From some of the books I've read on Diana and Charles (from their married days) it's quite evident that the boys had their own RPOs from very early on. Ken Wharf, one of Diana's most well known RPOs, started out as a PPO from William and Harry (I think he started when either William or Harry was only 4 years old). That was the arrangement back then since the boys were sons of the Prince of Wales (heir) and William was actually a future king (heir to the heir). I think Harry took that arrangement for granted and assumed it's his birth right. From a very young age on, his normal was having an RPO with him at all times, even when they were at home.
So, I do understand Harry's cognitive dissonance that doesn't let him understand why his security was taken away once he stopped being a working royal.
But I also think it's entitlement. Remember when they first released their manifesto and then the court cases, they gave examples of their relatives who seemingly enjoy perks of BRF association ie , security and titles and hold jobs. They cited Eugenie, Bea, Andrew, even the Prince Michael Kent. That is the loophope they wanted to exploit, and that thinking is all Harry. It has to have been Harry to thought it was ok to go along with Meghan's schemes because the others were doing similar things (acc to him).
He is just mad that that the unwritten rules seems to have changed only for him. (Which lets be honest, they sort of have) And he thinks it's because of the Meghan hatred and their need to dim his star so that they (Charles, William) can shine brighter (Very Diana way thinking, tbh).
From everything that's been coming out about Andrew and Fergie, it seems that exploiting royal association isn't a new thing. Some like Michael Kent do it in an official capacity as "business consultants", which is legal. And some like Andrew, Fergie do it by acting as shady go-betweens and taking financial cuts like a brokerage.
It is a bit a curious that the rules did change for Harry in such an obvious way. Makes you wonder, how bad things with him and Meghan must be that they got such a definite push back, when slimy Andrew manages to still in part of the inner fold.
Was it a pre-emptive strike against Harry because BRF his potential to be such a train wreck) or did they shut doors in Meghan because they realised she is a gold digger? Or did the couple actually do something really egregious behimd close doors that caused this massive reaction? Or was it that the deciding vote, for Harry and Meghan, were William and Charles, who are image savvy, smart, circumspect and willing to listen to advisors? Whereas for Andrew the authority was mainly the queen and Phillip who preferred to put it on the back burner and not talk about it at all?
It's because the Sussexes publicly announced their intent to commercialize their titles for personal profit and subsidize their lives on taxpayer funding while not living in the UK and not working or doing anything to benefit the taxpayers for using their money.
All Harry and Meghan had to do was keep their mouths shut and they probably would've gotten most of what they asked for.
Keep your mouth shut, keep it out of the press, and everyone will look the other way. But the second it becomes public, then it's game over because once it's public, the public will demand accountability and force The Queen to impose consequences. Because that's what happened to everyone else. Andrew, Sarah, Prince Michael, Edward, Sophie, etc. kept their mouths shut and they got their half-in/half-out perks till the press found out and when the press found out, the public demanded counsequences and accountability:
The Yorks were forced to divorce after Sarah's actions were found out.
Andrew was forced to leave his trade envoy position over controversies about his expenses and the relationships he made with certain questionable people in the Middle East, but he still kept his royal position. Then seven years later, Andrew was forced to leave public service and lost all honors after his continued connections to/with Epstein were revealed.
The Queen was forced to pay real rent for Prince and Princess Michael when an inquiry revealed they were living grace-and-favor at Kensington Palace despite not being full-time working royals.
Prince Michael was forced to leave public service after his Russian connections and pay-for-access schemes were publicly revealed. (The Queen saved face by letting him retire.)
Sophie was forced to leave her PR firm after the sheik scandal when her negative comments about the BRF were published. Around the same time, Edward was forced to leave his production company after it was discovered his company stayed in St. Andrews past a hard-stop deadline when William began at the university. Then after some quiet time out/off, Sophie and Edward both rebranded as full-time working royals in support of The Queen's golden jubilee in 2002.
All this to say that if the Sussexes had kept their mouths shut this whole time and let the BRF handle their resignation, the world went through COVID (and they didn't give any interviews or make any comments or write any editorials at all), and Prince Philip died, they probably would've been back in some unofficial capacity by the end of 2021 to help with the Platinum Jubilee in some form.
Also, exploiting royal association has been a thing for as long as the monarchy has existed. It's not new to the contemporary BRF.

If not, then why does Charles want Andrew out of Royal Lodge but not Edward out of Bagshot Park?
Some background info…
Royal Lodge has more of a family history than Bagshot Park does. The Royal Lodge was where Her Late Majesty grew up and was The Queen Mother’s Windsor residence, before she passed away (at which point Andrew leased the home). Charles probably has fond memories of the home and wants to “keep it in the family”, so to speak — his own family (aka Harry or William and their families). Bagshot Park, meanwhile, was a residence used by the Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (Victoria’s son) and then leased to the Army until 1996 when Edward and Sophie took over tenancy; it doesn’t have the same prestige, if you will, of the Royal Lodge to the family.
It’s been said that the reports of how big Bagshot Park is and its 120 rooms is greatly overestimated from the Army days. To me that suggests that most of the 120 rooms are very small and perhaps not quite practical for a family. At any rate, Edward and Sophie did significant renovations to Bagshot Park that made the rooms bigger, which also reduced the number of rooms on the property.
Also, Royal Lodge is said to be falling apart and there’s an enormous repair bill coming to fix everything. Charles could be focusing on Royal Lodge because of the enormous repair costs, which Andrew was supposed to be on top of as part of his lease and seems to not be addressing.
And finally, let’s not forget that Andrew is no longer a working member of the royal family, nor even a senior royal. Edward and Sophie are. It doesn’t make sense for Andrew to keep such a large property under peppercorn rent, and he likely can’t afford the market rate of rent (and upkeep expenses to maintain the lease) for a place like Royal Lodge. Forcing Andrew to downsize from the Royal Lodge is also a practical and economical reason in terms of lessening the burden on the Duchy of Lancaster.
Hi Nonny,
Thank you for all this extra information. 🩷 It does make things clearer and sets the 'evict Prince Andrew' narrative in context.

The Duke of Edinburgh
CHAPTER ONE: The Thirst is Real
Featuring Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh
I had been invited to join the Royal Family at the Order of the Thistle Service at St Giles' Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland. Apparently, the service celebrated Scotland's highest honor of chivalry and appointed Queen Camilla, and Prince Edward, The Duke of Edinburgh, members of the Order of the Thistle. I dressed in formal suit and drove over to the Cathedral, and I was escorted through security to my seat.
Shortly thereafter, the Royal Family arrived, minus William's wife, Kate while her chemotherapy treatment for cancer continues, or Princess Anne who is recovering at home after an incident involving a horse. The ceremony featured plenty of pomp and ceremony, with The King and Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duke of Edinburgh wearing the iconic green velvet robe and black hats topped with white ostrich feathers while Sophie opted for a soft pink dress and matching hat.
Charles looks every well considering what he's been through, Prince Edward looking more desirable by the day, and their wives looking homely as usual. William looked handsome, with his mother's good looks, and a hint of Charles in him. Maybe in another 10 to 15 years, I'll make a run at him. I greeted each one with a handshake and bow before finding our seats.
Throughout the ceremony, I would scan the crowd admiring the many men at attendance. Occasionally, Edward and would lock eyes, give a small smile before quickly looking away. This happened any number of times. I could not help but stare at him, then look at Charles. With him going though his recovery treatment and I passing Andrew along, I wonder if I should shift my focus the youngest son of the Queen and Prince Phillip.
After the service, the four members of the royal family separately toured the garden party, meeting a large number of guests and despite grey clouds that threatened rain only a few spots fell. Before I left, Edward slipped a note into my palm. After I got in my car, I opened the note and read it. It said, "Meet me at the back gates of Edinburgh Castle at midnight tonight, Edward."
I knew where he was referring to and as midnight approached, I made my way to back gates of Edinburgh Castle, walking in the moonlight. I came to the ruins and as I approached Edward came out from behind a wall wearing a jacket, a light blue button up shirt with sand-colored boots. He turned toward me, smiled nervously, and motioned for me to follow him.
The journey across the grounds of the estate was unbearable. Cameras to dodge, security for the prince to nod away. But we found a small cottage and as soon were inside Edward pulled me towards him and kissing me passionately.
“Well, there’s a nice way of welcoming someone, Your Highness.” I grinned as I pulled back from Edward.
“Call me Edward, please.” He replied breathlessly, “I jacked off thinking about you often after that time in the woods. And no sign of you for months and here you are!”
“Sorry about that." I replied, “It has been a busy year dealing with your brother's affairs."
Dealing with both his brother's affairs, I thought, chuckling to myself as our eyes met, and he kissed me gently on the lips. I could feel the bulge growing in my shorts and could see Edward had noticed as well. With a twinkle in his eye, Edward kneeled and slid my pants and shorts off, throwing them onto a nearby chair.
"What a lovely cock." Edward crowed before he took all of my cock into his mouth. Then he tightened his lips and pressed with his tongue and slowly sucked his head up my shaft. Oh God! He repeated this again and again and my cock got harder and harder. Then his tongue was licking my head and under the ridge surrounding it. Damn, no problems about deep throating with this laddie. He just took me right in without hesitation.
“Oh, fuck yes.” I moaned in delight as I started to thrust, and face fuck the prince.
The feeling was electric and euphoric as he reached around and gently fingered my ass while sucking harder and fast on my cock. As much as I wanted to make it last, my body began to show him an orgasm was coming. He immediately changed course, got up from his knees and kissed me passionately.
Frantically, we both took off our remaining clothes. I partially unbuttoned his shirt and reached in. He wasn’t a bodybuilder by any means, but while his upper torso was wiry it was also surprisingly muscular, especially for a man his age. His chest had a little hair, compared to Charles and his nipples were cute and hard. I began licking one nipple, stroking his cock with one hand and feeling his ass with my other. His eyes told me he was enjoying me, but I wanted more. We both got properly on the bed, laying there with our arms around each other, stroking each other’s neck and shoulders.
I found his nipples again, and after lightly twisting the plump buds. I bent down to suck on them hard as they got plumper, going from side to side while his Edward ran his hand through my scalp. Back and forth I went, sucking on Edward’s nipples while the sounds of my suckling filled the air. His chest heaved as his breathing grew more rapid, working down his lean body until I reached his royal 8" cock which stood upright, surrounding by a cloud of brown fur.
My hand deftly peeled the crinkled foreskin down to expose the head, which my tongue toyed with until my mouth engulfed the cone. My lips slid down his shaft until they were buried in the pubes, and then I bobbed up and down the stiff dick, pausing occasionally to go down to the loose hanging balls as the prince’s legs churned in place. The end came far too soon for Edward as my skills coaxed his orgasm despite his best efforts to delay it.
That orgasm was exquisite however, as once it started it seemed to go on forever. Waves of pleasure kept rushing up and down his aged body as I kept sucking Edward’s dick long after he was drained.
“That was…” Edward said as he searched to find the words, and after failing simply pulled me close to him.
“I thought you weren't new to all of this.”
“I'm not," He replied, "but I have only been with three men before my marriage to Sophie and each has awakened me to more and more pleasure. I like the feel of a cock in my mouth, I enjoy feeling it spasm as I suck it dry. And only one of them had fucked me and I quite enjoyed it.”
I told him that I would be honored to be his second. He nodded his head yes like an excited puppy and turned onto his hands and knees. He spat into his hand and reached around to prepare his royal love hole. I slowly fingered his tight asshole, gently reaming him so he could accommodate my cock. I gently touched my head to his ass ring. I gently circled with it and then slowly thrust forward, he squeaked as I expanded his sphincter with my cockhead. Then he seemed to relax as I slowly pressed on until I was buried up to the hilt in his hot, tight ass. Just then, I started to thrust back and forth, inseminating my third prince.
There I was, fucking the 14th in line to the British throne, and loving every minute of it. We humped like a couple of dogs in heat. I reached down and grabbed the princely cock in my hand and jerked him as he rocked back and forth on my cock. I was stroking his cock and controlling the rhythm during this mind-blowing dance. I was approaching what would surely be an explosive orgasm, and Edward was reading it and responding to it expertly. His breathing quickened exactly in time with my own.
I could hold back no longer, and I soon blew my load into the prince, heaving with every ejaculation. We finished and collapsed to the bed, giggling like a couple of little girls.

Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have two "perfect" role models in the shape of two unlikely royals - who are themselves "spares to the spare."
The young royals, who could be considered the "spares" to future King, Prince George, the first born child of Prince Wiliam and Catherine, Princess of Wales, should look to Prince Edward, the new Duke of Edinburgh, and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, for how to go about their life as working royals.
Edward and Sophie have been hailed as the perfect role models for Charlotte and Louis due to their successful roles within the Royal Family.
The couple recently carried out a historic ceremony on behalf of King Charles III, marking 120 years of friendly relations between Britain and France.
Their rise to prominence has been a long time coming, according to former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond.
Jennie told OK!: "They thoroughly deserve the recognition they are now getting."
She added that despite their work often being overshadowed by other royals, they have remained devoted to their causes.
As they take on more prominent roles, they are proving themselves up to the task and serving as excellent examples to their great nephews and niece.
xxx
It is a position which has notoriously come with question marks attached as the Royal struggles to carve out a life for themselves in the shadow of the crown.
Jennie added:
"They [Edward and Sophie] have always been quietly devoted to their various causes, but their work has been overshadowed by other royals.
I suppose every cloud has a silver lining... and as the King calls on them to take a more prominent role, Edward and Sophie are showing they are very much up to the task.
"They are also serving as excellent role models to their great nephews and niece - showing that you can be a 'spare' or even a 'spare to the spare' and make a real success of working as a valued member of the Royal Family."
But among the many benefits of the Prince and Princess of Wales ' preference for gentle parenting directed by what Catherine has learned from her studies of early years education, it is clear that the couple will be striving to normalise their younger children's lives with the hope that they never feel like working as royals is their only option.
"William and Catherine must be acutely aware of the problems for a royal spare," Jennie explains.
"They have already shown that they have a different and modern attitude to bringing up royal children.
I'm sure they will do everything to make Charlotte and Louis feel every bit as special, loved and valued as George.
I imagine they will encourage Louis to explore life outside the royal fold... it could be the military, but it could also be working in the charity world or whatever he finds appealing after his education is finished.
I'm sure they will encourage him to go to University, which they both enjoyed and where, of course, they found love.
"And from there they will want him to find a life that is meaningful to him as well as appropriate for the son of a future King.
They will try to ensure that he feels he is living a life of value, irrespective of his place in the line of succession.
And that will probably involve service of some kind as they have emphasised from the start that they want their children to understand that having empathy with others is not only a kindness but is rewarding as well."
Edward and Sophie have seen their popularity and recognition within the Royal Family soar over the past 13 months, since being given new titles.
The pair are increasingly front and centre at crucial events, stepping in for the King while he prioritises his health recovery.
Prince Edward is a trusted supporter of the arts sector, taking up his late father's Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme mantle.
Meanwhile, Sophie champions gender equality tirelessly, raising critical awareness around issues like female genital mutilation (FGM) and avoidable blindness prevention.
Away from participating in Royal duties or representational roles on behalf of the King, Edward and Sophie, along with their two children — Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, 20 and 16 respectively — reside at Bagshot Park close to the Windsor Estate, whenever they're not away studying at university or school.

FYI: Funding of the duo while royals
The financial year for the Sovereign Grant is 1 April to 31 March. The Sovereign Grant is funded from the income, after operating expenditure*, from Crown Estates (all of the income is given to the government, and the government then allocates a percentage, about 25%, to the sovereign to spend on funding the official work of the monarchy). The duo announced their engagement in November and got married in May. So, for 4 months, the monarchy was saddled with funding TBW from a budget that had not allocated any funds for her. However, her demands, via hapless, for bodyguards and transport (she was already living free from paying rent on a Crown Estate long before the engagement) preceded the engagement, and once she got the ring on her finger, she expected to have free rein to spend and spend (even once they could accommodate her with funds from the Sovereign Grant, the SG did not expand so every penny she spent took money 'away' from other working royals). This is where the ridiculous story about 'no money for her' comes from.
Charles did have income from the Duchy of Cornwall. I am not sure what the dates for the financial year are, but it would probably be a similar story other than that this income was considerable and Charles could allocate the funds as he wished among himself, his wife, and his sons. I suspect that it is these funds that the duo thought they should have unbridled access to, and when Charles tried to put the brakes on, offence was taken. They must now be filled with bitter resentment that all that income goes to William. Charles knew this would happen one day and the duo would become an Edward and Sophie (but with a much less grand home). The duo probably thought short term and wanted to loot as much as they could while they could.
They ran off to Canada in about November, did some brief appearances in January and then effectively were gone. But the SG funded them until 31 March. They effectively were given a generous 4-month paid holiday. As for Charles funding them from the Duchy of Cornwall, they were not entitled to any funding after Megxit was officially announced, but they got full funding from Charles up until then, when they were on 'paid leave' living for free in Canada with bodyguards paid for by the British public ... It also seems that Charles dipped into his personal wealth and gave them a large sum at the time of Megxit as well, sort of as a farewell gift:
"them "a substantial sum" to support their transition to financial independence.
Duchy of Cornwall accounts show that the couple - along with Prince William and Catherine - received £4.5m between April and June 2020.
"That funding [then] ceased," according to a spokesman.

Why do you think the BRF also sends their number 3 or 4 for foreign royal occasions? I would get it if W&K were of a different generation but they never seem to travel compared to the other royal household number 1’s.
Because the BRF’s protocols under Queen Elizabeth, they used order of precedence rather than order of succession to determine who attended ceremonial events for foreign royalty. That meant children of the monarch ranked higher than grandchildren of the monarch, in which case it was far more appropriate and respectful for the UK to send Edward and Sophie to represent The Queen (her son) rather than William and Kate (her grandson).
For a super long time, Charles was the one who attended foreign royal occasions on The Queen’s behalf. He attended the events for either the sitting monarch or the direct heir/crown prince or princess. Edward and Sophie mostly attended the events for foreign royal families when they concerned everyone else - eg a non-direct heir. According to the BRF’s protocols, it wouldn’t have been appropriate for a higher-ranking foreign royal to attend a ceremony for a lower-ranking royal.
King Charles has mainly kept the QE2 protocols in tact so far but he’s also really handicapped by Harry and Meghan having quit the monarchy because they were too impatient to wait. Under the QE2 protocols of precedence that we know, William was meant to attend the ceremonies for sitting monarchs and direct heirs while Harry was meant to attend the ceremonies for the others.
But obviously Harry quit and Charles can’t send William to attend ceremonies for the spares. All Charles has is Anne and Edward, until George and Charlotte become working royals. So Anne or Edward it is.
Thank you so much. I suspected it was something like this, but I don’t know that much about protocol.

Charles, Prince of the Isle (1828-1875)
read about him below!!
The long-awaited prince was born in 1828 to Queen Mary III and her husband, Prince Charles, the Earl of Statford. Queen Mary showered her son and heir in love and attention while ignoring her older daughters. Prince Charles recieved an extensive education which was overseen by his father. The young prince was intelligent, bright, and cheerful despite being sickly most of his life. After his father's death in 1847, the prince spent more time with his family, with his mother heavily relying on him during her mourning period. Charles attended the Imperial University of Windenburg from 1848-1850.
In 1852, Charles became engaged to Princess Sophie Alexandrine of Mannheim, his distant relative. Charles fell in love with her the previous summer while she was visiting relatives in San Myshuno. His mother, Queen Mary wanted her son to marry a bride from a country which had more prospects. Sophie Alexandrine was a minor princess whose second-cousin was the Grand Duke of Mannheim, who ruled a small insignificant country. The princess also lacked a dowry and was a few years past the marriagable age of the era (She was almost 25) . Despite this, Mary allowed her son to propose after months of convincing. Sophie Alexandrine arrived in Windenburg two months before the wedding was scheduled and resided with her relatives who had grace and favour apartments at Kingston Palace. The Prince would visit his future bride almost every single day with the company of a chaperone. The couple enjoyed long walks and playing music together, with the prince playing piano, and the princess playing the harp. A month before the wedding, Sophie Alexandrine suffered from a fever which would result in her death. Charles was devastated from the death of his betrothed and would never be the same again. The prince demanded that Sophie Alexandrine have a funeral as if she was a Princess of the Isle, which Queen Mary agreed with. The Princess was buried at the Royal Burial Ground in San Myshuno, despite not yet being a member of the royal family. The court remained in mounring for eight weeks.
Queen Mary described her poor son as "a shell of his former self". The Prince refused to eat anything for days at a time and would never leave his apartments for months. The prince began to lose a considerable amount of weight causing Queen Mary to worry for her son. As the years went by, Charles gradually recovered from the death of his fiance. Most Windenburgians assumed that Charles would never marry and would later be succeeded by his younger brother, Edward who had gotten married in 1857. In 1863, Prince Edward became gravely ill with the Bricehster Flu, remaining bedridden for weeks. Prince Edward eventually recovered, but the Queen used this situation to urge Charles to marry. After two months, the Prince eventually relented and allowed his mother and sisters to find a potential bride. After rejecting many suitors, Princess Odette suggested her husband's cousin, Infanta Maria Christina of Selvadorada. The bride was beautiful and well educated, and like her husband enjoyed music. After meeting twice in Champes Les Sims, the couple became engaged that year.
In 1863, at the age of 35, the Prince was married to Infanta Maria Christina of Selvadorada. The Prince's mood initially became better after his marriage to the infanta, however Maria Christina gave birth to a stillbirth daughter on the anniversary of Sophie Alexandrine's death, leaving the Prince in a state of severe depression. In 1866, Maria Christina gave birth to a daughter, Princess Alexandra who would later on become Queen Alexandra II. Charles was delighted by the birth of his daughter and would spend an extraordinary amount of time with her. In 1869, Maria Christina suffered from a difficult pregnancy which would result in her death. Maria Christina gave birth to twins, Prince Henry, and Princess Charlotte. Maria Christina died in labor, and her son would die the next day. Charles was heartbroken after the death of his wife and son, and secluded himself away from court. Charles would never return, and spent most of his time at Dunkeld Palace in Victoria. The Prince rarely saw his children as they reminded him of his deceased wife.
In 1870, the Prince was remarried to Princess Adelaide of Brichester, a cousin of his first wife. Although Charles never wanted to marry again, his overbearing mother encouraged the match and stressed the importance of having a mother figure in her granddaughters lives. The prince ignored his new wife and continued to live seperately from her in Victoria. In the absence of their father, Princess Adelaide raised Alexandra and Charlotte herself, overseeing their education and wellbeing. In 1875, Charles succumbed to a fever and died alone at his lodge in Victoria. His daughter, Alexandra became heir to the throne and would succeed her grandmother, Queen Mary II, as the new Queen of Windenburg in 1885.

I am never going to be one who excuses what was done both before and after H and M left their royal roles. I do wonder if the Sussex’s saw Prince Andrew , another second son of a monarch as an example of someone having both a royal and a side gig (sorry can’t think of another expression). The Pitch at the Palace was a commercial venture which totally used Andrew’s position and was actually carried out at BP, and from what I read anyone with particularly tech ideas had to sign away 25% to even ‘pitch’. I think the Markles overplayed their hand and expected the family and country as a whole to beg them to come back and save the monarchy and when that didn’t happen, he is searching for people to blame, be it family, press, the racist British public or the men in grey suits.
I mean, if we're being honest, almost everyone in the BRF commercializes their status and uses their titles for personal gain.
Charles has been caught in several cash-for-honors schemes.
William makes documentaries. (They're nice documentaries, but let's be real - if William was an ordinary bloke, he wouldn't have these opportunities because his ratings aren't competitive.)
Andrew had Pitch@Palace, after being a special ambassador for business, which is a quasi-government position (although unpaid).
Sarah sells romance books and was caught in a cash-for-access scheme.
Beatrice and Eugenie both have titles and private-sector jobs earning personal income, but they still have occasional royal duties and have represented The Queen.
Peter doesn't have a title so he did have to get a private-sector job, but he was involved in organizing the Patron's Lunch (I don't believe the story that it was his company - his company likely wouldn't have been chosen if he hadn't been employed there, IMO) and Peter has also made a couple of commercials in China. (And let's be real again - if Peter didn't have his family connections, he wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to do those commercials.)
Edward and Sophie had their own companies (him a production company and her the PR company) that they were fairly successful in while also working on behalf of The Queen, until they made a couple of very public missteps (Edward's company stayed in St. Andrews filming B-roll after a cutoff date and everyone accused him of favoritism while Sophie was caught in a scheme by an undercover reporter posing as a sheik who got her talking about the BRF.)
Prince and Princess Michael of Kent were hugely subsidized by The Queen despite being only part-time status, and Prince Michael is/was often used as an unofficial ambassador to Russia by the government.
So it was (and is) totally possible for Harry and Meghan to have a kind of half-out, half-in status. All they'd have to do was be quiet about it and they probably would've been able to get some of their things on their wishlist because Andrew had them too. Their fatal misstep was making it as public as they did. Had they just gone quietly out to pasture with "we have realized how much we value time with our son and doing what we can to make the future a better place for him and all of our children. We will be stepping back from our duties to focus on our family and look forward to continuing to support The Queen, The Prince of Wales, and The Duke of Cambridge," they would've been able to keep their titles, security, military honors, and patronages even when moving to the US. But they were too greedy and flew way too close to the sun. Hence their scorched plane crash of a rejection.
(And with hindsight being 20/20, they could've taken 2020/the pandemic off for family reasons, then make a splash from mid-2021 with Archewell in a "we learned so much from the COVID pandemic and we just can't sit idly by anymore" launch and all their content deals and no one probably would've given a single fig about it.)

They should have ordered a LP to state Harry's children couldn't become Prince/Cess or that only royals living in the UK can have titles or be in the LOS or something but they didn't knowing full well HM was dying (even if she didn't have cancer the woman was 96 years old) and Charles would become King and they'd automatically become Prince and Princess thus creating a nightmare for decades to come cos honestly who knows how this will go? Will we just have this huge line of Princes of Sussex? When do their children stop getting HRH? Archie and Lilibets children will he American citizens do they get royal titles? Where and when does it end.
Charles should have done what The Queen did with Edward and Sophie's children, given them lesser titles and said they could choose to use the Prince/Princess when they turn 18. Lili has no title of her own to pass down to her children. Archie will inherit Harry's, and Archie's son will pass it to his son and so on.

About Harry's losing prince title reading
Hello CC! Thanks for the reading!
From what you read, is the losing of the Prince title being a consequence of an action he does (like attacking again the royal family) done in the public arena that forces Charles to act or is sth that has been planned but they are just waiting for the right moment? If the latter I can understand why as there was a major shift in the monarchy and the consolidation of Charles as monarch is more of a priority than dealing with Harry.
My next question would be: will the stripping of the princely titles affect the Sussex children as well? It would be weird letting them have the titles while their dad, who they got the title from, is stripped + they don’t live in the UK and don’t know nothing about the British culture
I’ve been thinking about what else can be taken from Harry and there are different options to reduce his status to Duke, but I don’t know if actually possible as I’m not well versed into heraldic rules etc. The King could also remove the Victorian order from H (it’s the medal he usually wears around the neck and the star badge) + forbidding him to use symbols that depicts his status as son of the monarch like the crown on his monogram (he would then be forced to use the duke crown like the aristocratic ones) and change his coat of arms to mirror his duke status. For this latter option I don’t know if it’s possible or not as his current coat of arms derives from his dad’s and mirrors his status as son of the king (not officially updated yet)
Another thing Charles could do is officially removing Meghan’s coat of arms. After what she did she really doesn’t deserve to keep that present from the late Queen + the use of the royal monogram
What’s your thoughts?
Thank you in advance 😘

Hi Nonny,
I think it is a bit of both. I think the BRF have planned for removing Harry’s titles, but it is a last resort action, and the question then becomes does Harry’s actions call for that last resort to be implemented? So far the answer has been No, but you never know what he will do in the future that may change that No to a Yes. I didn’t get a ‘done deal’ feeling from the energy of the reading, so I think this is something that they are still discussing, not something that they are ready to announce.
Stripping Harry of his Prince title will mean that he is Harry, The Duke of Sussex, not HRH The Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex. Meghan takes her titles from him so she would keep The Duchess of Sussex title and lose the Princess Henry title. The children received their titles from being the male line grandchildren of the King so AFAIK they would keep their titles in this situation, unless their parents refused the titles on behalf of the children (like Lady Louise, who is technically HRH Princess Louise, but Edward and Sophie decided that she would be styled as the daughter of an Earl (now the daughter of a Duke) rather than as a Princess).
Anyone who knows any differently, feel free to let me know. :)
I don’t think Orders of Chivalry can be removed for anything less than confirmed treason, so Harry has his Victorian Order for life. I could be wrong about this.
If Harry is entitled to a certain crown above his monogram etc then the only thing the BRF can do is say that he is not allowed to use it, and we have seen how well he follows that order with his HRH.
A coat of arms, once given, can not be taken away except for cases of treason AFAIK, and in that case the coat of arms is usually marked with a sign of dishonour (again, AFAIK).
Taking away the monograms etc would look like petty behaviour on behalf of the BRF and feed into Meghan’s victim narrative.
What I am hoping is that both Harry and his children are legally removed from the Line of Succession, and I am hoping that this is the hinted-at bombshell that is coming in the Northern Hemisphere Spring. Once that happens, they can be stripped of the HRH Prince/Princess titles as they are no longer in the Line of Succession, and revert to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their children, the Earl of Dumbarton and Lady Lili - or Archie and Lili Mountbatten Windsor if the parents do not want to use the courtesy titles for their children.
