Cobalt Kobolds, Blue Kobolds or Koblues are various names of a rare species of Kobolds who for enigmatic reasons have leanings towards the energy of the Fae Realm or ties to Fairy Dragons. Their scales are a vibrant Blue color, not quite like the Chromatic Blue Dragon, they almost resemble the shiny iridescent color of Cobalt Quartz crystals in color. Their ears and tail are also distinct features that separate them from other Kobolds. They have large ears which greatly resemble Butterfly or Fairy Wings, featuring unique patterns that may be used to identify individuals and Eyespots which may serve a role in intimidating or deterring predators. Their tails give off a constant faint blue ghostly glow which trails magical wisps like fire making them stand out in their dark environment, some travelers have reported what were likely a large group of Cobalt Kobolds making a tree appear to be ablaze with ghostly blue flames without burning. Rather than trying to go for camouflage, they have taken more of an aposematic coloration approach using their coloration to warn aggressors and predators  that attacking or eating them is a bad idea. Like other Kobolds, they tend to dwell in tight knit horde communities with strong social order, and can be found mostly within dark and wild places of the world like dense forest floors and dark caves. While they are very capable climbers they seem to be most comfortable on the ground and digging burrows in the earth either within caves or under large trees. They are diligent workers, who tend to be content when left to their own devises, however they are also clever and industrious little inventors with an inclination towards mischief, which is perhaps enhance by their Fae Dragon connections. They love to build things for the main purpose of messing with travelers who pass through their territory. These traps are more meant to annoy and frustrate travelers rather than actually cause them physical harm like a chest that releases smelly gas when opened. They like to see travelers be surprised and laugh at their misfortune, but If the traveler is a good sport about being pranked, they may receive a boon and be welcomed next time they pass by the Kobold’s territory or led by the Cobalt Kobolds to an area of value. Cobalt Kobolds can also be appeased with offerings and gifts, returning the favor in kind, though sometimes this just means they are going to stealing from somebody else. However particularly poor sport and violent travelers deeply offend Cobalt Kobolds, and they have a long memory for people they hate. They tend to try not to directly confront targets, but will cause “accidents” to happen around them. They also have a special trick for people they particularly don’t like being able to poison metal objects with a touch. Sometimes if they are trying to escape a dangerous pursuer, they will drop a pouch that contains poisoned Golden coins to distract them, and then regroup to gang up on them while they are weak. Protecting Family

Hmmm

I'm on a Danny is Dick's child kick rn so I'm making more.

But lets add in some Ghost King Danny!, Dad to a deaged Ellie and Dan! And toddler Mar'i Grayson.

Danny was conceived during Dick's amnesia year when he was Ric and the woman couldn't find him to tell him (or maybe the Owls caught wind of the pregnancy and took her) and he ended up somehow (hmmm maybe a meddling time keeper?) with the Fentons.

Danny grows as a Fenton, he knows he was adopted btw, then becomes Phantom, protects Amity, becomes the Ghost King and things seem to be going okay between Amity Parkers and the Infinite Realms since they took care of the GIW problem, AND has been a good doting teen dad to his deaged 'cousins/clones' turned kids.

Danny was going to go pick his kids up from daycare one day when CHAOS happens. Just as he wrangles Ellie onto his shoulders, cause she wants to be tall today, and about to take Dan's hand cause he's and I quote "A big boy and not a baby like Ellie, Dad!" he suddenly feels the tug of his family being in danger.

Thing is, its a blood related danger. Meaning someone blood related to him was in grave danger, and by the emotions he can feel, its someone young, way younger than him.

Problem.

The only people Danny knows with his blood in their veins and are young enough for the feeling are with him.

So who?

But due to Danny being a protector spirit AND knowing the feeling is from someone as young as his own kids, Danny decides to use his Ghost King Powers to summon said person from the danger to him.

Danny opens his free arms out just as a tiny toddler with black hair like his own but with bright green eyes, even the sclera were green, in a ruined party dress drops from the sky from the summoning circle that had opened above him.

Danny stares at the terrified child, whose hands are tied by rope and was crying, and takes notes of certain traits she had that he saw every time in the mirror or on his own kids, same eye shape and cheekbones. He can tell his ghost core has claimed her as family but not as his kid though.

No the connection that formed was almost like his connection with Jazz but a bit stronger.

This kid, was his sister. His blood related one.

-Meanwhile-

Dick Grayson, aka Nightwing, and his family were freaking the fuck out.

Dick was already panicked when his daughter Mar'i had gotten kidnapped just a few hours ago by the Joker.

Now he was feeling pure dread when his daughter, who was about to be killed, was suddenly pulled into a strange glowing circle at the last minute and disappeared into thin air.

One of the many things that had me sobbing in the show is how they made Zuko’s fleet the 41st division. Meaning the division he spoke up for, the division that earned him his scar, is the division he was assigned for his goose chase. Imagine how heartbreaking it is. AND THE TEAM DIDNT EVEN KNOW HE DID THAT FOR THEM. MY BOY WAS ALWAYS GOOD!!!

can you even imagine what a fucking horror show the early game is from spite's perspective, though. not only is this funky forcibly severed little slip of the fade having to deal with the reverse cosmic horror of physical reality as perceived by a spirit and being trapped in it against its will -- existentially confused and disoriented and hurting and nothing makes any kind of sense, at the mercy of human cruelty at its most deliberately sadistic. and then the one source of comfort and compassion and some kind of safety and clarity that lucanis surely must have been to him in the ossuary despite everything just goes and shuts himself in his room inside with a seemingly passive aggressive number of locks between them and no explanation and won't speak to him and they're STILL in the fucking ossuary. rook came and found them and they could be free now (rook is here!) and still lucanis keeps them in the ossuary even though he PROMISED he promised they'd get out of there together!!! what the fuck DO you think at that point? like did he trick me that whole time??? he wasn't like zara before, so why is he doing this to me now? why isn't he saying anything? 'he won't move. I can't reach him'. at least in the ossuary they had a deal, a goal, a hope -- each other. at least he wasn't entirely alone, before.

this poor poor poor little spite spirit really was ferried into the real world like 'hey welcome to reality! as your first introduction to it you're first getting horrifically tortured and then getting to vicariously experience one of THE most distressing and harrowing psychological conditions the human brain can cook up for itself (a fully fledged and deeply entrenched freeze response flaring up with catastrophic severity due to an unbroken ongoing and unlikely to let up any time soon chain of Unfortunately... Recent Events). I think spite is being extremely reasonable and patient about the whole thing, when you put it into perspective. I'm not saying let him eat the self-lighting candles or anything, but he's got some extremely valid points along the way lol. spite is not only child-like, the metaphor work going on is a lot more pleasingly flexible and complex than that, but he is also helplessly existentially dependent on lucanis in a way that, if anything, is a heightened version of the way a child (or child part) has to depend on a parent to navigate the world and survive.

tl;dr: we truly don't give enough sympathy to spite for having to live in the head of lucanis dellamorte. a place even lucanis dellamorte would prefer not to be. to be fair to him I think lucanis would be the first person to agree with this lol
