#JustBare #JustBareLightlyBreadedSpicyChickenBreastFillets #SpicyChickenBreastFillets
I tried the Just Bare Lightly Breaded Spicy Chicken Breast Fillets and it was pretty good.
This chicken tasted fresh and was soft while also moist. This had a light spicy kick and tasted like pepper, paprika, and hot sauce on the breading of the chicken. This was lightly salty to me.
I would eat this again.
Got at Gordons.

DON'T BINGE:
Take a moment and talk to God about it (even if you’re not a believer, it doesn’t hurt to try!)
Watch mukbang about the food that you are craving
Watch supersize vs superskinny (its on YouTube)
Look in the mirror and remind yourself why you are doing this in the first place
Read a book
Do your homework
Do chores
Smell at the food that you are craving
Write down your feelings and cravings (trust me it helps sm)
Drink A LOT of water. Drink until you feel like you’re about to explode
Clean your room! Get rid of all those water bottles and dishes.
Clean out your closet, decide what clothes you don’t wear and donate them to your local thrift store!
Go on a shopping spree! (Don’t spend all your money though!)
Organize your Pinterest boards
Compare yourself to th!nsp0
Weigh yourself
Listen to music
Drink calming tea
Catch up with a friend!
Talk to your pet about your feelings
Sleep the cravings out
Take a long walk
Take a cold shower
Watch a movie you haven’t seen before
Take care of your nails!
Look up how to do something you have always wanted to learn (make-up, macramé, origami, sign language, …)
This might sound weird but I love sudokus and they always get me focused enough to stop thinking about bingeing
Make a to-do list for the rest of the week
Listen to a podcast
Have a self-care day (take an everything-shower, put on a face mask, take care of your hair and body)
Make an essay about any topic you like
Start writing a book
Re-decorate your room
Make a New Year’s resolution list! Who do you want to be at the end of 2024?
^ or make a vision board !!!
Call a friend or family member
Read the newspaper (lowkey more interesting than I expected it to be)
If you’re frustrated about it, scream into a pillow
Scroll on insta or tiktok
Built a Lego set
Pick some flowers!
Practice deep breathing
Try yoga if you haven’t before!
If you are still standing in your kitchen, girl get out rn
Ask yourself if you are physically hungry, the answer is most likely no
Keep a food diary
Munch on a low cal snack instead, take veerryyyy slow bites
Thing I do but definitely don’t recommend:
Binge and purge (if you purge make sure you brush your teeth abt 30mins after)
Sm0ke or v@pe (depends if i’m able to go outside or not)
Sh (please, pleaaaase don’t do this)
I’m so guilty to do this to my family and the people who think I’m in a true recovery. But if I don’t Im scared of what might happen, I’m scared I’ll kill myself or even worse. I just really want to lose weight and feel like myself again
On day one I did mess up by having meat early on but we have to go through meat products before I can buy vegetarian substitutes plus we don’t have eggs rn.
so you think you're "stuck" here again? you're not actually stuck, you're just not trying hard enough. you can lower your intake, walk more, exercise harder, fast for longer. the only thing stopping you from losing weight is you. why haven't you changed that? do something.
It’s only been two hours and you are already eating again. You are gonna be huge forever.
if you're looking at some food and doubting yourself if you should eat it or not, the answer is no
I doubt that eating makes you as happy as stepping on the scale and seeing that you lost weight
You aren’t hungry, you’re just bored.
Excuses to not eat:
My tummy hurts from gallbladder
I took my pills in the morning and got sick
Sky kept me busy all day
Shared breakfast and lunch with sky
Thought I ate, forgot. *Go to get a snack and come back with a drink or small treat*
Spend time cooking for others
Talk about how you ate different things for breakfast
Smaller chest
Sharper jawline
Less curvy thighs
Square hips
Dainty hands
Collarbones
Slutty waist
Sharp shoulders
To float in my clothes
To look hot in emo clothes
Deeper set eyes
Visible spine
✨️Hipbones✨️
To save money (less food eaten, less food to buy)
Mesh tops
Muscles easier to see
People telling me I'm so small
Boyfriends being able to pick me up like it's nothing
some tips on food fixation and binging urges:
hellooo, ive been thinking about compiling some things that have helped me get my mind off of food and overall just writing down some rant -- so here it is!
keep in mind, im not an expert and this is mostly just me babbling. im writing this as a motivation for myself, and it will probably not work for everyone, but if you find any of this stuff helpful -- my pleasure!
★ mindfulness ★
`` first of all -- ive found that that strong-urge-to-binge thing is more of a state, not a feeling. it helps me to treat it as such: a mental state, a spiral, and to come out of that spiral you can:
◌ stop!
◌ breath in, breath out. ground yourself. have that thought of "wait, what am i doing?" in the space between you and the fridge
◌ check in with your body. what position are you in? does something hurt? are you cold? are you tired? overenergized?
◌ check in with your mind. is there any buzz? are you overwhelmed?
◌ if you located the issue (eg. im tired! i want comfort! so food = comfort!) -- great! move on from there to resolving this issue in a more mindful, not-involving-food way (then i should nap, do yoga, just lie on the floor, watch comfort movie)
why are we doing that? in my opinon, its very important to train that "what am i doing" moment of conciousness, because through that you can see better why you want to binge. is it a mental thing? how can you cope without food? is it a physical feeling? an effect of restriction? how can you tweak your eating to make it better (imo, fasting does better job at managing binges than plain restriction)
you cant just showe thinspo at your face everytime you crave something, after all : )
★ activities ★
`` make something with your hands! ohh my god! i cant stress it enough, it can help you to not get fixated on thinking about food so much! it can be something easy like drawing, or you can look up something new for yourself
`` go on a walk. i know, it can be very tiring to even think about, but t does wonders at distracting you
`` yoga. very simple and very effective. or, alternatively
`` do nothing at all for a bit. just. lie down, turn off your phone, no sound, no nothing (helps if your binging urge feels overwhelming)
`` if you havent already, try drinking coffee. it really is called an appetite supressant for a reason
`` i wasnt the one who told you that, but you can look up some gross stuff involving food.. f*eeding k*ink usually freaks me out on multiple levels for long enough to forget about food
`` test yourself and allow yourself to feel bored. put down your phone. watch a really long flm. boredom is a part of our lives, and if you teach yourself to feel it in such small portions without binging youll be so so proud of yourself

7 and 20 for the ask! (Grocery theme!!)
(In reference to this ask meme.)
7. Any groceries you’ve been getting into lately?
Aaaah, I don't think so, honestly. I mean, I've started to buy ice cream in tubs from time to time which isn't something I used to do but it's both irregular and not exceptional enough to warrant calling "getting into", I'm afraid.
20. What’s in your freezer right now? Oh, I can answer that easily and exactly because I actually have a list because I keep forgetting things are in there somewhere in the back and then I buy them again (and again. And again.). Be warned that this is a very German list and I'm not sure how well I'll be able to translate it, both literally and figuratively (in what it conveys). Let's see:
The mentioned tub of ice cream. It's walnut even though I usually get vanilla and am not actually a big walnut fan. Don't ask me why I got it, then. Half eaten.
Red cabbage, leftover from the last time I made pork roast.
A few bread dumplings, also leftovers from the last time I made pork roast.
A red bell pepper, cut into strips.
10 gyoza wrappers. I make like two too many with every batch and now I'm almost at the point where they'll make a whole batch by themselves!
A salmon fillet.
Half a loaf of kashkaval cheese, cut.
Lemon juice, tomato paste, and garlic paste made in an ice cube tray.
Two small containers of chopped dill, one of chopped thyme.
A bag of chopped parsley.
Four raw gyoza.
A small container of leftover... stew? I don't really know what you'd call this in English. It was originally (like, fifteen years ago) this recipe but I've changed it to my family's taste and it's been a staple ever since. I only make it rarely for myself but since it's very filling, even small amounts can make a satisfying lunch!
Brown mushrooms, chopped.
Grated parmesan.
A chicken breast.
A bunch of... sausage? This was the part I was thinking of mostly when I wrote the introductory paragraph. There is weirdly no real way to translate this into English because I don't think you guys really have this? At least not in the way you can get it at the butcher's? My dictionary is giving me "lunch meat", "cold meat", and "cold cuts"?? Is that what it's called? It's like this. I get a few different types at once so that I can freeze and then thaw them as I need them.
Two ends of Leberkas, which my dictionary helpfully calls "type of meat loaf found in Austria and parts of Germany and Switzerland". Contrary to my sister, I don't actually like the end parts ("Scherzerl") but I still get them whenever the butcher has them because I like putting them, diced, into pasta salads. And sometimes they're big enough to cut them into two pieces, one of which doesn't have the actual end part, and then I bake that and put it on a bread roll.
A piece of butter I rescued from going bad when I last knew I would be gone for two weeks. It's been living here for quite some time now because somehow there's never the right opportunity to take it out.
Three horsemeat sausages.
Two Bratwürste (and I HATE that you guys don't have a translation for that), a special blend the local butcher makes only in the summer which is SO GOOD. It's a bit spicy and I basically can't tolerate spice at all so I was really surprised by how much I like them when I first tried them. They're thin and an orange-y red and shed a lot of oil when you fry them but they're divine.
A bag of scallions. Just like with the celery stick video I reblogged recently, I should be allowed to buy one or two scallions, not a whole bunch of them! My freezer is never free of scallions because of this.
Four bread rolls. The bakery is just around the corner from my flat but I still don't feel like going every other day so I get a bunch of bread and rolls once a week or so and then freeze them for later use.
Two bags of pancake strips. I made way too many pancakes on Saturday and since in broth is the best way to eat them anyway I cut the leftover ones up and froze them in batches so that I get to enjoy my favourite type of soup whenever I want.

Letterkenny Cold Open - Chicken
WAYNE: So you're on the road with your buddies the other daaaaaaaay.... (Interior: Wayne's truck) SQUIRRELY DAN: That a Wendy's comin' up? DARRY: Fifteen miles off, but yeah. WAYNE: Didn't think you for a Wendy's man, Squirrely Dan. SD: I likes the spicy chickens sandwich. D: Spicy chicken's not bad. W: Tolerable. D: You got something about the spice, Wayne? SD: Maybe too much spice for him. D: Get a case of the Afters? SD: Little heartburn? D: Lotta heartburn? SD: Snot rockets runnin' down the nostrils uncontrollablys? D: Can always get yourself a good Frosty to counteract that. SD: Though the dairy might not be too good for all that. On accounta- W: It's not that. D: Well enlighten us. W: It's just the chicken. (LONG PAUSE) SD: You never had a problems with the old yardbird before. D: I think I'd remember you having a problem with yardbird. SD: Ate twelve plates of Buffalo Wings at MoDean's during the competition. W: Still can't believe Bonnie McMurray won that. SD: Bonnie McMurray... D: Bonnie McMurraaaaay... (PAUSE) SD: Well then what is it? You likes the chickens, so why- W: It's disrespectful. (LONG PAUSE) D: Explain! W: One - they take a perfectly good chicken breast, deep freeze it, bread it with a load of spices and fry it. SD: That's standards practice, yeah. W: Two - they slap it on a bun with mayo, lettuce, and tomahto. D: Okay. (PAUSE) W: Well that's it, innit. SD: The toh-mah-toes? W: And the lettuce. Disrespects the chicken. D: By - what - cutting down on the spice? W: If you're making a spicy chicken sandwich you embrace the spice. Anything besides the bread is disrespectful to the chicken, and I only account for the bread `cause otherwise you get grease all over your hands. SD: Even the mayo? W: Eh, the mayo's just chicken lubricant, I give that a pass long as they don't slop it on heavy. D: You can order it without, y'know. W: But if I do, I'm just encouraging `em to keep up their practice. To keep the standard of lettuce and tomahto on an otherwise serviceable sandwich, to keep making it the exception rather than the rule to have a naked fillet on a bun. (PAUSE) D: Okay. Okay, I get that. But you know the problem with that. W: Enlighten me, Darry. D: If you want a spicy chicken sandwich that - by default - doesn't have all that... you gotta eat at Chic-Fil-A. (LONG PAUSE) W: Well fuck, Wendy's it is, then. (CUT TO WAYNE IN FRONT OF THE BARN) W: A fella's gotta have some standards.

Homecooking [Oct ed]
What’s up everybody?!
Slightly more homecooking content in this month’s post. .. as we transition to fall (& winter), noodle soups will be occupying more space in these posts xD
Tumblr media
Udon noodles with chicken breast & napa cabbage. Used Knorr chicken broth as soup base.
Tumblr media
Ddeok-guk, which is Korean (flat) rice cake soup. I added some dumplings & baby bokchoy in.
Tumblr media
Sujebi + chayote in leftover chicken soup. .. & hard-boiled egg. This was my breakfast post-night shift.
Tumblr media
Sujebi dish #2 . .. This one in fish cake broth + zucchini. Also very light, but very tasty!
Tumblr media
Sujebi dish #3 . .. I call this the “leftover hot pot special”. I don’t know about you, but when we have hot pot, we always over-prepare foods, so there’s always leftover defrosted proteins & seafood, as well as veggies. The next day, we either have another hot pot or we use the leftovers & throw it all in a pot to make a ‘soup’. This sujebi was made with the soup so it contains: chicken, frozen seafoods, napa cabbage, & some fish balls/tofu. I usually do this with my fav thick rice noodles but I had an opened bag of sujebi, so I used sujebi. Any noodle works.
Tumblr media
Sujebi #4 . .. lol bcos I have to use up my sujebi.
Tumblr media
Cucumber + egg stir-fry
Tumblr media
Leftover yookgaejang with thick rice noodles. AHHH SO GOOD!!!!
Tumblr media
This doesn’t look pleasing but I swear it was good! At the beginning of the month, my mom had prepared (ie: de-boned) chicken drumsticks, where she separated the bone from the meat but kept the meat ‘together’ in one whole piece as she deboned. We had plans to use the portable BBQ outside for the chicken thigh fillets; however plans changed. .. we didn’t do that. Instead, I used the chicken fillet pieces to make fried chicken ^^ I didn’t bother cutting the pieces into smaller pieces so that’s why they’re in such large chunks haha
Tumblr media
Cheongguk-jang soup. Cheongguk-jang is an extra fermented soybean soup. It’s more savoury & has a greater depth of flavour profile compared to the regular soybean soup (the doenjang). As I’ve mentioned in the past, after trying this since. .. 2yrs ago, I now can’t really go back to doenjang anymore. That almost seems too bland to me. Cheongguk-jang typically includes the common ingredients like onion, zucchini, pork, tofu. .. I skipped the meats & just used zucchini, onion, & napa cabbage. The soup turned out very well!
Tumblr media
I fried pork cutlet for the first time. I’ve fried chicken many times but not pork cutlet. I left it frying for soooo long bcos I was scared the pork wouldn’t be cooked thoroughly haha the sauce on the side is just a mix of bbq sauce with ketchup.
Tumblr media
*that ripped off part was the 30% off sticker :P
This was a very interesting dip. .. it was heavily garlicky & a little spicy. I didn’t get much “Mexican spice” out of it, which was slightly disappointing but I still was ok with it.
Tumblr media
I had the dip around for literally dayyyyyyyysss. It’s quite heavy & salty. It doesn’t really go with anything else I eat normally. So I used it as a pasta sauce. It looks more yellow than it really is IRL. The photo makes it look like that Kraft Dinner ‘fake’ cheese colour but it’s really not! I cooked this late at night for lunch the next day so the lighting is not great. It was alright. Made good use of the dip.
Tumblr media
Random Korean snacks I still have lying around my house. .. expired, but still tasty!
I was munching on the above snack & reading a webtoon called MONEY GAME for about 10 days in October. You guys should read it. The length isn’t too long. I found some parts lagged a little bit, but overall, I really enjoyed the series. It’s surprising to me that it was released Squid Game. They shall similar themes - namely a group of ppl in a closed setting interacting with each other, & they play a “money game” for the grand prize.
Tumblr media
This is a cheaper way of having naengmyeon - buy the noodles & broth separately instead of the kit! Hmart had 2 types of broth. I’ll try the other one next time, but this beef-based broth was delicious. I found 1 soup serving for 1 noodle serving a bit off, as in there was more soup. In the future, I’ll likely use 1.5 noodles for 1 soup. I haven’t figured it out yet... The noodles are individual ‘servings’ but they’re not individually wrapped so I separated the 10 servings & put them into ziploc bags myself (& froze them).
Tumblr media
PLAIN CHEESE RAMYEON~
Tumblr media
Another ramyeon I ate this month bcos that’s my quota lol Used up leftover hot pot materials.
Tumblr media
Imitation flat bread using naan. Toppings: corned beef, cherry tomatoes, Babybels, & garlic seasoning. This was gooooood!
That is it~
Sorry for the slightly late post.. . been busy lately. I’ve been watching badminton & gahhhhh Short Track 22/23 season has officially started with the 1st stop in Montreal this past wknd. Super exciting stuff!!! Salt Lake City in a few days :D
PS: I’m sad Choi Min Jung didn’t get gold. .. Same with Lee June Seo =(  Hopefully in Salt Lake City!

Tumblr media
w/ estimated calories
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
sashimi
for 1oz of bluefin tuna it’s 40c, 6.5p
for 1oz of salmon it’s 50c, 5.5p
depending on which you get, it can be lower as well!
chickfila
whenever i have to get fast food i always get one of two things at chickfila and it’ll be either..
a spicy southwest salad w/ spicy grilled fillet; remove the cheese, seasoned tortilla strips, and chili lime pepitas along with exchanging the dressing for the lite italian
215c, 24p
or a grilled chicken sandwich wrapped in lettuce (only w tomato)
120c, 21p
yogurt + fruit
honestly, any yogurt and fruit combination is something that’ll be low calorie and fill you up!
photo #1 would be around 250c~~?
(60 for the yogurt, 81 for the chocolate, estimating around 65 for the grapes and maybe 40 for blueberries?)
photo #2 would be around 250c~~ as well?
(150 for the yogurt, and roughly 75-100 for watermelon?)
of course, depending on what brand you use and how much of each item you add, the total will change. but overall, everything is relatively low calorie and you can switch it all around!
sandwiches
now for me, i always though of a sandwich as a high calorie item and feared them. but now, because i found the right ingredients, its one of my safe foods!
i use better goods brand keto bread which is 35c, 4p and 10g… of fiber 😭
but it’s a super good alternative to other options!
the sandwich in the photo is around 150c!
(70 for the bread, 50 for 2oz turkey breast, give or take 5-10 for the tomato and lettuce, 25 for a laughing low lite cheese) + sriracha
there’s tons of protein in this meal and it fills you up for soooo long! again, the calories really matter on what you choose to make it with, but it can be a lower option.
pairing it with a fruit of course raises the total calories, but also makes it more like a meal :)
“burrito bowl”
i say this in quotes because it isn’t exactly a burrito bowl LMAO
in the photo i used cauliflower rice, lettuce, fat free mozzarella, rotisserie chicken, black beans, pico de gallo, and sriracha
my estimate was right around 250c for the entire bowl and it was honestly pretty good! i’m pretty sure i logged it wrong though, so i’m not gonna give an entire breakdown for it 🤕!
stir fries
another amazing low calorie option is a stir fry, you just have to watch what you put in the sauce.
both options were under 300c, photo #1 less than the other.
in photo #1, i stir fried mushroom, bell pepper, broccoli, and carrots. i probably just made a sauce with lower sodium soy sauce, chicken stock, garlic, and a very small amount of cornstarch for thickening.
in photo #2, i stir fried mushrooms, carrots and radish in a low sodium soy sauce. on the side i had around 2oz of chicken breast lunch meat and had a small fruit bowl! its a really balanced meal and honestly kept me full for hours!
now, these are all just ideas but we do have to fuel ourselves sometimes, and making these meals in front of others could reduce concerns for you. the community has to help eachother 🤞🏻
thank you for reading all the way up to here if you got to this point :)

The Ultimate Fried Chicken Sandwich: A Crispy Delight
The fried chicken sandwich has become a beloved staple in the world of fast food and gourmet kitchens alike. With its crispy, juicy chicken fillet, soft toasted bun, and an array of toppings, it’s no wonder this sandwich has taken center stage on menus around the globe. Whether you’re grabbing one from your favorite fast-food chain or making it at home, the fried chicken sandwich offers a mouthwatering experience that satisfies cravings for something crunchy, savory, and filling. Let’s dive into the components and history of this culinary classic.
Tumblr media
Origins of the Fried Chicken Sandwich
The fried chicken sandwich as we know it today has a rich history. Fried chicken itself has been a popular dish for centuries, with roots in Southern American cuisine, influenced by Scottish frying techniques and West African seasonings. The sandwich version became widely popular in the United States during the mid-20th century, particularly in the 1960s when fast-food chains like Chick-fil-A introduced their own take on the dish.
Over time, the fried chicken sandwich has evolved. From humble fast food beginnings, it has now become a trendy item in upscale restaurants, food trucks, and home kitchens. Each establishment puts its own unique spin on the classic, adding gourmet toppings, inventive sauces, and creative sides.
The Perfect Fried Chicken
At the heart of a great fried chicken sandwich is the chicken itself. Typically made from a chicken breast or thigh fillet, the key to perfection lies in the preparation and cooking technique. First, the chicken is marinated to lock in moisture and flavor. Common marinades include buttermilk, which tenderizes the meat and adds a subtle tang. Some variations use brine or even pickle juice for extra flavor.
After marinating, the chicken is dredged in a seasoned flour mixture, sometimes with added cornstarch for extra crispiness. Spices such as paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper are common in the breading, providing a flavorful kick that pairs beautifully with the fried, crunchy texture.
The chicken is then fried to golden perfection, either in deep oil or a skillet. The result should be a crispy, flavorful exterior and a juicy, tender interior. This balance of textures is what makes a fried chicken sandwich so irresistible.
The Bread and Toppings
A great fried chicken sandwich needs the right bun to complete the experience. Most often, a soft brioche or potato bun is used, offering a pillowy texture that complements the crunch of the chicken. The bun is typically toasted lightly, giving it a warm, slightly crispy edge.
When it comes to toppings, the sky's the limit. A traditional fried chicken sandwich may include simple toppings like pickles, lettuce, and mayo. However, many modern versions go beyond the basics, offering coleslaw, spicy aioli, cheese, and bacon for extra flavor.
Pickles are a must-have for many, providing a tangy contrast to the richness of the fried chicken. Lettuce adds a refreshing crunch, while mayo or aioli enhances the overall creaminess. Some prefer spicy sauces or even honey to create a sweet and savory combination.
Variations of the Fried Chicken Sandwich
Though the classic version remains a favorite, variations of the fried chicken sandwich have emerged. Spicy versions, such as Nashville hot Grilled Chicken Sandwich, have gained popularity, featuring chicken coated in a fiery spice mix. Some opt for Asian-inspired flavors, with ingredients like kimchi, gochujang, or soy-based glazes.
Another popular variation is the fried chicken biscuit sandwich, where the traditional bun is replaced with a flaky biscuit, creating a Southern-inspired dish. In some gourmet renditions, chefs experiment with unique toppings like avocado, pimento cheese, or even truffle aioli.
