Crisis On Earth-Four.
Art by Alex Garcia, colors by David Stepp.
This would have made a great story for the annual summer crossover between the Justice League of America and the Justice Society of America, right after DC acquired the Charlton heroes in 1983. However, Crisis On Infinite Earths happened instead.

A character I'd really like to revive is Son of Vulcan. So basically, he was this war journalist who, getting really jaded watching the worst of humanity, stumbles into a temple to the Roman gods and curses them out for letting war exist. So Jupiter summons him and is like "We're gonna execute you for your hubris". But Vulcan comes to his defense, seeing himself in the disabled man and his hatred of Mars, and convinces Jupiter to let him live and be blessed by Vulcan's gifts. His weakness is that if he loses favor with Jupiter or Vulcan his powers are taken away.

Just watched TOS's episode Journey to Babel and there was a moment that had me giggling.
Around 5 minutes in, when Jim is giving Sarek a tour and Spock is not-so-inconspicuously sulking in the foreground with Amanda, Sarek says 'My wife, attend.' which we can presume is a Vulcan thing, probably a nice and polite way of reminding others who your mate is without all of the pre-Surak stabby-ness.
And then not even ten seconds later, when Spock turns to leave, Jim turns to him and says 'Mr. Spock, a moment if you please?'
And I can't help but see the little parallel. Its like Kirk felt the need to also show the room who his boyfriend is but copying Sarek, who Kirk only learned two minutes ago was Spock's dad, would have been a bit too cheeky. First meeting with the in-laws and all that.
Plus Jim calls Spock over to explain the Enterprise's computers which Sarek does not need to know about. Almost as if Jim had to come up with a reason on the spot to explain away why he just called Spock over like Sarek did with Amanda.
Double plus, Sarek and Amanda are Vulcan kissing the entire agonising trip Spock takes to walk over to Jim. Like, not a light brush of the fingers, those babies are firmly pressed and not budging. And they don't stop until Sarek has insulted Spock and sent him away. Its more a makeout session than a kiss.
So, anyway, Jim calls Spock over both because he's maybe a little intimidated by Sarek and wants his best friend/boyfriend to support him and also because, no matter the species, men behave similarly when it comes to certain things like mates and Jim was not about to be shown up on his own ship.

Shore Leave of the Enterprise on Vulcan
Two vulcans looking in the distance:
"Who do you think that is", the first one says, pointing at another Vulcan standing near another humanoid figure in a Starfleet uniform.
"Hard to tell from this distance", the second one responds, just as the Vulcan they were observing grabs the hand of the figure they now could tell was a human man.
"Ah, Spock son of Sarek." They both conclude at the overly open PDA.

Can you imagine what MY FATHER would say...if I were to give up command of this vessel, jeopardize hundreds of lives, risk interplanetary war, all for the life of one person? ◭ My logic is uncertain where MY SON is concerned.

I know it’s because Vulcans have an extremely accurate sense of time, so when Kirk says “How long has it been?” to Spock it isn’t at all significant that he knows down to the last minute. However, as Kirk points out, Spock knows that was a rhetorical question and so I choose to believe that Spock missed him.

for everyone freaked out about saavik and spock:
so in an unfilmed (?) deleted scene from search for spock, it's revealed that saavik got pregnant from when she saved young spock's life by helping him through pon farr. i don't think that they were ever romantically involved-- i doubt vulcan society would have pressured them to get married in order for spock to support saavik and the child, especially since spock was dying and had amnesia when he was conceived.
if anything, they spent the years before spock was sent to the kelvin timeline coparenting completely platonically and talking fondly about the memories of jim kirk.
