Wiki says Smurfette is Vanity's best friend and I say, hahaha. Better rephrase that! 🙄 What she's given him so far is only a crumb of occasional advice when he was a lizard, one kiss on the cheek when his little toe was fractured, small talk here and there, and one hug on Hug-a-smurf-Day.... I'm like, "Girl,...just give him triple your attention, love, and support! 💛 He needs to be adored!"😲 By golly, I would give Vanity Smurf my whole HEART, my LIFE, my SOUL, and the universe of unwavering affection!! 🪞💘💖

So.... I've been gone for a bit... Lotta stuff happened I don't wanna go into... Anyways, as a ln apology, I give you some au doodles, ship art, and whatevs. Keep in mind I found the ship chart on Google.

LET'S GET THEM OUT OF THE WAY! (Honestly I'm not that proud of how I drew Vexy, but I was rushing a bit so...)

I have been a Grouchy x Vexy fan since I first watched the Smurfs 2 movie, and I wish I saw more of it! It's cute, their both touch starved individuals with defensive attitudes, and it's a WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN THE FRICKN M'M THING IN THE FIRS MOVIE! (Even I I did find it somewhat comical in a way.) But, these two have my heart, I tried my best to make the chart based off there personalities and he au. I think their relationship would be like Angel Dust and Husk, since I can't stop imagining them singing Loser, Baby.

Okay, this one's a bit of a hot take. But, I'm a fan of it, and I ship it. Also, if I could change one thing about the chart, it would be to replace the picture of Fizzarolli and Asmodeus, and to replace it with a picture of Raj and Bowie from the Total Drama Island Reboot. But, again, I was rushing and forgot about said characters at the moment.

So I saw a few people do there own Smurfs au and I thought to myself why can't I? So this is based on a dream I had but what if Smurfette wasn't created alone. And what if Vanity, Jokey, Clumsy and Brainy were also Smurfettes created by Gargamel.

I mean Smurfette represents Lust

Vanity is Vain

Jokey is a Pranskter

Clumsy is adorable innocent but destructive

And Well Brainy he is known for a lot of trouble.

All these qualities can make them Naughties as well. Now this au is a Blend of the Cartoon and live action movie. Not the lost village.

Without further ado here are the girls

Vanity Smurfette

Second Eldest right after Smurfette. Gargamel named her after she wouldn't stop staring at herself in his mirrors. As a Naughty her Vainess is 100%. To the point where she would call her own Sisters ugly. However deep down she had some insecurities. This all changed when she was forced to hang out with Farmer. At First the Naughty hated working in the fields. However Farmer always treated her like a lady. And she had to admit to herself that he was very attractive. Because of his Kindness towards her she decided she wanted to become a real Smurfette.

She has a crush on Farmer but isn't to sure he actually notices her. ( He does he just to shy to approach a beautiful woman)

Her phobia is 🐍.

Jokey Smurfette

Like her actual male canon character this girl loves Jokes and playing pranks. Even on her own Father Gargamel. Third Sister in line she sometimes felt completely invisible so she would do pranks to get attention. She suffers from Middle child syndrome definitely. When she gets to Smurf village she is helping her sister Smurfette wreck things in the village. However she still tried to make them laugh. She would exceed at almost all of them except a certain grump. No matter how hard she tried he would not laugh. This frustrated her. However she decided to make it her life goal. To make Grouchy Smurf laugh. It wasn't until he cracked a tiny smile that she decided she wanted to be a true Smurfette.

She has a crush on Grouchy, however she feels he will never feel the same way. ( He does his ego won't let him show it)

Oh and to Vexy and Grouchy shippers 😔. At first I shipped them too but now I feel the romance was rushed way too fast so I'm Pairing her with Marina. ( Vexy x Marina)

Clumsy Smurfette

Probably the most innocent thing in the entire world. Even when she was a naughty. Gargamel called her a mistake because of her innocent nature. When she arrived at Smurf village she didn't really want to cause trouble however trouble just seemed to follow her. She would accidentally wreck everything in sight. Being second youngest also meant her sisters were a bit protective of her. Of course she was always hurt by Vanity mean words ( she apologized once they all became true Smurfettes) To her surprise Handy seemed to like having her around cause even after accidently broke something she was willing to fix it immediately. When The Smurfs found out the Smurfettes were all Naughties. Hefty and Handy took it the hardest. Seeing Handy cry make Clumsy want to be a real Smurfette

She has a crush on Handy but is too shy to pursue it. She held it back when He started Dating Marina but when Marina broke up with him and starting Dating Vexy she fell in love with him again ( Handy did like her but he just fell for Marina he fell for Clumsy later though)

Brainy Smurfette

She is the youngest of the Smurfettes something her older sisters minus Clumsy who she is very close to do. Because of this from the beginning she tried to act older than she was. Like Clumsy she was often bullied by Vanity however unlike her she didn't take it lying down. Her sisters were pretty overprotective of her at First. Now when she was created she was blind at first. She got her name through her personality not her glasses. Because of her blindness and brash personality she was causing the most trouble. Papa smurf however could tell something wasn't right and after the Smurfette collided with Gutsy Smurf even though she was right in front of him he relaized want was wrong. He gave her glasses so she could see. After that Brainy came to respect the village leader and even was interested in the magic he did. Because of Papas kindness and totally not cause she didn't want to be left out or cause she had a teeny crush on the Smurf she fell on she decided she wanted to be a real Smurfette

She has a TEENY crush on Gutsy Smurf. If you ask or tell her she loves him be prepared for a hours long speech on how there not compatible ( she is obviously lying of course 😊)

Gutsy likes her too but like Brainy don't tell him unless you want to be smurfed out of the village)

-takes place in like a mordern variant of Smurf village, still small though. the au is more of a holy grail war au, though the holy grail is still considered corrupt and there has been at least 4 wars (grandpa Smurf and papa Smurf each being in two seperate wars with differing conclusions)

the heroic spirits are kinda linked to a hypothetical Smurf religion, each individual with a legend not related to any real world variants

hommonculi are still a thing, Smurfette being a notable example, created by gargamel for reasons of power/magic like In fate/apocrypha (so like irisivel)

mage families aren’t really a thing in this au in comparison to the main ones in fate (like the tohsakas, einzberns, Matous etc)

Gargamel would probably be similar to Kotomine Kirei antagonist wise. Being a survivor in the previous war who decides to fuck shit up for the sake of power

so. turns out this was easier than i thought

also i have time to kill so. list below the cut!

1. Clumsy - sweetheart. doesn't have a mean bone in their body. very autistic.

2. Lazy - i don't know how to explain lazy being an unintentional allegory for people with invisible disabilities that are considered a burden and. lazy under capitalism. but he has a big heart and cares about his friends even when they're less than considerate towards him (seriously, WHAT was the slumber party episode? were they like, intentionally trying to torture him?)

3. Jokey - "Oh, the folly of a clown, masking his loneliness with a joke!" <- person who definitely doesn't have any internal issues :). Also can we just appreciate the fact that he has ONE main prank and everybody still falls for it. (not to mention that the prank is. giving people bombs)

4. Timid - he BABY

5. Scaredy - he baby 2

6. Smurfette - specifically lost village smurfette cuz that was where she peaked. you go girl give us an identity crisis and journey of self-discovery only to find the answer was with you all along!

7. Greedy - comics/ 2021 specifically, because him and chef being distinct characters is funny as hell. he's so cute i would totally give him a muffin if he asked.

8. Harmony - he sucks so bad at what he's supposed to be best at! and i think that's so interesting and criminally underexplored! and every time he gets the other smurfs to like his music it ends badly :(.

9. Painter - dramatic ass bitch (affectionate). why was he the only french person in belgium.

10. Doctor - i assume that one's doctor at least. it is now. anyways he's funny as hell, like harmony he's also...bad at his passion. he doesn't have a reason to be a quack, he's just. Like That.

11. Reporter - I like his voice.

12. Poet - there is NO need to speak in couplets all the time, he's so extra.

13. Tailor - "*terrible Kip King impression* EVERYBODY STOP COMPLAINING OR I'LL SCREAM." He's really nice, he made Smurfette that dress in one episode even though he was busy, and he made Tracker a fur coat out of the scraps he gave him and Vanity a scarf with his face hand-embroidered on it just because? AND more importantly, he's very blunt. i like that :)

14. Hefty - no no you didn't see my love for strong muscular guys that are kind and caring and totally whipped for that one girl. ok he's not maws level but like. if you can put "she's so high" by tal bachman in a ship playlist then you've got a valid m/f ship

15. Grouchy - let him say hate again oh god please i will tear my ears out if i have to hear "me, I don't like x" again. fuckin WEAK. also the grammar i wanna curl up on the floor and cry.

16. Farmer - remember when all the smurfs only wore white pants so to distinguish farmer from the others he would just be randomly carrying a hoe for no reason. also his accent is SO silly in the new cartoon i love it.

17. Vanity - just...watch this.

18. Brainy - i'm sorry for putting him so low brainy fans can you ever forgive me /hj. with all fairness i do think he's an interesting character! he's just...interesting in a way that doesn't really appeal to me specifically.

19. Handy - i feel like he would build a doomsday device if he got bored one afternoon and honestly? i respect that.

20. Papa Smurf - sometimes he's a good father figure. sometimes he's a terrible "father figure". it depends on the medium. and the direction of the wind.

21. King (pretentious) Smurf - made a whole authoritarian regime in like. two days. what the hell man.

It’s somewhere in the middle of au and just. Really extensive headcanons that have gone completely out of line… My terrible little verse.

Most basic explanation of it is that my Smurfs are a race of moon elf that like.. got cursed (DUBIOUS FANTASY MANY GENERATIONS TIME) ago to be Wee Folk, instead of carbon based theyre magic based mammals, Papa’s village is the *actual* lost village while the Grove is just. A fun WLW enclave, and all the Smurfs in Papa’s village are either firstborns he got from shady deals in his youth he never expected to get paid off (~10-20%), unwanted children or orphans left to die in the woods Be Taken By The Smurfling’s Witch (~another 20%), and the rest is mainly just Smurfs who wandered in or were connected to him one way or another before he retreated to the woods away from all society to be a weird guy. He’s a former adventurer because I’m a sucker for funny rpg type content.

Their speech is heavily laden with natural magic, so while to human ears it sounds like theyre just saying Smurf a bunch its just because we can’t process the weird echos and intricacies of their natural magic. Actually most other species can’t hear Smurf language fully. Smurvish is a mix of the common language of the area + their weird magic echo talk.

Most important thing is they all have cute fluffy white legs with lil paws and sharp claws. Big pointy teeth too. They’re non-obligate carnivores, and while theyre all made of magic only some of em can Consciously access it to do things like spell casting etc.

Some more misc stuff below:

Brainy n Hefty’s parents were very close to Papa and part of an adventuring party with him ~~he slept with 3/4~~, Brainy’s died when he was a wee kid and he latched hard onto Uncle Papa, while Hefty’s two mums (hes got a tat for each mum !! Loves his mums!!) chef and baker settled down in the village eventually after spending a lot of Hefty’s formative years leaving him there on trips. Child rearing for Smurfs is often a communal task unless smth is Very Wrong (hence, unwanted children get abandoned to get taken up by Papa’s stork familiars) so Hefty is fine with it. He loves his Uncle. Great guy !!

There’s two main naming conventions for Smurfs: Old fashioned Witch-read names, and the much more modern Botanical/Natural themed ones. There’s no gender distinction between these names, theres plenty of women and nonbinary smurfs in papas village. Smurf being at the front or end of a name is purely a location based thing, either way it’s essentially adding a polite thing suffix/prefix like Miss X or X-san etc. The weird magic speech stuff is also involved here, since some of the echos also contain the home location of the Smurf.

Witch-read names basically involve a witch getting fucked on magic potions and scrying your babies future, and whatever word they vaguely mumble in their haze? That’s the kids name, good or bad. Papa was designated female at birth but still received the name Papa because the witch reading his name was like oh yeah dad vibes for sure. Smurfette’s name is actually just Smurf but it’s the specific word for their species’ inherent magic <:3c bc papa is sappy and thats his doughter. Nobody Smurf was named that initially bc he’s Vanity’s mirror self, and straight up reflected Papa’s magic when he tried to read his name, meaning he just registered as… no one there….. Papa was very apologetic about this and offered to give him one of those Fancy New Fangled Modern Names but eventually Nobody just changed his name to Somebody. He’s not really bothered by it.

Tryin to think what else… Gargamel is the closest human to understanding Smurf speech because he truly is Obsessed with them and spends so much time in their company and has absorbed so much like… of their basic radiated magic from just hanging out with them/trying to eat/refine them. He doesn’t know this. He can’t access the magic he’s absorbed from them without it being refined into smurf essence, or that he’s even absorbed any of it. It’s extended his life span greatly though. He’s got a weird thing going on with papa, if they were the same species they’d have been divorced three or four times by now.

I am. Literally always happy to ramble about my silly little verse wheeze this is already such a long post though ARGH
