to say you were excited for tom to come home would be saying the least. you were stoked, feet tapping gently against the tile of the airport flooring. the normally crowded airport now dead due to it being an unreasonable time for travelers.

however, a couple people passed by you, but not a lot. most of them were business men or women, exclaiming happily as they hugged and kissed their spouses and kids. you smiled as you watched, the father of a small blonde haired girl smiling and picking her up, her giggles echoing off the walls.

you turned your attention back to the gate, spotting the familiar blonde as a brunette walked beside him. they were walking towards you and you swore you saw tom put his bag down to let you run to him. you smiled, running as fast as you could down the empty walkway, finally meeting your boyfriend. he smiled softly, pulling you into his body as harrison stopped, admiring the couple next to him.

tom breathed in your scent, tears threatening to spill over his eyes. he had missed you too much, been gone without you for way too long. you gripped the hoodie that hung loosely around his frame, not wanting to let go of him ever again.

“i’ve missed you,” he breathed, nuzzling his face into your hair. you sniffled, pulling back to grab his face between your hands,”missed you so much.”

“i’ve missed you, too, baby.” your voice was soft, like honey to his ears. your nose pressed against his, his arms tightening around your waist. harrison cleared his throat, looking at the two of you.

you blushed, moving from tom to harrison, giving him a large, tight hug,”i’ve missed you too, haz, don’t worry.”

he chucked, hugging you back just as tight. you had been too long without your boys, been too long without anyone besides tessa, of course. your heart finally felt warm again, the cold that seemed forever trapped in your body now replaced by nothing but warmth.

you pulled away, grabbing tom’s hand in your as he picked up his bag,”let’s go home, yeah?”

the two boys nodded, you making your way to the front entrance and to the parking lot. the sky was becoming lighter, the sun rising off in the distance as you looked at your watch, it only being 5 in the morning.

once you dropped harrison off at his apartment, you and tom made your way back to yours. once through the door, the sweet smell of cinnamon and vanilla met his nose; the smell of your favorite candle.

tessa was quick to jump at tom, his smile lighting up his face. you smiled, watching your boy as he leaned down, giving the pup as many kisses as he possibly could as she squirmed, happy to see her owner. you grabbed tom’s bag, mentioning that you’d be right back before making your way to the laundry room.

you put the dirty clothes of his in the washer, feeling a pair of arms wrapping around your waist. you sighed, leaning back against his chest. his cologne filled your sense, the same smell that had started to fade from his pillow and his spot on the couch. his head fell against your shoulder, wild curls tickling your cheek.

you heard a sniffle come from tom, causing you to whip around as fast as possible. he tried to hide it, tried to stifle it. you looked as your boyfriend stood in front of you, red and splotchy cheeks covers by his hands. you frowned, grabbing at his wrists,”what’s wrong, bub? talk to me.”

he didn’t answer, but you watched as his shoulders shook. you felt your heart snap in your chest, watching your boyfriend shake in front of you. you pulled his hands from his face, his wet, red face meeting yours, eyes red and puffy.

“i…” he trailed off, licking his lips,”i can’t, i can’t do this anymore.”

your heart stopped,”do what?”

“this traveling thing,” he mumbled, his brown eyes meeting yours again,”i can’t be away from you and everyone else for so long just to go back in a month or two.”

you frowned, running a hand through his hair, your other wiping away his tears,”baby, that’s unfortunately the price you pay for being an actor.”

he knew you were right, but god he couldn’t take another trip to a different country, couldn’t handle being away from you for so long again. you could tell, it was written on his face.

“you don’t deserve this,” he mumbled,”someone could treat you so much-“

“don’t finish that sentence.” you said, his eyes snapping up to meet yours. you held his hand, gripping it tightly.

“don’t tell me someone could treat me better than you, cause you’re wrong. i’ve been crazy about you since we met, and i always will be, just for you. don’t try to get rid of me, cause you’re stuck with me whether you like it or not.”

“trust me, i like it,” he joked, causing you to smile at him,”but i can’t help it, i just-“

“i get it,” you smiled, pulling him closer to you, wrapping his arms back around your waist,”remember when i would doubt being good enough for you? what did you say to me?”

“i said that you’d always be the one, no matter how many pretty faces i pass.”

“exactly,” you smiled,”take your own advice, baby.”

he sucked in a breath, his heart calming as you placed your hand on his chest. he knew you were right, but he wanted to make sure that he was yours, you were his, you were each other's.

“i love you, tommy.”

“i love you more, my love.”
