There's something about reading really great writing that's so relaxing. You can just sit back and let the words wash over you, knowing that you can trust the writer.

Don’t you love my idealism? My hypocrisy? My willingness to sound as loving and naive as possible? At least I know that I don’t know anything at all. I can admit it. Can you? Can you look yourself in the mirror in the morning and admit that you are no different from every other bundle of bones on this planet? And maybe the only things that make you different are your hands, the way you touch things, and what happens to them.

Thank god, I tell myself. Which god, I don't know. Between Mother's and Father's gods, I picture a wide black space full of stars. That's the space I whisper up to. Maybe there's a god there too. My own

Stars, Serpents and Stories
Unveiling the Cosmic Influence on Premchand's Masterpieces
Tumblr media
It's said that a person's kundali (कुंडली) is a map of their soul and Dhanpat Rai Srivastava, better known as Munshi Premchand, based on his pen name Premchand is no exception.
Katha Samrat (king of stories, a title given to Munshi Premchand) Munshi Premchand is an Indian writer famous for his modern Hindustani literature. Premchand was a pioneer of Hindi and Urdu social fiction who was well-versed in the art of touching hearts.
Tumblr media
Munshi Premchand has cancer (कर्क) stellium in the first house, which not only shows up in his way of looking at things, i.e., perspective, but also, specifically his writing style. Since the first house rules personality, the sun, venus, and mercury conjunction in the zodiac sign of cancer serve as the key to understanding his personality.
The basic rule of astrology states that houses show you where planets show you what, and the zodiac signs tell you how.
His mercury in the zodiac sign of cancer sign (कर्क राशि) helps give us a lot of clarity in gaining a deeper understanding of his works, the brilliance behind his writing style, his ability to sway his readers, evoke strong emotions within them and deeply move them just through his words.
Cancer's emotional, caring, motherly, and sensitive influence can be seen in the way he expresses himself through his works. One of his works named 'Bade bhai sahab' (बड़े भाई साहब) which quite literally means the big brother or the elder brother, a story written from the perspective of a young brother leaves no stone unturned to make the reader feel deeply attached to the protagonist and the deuteragonist i.e. the elder brother of the protagonist. His psychological genius lies in his sensitive and emotional nature, which gives him the ability to get inside the minds of every type of person, regardless of whichever age, gender, and strata of society they belong to, to look within and through without the differences. The zodiac sign of cancer plays a huge role in his works as it's quite difficult to read him without crying. It's stated often, in general, that it's next to impossible to read one of his best works known as Nirmala (निर्मला), which is a deeply moving melodramatic novel.
Another really interesting aspect of his birth chart is a huge emphasis on Ashlesha Nakshatra. Ashlesha nakshatra, ruled by mercury and among other things, means serpents or sarpa (snakes). The symbol of Ashlesha nakshatra is a snake.
Tumblr media
He has (according to astrosage data) his Venus, and mercury in the ashlesha nakshatra, which yet again shows up in another one of his works.
One of his works named 'Mantra' (मंत्र) reveals a striking connection to his ashlesha nakshatra placements. Mantra (मंत्र) is a short story where a serpent or a snake (सर्प) and a snake bite play a significant role in leading to the turning point of the story. His connection to ashlesha nakshatra (अश्लेषा नक्षत्र) can be easily seen in the story. In addition to this, another one of his works known as/ titled Naag Puja (नाग पूजा) quite literally means 'Naag/ Snake Worship' and reveals a great resemblance to the subjects involved with Ashlesha nakshatra. The story revolves entirely around the themes of ashlesha nakshatra and ashlesha energy has been explored in depth in this intriguing thriller.

Anton Sammut's Historical Novel: Memories of Recurrent Echoes
An absolute hidden gem of a book! A true work of art that is just perfect in terms of writing, style, and plot. What makes this book ever so unique is the astonishing imagery the author manages to create - scenes and emotions described so realistically that the reader becomes emotionally invested in every character within the book.
Spread over multiple decades, the characters are faced with moments from their past that linger on into their present. What sets them apart is how they confront this past. Anton Sammut brilliantly explores the extent to which our history, memories, relationships, and levels of consciousness define our existence. All in all, this book tells us about ourselves.
This is one of my favorite quotes from this novel: “To love silence you must first learn Man's distorted vocabulary. Only when you have done so will you appreciate silence.”

April 7, 2024 My novella "Dreams of Loki" is now also available as a print. It is about spirituality, modern paganism and the struggles and joys of being queer. The Norse deity Loki plays an important part in it and some of the characters are witches.
🔥 Why did I write this novella? Several times, I heard stories about people who left a conservative or fundamentalist Christian cult or congregation and later explored a pagan path. But I do not know any fiction books which deal with this topic, so I decided to write such a story myself. This is also a devotional work dedicated to Loki. 🔥 The ebook and print on Amazon:
Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/-/de/dp/B0CZ7G16S5/
Amazon.co.uk: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CZ7G16S5/
Amazon.com.au: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CZ7G16S5/
Also available in all other Amazon shops worldwide.

Hod - Le Cycle des Cieux
Tumblr media

Title: Till We had Faces by C.S Lewis
My rating: ⭐⭐⭐.5/⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My thoughts: I was really intrigued by the fact that C.S. Lewis had written a love story between mortals and demigods. It does kind of follow a similar suit to the Chronicles of Narnia if you choose to look at it from a Christian/religious stand point.
Additionally, I thought that Lewis chose an interesting narrative for this story. The narrator is a cousin to a mortal who falls in love with this unseen demigod. This narration is very observant and cautious which drives the plot even more.
The reason I gave it 3.5 stars is because there were some moments where I was confused about what I was reading, and honestly conflicted about how the book ended. Overall, it was a good story.

I owe a massive debt of gratitude to M. Lamar Keene--he was one of my key sources of inspiration and information while writing The Shabti. Tragically, Keene died of AIDS in the 1990s. I didn't learn about that until I listened to the podcast Fake Psychic shortly after I finished drafting my book, and I had to take a couple days to grieve. He was a unique and fascinating person, and I hope he found some measure of the peace he spent much of his life searching for.
For more footage of Keene (and some of his Camp Chesterfield colleagues), check out this rare video.
