for anyone interested -
i watched acharya and i am disappointed but not surprised. they've released it right after rrr so they can cover up costs just through the hype coz neither the plot nor the writing was going to help this movie.
it was pretty lackluster and charan tried but literally nothing was working. sure he looked great but his character lacked depth, so did chiranjeevi's. like the script was so poor and none of their emotions got to me. like zero. you feel so detached from the characters and their journey. especially chiranjeevi's, like he is supposed to be all mysterious in the beginning but you're just like "okay now get on with it". the story itself seemed like a poor mashup of rangasthalam and bahubali.
i somehow loved sonu sood more than chiranjeevi and charan. and i think thats because of his own ability to bring something to the table without the script or directions help.
i dont know how they managed to do it, but the bhale bhale banjaara song (one of my two main reasons to go watch this movie) fell so fucking flat in the movie and i dont understand it. if i listen to the song standalone, its such a bop. but it seemed so bleh in the movie.
i was expecting to see kajal aggarwal in the laahe laahe song atleast but she was nowhere to be seen. that was quite sad.
the stuff i liked -
i love to watch violence. south indian action films don't hesitate to show gore and this was similar. so i liked the action sequences.
the colors in this movie are beautiful, cinematography is well done. i almost considered this as one of those high resolution videos that tv stores have on to show how amazing the tv is.
this is probably just me but i managed to get a hint of gayness between charan's and sonu sood's characters. it was really really short lived so it doesn't really matter but fine, i'll take it.
ram charan is aesthetically very pleasing to look at.
yeah, that's it.
since we had a discussion on this before -

★ EXCLUSIVE! Salman Khan on completing 3 decades in the industry: This has been the best journey ever !
Samina Shaikh | Dec 17, 2019
On a Saturday evening, the ‘Dabangg’ Khan made an entry at the Mehboob Studios and there is a frozen moment for the paparazzi who are glaring at him for a candid capture! At his jovial best, Salman Khan encouraged the media to do the ‘Munna Badnaam’ hook step with him. The actor then headed towards his tent where he indulged in an exclusive conversation with us talking about ‘Dabangg 3’, working with South stars, completing 3 decades in the industry, birthday plans and much more. Here are the excerpts from the interview:
‘Dabangg 3’ is set for release, and you’ve taken an integral part in the scripting of this one, what was the thought process behind it? There was no thought process in this one. Thoughts just kept on flowing in. That is how this one was done. We brothers were sitting and chilling and we just thought that we should do ‘Dabangg’. How we should do ‘Dabangg’? We should get into New York, we should get into these places, I said no yaar. I said we should show how he became ‘Chulbul Pandey’. And that’s how it started falling in place. That’s how we started working on it. This is a very organic one for us. Very organic one! Because of the way one and two were written, it was easy for us to continue. But it also took 7 years for ‘Dabangg 3’ to release
We had already had that thing. Then I got busy into a lot of other films. So then, we got this time frame to do. So we did it in this time frame. You recently said at a promotional event that it’s not easy to work on a sequel because there are high expectations. What excited you to go for it and how did you convince Arbaaz Khan for ‘Dabangg 3’? The script. The script is always the most interesting part. If the script is interesting. you know, I'm interested. I'm interested, fans are interested. So that’s how it basically works. There were kickass dialogues in ‘Dabangg’ which became the USP of the movies. In ‘Dabangg 3’ what can one see? If something you can say, what is the USP of this one? (Laughs)We have a lot of things in this one and it is not forced. Now that Chulbul Pandey has become a caricature of himself. He's still the same guy. He's got more depth in fact. But he's the way he is. So the way he reacts to a situation, how he reacts in a serious situation, how he reacts is a comedy situation…When will he get irritated, when will he enjoy, what will be the counter dialogue? All these things are something to look for! Will we actually get to see a fan’s dialogue in the movie because you had a contest regarding it? You will see a lot of things in the film. Also these dialogues were not inspired by anywhere. They are original. Different kinds of dialogues, different kinds of scenes, which you can’t put in any other film. ‘Munni Badnaam’ was a famous song back then and it created a world record. With ‘Munna Badnaam’ can we get to see something like creating a world record? It just got released. It’s doing very well, let’s just see first. You launched Sonakshi Sinha in ‘Dabangg’ and it was an epic launch and now you have launched Saiee Manjrekar. What’s the quality is Saiee that stood out according to you? At that point of time the ‘Rajjo’ character needed Sonakshi and this time the character actually demanded Saiee Manjrekar. Saiee’s innocence, her sincerity, the way she is, the camera loves. Everything about her will stand out. When it comes to music, we have seen you humming a lot of old songs, at promotional events. In ‘Dabangg 3’, will we get to see that retro effect with the music, the kind of music you like? The kind of music ‘Dabangg’ has, you can’t hear that kind of music in any other film. Dabangg has got it’s own ‘Naina’... ‘Hud Hud’... ‘Munna Badnaam’... Dabangg has its own genre of music. So it’s very difficult to find that Dabangg kind of music in any film. So, so far we've been very happy and very lucky as well to get these kind of songs now, earlier and in the second one is well. Because it's a different kind of music. And people seem to like that but it's the same music in some other films will not work. The villain plays a crucial role in the movie and like you know in the earlier ones had Sonu Sood and Prakash Raj and now Kichcha Sudeep. What do you have to say about him and will you prefer venturing into South cinema? So this one first we are trying to release it there and let's see how this one does there because this is also their kind of film with a lot of heroism, songs, dance, emotions and family. So this is one actual film from here which fits into the South format of movies. Which their stars do. Like ‘Dabangg’ was also remade there. Very few movies…First, all our movies used to be remade there, especially my Dad’s movies. And then we started taking a lot of their remakes. In fact, I myself have done two. And ‘Dabangg’ was one which was remade there. So let’s see what happens. It will release in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu. So now let’s see how the audience there accept us like the way we have accepted ‘Bahubali’ and their actors like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan and Chiru Babua and others. What was your Dad’s feedback on ‘Dabangg 3’? Well he's liked it. He's liked it a lot. Otherwise, we had to leave our houses. Outdoors, outdoors, Outdoors... You have completed three decades in the industry starting from ‘Biwi Ho Toh Aisi’ to ‘Dabangg 3’, what do you’ve to say about it? This has been the best journey ever. What are your birthday celebration plans? So another generation will come in and we are going to spend time with them.

Woman asks Sonu Sood to help reach beauty parlour, his hilarious reply has Twitter laughing out loud - bollywood
https://liveindiatimes.com/woman-asks-sonu-sood-to-help-reach-beauty-parlour-his-hilarious-reply-has-twitter-laughing-out-loud-bollywood/
Sonu Sood has become a messiah for stranded migrants in Mumbai by arranging buses for them to travel back to their respective hometowns. He has even launched a toll-free helpline through which one can reach out to his team for help.
Even as Sonu has been flooded with messages from migrants, some fans made funny requests to him. One Twitter user said that she has not been to a parlour in two-and-a-half months and jokingly asked the actor to help her reach one.
“@SonuSood can u pls help me 2 and half months se mene parlour nahi visit kiya, pls help me muje salon pohcha dijiye (I have not visited a parlour for two-and-a-half months, please help me reach a salon). just kidding u r a real hero (nayak) god bless u,” she wrote.
Sonu’s hilarious response has netizens in splits. “Salon jaa kar kya karoge? Salon wale ko toh main uske gaon chhod ke aa gaya. Uske peeche-peeche uske gaon jaana hai toh bolo (What will you go to the salon for? I have sent the salon employees to their villages. If you want to follow them to their village, let me know),” he quipped. His tweet has got more than 25,000 likes.

Talking about his humanitarian gestures, Sonu told Hindustan Times in a recent interview, “It has been an extremely emotional journey for me, as my heart pains to see these migrants staying away from their homes and trying to walk all the way home. I will continue sending migrants home until the last migrant reunites with his family and loved ones. This is something really close to my heart and I will give it my all.”

"Sarkar agar humare liye kuchh nahi bhi karega, toh Sonu Sood toh humara madad karega (Even if the government does not help us, Sonu Sood will),” said 24-year-old Sahidul Barbhuiya, who was at the time stranded in Mumbai as the train he was supposed to board for his home in Assam was cancelled due to Cyclone Nisarga on Wednesday. Barbhuiya lost his job when the canteen he worked for in Pune shut down during the Covid-19 lockdown. His small savings soon ran out and he had to surrender his accommodation. The only refuge he could think of was “home”. He managed to reach Mumbai on a bus but could not go any further as the train got cancelled. Taking refuge under a bridge at the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus in Kurla, he and his co-passengers reached out to Sood for help, and they were not disappointed. Sood and his team arranged accommodation for them at a school nearby and have assured that they would be home soon. Barbhuiya said they were well taken care of and he and the other 150 people with him had “bharosa” (faith) that Sood would deliver on his promise. Sood, who was known as an actor in 21st century BC (Before Covid-19), has emerged as the most unlikely superhero during the pandemic. For thousands of migrants, he is the man who helped them at a time when they were gripped with fear and were walking an uncertain path with no support or even an assurance that all would be well. For the more privileged people, who felt helpless at the plight of the men, women and children walking across the country with little food in their belly and dwindling hope in their heart, Sood was doing what they could not. “I had no formula on how to help them, but there was this intention that I will not let these migrants walk home. We started by sending some hundreds home but now I am determined not to stop until the last mi-grant on the road has reached home,” Sood told ET Magazine in between calls from migrants asking for help. 76242142Sood has been involved in charitable work through his trust, Professor Saroj Sood Trust, named after his mother. He grew up in Punjab watching his mother tutor underprivileged children for free and his father offer langar from his cloth shop in Moga. “They drilled into me that you are truly successful only if you help others.”Sood opened the doors of his hotel in Juhu to healthcare workers of nearby hospitals who were treating Covid-19 patients. He, along with his friend Neeti Goel, a Mumbai-based restaurateur, and their team has so far sent around 20,000 people home by buses, trains and even flights. They have sent people on two Shramik trains so far. They now have a list of 70,000 people who they are trying to send home over the next two weeks through trains. They are talking to the government to allow four more Shramik trains as the number is too big to be transported by buses. Actor Boman Irani, who has worked with Sood in the past, says he is not surprised that Sood rose to the occasion during the crisis. “He is the sort of guy who slams his big fist on his chest and says ‘don’t worry I am with you’. Many people have the intention to do things but he has acted on it. Just being jazbaati (emotional) is not enough. He is an intelligent man who is capable of planning and is resourceful enough to execute it.”Irani said that while the film industry has always helped in times of crisis, this often goes unnoticed or gets criticised. “Sonu’s work will motivate film and even non-film people to do more. Everyone has to do whatever one can do best, in one’s capacity.” Soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a nationwide lockdown in March, thousands of migrant workers lost their livelihoods. With no source of income, fear of starvation, panic about Covid-19 and suspension of trains and buses, these people decided to walk hundreds of kilometres in the scorching heat to reach their villages, the only safe haven where they felt they belonged.Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a stimulus package for around 80 million migrants. Critics said it was too little, too late and estimated the number of migrants to be significantly higher. Many non-government organisations and individuals like Sood and Goel have been feeding these people since the beginning of the lockdown. Sood and Goel started small but soon they were providing 45,000 meals a day on their own and in association with an NGO, Khaana Chahiye Organization, apart from feeding 1,000 stray cats and dogs, and supplying ration kits. They provided 25,000 iftar kits a day during Ramzan. On a routine food distribution trip on May 3, they realised this was not enough. “We sensed a huge change in the behaviour of migrants. They had lost hope, they were dejected, there was desperation to go back home and there was a lot of aggression. We were talking to one group walking back home and they said — humein bas ghar jaana hai, humein aapka khana bhi nahi chahiye (We don’t need your food, we want to go home). That’s when we decided to send them home,” Goel said. In the next few days, they booked 10 buses and sent people home. Soon, Sood and Goel’s numbers were circulating among migrants and pictures and videos of buses went viral on social media. They were flooded with requests for help. They set up a toll-free number that crashed after it was flooded with calls. “Sonu sir help kar raha hai ye toh viral ho gaya tha, unko Odisha se log ne bola humare bare mein. Sonu sir sara kharcha kiya aur pura madad kiya humko ghar pahuchane mein (Sonu’s work has gone viral and some people from Odisha asked him to help us. He bore all our expenses and ensured we reached home),” said Prasanta Kumar Pradhan. Pradhan, who was working in Kerala as a plumber, along with 147 women and 20 other men, was flown back home to Odisha by Sood.Sood and Goel financed the initiative themselves initially, but soon help started to pour in from friends who wanted to be part of it. A crowdfunding initiative, named Ghar Bhejo, raised over Rs 52 lakh, which included donations of Rs 10 and above. Many others donated directly to Lala Bhagwandas Trust, a 35-year-old trust set up by Goel’s family, towards the cause. Friends, family, people from the film industry, cricketers and businessmen were among the donors, giving anywhere between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 30 lakh, Goel said. 76237974Cricketer Harbhajan Singh took to social media to promote the campaign and is believed to have roped in other cricketers too.The more challenging part was getting approval from different states, managing all the paper-work for everyone, even for those who didn’ have relevant documents, and working out the logistics of transport.Sood roped in his chartered accountant Pankaj Jalisatgi and his colleague Harsh Sikariya to manage the paperwork. Around 40 volunteers are dedicated to feeding people, while a group of 18-20 people is managing travel-related work.Sood’s experience of working in the movies in Hyderabad and Chennai came in handy as friends, and associates there helped him get clearances for the movement of the migrants. “The government has done its bit. But when it realised that the migrants are not going to stop, that they are walking on highways, it should have acted soon by allowing buses at least within the state. They could have taken multiple buses to get home and that would have reduced their pain and even the accidents. Immediate action would have helped because they were an unstoppable force,” Sood said. While sending these people home, Sood and Goel ensured the buses are packed with meals, crates of fruit, dry snacks and enough water to ensure people have nourishment. “I have done long journeys in buses and trains, sometimes even unreserved. I know how tough it can get,” Sood said.Sonu and Goel have received photos from almost every migrant after reaching home and reuniting with their family. Goel was overwhelmed sharing stories of the pictures she has received. “There have been days we have spent 18-20 hours on this, but it has been worth it. I now know that real happiness comes from uplifting others, not from splurging on designer shoes and bags,” Goel said. Sood even heard from a migrant who told him that she has named her son Sonu Sood Srivastav. “I told her your son can be Sonu Srivastav but she insisted that the name would be Sonu Sood Srivastav!” 76238125The team now feels they have a streamlined system in place and can handle the transport of people better. They are now moving people on new circuits like Jammu to Ranchi. But Sood is also aware of the fact that this is not the end of challenges for these people. “They have gone home due to strong emotions but they need to do something to survive. As a country, we have to generate work for them, whether it is in construction or something else, to ensure they have a source of income,” said Sood.Sood said he has tried to keep his initiative away from politics. He also dismissed rumours that he may join a political party soon, adding that he has never planned his life decisions. But he is sure that helping people will become more integral to his life, going ahead. Sood said, “When someone gets a role that they are good at, they excel. That’s what has happened to me. This is the role of my lifetime. It feels like I came to Mumbai for this and everything I did has led to this. The mission of making every person on the road reach home will be my biggest blockbuster.”76168859 from Economic Times https://ift.tt/3eRTp5w

01/8Allu Arjun turns 37: 7 Best Performances of Tollywood’s Stylish Star
Allu Arjun always manages to stay amid the headlines be it for his on-screen performances or off-screen style statements. His superior dancing skills, charismatic screen-presence and the ability to entertain has struck the right chord with the younger audience of both the Telugu states, Kerala and some parts of north India. Popularly called as the Stylish Star of South cinema, the ‘Arya’ actor has recently delivered the highest-grossing film of his 17-year-old film career titled Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
Allu Arjun is celebrating his 37th birthday on April 8 (Wednesday). Amid the prevailing lockdown in the country, he is enjoying his self-quarantine by spending some quality time with his family. Recently, a leaked video showed the Mega hero and his wife Sneha Reddy getting mesmerised by their kids’ performance at a school event. On the work front, Allu Arjun is gearing up for Sukumar’s rustic actioner featuring Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. On his special day, check out some of Bunny’s best performances on the celluloid.

02/8Arya (2004)
Sukumar’s directorial debut “Arya” was certainly that one film that turned the tables for Allu Arjun in Telugu cinema. Though he made a successful debut with “Gangotri”, major chunk of the credit went to K Raghavendra Rao and MM Keeravani. But with Arya, Allu Arjun proved his versatility when it came to emoting skills, screen-presence and dance. He looked natural in his histrionics, believable in stunts and impeccable in pulling off some hard dance moves. When compared to his debut film, he even got a makeover and worked on his body and looks big-time.

03/8Vedam (2010)
Allu Arjun’s portrayal as Cable Raju in “Vedam” is considered as one of his finest performances till date. Especially, his emotional act towards the climax has left the audience teary-eyed. Starring an ensemble star cast of Anushka Shetty, Manchu Manoj and Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles, Vedam is the second directorial of Krish Jagarlamudi and perhaps his best, as he defied stereotypes and presented a powerful story using the hyperlink format. The anthology film dealt with several social issues like the Hindu-Muslim conflicts, lives of prostitutes, exploitation of the poor by the money-lenders, and the ever-prevailing financial disparity.

04/8Rudhramadevi (2015)
While Anushka Shetty delivered a terrific performance in the titular role of Rani Rudrama Devi, Allu Arjun stole the show as the enigmatic and rebellious, Gona Ganna Reddy in “Rudhramadevi”. Despite having a short runtime, the Stylish Star shined in some whistle-worthy scenes in the film and his impeccable dialogues in Telangana diction went on to create a rage in the theaters. He looked believable as Gona Ganna Reddy in the specially designed black outfit and attracted the masses big-time.

05/8Julayi (2012)
Julayi marked the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Trivikram Srinivas, and the duo didn’t disappoint. Revolving around a bank robbery, the action comedy connected with the audience big-time owing to the engaging narration, commercial elements and the terrific performances of seasoned actors like Kota Srinivasa Rao, Sonu Sood, Rajendra Prasad and Brahmanandam. Starring Ileana D’Cruz as the female lead, the Devi Sri Prasad musical grossed a worldwide total of approx. Rs 40 crore.

06/8S/O Satyamurthy (2015)
Allu Arjun teamed up with Samantha Akkineni for the first time in S/O Satyamurthy. Starring an ensemble star cast like Sree Vishnu, Nithya Menen, Sneha and Kannada star Upendra in pivotal roles, the Trivikram directorial connected well with both the Telugu and Malayalam audience owing to the emotional plot, meaningful dialogues, beautiful songs and the terrific performances from the cast. In its full run, S/O Satyamurthy grossed a total of approx. Rs 90 crore.

07/8Sarrainodu (2016)
Director Boyapati Srinu succeeded in bringing out the aggressive side of Bunny in the 2016 high-octane actioner Sarrainodu. Starring Rakul Preet Singh and Catherine Tresa as the leading ladies, the film ended up as a major commercial success at the global box-office. While Allu Arjun stole the show with his dynamic act, Aadhi Pinisetty looked menacing as the antagonist. Besides the peppy numbers, the action sequences in the film worked well with the viewers. Sarrainodu grossed a worldwide gross of approx. Rs 127 crore in its full run.
readmore
08/8Race Gurram (2014)
Race Gurram registered a stupendous victory in 2014 by grossing a worldwide total of approx. Rs 59 crore. Starring Shruti Haasan as the leading lady, the Surender Reddy directorial struck the right chord with the masses with its comedy quotient, action sequences and the foot-tapping numbers composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Allu Arjun shouldered the film with his remarkable performance and killer dance moves.

Film Review: ‘Chhichhore’

Chichore, a word that is used extensively for "boys" who are not well-behaved or who don't follow rules but you'll never hear this word once in the 146 minutes long runtime of movie with the same title. Keep on reading to know about Film Review Chhichhore.
So why it is called chichore ? Well that question hardly stikes you and even if it does then it doesn't bother you because you have got enough moments in the film to think of rather than figuring out why it is named chhichore.
Nitesh tiwari the guy who struck "Gold medal" with his first movie is back again. This time not with an established superstar, not with a success story and with a non-holiday release.
And the biggest risk that Nitesh takes with this film is it's plot, which is exactly opposite of his first Blockbuster.
The story of chhichore revolves around Aniruddh played by Sushant singh rajput and Maya played by Shraddha Kapoor who have separated after marriage. They are both trying to prove each other's fault during which their son tries to commit suicide when he comes to know that he has failed in IIT entrance.
While the doctors are trying to cure him with medicines and even surgery. Aniruddh tries to get him back to life with typical bollywood formula. What follows after is a two hour long stretched version of 3 idiots's "Jaane nahi denge tujhe" and "Jo jeeta wahi Sikander" mashup.
What works for Chichore is it's rawness, it's not covered like other college dramas. It is unapologetic about the stupidity of it's situations and characters on a level that after a while you start loving it.
Talking about the performance the biggest let down for this flick is it's lead pair Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor. You can still see MSD in sushant while he is walking in his campus, more over that he looks like a guy high on testosterone injections in his 40s. I personally don't know why Shraddha Kapoor after her so many performance failure's is still "in demand". She is the weakest actor and character in the film .
But what works for the film is it's supporting cast Varun sharma, Naveen Polishetty, Tahir raj bhasin, Tushar pandey, Sharash shukla carry this film on their brilliant performances.
The film also stars pratik babbar who surprisingly looks like college version of "Sonu Sood villainism". Mohammad samad who plays the son of the leading duo is good in his parts.
While the actors have done complete justice to their characters (except the lead duo) the fact that none of them looks like a first year student may bother you. It would have been better if the director had used a younger cast.
Apart from casting the most flawed thing about the film is it's screenplay which is consistently inconsistent. It rushes in first 30 minutes then suddenly drops in second half and then picks up the pace. Unlike dangal this movie is not that good when it comes to evoking emotions. Read till the end to know what's at the end of film review Chhichhore.
The one good thing about the writing is the screen space, almost every character has got enough time to prove its importance in the storyline. Tahir raj bhasin's character is one of the things that saves the movie from its lead actor's ordinary performance.
Talking about direction, Nitesh tiwary this time tries to do something that is exact opposite of his earlier flick. This time he is explaining you the importance of losing instead. And in this process he doesn't lose you even in the dullest moments. And that is where you know that this man is not an one time shot. He is here to stay for a long time.
The only thing that you will badly miss in this film is the music, pritam's music and amitabh bhattacharya's lyrics surprisingly don't weave the magic one expects from the duo. Except Khairiyat( which is there in the film for just 10 seconds) there is nothing good to remember about the album. Filmi Files are the best place to check out movies reviews online.
At last we would say that Chhichore is not 3 Idiots but it is also not SOTY, it carries a philosophy that we very often see in bollywood movies or in cinema general. It doesn't have any heroes or villains, it has memories that are enough to keep you engaged in it for more than 2 hours. Hope you like the complete film review Chhichhore.
Go watch it with your friends and chhichoras.

'Simmba' Trailer: Ranveer Singh's Dabangg-meets-Singham avatar packs a punch, Sara Ali Khan is a breath of fresh air
'Simmba' Trailer: Ranveer Singh's Dabangg-meets-Singham avatar packs a punch, Sara Ali Khan is a breath of fresh air - The makers of Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan starrer Simmba have finally unveiled its much awaited trailer and going by the looks of it, the film seems to have all the ingredients of a typical commercial potboiler. One glance at the trailer and you'd know that all the essential ingredients of a typical Rohit Shetty film are peppered in generous amounts throughout! Be it the vibrant colour palatte, larger-than-life song and dance routines or the jaw-dropping action sequences, Simmba has it all. The Simmba trailer begins with flashes of Ajay Devgn's Bajirao Singham narrting how a small boy got influenced to be like him on growing up, while he (Singham) was busy performing his duties as a loyal police officer. This young lad grows up to be Sangram Bhalerao (Ranveer), who is pretty much like Singham in terms of strength (and much more in terms of the muscles) but differs with the ' inspiration' in terms of ideology. As the trailer progresses, Bhalerao shamelessly admits that he became a police officer to earn loads of money and not because he wanted to help the needy like Robin Hood (Dabangg deja vu anyone?). He takes bribe from the local goon (Sonu Sood) and also serenades his lady love (Sara Ali Khan) amidst picturesque locales. All is going well until a tragedy befalls and his mooh-boli-behen gets raped. The said incident turns Sangram into an enraged-but-responsible police officer. The rest of the trailer goes on to give us glimpses of how and what Sangram does to punish the rapists. The fact that Simmba deals with the subject of captial punishment for rapists is evident in the trailer. The trailer ends with the screen-shattering (quite literally!) entry of Ajay Devgn in his Singham avatar! Simmba trailer seems to be the answer to what happens when 'Dabangg' meets 'Singham'. Ranveer Singh seems to be in his element and looks top-notch. He aces his part and doesn't miss a single beat. Be it comic timing or anger, he aces every emotion with aplomb. We had been hoping for him to collaborate with Rohit Shetty ever since the latter directed him for the first time in a TVC for a noodles brand. We knew that whenever these two will come together, the product will be nothing less than fireworks and here it is! Sara Ali Khan, who makes her debut with Kedarnath this week, however, has little to do in Simmba it seems, except smile, dance and romance. However, this is solely on the basis of what we see in the 2 minute 54 seconds long trailer, in which she gets her first (and only) line after we've already seen half the trailer, ie., at one minute 54 seconds. Her introduction shot in the trailer has her like a breath of fresh air. We sincerely hope there's more to her character in the film, than what we see in the trailer. Watch the Simmba trailer right here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtFY3WHztZc It's so so nice to see Sonu Sood back on screen doing what he does best. He does remind us of his Chhedi Singh character but what-the-heck! He nails his act and he does it bloody well. The icing on the cake is hands down Ajay Devgn's cameo in his Bajirao Singham avatar. We're sure giving a sneak-peek of his cameo in the trailer and his voice-over in it, will make sure that the Rohit Shetty film does get a dhamaakedaar opening!. Rohit Shetty's Simmba is a remake of South hit Temper. The movie is presented by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and is slated to hit the theatres on December 28. Filmmaker JP Dutta, who has made several films on India-Pakistan wars, feels that ever-recurring Kashmir issue between both neighbouring countries is like a child of a broken marriage. Dutta was interacting with media at the trailer launch of ‘Paltan’ along with actors Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, Harshvardhan Rane, Gurmeet Chaudhary, Sidhhant Kapoor, Luv Sinha, Monica Gill, Sonal Chauhan, Dipika Kakar, music composer Anu Malik and producer Nidhi Dutta on Thursday in Mumbai.Asked for a comment on the relations between India and Pakistan, Dutta, who has made films like ‘Border’ and ‘LOC Kargil’, said: “They (Pakistan) will not forget Bangladesh and they will always try to take revenge of the 1971 war (where India was instrumental in creating Bangladesh as a separate country which was earlier part of Pakistan).”Dutta said Kashmir is a very emotional issue for both India and Pakistan and both the countries are not ready to keep their egos aside. “I feel Kashmir is like a child of a broken marriage and, therefore, continuously that topic recurs from both sides.” Dutta returned to direction with ‘Paltan’ almost after 12 years when he last directed ‘Umrao Jaan’, which was released in 2006.”I was born to do this job. For me, happiness lies in making films. When I am not making films, I feel sad,” he said. He added “the Almighty has sent him to make films on sacrifice of soldiers for the country”.”When you are born, when you come into this world, and when you are growing up, you realize you have been sent by the Almighty to do a certain job and I think I have been sent to make my soldiers immortal,” Dutta said.About his experience of directing multiple actors in ‘Paltan’, Dutta said: “I have earlier made multi-starrer films like ‘Border’ and ‘LOC Kargil’. I have worked with Vinod Khanna, Dharmendra ji and Sunil Dutt saab in my earlier films. I got immense amount of love, support and respect from those actors. So, I truly feel blessed.” Produced by Zee Studios and J.P. Films, ‘Paltan’ is all set to hit screens on September 7.The Mid.day.com : 3rd. Aug,18
