My Snarry WIPs' list.

I would like to share something. My Snarry WIPs' list, yup. Why? I always felt weird writing about myself and stuff I do, but I'm processing changes and thought I can share not only art, lol.

How many project are you working on? I'll dive into couple of mine:

Date with a Star - a Post-War romantic comedy. Harry is in love with Severus, Severus secretly loves Harry. Both are too scared to say what they feel to not lose their friendship. A friend in need asks Harry for help and this is where the wild ride with dumb dating TV-show starts. Especially because Harry don't know that the same friend-in-need blackmailed Severus to get him into the same show too. This is actually a second Snarry fic I ever started to write, inspired by dating TV-show from 1992. I remember that when the idea for this one hit me, I was laughing for a good hour (that TV-show was absolutely ridiculous). And I still feel a pinch of positive embarrassment when think about what's going on there. In fact this story made me want to learn how to translate my wiritngs into English. It's half written and translated too. I really have to finish second part.

Infraction - my first monster fic. My baby. Crime (serial killer), slow burn, Muggle AU featuring Marauders and Death Eaters, political sheananigans and Severus' old flame. I have entire story written out from beginning to the end. What's more... with an ending that allows me to dive into second book (I'm excited lika a child) including the initial idea for it, ahh. Every time I think about Infraction, I feel butterflies in my stomach and a tear comes to my eye, damn. However, the entire project requires a huge amount of work. And a few modifications that I finally have to do to complete the first stage. It's not simple, though. I regret a bit that I released the cover, prologue and first chapter. I was prematurely carried away by the joy of creation, but that's okay. Going to fix it all in time.

In the Moonlight - working title. Something I planned to write for last year's Snarry AUctoberfest, but the beast got bigger, lol. Crime (kidnapping), Muggle AU - my great weakness and, most importantly, inspired by the movie Bodyguard (the one with Whitney Huston). Much like Infraction, this fic is fully planned and scripted. I can't believe I managed to do it. I wrote 1/4 of the whole thing and even have the lyrics of original song that Harry dedicates to Severus, although I don't know anything about music at all (an elephant stepped on my ear).

In between - a drawing series. Harry and Severus in a cute/fluff version. Post-War and happy life, because that's what they deserve!

First time - Drama/Romance, Muggle AU (gosh, yeah, again!). This is a project I want to do 50/50 as a fic/comic. A few works and dirty sketches have already landed here. I have a little dream of writing something that includes e-mails/text messages. In general, a romance that started online. Aren't Harry and Severus purfect for this? (Plus doing art in colour for this project was a test I wanted to start before 3B.)

3B - a Vampire fic, yessss. Can you believe that once I said, I'll never ever write or do anything connected to vampires? Hehe, now I'm in the middle of it, fully commited and over the moon. A bit dark/angsty story with a bonus: illustrations. Crime (more like, cri-me a river, lol; I mean, again? Yup xD), Post-War, a few intrigues, even a SnarryWedding o_0 gosh. That is another thing I said: "No, that's not going to happen." I guess, I fell on my head since now I do everything I promised to myself not to. But it's fun. And bloody, mhaha. I also created my own Vampire Villains and I kinda fell in love with them. Going to sneak into this fic a bit of blood magic mechanics that I created for my fantasy book, too. The picture at the top is one version of the cover sketches ɷ◡ɷ

Adrenaline - working title. Post-War/Drama/Romance and slow burn, a bit of Hogwarts, a bit of Quidditch and for a change Severus will have to show that he wants something more. I mean, I always writing/thinking about Harry chasing Severus. So here the dynamic will change a little. Can't wait for it! The idea for this one was accidentaly born last week and I can't stop it anymore. The inspiration comes from the cover art for Witch Weekly that I did, lol. I had no idea that at the stage of brainstorming, it would turn into another monster. It supposed to be a short story, but, apparently, I'm not good at short stories and it's time to come to terms with it xD I won't cry either because I like Harry and Severus pairing up in different ways/AU's, hehe. And most importantly - creating all these things, even if they don't fully see the world outside my drawer, still gives me great joy!

This year has had many ups and downs, and as of late it feels as if the whole world is a down. Real life has really smacked me down, and I've felt so isolated from all of the things and people I love. But as ever, the world is looking up, and I can see the light...and looking back brings me so much joy and fulfillment. I've accomplished so much that I don't give myself credit for. More than I'll dare type up here, but let's go through the highlight reel, shall we?

For my dear friend Beth's birthday, I finally posted some of my HP Astro work to AO3! (Speaking of which, I really should work on adding more soon...)

A_Loveunlaced (@a-loveunlaced) is an artist I very much admire, so the start of the year was super cool getting to chat with them, seeing their Snarry art, and writing a ficlet for said art, Again (and Again).

Delved into and fully embraced the controversy by running HP Chan Fest with @cindle-writes, which was such a cool and meaningful experience.

Plus I wrote some fics I'm really proud of for said fest: profane holy, Cruel Summer, The Virgin Bride.

Also my dear friend Viran (@mrviran) drew some fanart for Cruel Summer, I believe while it was still anonymous and everything! But she also totally called that it was me who wrote it, which is always fun for me when people know me in the Anon stages!

I wrote more fics for Kinkuary and Kinktober (which I always love!)

Shared more meta on AO3 with The Half-Blood History (I really do need to import more meta there!)

Finally wrote and posted chapter 3 for smile with sweet surprise (aka Stepdad Snape fic)

Started writing and sharing WIPs I've been long excited for: Wasted for Love (Golden Triad + Snarry) and A Taste for You (Sugar Daddy Harry).

I ran HP Fruit Fest solo! Which was a lot, but I had fun and I was super thrilled to not be the only one super into fruit!

I taught myself how to bind books, and now I have a growing collection of bound fics! Check out #danpuff binds to see some!

Speaking of recs, I'm helping mod @hprecfest, which is so fun for me! I love seeing people's recs, and I love being part of an event that is spreading so much fun and love around the community!

Also, making my own recs for the event! I've got at least one fic queued up for each day, I think! And some days have even more!

For Snarry-a-Thon I wrote a companion piece to last year's Contempt (aka my heart and soul), called Devotion, which my friend Aristi kindly beta read for me! The whole series is so deeply meaningful to me and it feels so huge to add more to it.

For Snarry Bang, I teamed up with my pal Viran (@mrviran) for The Curse of Anteros. I wiffle-waffled on what to write for the longest time, but my vacation to Orlando unlocked something in me. The whole fic hit me like a hurricane and came out in like a 2 week period. And the art Viran created for it is spectacular (I'm still obsessed). Oh, and it was such a treat having the fabulous @writcraft beta! There's nothing quite like having a creator you admire help your work be its best version!

And, of course, I had another opportunity to chat with my friend Beth for @fanficmaverickpodcast, with the episode: A Very Snarry Christmas.

And lots more, but this is plenty enough to be going with! Not half bad for the year, yeah? 😄

Hello! I have had a list of WIP’s in my notes for close to 2 years that need to be cleared out and published. This is my list of them, if you are interested, please send me an ask and let me know what you think!

Here is a list of all of the ships I have, and a synopsis of what the fic will entail. Everything I post here, I cross post on AO3, same username. I will be doing a linked post for them when they are finished so it’s easier to access. This is list will be multi fandoms, multi media. It’s a little bit of all the things I’m interested in. I know it’s a lot but please bear with me. 

HARRY POTTER

SNARCISSA: Severus is a spy, which we all know, but what if he had help that no one knew about besides Dumbledore? What if one day Narcissa got hurt and had to be taken to the Order headquarters to be healed, leaving everyone to wonder who exactly the second spy is, and why they are there.

SNAPE ANGST: Hagrid comes rushing in to the great hall carrying a body that’s been dropped off at the gates. The woman bears a resemblance to our snarky potions master, but who they believe she is, physically cannot be possible. Who is this woman? And what does this mean for Sev?

SNARRY: Severus and Harry continue to butt heads after the war, Harry having come back for his final year. The more Snape tries to only see Potter in him, the more he realizes that they are two separate people. What is he to do with this new found attraction and knowledge?

SNUPIN: An order meeting turns upside down when Severus storms in the house, covered in blood, with a look in his eyes that no one has seen before. He is in an almost catatonic state after what LV asked Severus for this time, and the Order has never seen this side of him.

PLATONIC SNILY: Set after the end of their friendship. The bullying has only gotten worse. A treasured item from Sev’s mom gets destroyed by the boys and he completely breaks down. Lilly cannot help but come to his aid when she and the entire school witness this act, and the effects it has on Snape afterwards.

PLATONIC SNILY: Lilly is homesick, tired of fighting with Petunia over being a witch. Sev is there to comfort her after getting a rude letter. The Marauders try to be the assholes we all know they are, but Lilly isn’t having it. Cute friendship fic.

SNAPE ANGST: The order is feeling distrustful of Snape, him being late to the current meeting being held doesn’t help his side. When he comes in, he is disheveled and hurt, nothing like they’ve seen before. The Order gets an inside on the punishments DE face, and they cannot look at him the same way again. (Explicit tags for this one, trigger warnings will be posted)

BADASS SEVERUS: Final battle, Snape doesn’t go to meet Voldemort. Instead he hides in the shadows and bides his time. When the battle reaches the school grounds, he comes from the darkness ready to strike. No one is prepared for what he’s about to unleash, nor do they know where his allegiance lies.

SEVERITUS: Lilly and James have passed, leaving little Harry behind. I changed his age so he is around 2-3 here. The Order has taken him from his awful relatives, but they aren’t quite sure what to do with him now. Severus is tasked with being his guardian, which he isn’t at all happy about. Mainly my two fave boys, but there’s wolfstar and some other pairings as well.

SNEGULUS: Marauders era. Regulus and Snape centered, but the others will be here too. The marauders get to see an inside to the snakes they never thought they would get to before. Lilly and Snape are friends, regulus is obsessed with quidditch, Snape loves to piss off Sirius by dating his brother.

SNILY: this is a silly, goofy fic but I love it. Instead of the frog choir preforming, Dumbledore asked for a volunteer to preform at a ceremony for the school. Of course Lilly offers her and Sev to be the entertainment, leading to a lot of revelations. jealous James, Snape is a hormonal mess and can’t say no to his crush.

SNAPE ANGST: Severus is hurt and at the Order hideout, poppy has been called to heal him. The Order members get to see what it’s like going on a DE mission and what he sacrifices every day. Poppy/minerva as Snape’s adoptive parents bc I love my little lesbians. Lots of hurt and comfort.

Bellamione: ABO, omega Hermione, alpha Bellatrix. (I needed to write at least one of these and I have no shame in doing so.) Bellatrix is a professor at the school, with the same personality just a little less crazy. Protective Alpha golden boys, asshole Slytherin bullies. Hermione is the glue for the trio and basically runs their group.

Bellamione: They are both teachers, but completely opposite. The tensions between muggleborn and pureblood is getting ridiculous so Hermione comes up with a group activity to get them to see things from other perspectives. Sharing of cultures, cute lil fic on acceptance.

I just found this show and I am obsessed. The fandom might be dead but I’m not, so buckle up.

Kerry/susan: Dr. Kerry Weaver is new to County general, and no one is enjoying her arrival. Her attitude and structured rules are driving everyone up the walls. Being such a private person, the others don’t get to see a lot into her personal life. That’s all going to change when someone from her past comes to visit and the skeletons in the closet can’t hide much longer.

Kerry/elizabeth: Mark is gone, Sandy is gone. Two broken women with their children remain behind. Can they get past their grievances and help each other, or will the past stop the future from becoming reality.

Kerry/Abby: starts off as a mentor fic, Abby seems like the only person who truly understands Kerry and her behaviors. When they are pushed together by events out of their control, will they allow the sparks to fly, or will one of them run away like they are prone to do?

platonic Kerry and Carter: John Carter is suffering and no one seems to be able to see it. No one except his boss who seems to be watching his every move. Kerry has been in his shoes and knows what he’s going through. Sometimes a little help can go a long way.

The White Road, Snarry, 48K. I knew the answer to this one without having to check. TWR is my most popular fic by every metric and the one most Snarry readers know me by, not to mention it's old enough now to be a high school sophomore (or possibly an A level student). I'm happy I somehow managed to pull off a nonlinear fic, plus I was so, so in love with the Snarry ship and all its possibilities, and I think that shines through. I let myself explore Lily's character and responded in fic to the way Snape's story ended; gave Lily and Severus one last chance to face some hard truths; and - well, no need to flog it, there are just a lot of scenes in this fic that make me clutch my heart to this day. And I let myself be a bit romantic about my OTP! With a happy ending and everything! (Okay, I'm always romantic about Snarry, but you can't always tell that from my fics.)

Second Most Kudos

Soft Touch, Snarry, ~15K. This was a sleeper hit. I never expected it to be popular, and it's not a fic people love, exactly. But the combination of mindfucky unethical massage kink plus character study brought readers to the yard - although, really, I doubt it has much to do with the "character study" part. I'm going to cheat here and borrow a bookmarker's comment to describe it: "Very sensual almost eerily so. Actually somehow slightly creepy at times yet very seductive at others. A weird read." I like how they can't seem to make up their mind! Because, yeah, IMO the appeal lies in that uncomfortable overlap between sensuality and creepiness, and the touch-starved atmosphere that hangs over it all.

Third Most Comments

The Afterlight, Snarry, WIP, currently at 46K. This is one of three melodramatic and, yes, romantic Snarry WIPs on my plate - ridiculous amounts of whump and/or emotional turmoil, plus a triple whammy of overwrought happy endings (but only after I put them through hell). Apparently after the last 10 years of Life Shite, my fannish desires are all about shameless self-indulgence now. This one has a serial killer subplot that's giving me conniptions, but I'm in love with the ending so I need the fic to get all the way there. It also ponders, in a "one dark thread running through the whole work" sense, what it means to die and come back, and I'll just say that Snape experienced death very differently than Harry did. I suspect this fic has as many comments as it does because readers were kindly encouraging me to continue after years of me not posting very much. I'm currently finishing up a Snape/McGonagall fic, but The Afterlight is next on the menu. Fourth Most Bookmarks

Warm, Snarry, ~11K. Hah! My PWP made the list! It's also a character study of Snape and Harry with an established couple dynamic, but come on, those bookmarks aren't about the settled kind of domestic bliss. They're more about the "naked by the fireside fucking each other's brains out" bliss. I wrote this fic for a prompt and to help me scrape the rust off my creative wheels after several years of writer's block. In doing so, I found that porn without plot doesn't come naturally to me. Or established relationship, either. Where's the angst? I muttered constantly to myself about the paucity of sexy anatomical slang and the problems with pacing a fairly drama-free fic. (Solution? Don't write 10K words of PWP when 3K words will do.)

Fifth Most Words

The Blood of Stars, Snarry, WIP, ~44K. This is the fic that started my journey into the melodramatic & romantic combo, but it hasn't been updated since 2014 (aka The Worst Year of My Life). However, it's alive! I've picked it up again and have been scribbling and revising scenes in between working on three other fics. This was also the start of my So What If It's Messy and Imperfect phase, which is a challenge as a perfectionist but a necessity in my current circumstances if I presume to have delusions of ever finishing anything ever again. It's a challenge in another sense, too, since I committed myself to writing Harry's section in first-person POV, just to see if I can. (The jury's still out on that.) It's also got book-ended sections written in third-person Snape (an obscure and hard-to-master dialect)(kidding), and I'm not terribly confident writing from his POV, either. But the fic's got one of those can't-stay-away-from-each-other plots (I love these), and Harry being unfaithful to Ginny (yes, I know, don't send the OOC police after me). It's full of emotional flailing and obsession and beloved characters behaving badly and Snape coming to a tragic end - but wait! There's also Love after Death and Snape having meltdowns and in the end sort of getting everything he ever wanted. In case it isn't obvious, I am wallowing like a pig in mud. I love this fic. 🥰

Fic with the Least Words

Truce, Doctor Who, Twelve/Clara, a classic drabble of 100 words. This won't make sense to anyone who hasn't seen their series arc and the last encounter between them. I'm a bit late doing this. I wanted to do it, but I just couldn't seem to find the energy to babble, even about my own works. It's been sitting half-completed in my drafts for a while. Has anyone else had such a rough beginning of year?

I don't really know who to tag, so please feel free to pretend I tagged you if you feel like playing along.

1. with great outbursts and lightnings

There was no other way to start this list than with my very first snarry, and the piece of writing which I consider the culmination of years and years of struggle to find my personal style and my voice as an author. This story is such a big part of me, and each read, each comment, each kudos means more to me than perhaps all the hits and comments and kudos from all my other works combined. I guess this is my Horcrux, of sorts. I've poured my soul into it in a way I haven't done with any of my other works. I had to dig so deeply into myself and though it's left me raw in many places, it was a good sort of raw. If that makes any sense. It contains a part of me that I don't usually show people, I think. My most cathartic work, to be sure. Anyhow... I made an individual self-rec post about it a while ago, which explains it a bit better, maybe. You can find it here if you want to know more.

To summarise it briefly, Outbursts is a Muggle AU in which Severus is a poet suffering with depression and still mourning the loss of his lover. In an attempt to escape the pain and try to start over, he moves back to London after living in Paris for almost two decades. There, unexpectedly, he meets Harry and their connection is so instant and so strong that Severus believes he's found in him the solution to all his problems. But as it turns out, despite appearances, Harry has been much more damaged by life than he seems, and he carries scars that Severus couldn't begin to imagine. The story deals with a lot of loneliness but also with a lot of hope. It's about two broken people finding each other at key moments in their lives. It's about love, not only romantic but also love for life and the little things we should appreciate each day. It's also about inspiration, and so I've filled it with poetry and music, with pining and longing. It is the first of a series, which I will come back to one day. But for now it can be read and appreciated perfectly as a standalone.

2. Brighter Than Bright

My lovely, slow to update, too often neglected WIP. My monstrosity of a story. Its completely unexpected success is at once incredibly flattering and a bit terrifying, to be honest. I started writing this fic during lockdown, at a time when life was full of uncertainties, and it quickly became my safe place, a sort of peaceful story to immerse myself in. Still now, during the hard times I like to go back to it and find comfort there. And to know that so many other people find comfort in it too is just the best feeling there is. I was excited about it when I started, but far from expecting how many people would be on board with the idea. It was pure self-indulgence, which I expected only a select amount of people to appreciate. But it's grown so much! Look at it go!

The idea to write an adaptation of Pride and Prejudice also offered me the perfect opportunity to finally try my hand at a/b/o. The question of how to explain an accepted m/m relationship during Regency gnawed at me, and omegaverse proved to be the answer. As a big fan of a/b/o and an avid reader of it, I've often found what I've read lacking in certain aspects. Don't get me wrong, there are excellent fics out there, and I will read and enjoy them completely. But a lot of what I've stumbled on left me wanting more, in terms of societal aspects and culture. The smut is hot and I seek it out as much as the next person, but there were always questions of "Why?" and "How?" and "What does the bigger picture look like?" that nagged at me. And so when I began planning BTB, I knew I wanted to explore not just the smut aspect or the dynamics aspect, but answer the question of how it looks and how it's seen in society in a realistic view, not just a black and white view, but a very grey one in which everyone has different views depending on their background. And the addition of the Regency era, in which rules are so firmly set, proved to be a very interesting ground to work on.

Through the character of Harry (and also through Severus), I wanted to show what it's like to be stuck in a role projected on you by the whole of society, to be inundated with false information and not know where to turn to understand the truth of your own nature. I wanted to show that it's okay to want to try to break free from the mold, but it's also perfectly okay to want to stay in that mold.

3. Certain Dark Things

I'm a huge fan of Call Me By Your Name. It's one of my absolute favourite books, and of course the movie is sublime. And so, the idea of doing a snarry adaptation of it had been lingering for a while. It was in the plans, though I didn't know exactly how I would go about it. And then we started putting together the prompts for the first edition of Adopt-a-Prompt fest and I stumbled on one in which Harry was raised by the Malfoys and fell in love with Severus, his father's best friend. And the big AU fan that I am immediately latched onto this prompt. And somehow I had the idea to throw in it some elements of CMBYN (the Italian setting, the villa, the lazy afternoons in the sun, the precocious young man lusting after the older visitor) and kill two birds with one stone. The resulting story is Certain Dark Things.

I wanted to challenge myself with this fic. I've written Harry in a completely different way than I usually do, making him into a strangely enticing character fit for this AU in which the reasons for his adoption remain mysterious and half unexplained. And I also made the decision to write the fic in first person pov. I know that this decision has sadly lost me a lot of readers, because a surprising amount of people aren't willing to give first person pov a chance, but I'm glad I stuck to it, because it fits the story wonderfully, and it works flawlessly. I also tried to keep the backstory to a minimum, because I tend to lose myself in this part of worldbuilding and plotting, and this fic was a true exercise in only giving away what is necessary. I hope I managed that in the end.

4. On the Deficiencies of Translation Spells

I have such fond memories of writing this fic. My very first fest fic, written for CrossGen 2020. I put BTB on hold to work on this, smack in the middle of lockdown, and spent a good two months working on it almost every day and binge drinking iced coffee. I had an absolute blast.

In this fic, Harry falls for Severus during his recovery from the snake bite, but his love declaration goes horribly wrong and results in rejection and then in Severus leaving without a trace. A few years pass, during which Harry leaves his wife and his job and moves to Paris in an attempt to find meaning in his life. When he takes a teaching position at Beauxbâtons and finds out that Severus is already teaching there, his whole world is shaken.

What I love the most about this story is Harry, and how carefree and easygoing he is, all the while carrying around such a heavy heart and not quite being able to find his place in the world. I also loved doing the worldbuilding for Beauxbâtons, though I had to hold back and leave a lot of stuff out for lack of time. The downside of fests! I have a sequel planned, which I hope to get to one day.

5. Miraculous

I popped out this little fic (little in comparison to the others, I mean) for Snarry-a-thon 2022. Once I saw the prompt, asking for escort!Harry and rich!Severus, the Muggle AU lover that I am just had to snatch it up! But it's a stressful thing, doing thon. Such a legendary fest, in a way, with such an astounding quality of authors. I had more than a few nervous breakdowns while working on this, but I think it worked out fine in the end. Once more, sadly, for lack of time I had to shorten it. Originally it was going to be much longer, but I put a lot of pressure on myself and always end up being too slow and having to change my plans. Either way, I can say I'm satisfied enough with the result. It was a very self-indulgent piece which I had a lot of fun working on (despite the nervous breakdowns), with such a gentlemanly Severus, and such a charming and caring Harry. I can't get enough of them.

Difficult....every so often I open up my AO3 bookmarks list and then get lost in reminiscening this or that story, its plot, some poignant lines, the thoughts I had associated with it and I end up clicking on the link and reading again (and getting stuck for an hour or two..). There were 3 fics though I went back re-reading several times, either as a whole or specific chapters: "Tabu" by Krissy Chaos (in German), "Prisoners" by Whitetail and "Voluptas Noctis Aeternae" by @lov3nerdstuff (@nightrose64 ). (Speaking of which, time to remind myself of some of its stellar chapters) They were positively haunting me for months, I laughed and tore up and fantasised about specific quotes and plot twists and was obsessed over them in general. Magnificent stuff.

"A fic which brought me aboard a new ship"

From all the possible gay ships with Snape, the only one I can somehow identify with is Snarry. Because of their special connection, the tension one might want to see between them...and because people usually write them in a very authentic way.

BUT. There was a fic I was recommended once, which I never expected myself to read because I can't see anything between them : Severus and Sirius Black. I was told it is harsh. Cruel. Hard to read. I took the challenge and never regretted it. "Walking the Monochrome" was tragic, intense, horrifying and complete, and Sirius' role made so much sense in his slow recognition of Severus and attchment, even though there was no smut at all. After it, I could well imagine them change

"A fic I'd display on my bookshelf"

Definitely "Moment of Impact" by suitesamba. It is much more a saga than a fic, one could seperatr it by length into a few different books. An amazingly serious series, much more complex than the actual books, to be honest. And the language. The continuity, the separate life the characters aquire... It's Severitus, one of my most favourite ships. Severus is magnificent there.

And then there is "Voluptas Noctis Aeternae" by @lov3nerdstuff . My first grown-up read fic I believe. So many chapters, so many episodes, such extraordinary language and character analysis, and even if unfortnuately still a WIP, I'd literally print it out if it wasn't so expensive. I fell in love with it from first sight and so I remained (Severus × OC).

Ahhhh I have a ship name, thank you :D - I could have got into all sorts of trouble tagging it completely wrong too LOL.

God this fic. I feel like I have been talking about it for years, I think I probably have. I can't seem to finish it. It's just...heavy. Heavy to write, heavy to get into the headspace, it makes my heart hurt (am I selling it??? :D). I come back to it in waves, write in a burst then put it to one side for months. I actually think it will have a hopeful ending, but the getting there is rough tbh.

Here's a fairly long extract pre getting together, pre Hermione/Ron breaking up and the start of Hermione feeling some kind of way about women. Under the cut <3

Hermione makes her way to the bar, through the crowds of people who all seem friendly enough. As she waits to be served, she notices Ginny chatting to someone close to the stage.

“Here you go.” After battling her way back through the throngs of people, Hermione hands over a pint of cider to Ginny. “I’m Hermione.”

“Cool.” The girl swigs her beer and shoots Hermione a rakish smile. “Sam. I’m with the band.”

“They’re amazing,” Hermione replies. Ginny seems unusually quiet, her cheeks pink. “I was just saying to Ginny how brilliant it is here.”

Hermione knows she’s babbling but there’s something about Sam that makes her hot and unusually self-conscious. She’s finely attuned to the loose material of her dress, her sensible white wine spritzer and the way her hair is probably wild and untamed after all the dancing. Sam seems so cool with electric, ice-blonde hair, a loose vest and low-slung jeans. Hermione bets Sam doesn’t stare at herself in the mirror and see a stranger looking back.

“How long have you two been together?” Sam waves at someone else across the bar. She holds up a finger and mouths "one minute."

“Just a couple of hours,” Hermione says. “We went to the pub first.”

“You move quick.” Sam laughs under her breath. “Alright, I’m coming. Have a good night, yeah?”

Just like that the space is empty and Hermione can breathe again. She glances at Ginny who can’t seem to meet Hermione’s gaze. “You’re quiet.”

“I don’t have to talk all the time,” Ginny snaps. She glares at Hermione. “For someone with a gazillion Outstanding N.E.W.T.s you can’t half be dense.”

“There’s no need to be like that.”

“We’ve been together for a couple of hours?” Ginny snorts. “Together, she meant. Like…romantically or whatever.”

“Oh.” A rush of heat travels through Hermione’s body. The realisation that Sam might have been interested in Ginny—that Ginny might have been interested in Sam—makes her unreasonably irritated. “So sorry for cramping your style.”

“It bothers you, doesn’t it?” Ginny scowls, looking at the floor. “I knew it would.”

“It bothers me that I’m just a spare part, if that’s what you mean.” Hermione’s irritation deepens, part annoyance, part embarrassment.

“You’re not a spare part.” Ginny looks up at Hermione, her frown softening. “I don’t know how to do this. I don’t know how to be this. I don’t know anything about any of it.”

“You will,” Hermione replies, quietly.

“Yeah?” Ginny sighs and leans back against the stage. “How can you be so sure?”

“Because you’re Ginny Weasley.” Hermione leans next to Ginny, their sides nudging together. “And she’s brilliant.”

Hiya Light! Wanna tell me about WIP #9 please? 👀

Yes! Yes I very much do! Petunia and Eileen, working title. This one is such a random cobbled together fic I don't even have a proper excerpt since it is mainly a List of Things, but:

Eileen was sent away before the second war by Severus to protect her. Harry finds out about this somehow and goes to track down Eileen and figure out how to repay his debt to Snape via Eileen and ends up basically moving in with her to fix up house. She is a mean old lady but they become friends.

MEANWHILE Severus has faked his own death and moved to a muggle area to recover from Nagini and stay out of the magical world forever. Wouldn't you know it, he moved right next door to the Dursleys. Petunia is head of the neighborhood association. She is not pleased to find Severus moved in, but she's softened a bit and wants to know what the hell ended up happening with all that magical war nonsense. Petunia redemption arc and some unlikely bonding. Severus and Petunia brotp.

So eventually Harry decides he forgot to tell his family they aren't in immediate danger from a maniacal dark lord anymore, and walks right in on Petunia and Severus hanging out. Bonus, Eileen has come with him because they are bros.

Harry's like um, your mom thinks your dead. Severus wants to know why Harry's best friends with Eileen suddenly. Harry wants to know why he's best friends with Harry's aunt suddenly. An awkward time is had by all.

And eventually Snarry happens, much to everyone's surprise.

Also eventually, Petunia/Eileen, much to the boy's abject horror.

my year in fic - 2022

Partygoers laugh and cheer within the manor, sound muffled by the doors. Harry presses Severus against the balcony railing. Leans in. Severus turns his face away. Harry mouths at his neck instead.

Welcome to the Family - (Lucius/Ron, Hermione/Narcissa, Draco/Sirius, Harry/Snape, M, 4k.) Written for Rare Pair Fest 21/22. Valentine’s Day goes from bad to worse when Draco discovers his parents’ secret relationships.

“Calm down, darling,” Narcissa says. “Listen, my love, listen.” Draco would like to tell her he doesn’t need this sort of coddling, except that he does. “Sometimes, when a man and a woman respect each other very much and are in need of an heir, they marry and perform the…necessary physical requirements to produce a pregnancy.” 

“Isn’t this supposed to go ‘when a man and a woman love each other very much’?” Draco asks.

Narcissa and Lucius share a look. 

A Matter of Time - (Snarry, E, 3k.) Written for Snarry Adopt-a-Prompt. Severus is outed as a spy and grievously injured. Harry doesn’t react well, leading those closest to him to wonder: Just why is Harry so devastated about Severus’ condition?

Now that Harry has witnessed Severus’ vulnerability, he is content to be manhandled into Severus’ arms. Harry winds arms and legs — skinny, but strong — around Severus, and tucks his head into Severus’ neck. And as Severus squeezes him in close, Harry wiggles in even closer. Until Severus is unsure where one ends and the other begins. Until he cannot tell his own heartbeat from Harry’s, his own breath. 

Harry mumbles three words into Severus neck, that Severus pretends not to hear. Instead he presses his mouth to Harry’s head to stifle untamed sentiment. 

9 January 2022 - (Snarry, T, 1k.) Severus turns 62.

Shiny black wrapping paper sits neatly folded on the table. Gold and silver balloons bob over Severus’ head. A stack of sparkly pink candles. Warm, moist spice cake. A cold, snowy day. Silliness and tradition.

And love, a warm glow in Severus’ dark eyes, even as Severus mocks the cake and the mittens and the childish decorations. Harry listens to his eyes, not his words, and he smiles. 

smile with sweet surprise - (Snarry, E, WIP.) Updated with chapter 2. Harry is barely sixteen. Had barely blown out his candle when Severus kissed him.

Severus ducks his head and looks down at his boots. Black boots that trampled over the rainbow path. A bit of purple ribbon curls out from beneath his foot. Severus grinds his boot down into it, then kicks it away.

Never again. He’ll never touch Harry again. 

Severus steps back and draws his wand to clean the mess they made.

The Alchymist II - (Snarry, Kingco, Snarry/Kingco, E, 4k.) Written for Kinkuary. Sequel to The Alchymist. 2 married couples, 1 hotel room = a lot of fun and a lot of trouble.

Severus is not alone in his jealous nature, but it is his jealousy that has been tested the most. Since their night with Draco, Harry has not strayed beyond casual touches and mild flirtation. Still, it is enough to send Severus up the wall. Every violent, hateful desire in Severus’ soul rises to the surface each time. Wars with his desire, and the pleasure of beauty. And this — Harry touching not one, but two others, is more loathing and arousal than he can stand. 

But Severus has been tested time and again. And he accepted long ago the depths of his own madness where Harry Potter is concerned. 

Obscene - (Snarry, E, 1k.) Written for Kinkuary. Never has Severus been so wet outside of heat. It’s humiliating; obscene.

Severus didn’t dare look him in the eye, that first night, but he glares into them now. He’d rather be bent over the desk. Would rather not see or be seen, but his pride damns him. 

Now he’s cursed by the sight of Potter’s mussed hair and his flushed cheeks. Green eyes darkened by desire. The glint of slick caught in his beard. Mouth reddened and plump. 

He dares not blink. Dares not make a sound. Dares not melt into Potter’s touch the way he so longs to. Severus, too, is controlled.

"You're a fool," Severus says. The tone is not so harsh or mocking as it might be by day. It is tender, and sad. Another I love you, unspoken.

"I want that," Harry continues. "I want to be yours." He steps nearer. Severus' heart leaps. "And I want you to be mine."

Black Skies - (Regulus/Severus, Regulus/Sirius, E, 7k.) Written for Blackcest Fest. Sirius won't give Regulus the love he needs, so he seeks it from Severus instead.

Madness runs in the family, it is said. It has always been in Sirius. Flickers of it in his endless enthusiasm. Sparks of it in his eyes, however easy and cool his smile. The edge of madness in his casual cruelty. 

All of his Gryffindor brashness…it is the Black madness at its most evident. The most colorful, wild side to their innate offness. 

Sirius is one of them, however well he hides it, and Regulus cannot help but laugh, though he doesn’t think it very funny. Not funny, but thrilling. 

While Severus’ passion awakened Regulus, Sirius’ madness calls to him, deep and primal. It’s not a good feeling, really, but a familiar one, and Regulus cannot help but reach out for more.

Orange Blossoms - (Snarry, T, 3k.) Written HP Flowers - Spring Round. Also my gift to myself for my birthday. These are foolish times to have hope, and more foolish still to be in love. 

The boy left with less fuss than Severus expected, only to make his move once the sun's disapproving eye set. It is by the moon's mercy Harry leaves love letters in secret languages. Apple blossom and pansy. Fern and foxglove. Myrtle and dahlia. 

Severus brews potions in the evenings, nutritional blends to sustain the flowers that now overrun every available surface of his quarters.

Harry never need know the mark he’s made, the beauty and vibrancy with which he’s colored Severus’ life. He’ll never be allowed one foot inside of Severus’ quarters, and Severus will never reveal his heart. 

Contempt - (Snarry, E, 20k.) Written for Snarry-a-Thon. Also the best thing I've ever written ever. Harry hates Snape, and he always will. (He will, won’t he?)

Harry doesn't remember much from Defense. Not history or theory or even incantations. Instead he remembers the sweep of Snape's robes and the click of his boots. He remembers the position of Snape's fingers around his wand. The precise motion of his wrist. The shape of his lips around every spell. 

He remembers and he hates.

(And wants and hates and wants and hates and wants.)

In My Veins (In My Blood) - (Snarry, Harry/Death Eaters, E, 7k.) Originally meant to be for a fest. Ended up posting on my own when I realized the story I needed to tell wouldn't fit the fest requirements. DEAD DOVE. Voldemort wins the war and rewards the Death Eaters with a prize: Harry Potter. What he doesn't know is that Harry already belongs to one of them.

Fierce green eyes meet gleaming red. Severus dares not breathe. The Dark Lord might do anything; might slip inside his mind and dig up every last secret. He might rip Harry’s mind apart. He’ll turn his wand on Severus then. The light will hardly have gone out of Harry’s eyes by the time Severus joins him in death. 

That would be a mercy, really; a blessing. 

Instead, Harry and the Dark Lord grin at one another, equally unamused. 

Safe - (Snarry, E, 6k.) Updated with chapter 2/final chapter. Dead dove. Harry is sure of a lot of things, until he isn't.

“I’m fine,” Harry says yet again, but he smiles all the same. Turns his head for a kiss that Severus instantly grants. Soft. Tender. Loving. Harry feels like he should be annoyed, but isn’t. 

Maybe he does need soft sometimes. And maybe it’s okay to let Severus take care of him. Maybe it’s okay to not be okay. To need this. Severus is happy enough to provide it. And Harry loves his care as much as he loves his cruelty. 

Free Falling - (Ginmione, T, 200.) Tumblr prompt. Hermione faces her fear of flying to spend time with Ginny.

They’re falling, falling – she’s falling – 

Ginny catches them, pulling out of the dive before they crash into the earth. Hermione burrows her face into Ginny’s neck and huffs out a hysterical giggle.

Red All Over - (Gwenevera, E, 1k.) Written for Kinktober. It’s that time of the month. You know. The time for sex. OR: Gwenog & Ginny celebrate the Harpies' latest win the best way they know how.

She is flayed open. Freer than she’s ever been. The world is sharp and bright. All of the secrets of her soul exposed, cradled safely between their bodies. 

Eventually, Gwen suggests a shower, and Ginny huddles closer in response. She isn’t ready to face reality just yet. Isn’t ready to break this fragile perfection. It takes quiet praise and playful teasing to coax her down to earth. But it is Gwen’s deft fingers dancing down her ribs that finishes the job. Ginny yelps and jerks up to slap Gwen’s arm. Gwen only laughs and tugs Ginny back down.

Blue Velvet - (Snarry, Snarryus, 3k.) Written for Kinktober. Snarryus is Harry/Scorpius/Severus btw. Please forgive my undying love for portmanteaus. Scorpius wants Harry. Harry wants Scorpius. All Severus wants is for Harry to be happy (damn him.)

They are priceless luxury. Their radiance calls to Severus’ greed. The heat of his arousal does not touch the cold within. Severus touches himself, and hates himself. 

Stop. Don’t. He should have put an end to this farce before it began. Harry is his, body and soul; it matters not how lovely and lovable his toy is.

Of course Harry wants him. Look at him. One taste will not be enough. But this is as much punishment as gift. Let Harry have his desires, and ruin all they’ve built. Let the blond slut wreck their lives. This is the price of Harry’s covetousness; the price of Severus’ possession. 

Chain Reaction of Countermoves - (Snarry, E, 2k.) Written for Kinktober. Sequel to last year's Kinktober fic Clandestine Meetings & Stolen Stares. Harry’s had enough detentions with Headmaster Snape, hasn’t he? Now he has to meet him after graduation, too? Or: Graduation doesn’t come soon enough, but come it does.

 “You didn’t bring me here for a drink,” Harry tells him, and snatches the bottle as Severus reaches for it. 

“I didn’t bring you here at all,” Severus mutters darkly. 

Harry snorts. A case of semantics won’t distract Harry, not now. Too far he’s come, too long he’s waited. The words that have clogged his throat all year burst forth — for a moment his mouth is overfull, and clumsy, so accustomed to holding back, and so afraid to confess — but the dam finally breaks, and he says, “You know I love you, don’t you?”
