Testing out the "real" setting on my "new" Sony DSC-f828 idk if it's a setting but my camera has been making parallel JPEG images without the filter but it's interesting to compare the two photos

in 2004, after being tired of working meaningless jobs, I bought my first camera. The Sony DSC-F828 ran me $450 and I was nervous as fuck about it. You see, I had literally no professional experience shooting pictures, I just knew that taking pictures made me feel complete. Chasing that feeling,  I was EVERYWHERE with that thing shooting graffiti and trees and rocks and burgers… but not people. I was neither interested in nor inclined to shoot people at the time (because I was approaching what would be a very hectic divorce).BUT this woman I was fucking came to see me and we took pictures, she was a HUGE glamour model and those shots went what amounted in 2004 to VIRAL. suddenly people saw me and my work and it was like hey come shoot me too so I took a LONG look at myself to ask myself what I really wanted from life. Telling stories from behind the lens became a DEEP love because it allowed me to see the world the way I wanted to see it and had not a damned person to tell me what that was supposed to be. I would be Free.

Street festival in our downtown area. Shot with my old-school (circa 2004) Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 8mp digicam. It’s actually still a great camera, very versatile with the body that TILTS SEPARATELY FROM THE LENS, and also shoots video - just not HD. It even has a Carl Zeiss T* zoom lens!

Kenai, City of Lights Well, at least when the atmospheric conditions are right. These light pillars are the result of teeny-tiny flat snowflakes or disks of ice reflecting mostly in the vertical plane due to aerodynamics. The first shot of with the Sony DSC-F828 in full-spectrum mode. The second is with the DSC-HX400V, as is the video, both being much more like what you'd see in person. The blinking pillar is actually the rotating airport beacon, illustrating the very linear and vertical nature of this phenomenon. This was shot from the sports fields north of town. #sonydscf828 #sonydschx400v #sonydsc #sonycybershot #SonyCameras #lightpillars #lightspires #atmosphericphenomenon #kenai #kenaialaska #kenaimunicipalairport #kenaimunicipalairportbeacon #alaska #alaskaphotography (at Kenai, Alaska) https://www.instagram.com/p/CWw0GlzFI4j/?utm_medium=tumblr

At a local street art festival in our downtown, featuring acrobats, musicians, etc. Shot with my old-skool (circa 2004) Sony Cybershot DSC-F828 digicam - it’s only a miniscule for today 8mp image, but it’s still a great camera with a 4 color CCD, a lens that tilts SEPARATELY FROM THE BODY, switchable eyefinder/lcd viewfinder (which was a new innovation then), and even a Carl Zeiss T* zoom lens! It also shoots video, but not in HD.
