EIZA GONZALEZ at the 2023 Prince’s Trust Gala on April 27th 2023 wearing OSCAR DE LA RENTA
Not only did Eiza have the best look of the entire event, we were also blessed with an amazing photo of her! There was a lot of poor photos from this event, so I was so excited to see this one.
I just absolutely loved this dress. The bronze color was beyond beautiful. It looked so amazing on Eiza and I loved the multiple shades used. The flowers on the dress were also gorgeous. It was just a really beautiful look, Eiza stole the show.

I rewatched the Spirit Series and the other Movie.
1. Tv Show: Its an okay Show and instead of T9R I can live with it. Because its respectful to his Original Movie. We have Little refrencenes like Little Creeks Son, the Eagle Symbol and the half Dome, the Designs of the Horses also stay true to the OG Movie, Spirit Jr.‘s two Horse friends remind Me from the Design of Rain & Esperanza. I also like the Relationship between Lucky & Spirit jr. The Friendship between the PALs is also cute. I also like the Turo-Guy, he is very nice. And it kinda makes sense That Spirit Jr. Is more Open minded to Humans because of its Mom Rain But he is also stubborn like his Father.
2. the other Movie. Spirit untamed isn‘t a nessacry Movie, because all feel rushed and is basically the begining of the TV Show But with a different ending. Seriously DreamWorks you can do better. There Are also Little hints to Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron like the Homeland Landscape, the leap of faith, Spirit Jr. running with his herd and the flying Eagle. But it misses the music that Made Spirit just Spirit and that we get no inner Dialog from our main Horse Character, which would make the story a lot more different and it would like the first One, stand out.
3. The Original Movie: A Masterpiece🤩 Emotional and Beautiful. The Songs from Bryan Adams are fantastic, Hans Zimmer really nailed it with his Soundtrack and Matt Damon makes a Good Performance as Narrator. And the Colonel is the Best Antagonist of this Franchise. When I First See This Movie, Disney died for me and I was Now a DreamWorks Fan until This Day.

Jen Tortures Herself With Every Dreamworks Animated Movie Ever: Spirit Untamed
Why the fuck does this movie exist? No really, why does it exist? Who asked for a Spirit reboot (not a sequel, because it isnt a sequel, its a reboot for some reason) in the year of our lord 2021? Who asked for this to be released in theaters? And why is it honest to god one of the worst movies I've had the displeasure of watching as part of this marathon???
Ugh, ok so we follow a girl named Lucky, who's visiting her estranged father for the summer alongside her uptight aunt Cora. While there, she meets a captured wild horse, which she quickly bonds with and names Spirit, while also befriending two other local Horse Girls (get ready to hear me say Horse GIrls a lot bc this is literally Horse Girls The Movie). When Spirit's herd is captured by bandits, its up to these Horse GIrls to go on a grand adventure and rescue them.
Yeah, basic plot with insanely basic characters because this movie is for Babies and Horse GIrls. I don't know what else to fucking say. Everything about this movie screams childish and pandering, from the way these characters are written (its set in the early 1900s, but these kids use words like "totally" and make friendship bracelets omg besties, jfc shoot me) from the shitty pop songs to even how it looks (more on that in a bit). There's like... basically nothing appealing about this film if you aren't a very small child or obsessed with horses and even then, the horses element of it is just oh, look at horse make big jump! oh look at horse bond with horse girl! And it gets so damn old so damn fast.
The characters here are all as basic as they can be. Lucky is your typical headstrong preteen, who is way too overconfident in her own abilities, to the point that she's kind of moronic imo? Her friends aren't much better and barely have personalities outside of being there to support Lucky and be her omg besties! Spirit is just... fuckin there, he has no real personality, unlike the original movie where he had a bunch, without even saying a word. Lucky's dad is the most Generic Dreamworks Dad with hangups I've ever seen, I guess Aunt Cora is probably the only semi fun character in the cast, and the bad guy, fuck he was so ineffective and boring I don't even remember his name. The only thing I do remember is his face is weirdly smooshed and he got defeated by a goddam Horse Girl, of all things, jesus christ man, that's taking a major L.
The animation here is just plain pathetic. I understand that this was basically made to launch a Netflix spinoff series, but fuck man, this released in theaters. Does Dreamworks have no fucking shame? Even some of their earliest CGI movies looked better than this bland, uninteresting looking style they have going on here. The music is every bit as boring and forgettable, with again, shitty pop songs. Yay. Just what we need more of.
So yeah, this one fucking sucked. The only good thing I can say about it is it was mercifully short. But like... it was so goddamn boring, man. Even Boss Baby, for as bad as it was, was at least interesting to watch bc you wanted to see how batshit bad it would get. This was just... hard to even focus on with how dull and predictable it was. So thanks, Dreamworks, for releasing this second rate trash heap in theaters, because otherwise I would have never ruined an evening of my life watching it. Seriously, thanks for that. T-T
Overall Rating: 2/10
Verdict: Banished to Horse GIrl Country

The Spirit Untamed dolls are very cute and they really worth it. Their faces are very sweet, they have nice hairstyles and if you don't like that they have molded on jeans and boots, you can put their dresses on and they look great.

So I'm shopping for "Spirit" gifts for my son and...
Yeesh. That's a pretty poor show for POC representation. Like, when you have the character there on the box, I feel like there's no excuse.
Like, I get it, like with Lego, they have a finite amount of moulds and colours they can use I assume, all black lego characters are the same tone even though the characters they are based on may not be, I get that there is potentially a limit to what they can do, but Pru doesn't even look black here, she's only slightly darker skinned than Lucky who is Latin-American. I feel like they could have done much better, given that they do make figures who are much closer in tone.

So, I didn’t particularly care that much about DreamWorks Television Animation’s Spirit: Riding Free, choosing to ignore and accept its overall existence as just a harmless show for obviously young girls. The decision to reintroduce the story of Spirit, an animal that stood against the abuse of the army and accepted the trust of humans into his life, was basically baffling; I had to remind myself that this was intended as a small follow-up to his kindred, not his character. Then, the studio made a movie which is based as both a soft reboot towards the Netflix show and the predecessor.
Set in the Wild West yet again, the young girl, Fortuna, also known as Lucky, is sent to live with her grandfather, a governor, and aunt Cora, only to ruin his campaign party. Therefore, she travels to the town of Miradero with her father, who previously had her sent away due to losing her mother from a horse-riding incident at the circus. Along her way, Lucky meets the wild stallion, who she dubs as Spirit, causing her father to forbid her from ever riding such an animal. Undeterred by his overprotectiveness, Lucky begins to bond with the stallion, assisted by horse-riding friends, while a suspicious rustler targets his next ticket to money.
I’d suppose that I should come out as clean by saying that I obviously wasn’t the target audience at all for this was geared towards a younger generation that loves horse-riding. Nonetheless, I still tried to grasp what I could from the overall feature and I’d admit that there’s nothing to be remotely angry at such a harmless little display. The studio wanted to reintroduce one of their forgotten characters in history where this was their one choice of doing so. For fans of the original movie, such as myself, this wasn’t how I would envision a reboot, but in a different light, this wasn’t a bad way in terms of the target audience.
This was a decent way of gearing a movie towards little girls, where the overall idea of the main characters’ roles to go against the rules and save the herd themselves could be empowering. Somehow, I wasn’t loathing this movie’s existence, as at the end of the day, it was proposed as a soft reboot to the original 2002 movie.
My main source of boredom with its display sourced from the same formula that you’ve seen in many premises; the daughter and father had been separated for so long that their conversations are cut short, while arguments took over their interactions. Right off the bat, we’re introduced to the main point of bickering between the two with the father’s overprotective nature stemming from his late wife’s passing. Eventually, towards the end, the distance between the two encouraged the father to finally doing what was right and reunite with his missing daughter, only paying off by the very end.
I suppose I could have done without some of the comedy that frequently interrupted the sentimental parts. Whenever there was a moment where the father chased Lucky away with scolding, it’s followed by a sour note caused by a small action or a line. Such examples included the auntie making a comment at Lucky’s expense or when one of the characters would make a comment that’s intended to be uplifting. I never laughed at any of the characters’ lines or their silly slapstick, which were mainly that tame and suitable for a younger audience indeed.
Towards one reading this review at this point, the subplot with Lucky’s distance relationship with her father isn’t the main point of focus, as you’re probably wondering about the display of the titular stallion himself. Spirit returned in a computer-animated form, resembling his golden appearance from the hand-drawn predecessor. Despite how the premise was vastly alternated from the deeper dive in tonal shifts, the animators managed to keep the same expressions on the horse’s; an impressive amount of screen time is focused on the stallion’s range of emotions. To my surprise, they managed to balance both of the expressions of horses and their own riders, such as sharing each-other’s reactions. Take one part for example, where all three were riding, where one sang on her guitar, followed by her steed’s silly miming, annoying the other four around them. They managed to keep Spirit’s expressions and mirror them against Lucky, a young girl wishing to progress and bond with the outcasted victim.
From first glance, it’s relatively tame on the quality, where the human characters don’t resemble their show counterparts, given rounder heads and skinnier body frames. While their designs were adequate, the horses’ stole the show, looking as vibrant as ever, since the original movie’s. With the equine foregrounds looking spectacular as ever, the backgrounds didn’t share the same effect, focusing on the boring western town, up until the hazardous mountains. With a rushed and by-the-book climax on the other hand, the quality doesn’t hold a candle to its predecessor’s way of expressing the background’s scope.
The characters were as by-the-book as well, acting as one-dimensional stand-ins for this overall mediocre display. Lucky was the entrapped girl kept in solitude as the grandfather hoped her to become a well-refined young lady, only for that set-up to immediately forget itself and then shift to a love for horse-bonding.
What increased the spirit inside the character was standing up against animal abuse when rustlers began to mistreat Spirit, while learning how to build herself up for earning trust by the stallion. The two didn’t start off as fast friends in a heartbeat, but thanks to her encouragement, Lucky approached Spirit with patience and kindness, allowing the animal to return his affection.
Her friends consist of Pru the friendly professional and Abigail the more laidback and reckless, where the three began to stick together during the thickest of moments. Side-characters included the distant widowed father, deeply sharing his concern for Lucky engaging with wild horses in fear of her meeting his wife’s fate, while there’s the auntie that barely made any huge impact on the story or comedic value. Other characters with Pru’s horse-keeping father and Abigail’s annoying donkey-riding little brother appeared now and then.
Spirit was reintroduced as once again the familiar stern lone wolf, refusing any contact with humans due to the rough and abusive nature the rustlers had. It was all up to both Lucky and Spirit to eventually trust each-other with the stallion counteracting her approach, while slowly letting his guard down towards apples and calm mannerisms. This mirrored almost the same arc Spirit had when it came to Little Creek, but this adapted another approach, taking the perspective with a little girl this time. By the midpoint, Spirit allows his herd to come out of hiding, doing all that he could to keep them safe from any harm.
As for the rustlers, they were such boring villains, consisting of the money-hungry Hendricks and his posse, only acting as mere threats with the most generic dialogue in order to pander towards children. Throughout the first half, they show up to attempt to break down the fight out of the stallion, while wrangling him fiercely. To increase a conflict, they manage to harbour a herd of wild horses across a cargo train for extra cash, where it’s up to Lucky’s and Spirit’s combined efforts to stop them. They spend their screen time as a pathetic attempt to act tough but are so easily beaten by mere acts of being pushed around or tied up. Talk about weak efforts to establish villains that were built up to have a strong effect on Spirit’s mistrust only to portray them as weak in combat by the end.
So, all-in-all, this movie wasn’t as bad as I thought it was, where it clearly bared the slightest amount of effort thrown in, though not all attempts were devoid of flaws. It’s transparent that the makers wanted to reboot their obscure stallion in the same style of a feature for the young female demographic. While it’s definitely not a film to be that upset over as there’s clearly other rebooted flicks that are inherently a lot worse than this, it’s a basic passing glance, where very little nothing came out of this for me. As a reboot, it worked adequately so, but I’m just going to return to the original masterpiece.
Final Rating: F
3/10
