If NIDS is congenital as suggested by its Japanese naming, I wonder if that means that the Robotnik family line carries the mutation, if Maria's mother (Who wasn't a Robotnik by birth as Maria's father was the Robotnik.) carries the mutation or whether the congenital deformity was spontaneous and only occurred in Maria.

There's also the question of whether it's autosomal recessive or autosomal dominant. If it was inherited genetically and is autosomal recessive then both her mom and dad need to carry a copy of the faulty gene. If autosomal dominant only one parent needs to carry it to have a chance of passing it on. If it is genetic and autosomal dominant, perhaps Dr Eggman is an unaffected carrier and therefore could pass it on to any offspring of his had he cared to have any.

Hell for all I know it could be sex-linked i.e Only affects a specific gender with extremely rare exceptions. Like Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy only affects boys with a 1 in 50,000,000 chance of affecting a girl.

Amy is a twist on the damsel love interest trope

Now that I think abut it, Amy is a cute twist on the "Damsel In Distress love interest" trope in videogames.

Normally the damsel shows up at the end of the game (or at least after the hero defeats a boss) to reward the hero with a smooch fr rescuing them . Amy on the other hand shows up near the beginning of the game and makes heart eyes at her hero (and gets kidnapped AFTER chasing him).

Amy throws herself at Sonic FOR FREE, while most damsel love interests just stand there waiting for the big strong hero to make the first move. Amy proactively chases her love interest Sonic (to his dismay) , though is what gets her kidnapped by evil robot Metal SOnic who holds her captive for the rest of the game .

At the end of Sonic CD, Sonic succeeds in rescuing Amy l , carrying her bridal style until they reach a safe spot. This is the moment in most platformers where the hero would receive a smooch from the damsel he rescued. Sonic instead of getting a smooch, puts Amy down gently and runs away from her . He actively flees her advances instead of embracing like most heroes would

Sonic’s the only Muse that became one against his will (lets be honest, Sonic would never choose to become an immortal deity)

Mortal sonic:

He was a nomad, travelling wherever the wind took him. He loved seeing and learning about the different cultures and traditions he came across, and along the way he became quite the dancer, having learned from different places how they dance and adding parts of it to his own style

But at some point he became a ring fighter

I imagine that he caught the eye of Apollo during a sports competition but im not too sure about the specific details yet tho lol

Sonic definitely didn’t wanna be a muse and was grouchy about the whole situation but decided to try to make the best of it, and after a while he begrudgingly admitted that it wasn’t so bad, specially when he starts a rivalry with the muse of history and things start to get more interesting

Ya think the reason Shadow is so offended by Sonic calling him a Faker is because it's the one thing Shadow is most afraid of? That slim chance that he isn't...real? That he's artificial...a fake?

Something possessed me and uh now I have and intense need for competitive pair skating content with these two duos specifically. Really messy coloring style for me but I kinda dig it. Here's also the first sketches I did of this concept with Shadow that further cemented this idea in my head.

What do you think the first three Great Civilizations were like? My headcanon is that the First was ours, but something happened to end it. Then the Second was a rebuild, and so on.

I'm guessing that Westside Island's past people and the Ancients of the Starfall Islands were at least two of them.

Sonic's cause of death

I don't know why, but i just can't see Sonic dying from natural causes.

I can see him dying from choking to death on a chilidog, experiencing death by misadventure or simply dying in combat though. If Sonic were to die it would most likely be through accidents or murder.

Diamond castle au- Silver as Melody, the muse apprentice!

Son of the muses of dance and history respectively, Silver had been apprenticing under the three muses ever since he was just a young god, all with the intentions of becoming a muse himself one day when he was ready, being inspired by his parents’ beautiful music

However over the centuries as he was growing up, tensions began to grow and grow between his parents, to the point were they could barely stand to be in the same room together without being at each-other’s throats (i mean they usually were at each-other’s throats but the vibe was more venomous than out of sense of competition), so much so that their music wasn’t in harmony anymore, just, like, total dissonance

The arguments got so bad that Silver started spending most of his time with the muse of music, Mephiles, to get away from the fighting. But then Silver overhears that he plans to take over and rule over all arts by himself.

He ran to his parents to tell them what happened and, thinking quickly, the two muses made the decision to hide the castle along with their instruments, telling Silver the key to finding it again just in case something went wrong while they were confronting Mephiles, telling him to get as far away as possible and hide so that, no matter what happens, Mephiles won’t find out the castle

To hide, Silver used his whistle to hide inside a mirror and has been stuck inside for millennium since, stuck in eternal silence for fear of being found. He doesn’t know what happened to his parents but hopes that one day they’ll find him and set him free

…2000 years after he hid inside the mirror, it’s found by two girls with beautiful music
