translations prioritize clarity and readability, conveying the original meaning in modern language by updating language to be mor relevant to modern readers. They are ideal for easy comprehension, especially for beginners or those looking for a straightforward understanding.
3. Paraphrased Translation: These translations capture the essence or gist of the message rather than focusing on precise wording. They are often easier to understand and are suitable for new believers or younger children. However, they are most likely to stray from the original text and can sometimes be slightly inaccurate.
When I am reading to spend time with God (such as my daily reading) I use NLT, which is a thought for thought translation and therefore easier to understand. However, during bible study it is advisable to keep a word for word translation on hand (I use the KJV translation in the YouVersion bible app alongside a physical copy of the NLT).
Establishing a Study Routine
1. Prayer: Before sitting down to read, it's essential to prepare yourself spiritually and mentally. Begin your study session with a prayer, asking God to open your mind and heart to His word and guide you in your understanding.
2. Reading the Passage: Start by reading the passage without taking notes or annotating. Try to grasp the overall message and what God is communicating to you.
3. Annotation and Reflection: Read the passage again, this time making notes of any observations, questions, or insights that come to mind. Consider who is involved, what is happening, why, when, and how. Reflect on the message God is conveying through the text.
4. Consulting Study Tools: Dive deeper into the passage by using study tools such as Bible commentaries, online resources, or cross-referencing different translations. This helps gain a broader perspective and insight into the text. They often also include historical context and reasons for writing.
5. Application: Reflect on how the passage applies to your life. Identify one or two key messages and think about how you can incorporate them into your daily life. Is the scripture challenging you to change certain behaviours, draw closer to God, or strengthen your faith? Pray for guidance on how to apply these insights. Personally, I like to make an extra effort to apply these in the upcoming week.
Conclusion
Studying the Bible is not just about acquiring knowledge but also about cultivating a deeper relationship with God and living out His word in our lives. By choosing the right translation, establishing a study routine, and seeking guidance through prayer and study tools, you can embark on a fulfilling journey of spiritual growth and understanding. Remember, consistency and patience are key, so keep seeking God's wisdom as you delve into His word.

Christian Faith: A Journey of Belief, Hope, and Love

The concept of Christian faith is profoundly rooted in belief, hope, and an enduring commitment to love. This spiritual journey encourages individuals to trust in God’s plan, embracing both life’s triumphs and trials with a spirit of resilience. At its core, Christian faith is not just a religious expression but a personal relationship that shapes the heart, mind, and soul. Many who embark on this path find that faith provides purpose, peace, and strength in a world that often feels uncertain.
What is Christian Faith?
Christian faith can be seen as a foundational belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ, as conveyed through the Bible. It begins with the belief in God’s existence, His goodness, and His role as a loving Father. Yet, it extends beyond belief into trust, aligning one’s life with God’s promises and commands. Christian faith is often a journey of transformation, impacting a believer’s choices, relationships, and personal growth. Through faith, Christians are called to embody compassion, integrity, and humility—values that reflect Christ’s example.
The Foundation of Christian Faith
At the heart of Christian faith lies the belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Saviour who redeemed humanity through His death and resurrection. This belief forms the cornerstone of Christianity, inspiring followers to surrender their lives to God. The teachings of the Bible reinforce these foundations, inviting believers to live with a sense of purpose. The Bible serves as a guide, showing how to handle life’s challenges with grace, patience, and hope—a path only made possible through a deep-seated Christian faith.
Living Out Christian Faith Daily
Living out Christian faith means allowing one’s beliefs to influence actions, decisions, and interactions with others. For many, this translates into daily prayer, reflection, and engaging with Scripture to seek God’s wisdom. In practice, Christian faith often requires the courage to love, forgive, and be patient, even when circumstances are difficult. Christians are encouraged to live with kindness and generosity, seeing others through God’s eyes. By following these principles, Christian faith becomes a way of life that encourages love, peace, and understanding.
The Role of Prayer in Christian Faith
Prayer is central to Christian faith, serving as a way to communicate with God and seek His guidance. For many, prayer provides solace and strength, especially in times of hardship. In moments of uncertainty, believers turn to prayer to find reassurance, believing that God listens and cares deeply. This personal connection with God helps to reinforce Christian faith, making it more than just an abstract belief. Through prayer, Christians seek divine wisdom, giving them clarity and purpose in every decision.
Christian Faith and Community
Christian faith is often strengthened within the community, where believers come together to worship, share, and support one another. Church services, Bible studies, and fellowship gatherings allow Christians to grow in their faith alongside others. These communal settings offer encouragement and accountability, fostering a deeper connection to God and one another. In a world that can sometimes feel isolating, Christian faith provides a community of like-minded individuals who strive to embody love, compassion, and unity.
Christian Faith in Times of Suffering
One of the profound aspects of Christian faith is its ability to provide comfort in times of suffering. Many believers find that, during trials, their faith grows stronger, offering a refuge that sustains them through hardship. The belief that God is present, even in pain, is a pillar of Christian faith. This faith reminds Christians that suffering is not meaningless but rather a part of life that can bring growth, resilience, and a closer relationship with God. For those going through difficult times, Christian faith offers a source of hope, knowing that God walks alongside them.
The Role of Faith in Forgiveness
Forgiveness is a key principle of Christian faith, encouraging individuals to let go of resentment and show mercy to others. Inspired by Christ’s own forgiveness, Christians are called to extend grace, even when it is difficult. This aspect of Christian faith can be transformative, freeing believers from bitterness and bringing peace to their hearts. Forgiveness is not just a moral duty; it is a reflection of the grace that God offers to humanity. By choosing forgiveness, Christians live out their faith, demonstrating love and compassion in their interactions with others.
Building a Life of Purpose Through Christian Faith
Christian faith inspires believers to pursue a life filled with purpose, aligned with God’s will. Whether through serving others, spreading kindness, or living with integrity, faith calls individuals to make a difference. Many Christians feel that their lives are meaningful when they contribute positively to society, seeing themselves as vessels of God’s love. Through Christian faith, they find the motivation to impact the world in ways that align with Christian values, knowing that their efforts serve a higher purpose.
Explore More About Christian Faith
The Future of Christian Faith
In an ever-changing world, Christian faith continues to be a beacon of hope, guiding believers toward a future rooted in love, peace, and justice. This faith has endured through centuries, adapting yet holding firm to its core beliefs. As society evolves, so too does the expression of Christian faith, finding new ways to reach people in diverse cultures and communities. Its timeless message of redemption, love, and purpose remains relevant, speaking to the hearts of people in every generation.
Conclusion
Christian faith is a journey that invites believers to experience life with hope, purpose, and love. It shapes character, strengthens relationships, and offers comfort in times of hardship. For those who embrace it, Christian faith is more than a set of beliefs; it is a profound relationship with God that brings joy and meaning. In a world filled with challenges, Christian faith remains a steady foundation, helping believers navigate life with grace and resilience, trusting in God’s unchanging love.

Experiment: Asking ChatGPT "What are the best reasons a Christian should make a tulpa"
Everything in orange is written by Chat GPT. Everything in black (or white in dark mode) is me.
Creating a tulpa—a being that is consciously created in one’s mind—can be a unique and personal experience. For a Christian, there are some thoughtful reasons why they might choose to engage in this practice, but there are also some important considerations to keep in mind. Here are some potential reasons a Christian might create a tulpa, along with some perspectives on how to approach it in a faith-centered way:
1. Personal Growth and Reflection
A tulpa can serve as a means of personal reflection. If done mindfully, creating a tulpa might allow someone to work through personal issues, develop a better understanding of themselves, or reflect on their faith. Tulpas can represent different aspects of the self, and if guided with prayer or meditation, they might serve as a tool for self-examination in light of one's relationship with God.
Christian Perspective: Using a tulpa for introspection can be a tool for personal growth, as long as the purpose is to deepen one's relationship with God and align with biblical values.
So far, I think it's doing pretty solid.
I'm not a big fan of the "tulpas represent different aspects of the self" interpretation, but I'd be lying if I said this was something I hadn't seen before. Some tulpamancers do take this view.
I do think that if this was your goal, starting with something like internal family systems would be better than tulpamancy, since tulpamancy is generally seen more as a way to create something new rather than just communicate with a part of yourself.
But some tulpamancers do this, and it's valid.
2. Mental Health Support
Some people use tulpas as a way to cope with loneliness, anxiety, or depression. A tulpa can be a source of companionship or offer comfort, which might be especially valuable for someone struggling emotionally or mentally. In a Christian context, this could be seen as a way to find solace during challenging times, though it’s essential to seek professional help and prayer support alongside this practice.
Christian Perspective: Finding comfort through a tulpa can be helpful, but it’s important to remember that true peace comes from God. Using a tulpa as a substitute for God's healing or community might not be the healthiest long-term approach.
All pretty fair. While we're not Christian and disagree with the "true peace comes from God," implying that non-Christians can't ever have true peace, this is at least how I think Christians would view it.
It's cool that it discussed the mental health benefits of tulpamancy that have been show in studies.
3. Creative or Spiritual Exploration
A tulpa might offer a unique way to engage creatively or spiritually. For example, some might create a tulpa to help them explore biblical themes or spiritual lessons in a more tangible way. The tulpa could represent a guiding spiritual figure, providing insight or inspiration in one's walk with Christ.
Christian Perspective: As long as the tulpa is not replacing the role of the Holy Spirit or leading the individual away from the truth of Scripture, this can be a creative outlet for spiritual exploration. However, it’s important to remain grounded in one’s faith and always discern what’s truly aligning with God’s will.
This is kind of vague and doesn't seem particularly informative or helpful. It's doing that thing generative AIs do sometimes where they will say a bunch of words without really saying much at all.
That said, I'll lend my own perspective which is that most Christian theology establishes God as a trinity of three persons in one being. The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
If a Christian was interested in tulpamancy, then I think this would be one way they could "explore biblical themes" as Chat GPT put it. If the Holy Trinity is plural, being three people in one being, then there's an argument to be made that becoming plural for yourself can help you gain a deeper understanding of and connection to God.
4. A Tool for Meditation or Prayer
Some individuals use their tulpas in the context of prayer or meditation. For example, a tulpa could act as a spiritual guide or a representation of God’s love and wisdom. This could serve as a reminder of God's presence or help one focus during quiet moments of prayer and worship.
Christian Perspective: It's essential to keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is our true guide. A tulpa should never replace the role of prayer, worship, or the actual relationship one has with God. A tulpa can be used as a tool, but not as a substitute for deeper spiritual practices.
Do some individuals use their tulpas for prayer? At least in a Christian context?
This is the first thing that jumps out at me as something the AI completely made up.
I suppose it's possible that somewhere on the internet, someone mentioned this once. I mean, I don't have the full internet in my brain. But I'm inclined to think this might be a legitimate hallucination on the AI's part.
Considerations for Christians
Discernment: It's important to discern whether creating a tulpa aligns with one's Christian beliefs. Is the practice rooted in idolatry, or does it take away from worshiping God? Careful prayer and seeking wise counsel from others are critical.
Avoiding Idolization: The tulpa should never take the place of God or become an object of worship. For a Christian, God must remain the central focus of life.
Spiritual Integrity: A tulpa should not lead someone into deception, occult practices, or a false sense of spiritual fulfillment. Christian teachings on discernment, prayer, and staying true to Scripture are vital for ensuring the practice remains in alignment with faith.
In conclusion, while there are potential benefits, such as personal growth and emotional support, it’s essential for a Christian to approach the practice of creating a tulpa carefully, ensuring it doesn’t replace or undermine one’s relationship with God.
Again, pretty fair from a Christian perspective.
Overall, I'll give GPT's response a 7/10.
It had minor hallucinations and some points that were just too vague to be useful, but overall seemed to have surprisingly good grasp on both Christianity and tulpamancy, and was able to give mostly coherent and accurate advice.
Still, because of the inaccuracies, I would recommend taking anything from GPT with a grain of salt, and talking to real people about your tulpamancy needs instead.

Slow Down and Do Things Right
In our busy lives, it's easy to rush through tasks and miss out on doing them well. This can be especially true when it comes to living the gospel. Sometimes, in our haste to fulfill all our responsibilities, we forget to take the time to truly connect with our Savior and our faith.
Imagine building a house. If we hurry to finish it without paying attention to the details, the house might stand for a while, but it won't be strong. It might have cracks, leaks, or even collapse in a storm. However, if we take our time, carefully laying each brick, ensuring every part is strong and secure, the house will stand firm against any trial.
This is similar to our spiritual lives. If we rush through our prayers, scripture study, and acts of service, we might check off all the boxes, but we miss the deeper connection and growth. We might find ourselves spiritually weak when challenges come. However, if we slow down and do things right, we build a strong foundation of faith.
Taking time to ponder the scriptures, pray with real intent, and serve others with genuine love helps us build a relationship with our Savior that can withstand any storm.
Just like a well-built house, a well-built faith requires patience, effort, and attention to detail.
When we slow down and do things right, we invite the Spirit into our lives. We find peace in the process and strength in our foundation. Let us remember to take our time in our spiritual practices, to truly connect with our Savior, and to build a faith that stands firm.

Esoteric Christianity focuses on the hidden or spiritual meanings behind the teachings of Jesus, the Bible, and Christian symbols. While traditional Christianity emphasizes faith, communal worship, and outward expression, Esoteric Christianity invites believers to explore the inner spiritual journey.
1. Inner Christ: The idea that Christ’s spirit lives within each person and that spiritual awakening involves realizing this inner divine presence.
2. Mystical Knowledge: A belief that deeper truths are accessible through meditation, prayer, and spiritual discipline.
3. Symbolism: Biblical stories and teachings are often viewed as metaphors for inner spiritual truths.
How to Approach Esoteric Christianity
1. Start with Scripture
Begin by reading the Bible, particularly the teachings of Jesus, through a contemplative lens. Reflect on passages such as:
“The kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21)
“I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6)
Consider how these verses may point to inner transformation and spiritual union with God.
2. Study Early Christian Mystics
Explore writings by early Christian mystics and theologians, such as:
St. John of the Cross: Wrote about the “dark night of the soul,” a spiritual journey toward divine union.
Meister Eckhart: Focused on the soul’s direct connection to God.
3. Practice Contemplation and Meditation
Esoteric Christianity often involves meditative prayer practices like:
Lectio Divina: A slow, meditative reading of scripture.
Centering Prayer: Focusing inward to quiet the mind and open the heart to God’s presence.
4. Understand the Symbolism
Reflect on the symbolic meaning of Christian practices and teachings:
The cross symbolizes the death of the ego and rebirth in Christ.
The resurrection represents spiritual awakening and transformation.
Parables contain deeper moral and spiritual lessons about the soul’s journey.
5. Seek Community and Guidance
While esoteric study often emphasizes personal growth, community can help. Look for Christian groups interested in contemplative practices or spiritual growth, or read modern interpretations by thinkers like Richard Rohr and Cynthia Bourgeault.
Esoteric Christianity is not a replacement for traditional faith but a complement to it. Its depth can sometimes lead to:
Over-intellectualization: Getting lost in theories rather than living out faith.
Isolation: Esoteric paths may feel solitary, but they should deepen, not replace, your connection to Christian community.
Misinterpretation: Always ground mystical insights in the love and teachings of Christ.
Why It Matters
Esoteric Christianity invites believers to go beyond surface understanding and cultivate a deeply personal relationship with God. By engaging with scripture, symbols, and spiritual disciplines, we discover a God who is not only transcendent but also immanent—dwelling within us and inviting us into divine union.
As you explore Esoteric Christianity, remember that the ultimate goal is love: love for God, others, and yourself. This journey is not about secret knowledge or elitism but about living in the light of Christ’s transformative power.
Are you ready to go deeper? Start with a quiet moment today, and listen for the whisper of the Spirit within.

Steve Pettit was on the (so-called) Recovering Fundamentalist podcast. You can view it here.
It's his first step in creating his legacy as president of Bob Jones University.
The first point he wants to make very clear is this:
The Citadel taught Steve Pettit discipleship.
He says it a lot:
I'm thrilled to be able to … speak about discipleship because it's something that I've been involved in pretty much throughout all of my Christian experience.
And I learned while I was a cadet at The Citadel, I learned how to disciple people.
And I was learning the philosophy of one-on-one multiplication of disciples. The multiplication you know addition is much slower than multiplication. So if I disciple 2 guys this year and, and those two guys disciple 2 guys the next year, if you do the math you reach the World within a generation and so.
I learned that … the discipleship methods that I've used in ministry.
Well, let me … if I could back it up a little bit. So when I went, as I said, I went to the Citadel. I actually learned discipleship while I was a while I was a cadet, and actually I implemented that same, I bought into the idea of multiplication and … and so therefore, focusing your attention on that and the basic principles of discipleship.
And while I was there, I developed a youth program where we had small group discipleship groups. We would meet on a Wednesday night. I'd do a 20 minute message. Then we'd break up in the small groups and work through the passage of Scripture to learn. So we were nurturing that atmosphere. And at the very heart, at the very core [is] discipleship. And, and I, I this is going to sound cliche, but it is true. It's the Bible.
And I implemented the discipleship philosophy within that framework, so we would meet, we would go through the word. We would learn the word we would, we would study it, but we all had responsibilities. Because discipleship is more than … there, there has to be responsibility. There has to be ministry involvement. There has to be confrontation, appropriate confrontation.
And so we had small groups, discipleship groups.
Okay, okay. Discipleship. We got it.
He says at one point:
[What gave me the most] dynamic growth spiritually was not attending but being involved with the the Material and philosophy of the navigators.
And so I attended a conference in Christmas of 1975 in Atlanta, GA, with about 2500 people attending. It was a Navigator conference and the the the Navigators thing was discipleship.
Okay. Navigators. Got it. He slips that in as if he's replicating the Citadel training. But it's really the experience of the Navigators.
The Navigators still exists. Their press is NavPress. It publishes the Message. It's pretty robust.

Hello, everyone! My name is Chad, and I am thrilled to share my journey of faith with you. As a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, my life has been profoundly enriched by my love for Jesus Christ. I hope this post helps me connect with others who share similar beliefs and inspires those who are curious about our faith.
Growing up, I was always surrounded by the teachings of Jesus Christ. However, it wasn’t until I truly opened my heart to His message that I began to understand the depth of His love and the strength of His guidance. My journey has not been without its challenges, but through every trial, my faith in Jesus has provided me with unwavering support and direction.
One of the greatest blessings in my life has been becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The sense of community and belonging I’ve found here is unparalleled. Our church is not just a place of worship; it’s a family. We come together to support each other, to learn, and to grow in our faith.
The teachings of the church have given me a clearer understanding of God’s plan for us. The Book of Mormon, alongside the Bible, has been a source of profound spiritual insight and comfort. Through regular prayer, scripture study, and church activities, I’ve found a deeper connection with Jesus Christ and a clearer sense of purpose in my life.
I believe that one of the most beautiful aspects of faith is the ability to share it with others. Whether it's through conversations, community service, or simply living a life that reflects the teachings of Jesus, I strive to be a beacon of His love and light. My friends often call me Chad, and I cherish every opportunity to discuss our faith journeys, share stories, and support each other.
I am eager to connect with like-minded individuals who share a love for Jesus Christ. Whether you’re a fellow member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or someone interested in learning more about our faith, I welcome you with open arms. Let’s share our stories, our struggles, and our triumphs. Together, we can strengthen our faith and build lasting friendships.
My journey with Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been incredibly rewarding. My faith has not only provided me with spiritual growth but also a sense of community and belonging. I am excited to continue this journey, to share my experiences, and to connect with others who are passionate about their faith.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to meeting new friends, sharing our love for Jesus, and growing together in faith. If you’d like to connect, please feel free to reach out. Let’s embrace this beautiful journey of faith together!
God bless,
Chad

OBEDIENCE: THE KEY TO THE FULFILMENT OF GOD'S PROMISES
"HE prayed, “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in all of heaven and earth. YOU KEEP YOUR COVENANT AND SHOW UNFAILING LOVE TO ALL WHO WALK BEFORE YOU IN WHOLEHEARTED DEVOTION." 2 Chronicles 6:14 (NLT)

The God of heaven we serve, the Creator of all things, the Father of Jesus Christ; cannot be compared with any other god—either in heaven or the earth.
He is the God who keeps promises and shows the unfailing love, to whoever obeyed Him and eagerly or keenly desired to do His Will.
Obedience and eagerness to do God's Will are the keys to experience or enjoy His unfailing love.
What has God instructed you to do recently? In your walk with God, Obedience is the key that would give you an access to His treasure house.
Being faithful and obedient to His commands or instructions would give speed to your spiritual growth or progress.
If you walk in a total obedience in all the instructions given you by God, you will enjoy His backings in all you do.
God will cut or establish a covenant with you. He honours those who walk in total obedience to His Word.
If you made up your mind to do God's Will, to live in absolute obedience to His words, instructions, and commands; the devil would want to test or try your convictions.
Your total obedience, to the instructions given by God, would attract opposition from the Kingdom of darkness. Your total obedience makes you a target, an object of attacks from the kingdom of darkness.
Your love for God, His Word, and work or Kingdom; makes you an ememy of satan. The devil is after those who are in love with God: "AND THE DRAGON [the devil] WAS ENRAGED WITH THE WOMAN, AND HE WENT TO MAKE WAR WITH THE REST OF HER OFFSPRING, WHO KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD AND HAVE THE TESTIMONY of JESUS CHRIST" (Revelation 12:17 NKJV).
If you are being challenged, or persecuted, because of your total Obedience; I want to encourage you to take heart, you will surely overcome.
What God demands from His children is absolute Obedience and Faithfulness.
Eagerness to do His Will.
You must be eager, having a keen interest and a keen desire, to do His Will. Albeit, some claimed not to know God's Will. His Will is known through His Word, the Bible; and a good fellowship or communion with Him.
God is known through His Word. The things that are written about Him. We had in the Bible the record of those who had walked with Him, for our learning, that we might fully know and understand Him: "SUCH THINGS WERE WRITTEN IN THE SCRIPTURES LONG AGO TO TEACH US. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled" (Romans 15:4 NLT). READ: 1 Corinthians 10:11,12
When you read and study the Word of God daily, and you are faithful in the practice It, you live by its principles; you find yourself At the centre of God's Will. That is, the counsel of God on the issues of life are made known and clear to you through His Word.
You need the help of the Holy Spirit in your Christian life. Some people know the Will of God, but they find it difficult to do or practice.
If you work on your fellowship or communion with God through the Holy Spirit on inside of you: a. You would be able to discern what It is that God wanted you to do (John 16:13,14). b. The Holy Spirit would empower you, give you eagerness, enablement, to do the work. He will enable you to do God's Will.
God's Will is revealed or made known through His Word by the help of the Holy Spirit: "BUT THE HELPER, THE HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in My name, HE WILL TEACH YOU ALL THINGS, AND BRING TO YOUR REMEMBRANCE ALL THINGS THAT I SAID TO YOU" (John 14:26 NKJV).
For God to keep His Promises in your life and show His unfailing love to you, you had to obey Him and be eager to do His Will—whatever He commanded or instructed.
Although there are some things that are not explicitly written in the Bible, which the Believers needed to know what to do about. God's Will on such things can be made known or unravelled by the Holy Spirit.
You had to work on the building of your discernment, or perceptiveness, and grow in it. Your communion or Fellowshipping with God through the Holy Spirit, conversing with Him, builds your sensitivity and perceptiveness.
You do not wait until you had a pressing issue to know what to do about, before you initiated a communication with God. It should be part of your daily life.
This is what is called fellowship or communion. You talk to God often. Whilst driving, washing, cooking, taking a walk, and in whatever you are doing. Whenever you are alone, you want to talk to Him. It could even be in a public bus, whilst others are chatting but you are busy communing or conversing with God under your breath.
If you lived your life as being shared here, knowing God's Will or plan for your life would not be a difficult issue.
Note: Acknowledging God is the basic problem of most Believers (Proverbs 3:5,6). a. Most of them would have gone ahead of God in whatever they wanted to do, without telling Him about it and asking to know His Will or mind on it. b. Such Believers usually remember God when they had one problem or the other in what they wanted to do. If the project went on smoothly, they would not remember or think there is a need to involve God. But If they had issues which may be difficult to handle, then, they would want to call on God to help them. c. The God you did not carry along when you were planning the project, and when you started it, but now that you had issues, you wanted that God to help you out.
Living a consecrated life should be the goal and aspiration of every professed Christian.
A Believer who lives such a life would always Acknowledge God in whatever he or she wanted to do, Carry Him along in every step to be taken: 5 TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND LEAN NOT ON YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING; 6 IN ALL YOUR WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, And HE SHALL DIRECT [make smooth or straight] YOUR PATHS" (Proverbs 3:5,6 NKJV).
If you made the choice of letting the Holy Spirit guide you in all the affairs of your life, you would live to please God in Obedience and have the best of Him. THIS also would make your life colourful and fulfilling.
God's Will for your life will not be aborted in Jesus' name.
Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in Jesus' name.
I rebuke that spirit of infirmity in your system, and I declare your healing, total freedom from that oppression in Jesus' name. Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
Take notice of this: IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15). a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20). b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10). c. Ask that He will write your name in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
If you took the steps As highlighted above, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
