I have a lot of love for red ales and Smithwick’s Red Ale is a great representation for the style. They feel like a bridge between the pale refreshing ales and the darker brown ales or stouts with more complexity. This is a really solid beer that I had while hanging out with friends and think it’s a super easy beer to throw back and enjoy. Slight roasty darker flavors in the background but still very refreshing. 7/10

È l'artista irlandese Garreth Joyce l'autore dell'opera posta sull'edificio che ospita il tour 'Smithwick's Experience', l'esperienza multisensoriale per conoscere a fondo la birra rossa irlandese. Il murale di Parliament Street, realizzato prima dell'estate 2022, celebra Kilkenny e le sue inconfondibili ricchezze. St Francis Abbey, Kilkenny Castle e St Canice's Cathedral, senza tralasciare la musica e lo sport, tratti distintivi della città a sud dell'Irlanda. Ovviamente non poteva mancare il protagonista principale di questa splendida opera: l'inconfondibile Red Ale. Smithwick's, la rossa irlandese per eccellenza, dalla bassa gradazione ma con una storia assolutamente da scoprire, dal 1710 fedelmente presente sui banconi dei pub d'Irlanda e non solo. L'ennesima bellissima opera street art presente sull'isola, capace di sintetizzare al meglio l'essenza di questo paese. D'altronde gli ingredienti non mancano affatto. Arte, storia, sport, tra un passato da ricordare e un futuro da scrivere. Magari con una pinta in mano. 🇮🇪 🍻 🧱 🎨
