where the hell is the snow it’s been two years of this
#do you know how crazy i feel when utah state with the slogan ‘best snow on earth’ gets zero snow for december.#we got it abt 3 times maybe. it only stuck once. and it was barely even 1-2 inches#this is now the second year in a row of no snow for the holidays.#in the state of ‘big ass snowstorms flooding the mountains in 2022’ utah.#like idk. everyone is so normal about it too#and i know it’s probably like. fucking el niño or whatever they said last year but also.#it just. doesn’t snow like it used to anymore?????#utah is a desert yeah but northern utah is a SNOWY ASS CLIMATE. so to have not gotten snow these last two years.#idk it feels. so weird#and everyone is just. poignantly ignoring it#and i’m tbh soo fucking nervous about inauguration day and what’s coming after#my fears 4 the climate are so big.#sucks cause climate change is a purely human issue. like . i know the earth would recover give time if humans just disappeared#(not at ALL saying they should my god)#but like#we are creating this issue for only ourselves we are eating ourselves alive for the sake of 0.001% of people#for billionaires who know not care not or think not of our existence and only see us as stocks and cannon fodder#there’s no snow anymore in the ‘greatest snow on earth’ state and they’ve got us blindfolded bitching abt paper straws. idk

well, i guess i'm as winter storm ready as i can be !
i clocked out of work for a bit to go run the errands i normally do on fridays because tomorrow we're supposed to get a few actual inches of snow (we'll see !!) so that was..... exhausting to do in the middle of a work day (and right before a snowstorm in the south... the traffic....) but it's all done !!
i've gotta work a couple of hours tomorrow because i ended up taking longer than i meant to (mostly because of the traffic) but hopefully i can get up and get that done before there's any possibility of even losing power so fingers crossed !

#i had to go to not one but TWO pharmacies as part of my errand run#walgreens to get some more toradol for what i'm pretty sure is another goddamn kidney stone#(that keeps having this on and off pain that's been going on since at least thanksgiving if not earlier so....#we've probably got another stuck one and i can't even begin to fucking think about it#i do have an appointment with my pcp on monday tho so hopefully we can figure out what's going on)#and costco to get my regular meds#i also made the mistake of getting to costco right about the time everyone was getting off work and just...oh my god#to be fair i've seen it worse but i had also just left the grocery store so like...ahhhhhhh#also part of the reason it took me so long to even get there was because i also took the trash off#and we finally got a new water heater (yaaay!!! i missed enjoying showers) but that meant i had to break down the box it came in (booo!!)#so that took goddamn forever#i even worked on it during my lunch break just so i'd hopefully speed up the process but nope !! not really !!#but it's done#and all the trash is taken off#and i've got food#we've got a grill and some propane and propane accessories#and mom got the fireplace cleaned out and we've got some wood#i'm gonna charge my portable batteries tonight and fingers crossed we don't end up needing any of it#and it's just a nice snowy day !!#anyway after that little trip to overstimulation city and feeling like i haven't stopped moving for several hours now#i'm gonna go unplug my brain !!#:3

snow is coming… my head has spent all day trying to explode- hello barometric pressure changes! (it’s also in the forecast- but, i technically function as a human barometer :D)
#ramble on exie#honestly really excited to have a snowy winter#last year sucked- no snow basically until january#and instead of a few gentle snowfalls we got two 6 foot blizzards#and i hate big dumps of snow. i prefer a couple inches here and there until we have a nice deep snow#something manageable so that my car doesn’t die or get stuck again lmao#if we could get a nice calm winter that’d be great. would make for better ice for fishing#last year was a bad fishing year and that sucked. i got on the ice like twice. all winter

"I am going to do some Gpose today" I have said to myself for a week or two since my health issues have been lessening... and then I think about how much energy and time it takes, and I just... don't.
#trapped in an ugly cycle of being disinterested in my own characters bc others are disinterested#but also over the last few years the RP focus has massively shifted to Elezen and Ishgard in the tumblr XIV community#I'll eventually find a way to meet people in other RP spheres...maybe#and I live in a place that's as cold and snowy as Ishgard most of the year... so I don't enjoy the zone at all#plus the themes in Ishgard are meh for me - I just don't care about the catholic guilt stuff#plus the church was overthrown so that's not even really a relevant zone theme anymore?#and the class warfare is more interesting in Ul'dah for me...bc it's warm and doesn't remind me that I'm *also* stuck in a frozen hellscape#anyways it's so cold that my bones hurt#going to reserve my spoons for a day I have the energy to spend like 8 hours taking pictures and video

some more of a doodle dump (and some lore, if you can read it :/) of these two middle aged men.
the 15–16-year difference is because after the murder case (Nathan killing the mayor with a cult controlling him) he was sent to an isolated cabin in the mountains to serve his sentence and do rehabilitation (a therapist came by every week/2 week and Johnny came by every week to check on Nathan). Nathan couldn't be placed in a prison because he'd just manipulate and take over the prison.
they placed him in the cabin not only for that but also because he hated the woods and hated having to get himself dirty (because he needed to chop wood and somewhat farm; every so often the gate guards would deliver him approved foods/seeds).
there was then......THE BLIZZARD INCEDENT..............(that'll be revealed later however)

This winter (the season not the me) has been unseasonably and terrifyingly warm, like it's 10 degrees (Celsius sorry Americans) out today and I'm reminded of an article I read in the news a couple years ago about how Canada was baking at twice the rate as the rest of the world and go 👁️👄👁️. In my youth snow where I live would be probably a foot high in the lowest snow areas of snow drifts and up to my waist (in adult height) in the high parts, and every year I see less and less snow ☠️☠️☠️
On one hand despite my namesake I actually loathe the season winter, I'm extremely sensitive to the cold and getting brain freeze because the wind is blowing against the direction you're walking in sucks booty hole. But like NO snow is extremely bad. VERY bad. Do not like living out the consequences of climate change because uh. Canada just does not seem to have winters like it used to and hasn't in years. It's like watching all the corn crops stop growing like they used to because the summers are so much dryer and hotter with the exception of last summer, which was almost wet enough to kill the corn with that. But they survived and grew bushy like they used to and it was kind of terrifying to acknowledge I hadn't seen a crop that good in years.
#winters ramblings#on one hand it genuinely is SO NICE to not deal with snow seriously it is SO inconvenient#beautiful to look at for sure REALLY stunning when its not literally blinding you but omG snow on roads#in the cities where i live leave HUGE slush puddles and the snow is so MUSHY and WET from cars#pulverizing it to a fine icy slush ready to SOAK your feet in freezing water. shit is inconvenience powder#but the environment is in NEED of the snow that is how this country works environmentally NORMALLY#but no now we have consistently spring weather and ever less snowy winters#although we did have a shitty winter a couple years ago but thats not exacy indicive of much when it goes against prior patterns#and also that shitty winter STILL wasnt the winters of my childhood. the snow was ABSURD then#and yes its because drifts were the size of ME but even the massive piles of snow plowed from side walks are so much smaller#IF theres snow pules at all weve BARELY got snow this year and none of it stuck!!#like damn its been gone long enough ill miss it exactly until i have to walk to a bus stop in it#when i was 13 ill never forget my parents making me return a movie in a snow storm and it took me FORTY MINUTES#to complete this task because the snow NO JOKE was up to my wasit the whole way and i was my full 5'6 then#the snow was HORRIBLE. and for reference how long it USUALLY takes me to walk uptown and back?#roughly 15 minutes round trip so it took longer to walk ONE WAY than it took me to do a round trip no snow#and thats the last time i remember having a REALLY bad winter on account of walking to school was ALSO hell if the sidewalk#wasnt already plowed and usually only the main streets got that and i was Middle Street so id be done when id be going HOME#but not when i was going TO school. that winter blew ASS butlike it was normal bring them back 😭😭
