I was gonna save Halloween stuff for Halloween itself but in celebration of Slender: The Arrival getting a graphics update TOMORROW 🧍‍♀️ here’s Kate :]

I think Slender: The Arrival(and I mean the original, not the remaster that changes every model) had the right idea with making it much broader and imposing.

But, it'd make more sense if that was a different form it changes into. Like you have the scrawny, slender form that most are familiar with, then you have a more intimidating form specifically meant to be frightening and intimidating.

Because, despite what most people say, the Slender Man isn't scary entirely because of it's appearance(though there definitely is the whole uncanny valley aspect of the appearance of an unnaturally tall, pale man with a fucked up face), it's because of what it does and how it acts. The way it actively seeks those who know even the slightest bit of info about it so it can kill them and prevent them from telling anyone else(that must be a nightmare for it given the internet has an entire archive of photos for it) along with the horror of it being able to kidnap loads of kids from right under the noses of people. We don't even know what it does with the kids it takes, though the Jake Greenwood pictures created by Victor Surge heavily implies that it does kill children(but this is dubiously canon seeing that it was the only collection of photos that Surge never reposted to his DA page).

It also really isn't a "Faker" form type of thing in comparison to most retakes or reboots of Sonic.Exe, since it deliberately takes the form of a man-thing in a suit. It doesn't seem to be trying to blend in as a man in a suit since it looks too wrong to be human.

Maybe at one time it was trying to blend in but just... gave up?

Slender: The Arrival ’10th Anniversary Update’ launches October 18 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

The Slender: The Arrival “10th Anniversary Update” will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on October 18 for $19.99, developer Blue Isle Studios announced. It will support English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, and Portuguese language options. All pre-orders will include a free copy of Valley. Xbox Series pre-orders are available today, while PlayStation 5 pre-orders will begin on September 19.

This revisualized version of Slender: The Arrival will arrive in celebration of the game’s 10th anniversary. According to Blue Isle Studios, “every shadow, every material, and ever hair-rising encounter with the mysterious Slender Man” has been rendered in “stunning detail only possible with Unreal Engine 5.”

The new version will also include a new chapter—a new story where Charlie Matheson’s father experiences his worst nightmare.

“It’s been 10 years since the original launch and we’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to improve and add to the game,” said Blue Isle Studios co-founder and lead designer Alex Tintor in a press release. “There are many more Slender Man stories to tell, and we cannot wait to deliver on these experiences.”
