Your part in the plan to get Sieglinde to safety is because you care deeply about her, of course.

But it’s also because you don’t think WOLFRAM has the guts to point a gun at your head.

For some reason you have yet to fathom, the two of you started to bond while you and your master and friends have been here in Germany. As grumpy and rigid as he seemed, you thought there was something kind lurking under that. You wonder if he fooled you, too, with the way he showed you little glimpses of something like that.

Regardless, you’re sure he’d be fine being on even footing with just Bard. No qualms about shooting, swinging, punching, at him. At you, though? Everyone else has seen the way Wolfram looks at you. The quiet, borderline romantic moments you’ve shared.

There’s no way he could shoot at you without being indecisive, and that is exactly what this situation needs. The more you can distract him, the more times he hesitates to make a move, the more chance you have of getting Sieglinde out of this forest alive.

You’re not as comfortable with a gun in your hand as Bard is. The unfortunate truth is that the effect of this goes both ways; it’s difficult for you to aim your weapon at Wolfram. Even though you have this gun, you’re hoping to serve as a diversion more than anything. When all is said and done, as angry as you are with him, you don’t want him dead.

It wasn’t so long ago that you remember how he looked at you when you were laughing at something, as if suddenly it was the first time he’d ever heard a person laugh. Or when you woke up to him carrying you back to your bed, because you’d fallen asleep after reading to Sieglinde one night.

Your brain knows that you should be ruthless if you want to avoid the risk that he won’t let you leave with Sieglinde. Your heart, unfortunately, is very, very stupid, and still cares as deeply about this man as it does about her.

All you have to do is run and fire warning shots, enough to keep Wolfram’s attention so that Bard can set up something he thinks will stop this soldier. You’re more terrified than you’ve ever been in your life… and yet, your anger at his role in Sieglinde’s imprisonment carries you.

What was he thinking? Doesn’t he care about her? He must. He doesn’t treat her like some thing, he treats her gently.

So why? The lack of an answer gnaws at you more than anything.

This is not some emotionless warrior who wants to keep her locked away forever. What you know happened is at odds with what you’ve seen while you’ve stayed here.

You just don’t understand. Wolfram as a person embodies the concept of sweetness in simplicity. Has he just been pretending? Is he really some kind of… cold-hearted mastermind?

The explosion of Bard’s making snaps you out of your thoughts, and you think there’s no way that Wolfram could get up completely fine from it. Your gun falls from shaking hands, your heart violently hoping that he’ll stay down. Hoping that all of this is going to be over.

(You just pray he isn’t dead.)

When he emerges from the smoke with only a few scratches and singes, you can scarcely believe it. Your hands refuse to pick your gun back up, and instead you watch him tangle with your friend for what feels like an eternity.

It’s as if your whole world is spinning out of control. You thought you’d finally found someone who you might want to share your life with, someone kind who felt the same, then… he has his own secrets that have come to light, something you never could have expected. You feel betrayed for yourself, and you feel betrayed for Sieglinde who you’ve begun to view as a daughter.

And to make it worse, as betrayed as you feel, there is no part of you that wishes Wolfram to die. In fact, a very large part of you clings to the hope that he’ll repent, he’ll do something to be a better person, he’ll… turn into some fairytale prince.

You hate that your mind is even giving you the possibility of things working out. This is real life, not a story. The fact that you want a happy ending doesn’t make a difference to what’s actually going to happen.

What’s real anymore, anyway? Were his feelings real? Anything he said to you? Was the way he looked at you and said he could see “so many colors” real?

In the blink of an eye, Wolfram has broken away from his battle with Bard, and you have precious few seconds to keep him from going anywhere. The more time you can give everyone, the better. You don’t know what you intend to do without your gun, but you rush forward to stop him anyway.

Your bare hands clash against his shoulders, your whole self trying to hold him back. He can’t do anything to you. The way his eyes flash at you in surprise spell it out for you if there was any doubt: unlike Bard, you are someone Wolfram isn’t willing to hurt.

Too bad you’ve already done that by lying to me.

“How could you?!” Your voice comes out shrill, too high, and you realize it’s because you’ve started to cry. This whole situation has become too much. Although you’ve been learning German from being here, you don’t know how to accurately express every bit of your rage and pain without doing it in your native language.

It’s awful and raw and you hate it. Obviously you didn’t get a chance to really talk with Wolfram about anything, so it all comes out in the way that a pot boils over.

Much as you push against him, you know you’re getting nowhere. He’s solid muscle, too strong for you to make a dent in keeping him in place. Still he struggles against you, as if your force is doing anything.

He acts as if you’ve stabbed him when you start to pound at his chest and shoulders. His eyes widen, reflecting the betrayal that you’ve been feeling this whole time. “You helped them cripple her and keep her here!” you continue to shout, your soul leaching out into every word. “She’s just a little girl! How could you?! How could you?!”

That seems to be all you can say.

You need him to tell you. You need this all to make sense, because it doesn’t.

You’re not sure where exactly you fail, but all you know is that you do.

He gets by you, he discovers that you’ve tricked him too, and the rest of your plan goes off without a hitch.

Right up until Wolfram ends up getting shot.

You don’t know if it’s better or worse that it isn’t you who shot him. It comes right after he’s started to beg Sieglinde’s forgiveness, and whatever else is true, you don’t want to lose him.

The last thing you do, before Sebastian drags him under Ciel’s order onto the train, is to scream Wolfram’s name and collapse at his side.

Life proves, once again, that it is no fairytale.

The train ride is long and torturous. You’re not sure when you stop crying, only that after several moments, Sebastian escorts you away from Wolfram and Sieglinde so you can calm down.

You don’t really calm down, though. Not until you’re well settled into your lodgings for the night. That comes with the added benefit that a doctor has looked at Wolfram, courtesy of your host Diedrich.

He’s going to be fine, most likely, and Sieglinde was taken in to speak to him. You’ve been nervous to do so; after all, you remember saying and thinking some terrible things to him. Even though his role in what happened to Sieglinde can’t be erased, there’s no denying that he loves her.

He knows what he did was wrong. He was willing to die just so that she would know the truth. If you think of her as your daughter, she was his first.

You slip into the room quietly, lowering yourself down onto the bed. You think your heart is much less stupid than before… at least, not stupid for caring about him. All of this is so complicated, and you can’t just call him a bad man when it seems he’s as much a victim of his superiors as Sieglinde.

“I don’t know,” you muse, reaching to run a hand through his hair, “a scar or two would suit you. But I’m also glad you’re probably going to escape without any.”

A puff of air is blown through his nose, that strikes you as the closest to a laugh he can muster up right now. He mutters something in German that you don’t quite catch before switching to English. “Scars are ugly. Would suit me very nice.”

… God, that’s not what you meant at all. This poor man. “No, scars aren’t ugly. And neither are you. Not inside nor out. What you did was very brave. Thank you for making sure our girl knew the truth.”

Your hand traces down from his hair to gently cup his cheek. “I’m sorry that I didn’t understand.”

“No… you understood. Not all, maybe, but you understood.” He shakes his head, though his expression clearly shows he’s melting into your touch. “I’m sorry. For lies, and… everything. Hurting you and Sieglinde… makes me very bad. It was the thing I never wanted to do, but… I did it.”

You lean over, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead. “… You’re not a bad person, Wolfram. You made a mistake, you did bad things, but you are not a bad person. You know it was wrong, and you’ve apologized, and you’re going to try to do better. Aren’t you?”

He looks almost like that kiss hurt him. As if it was something so new, so pleasant, that it was actually painful. “Ja. Better. Old Wolfram was shot and died. From now, I will be someone different.”

“Well, not entirely different, no?” You reach to set your hand, lightly, atop the injury on his wrist. “The old Wolfram was the one I fell for, after all. Maybe just be a better version of yourself than someone different.”

His face colors, a light pink dusting over his cheeks. “(Name)… you still want… me?”

Your fingers twine carefully around his. “Yes. I still want you. And we’ll figure everything else out, as long as… as long as you want me, too.”

“Bitte.” His hand squeezes yours. “More than I have wanted anything.”

Maybe life isn’t a fairytale.

But somehow, you think you might get a happily ever after anyway.

N – Name three things you wish you saw more of in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice):

This is tricky! I tend to just be like “Augh I wish there was more of that” and then forget all about it. I guess I’ll try thinking of things in the fandom and not in the canon material? Hm – tricky.

Black Butler fandom – I want more aroace William, or at least ace William, representation. I don’t want him shipped with Grelle, I want them being BFFs. *Pointing with judgement* Let them crack open a bottle of wine and/or whiskey by the fire after work and talk about nice, idle things, like their sonboy Ronald (who’s pawing at the babygate like the sad goldendoodle he is because he wasn’t allowed in due to his alcoholism).

Black Butler canon/fandom – I want Snake to speak for himself. Like, either in fanfiction or — more preferably — canon, where he at last breaks and, against the opinions of his snakes, goes “Fuck you, Ciel!” and then full stop. No “says Emily” or “exclaims Oscar”. Nothing. It’s meaningful. Poignant. You can tell that Snake is really hurt about having his found family lie to him so easily, to be betrayed by his second family after losing his first. This is Snake, even if it’s just for a moment, talking for himself. Poor Snake :(

Black Butler fandom – I want more creepypastas / grimdarks / etc.. Plain and simple, it’s meant to be a dark, perhaps horrific at times, franchise and so where are the creepy one shots? The “The Woman In Black” parodies? The subtly dark pieces where Ciel is stuck in an endless game of fleshy marionette for Sebastian’s own amusement? Where?

Sk8 the Infinity fandom/canon – I want more Adam-facing-consequences fics (and hopefully canon content in the upcoming season two), and Tadashi and Miya interaction, because those two look related and hardly interact in canon. I’ve only ever come across one (platonic) fic of them on AO3. One.

P – Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas):

Oh, this is tricky! I don’t think I think of many AUs? At the very least they’re fleeting and / for one shot purposes as opposed to a full-fledged universe? (Alternatively there’s also an idea I had of making a book of rarepair scraplets vaguely set in the same universe for the reader to piece together, like a one shot where Soma, Lizzie and Sieglinde are paired together “trying to get back to ‘x’” and Soma has to carry Sieglinde because her spider legs are broken and Wolfram is nowhere to be found.)

So seeing as you told me about your Snake/Edward / Sieglinde/Lizzie Friendship is Tragic-esque AU I’ll go ahead and state my Fallout Equestria-type one (why did I need brony comparisons for that?) that was kind of eluded to in this post (which is also kind of inspired by this post and its reblogs).

So in the post it was inspired by, I discussed if “shinigami and grim reapers” were different, and that “shinigami” were like “the original grim reapers” (don’t think of them like those things from Death Dote, but rather like The Exterminators from Hazbin) and that the redemption that the reapers work towards is actually fake, just a rumour used to keep them in line and then used as the excuse when reapers go “missing” (aka. the “Higher Up”, so to call them, of the original shinigami and/or older reapers that are in-the-know) to make way for newer reapers when Ole McLimboville becomes overcrowded (which it will as time progresses from the canon’s 1889 into modern day, as per real life suicide stats).

With my theory preluded, the AU would start off with Will’s “promotion/redemption” (#2 from (x)) (as it is known outwardly by the other reapers), but as the numbers begin to spike, a purge starts by the Higher Up / shinigami and Grelle and Ronald make it out after Grelle’s seen Othello die protecting her (a point which will later be paralleled when Grelle then does so for Ron), and go looking for the Undertaker, in case he knows what’s going on (after all, he and Othello are the same age-ish and Othello told them to find him).

I’d also thought about a possible, background Grelltaker flirtation, but that point can be ignored for now. I think if this is the case then Undertaker dies in front of Grelle rather than Othello, who, in this case, she just knows died? Also an point where Ron and Grelle begrudgingly take r!Ciel along with them (if he’s still alive / existing … he can be written out easily, though, I just remember him being a part of my original rough idea), and then it’s later just Ron looking after him after he and Grelle are separated (I’m still unsure whether a fakeout death is in order, or too cheesy to be worked into the plot well enough).

Essentially, it’s just Ronald then — as per his and Grelle’s plan after talking with the Undertaker — looking for a means to summon a demon (whether this will be Sebastian or not is undecided, though is the most likely because… why would I make an OC for something that isn’t TSoGtR? Really, now.) as to try and get an equal footing in the fight against the original shinigami (and the reapers in allegiance with them as part of the Higher Up’s council… as guides to the to-be ‘redeemed’, or even some of the redeemed themselves).

Perhaps there’s also a twisted element from the Higher Up like “You’re finally getting what you came here for/what you wanted, and yet you still fight it?”, when — on the reapers’ side of things — it’s actually because they want to avenge their friends for dying in massacre, so dishonourably (in some cases), and that they know that if they lose / give up, this will only go on and on, until it eventually happens again.

It’s an AU I definitely haven’t thought of in a while 😅 so trying to remember the better half of it was a bit of a struggle, but I enjoyed doing it! It’s a fun idea that I hope to revisit (though most probably will not, as I suck at action scenes / sequences / drama, so it would most likely turn out slow, and corny when it picks up pace, with plenty of emotional moments and monologues but not enough action/fighting).

Sorry it's taken me a while to speak up, but if you still have spaces, I have a question and a request. My question is this; what's your favourite arc of Black Butler, and why? For my request, I would like to ask for Undertaker x Reader (female) please. As for headcannons, here we go; 1) First meeting 2) Admitting feelings 3) First time having sex 4) Favourite things to do during sex 5) Finding out S/O is sick 6) Ways he gets S/O 'in the mood' ;)

@jasminewitch-blog  No worries, there’s no need to apologize.  Thank you for your interest and for following me.  I hope you enjoy the headcanons for everyone’s favorite mortician.

As for your question, the real answer is that I love almost all of the arcs of Kuroshitsuji because each arc had something about it that really sparked my interest, or had development for a character that I wanted to know more about or wanted to see grow, or made me consider deeper questions about humanity and life in general.  That being said, it was difficult to choose, but ultimately I think I’d have to choose The Green Witch arc.  I enjoyed it for multiple reasons, but the top reasons were: all of the servants were present and were able to showcase their abilities and strengths, rather than mainly being a comedy piece (which I am fine with, btw, but I like the contrasting duality between how they’re usually depicted and when they show why they deserve to be Phantomhive servants); Sebastian’s true nature and abilities were brought to the forefront again in spectacular fashion (whether it’s confusion at his tears or when he begins to act on his right to O!Ciel’s soul when it appears he’s retracting on his revenge or when he burns down the lab and we get to see his reveling in being able to flex his demonic powers-I’d be lying if I said that the last one doesn’t make me a little weak in the knees); and that with the addition of Sieglinde to the story, we finally have a female character who is O!Ciel’s equal in both intellect and determination and I really like their dynamic and I’m always for strong female characters in stories, no matter their age.

 Now as for your request, you’ll find it underneath the “Keep Reading” line.  I wanted to be safe and hide it somewhat since some of them are NSFW. (That is, if it shows up this time.  I triple checked that I had added it to the Vincent request, but it disappeared into the void when I posted it...oh well)

Undertaker/Fem!Reader

The circumstances under which you met Undertaker were not ideal.  You had been born into poverty on the East End and it was by some cruel miracle that you had survived until adulthood.  Your days were riddled with anxiety over basic necessities- where your next meal would come from or how you were going to keep warm in the winter.  It was difficult given there were three mouths to keep fed in your household.  So you did what you could to help provide for your parents and yourself, scraping by on thin soups and coin you earned from performing odd jobs here and there for those of the self made middle class who weren’t pretentious enough to let your background overshadow your skills with a needle.  It had been a bittersweet relief when the fever took your parents.  You had loved them, of course, but you couldn’t ignore the inherent practical advantage to having two less bellies to fill, two less aged ones to care for.  However, that relief was short lived when the realization struck you...you now had no home, no protection, and no food.  If you didn’t act quickly, you would be dead within a week or worse.  That was how you had stumbled upon the Undertaker’s shoppe.  You had been searching about for any odd job you could perform, any seamstress who might take pity on your plight and take you on for a day or two in exchange for a warm meal and a corner in their back storage room where you could rest your weary bones, when you heard the pleasant sound of humming coming from down the alley.  Curious, you slipped in between the two buildings and followed the humming to where the back door to the Undertaker’s shoppe, which was propped open to let in the warm summer breeze.  You cautiously glanced around the corner of the to see the back of a tall, robe clad man as he stood by a table where he appeared to be tending to someone’s body.  You were about to continue on your way when, as the man stepped out of the room, having been called by the sound of a bell that had chimed from somewhere inside the building, you spotted a heavily jeweled necklace.  Your eyes grew wide as the sun glinted off the precious jewelry.  That would get you enough money to eat for a week and provide a dry, warm bed for you to sleep in.  So, without a second thought, you rushed into the room, snatching the necklace and fleeing down the alleyway before the man could return.  This went on for two months.  Every couple of weeks, you would stop by the Undertaker’s shoppe and swipe something of value from the room.  They were corpses, anyway.  Why did they need such embellishments?  All it took was one time.  One time when you were too confident, too desperate to refuse the large ruby broach that sat on the table, almost begging for you to take it.  As your fingers wrapped around the cold stone, a firm hand gripped your shoulder, and that was it...you had been caught.  You begged the man not to take you to the police, that you were sorry but that you had no other choice.  Before you could stop yourself, your life story came rushing from your lips until, with cheeks wet with tears, you finished your explanation.  It was after a few minutes of consideration that the man told you he had a proposition for you.  Your stomach sank, fearing the worst, when he explained that his work kept him far busier than he would have liked, given he had a special venture he had recently taken on, and could use the help of someone who had needlework skills.  So, he offered his silence and a room in the living area above his shop, in exchange for your skills and your complete silence regarding anything you saw whilst working for him.  Not having many alternatives, you hesitantly accepted, silently wondering how you could have gotten yourself into such a mess.  With that, he led you upstairs to a small room that was to serve as your quarters, excusing himself to retrieve some sheets and blankets for the currently bare bed.  As he made to leave, you called out to him, giving him a heartfelt thanks before asking him what his name was.  At your question, a knowing smile spread his lips, answering you could simply call him Undertaker.

As with many things with your relationship with Undertaker, the confession of his feelings was sudden and fairly unexpected.  It had only taken a few short weeks for you to realize that you felt something for him and six months to know that those feelings were true.  He was odd, both as an employer and a person.  You would often catch him mumbling things about balances of chemicals and temperature and the like before disappearing to the cellar for hours on end-a cellar you were forbidden from entering.  He would often answer your questions with cryptic sayings, which would leave you more boggled than when you had first asked the question.  And he seemed to enjoy his work...a little too much, given that he dealt with death every day.  But you soon accepted his quirks as part of his eccentric personality and found yourself comfortably settling into life with him.  In all your time with him, he had never done or said anything untoward, never asked for you to repay him with sexual favors, something you had continued to fear would occur even a month into your employment.  In fact, he had never so much as touched you and, though you found the desire for him to do so growing with every day you continued your lives together, you appreciated his respect of your person.  Undertaker had not given much indication as to his feelings towards you, both romantic or platonic. Just a phrase here or there that would rekindle the spark of hope within you that maybe, just maybe there might be a whisper of a chance he would return your feelings.  However, almost a year into your employment, not a word of true confirmation had been spoken and that hope eventually died.  As despondent you had been at the realization, you took comfort in the fact you had a roof over your head, a warm bed, a full belly, and protection from a man who didn’t take advantage of your situation.  That was infinitely better than the alternatives of starvation or having to sell your body you were faced with but a year ago.  So to say you were caught off guard when Undertaker finally confessed his feelings for you was quite the understatement, especially given the circumstances under which it happened.  A customer had come in, demanding to speak to Undertaker directly.  He seemed to be one of the more unsavory clients from the Underworld who would occasionally visit, either for information or either needing to use his trade.  Undertaker had been working in the cellar all afternoon, so when the client continued to insist on speaking to him immediately, you found yourself at the top of the cellar stairs, calling down for him.  After several tries, he gave no acknowledgement of having heard you and, despite your better judgement, you began descending the dark staircase.  With each step the air became thicker, laden with chemicals to the point that by the time you had reached the halfway point, you had to cover your nose and mouth to stop your coughing.  That was when he cornered you against the wall, his voice low and threatening as he asked why you were there.  You stammered as you explained the situation, to which he sighed and ordered you back upstairs.  Shaken by his behavior, you sprinted back upstairs to the shoppe, quickly mumbling to the client that Undertaker would be with him presently before hiding yourself in the mortuary for the rest of the time the shoppe was open.  After your work was finished, you did all you could to avoid him until you had safely, and uncommonly early, retired to your room for the night.  Awhile later, a knock came to your door, Undertaker’s weary voice requesting that you let him in.  Not wanting to anger him further, you obeyed his wishes, cautiously coming to sit beside him on your bed.  After a minute or two of tense silence, he apologized for his actions and explained that the reason why he had forbade you from entering the cellar was because of the special work-dangerous work he was doing down there.  He looked down, thumb rubbing over one of the mourning lockets that was always on his person, as he continued saying he reacted so strongly earlier because you reminded him of someone he used to be close with, someone he had loved.  He pressed on, silver locks still covering his face, as he confessed that he had, in fact, come to love you as well and he never wanted to see you harmed by the dangerous things held within the cellar.

Even after having confessed his feelings for you, things did not progress quickly between the two of you, at least not physically.  Undertaker would touch you now, oh god, how he loved to touch you.  Every moment the two of you worked together, his hand would be somewhere on your person-your hand, your arm, your shoulder, your back.  He seemed to take comfort in finally allowing himself to ground his being in your presence.  On occasion, you would even kiss.  But his actions never moved beyond the realm of loving tenderness...and you had reached your limit.  However, you had resolved to extend him the same courtesy he had shown towards your person and never forced the issue.  But, you realized as you stared up at your bedroom ceiling, chest heaving as your body relaxed in the wake of your climax, you didn’t know how much longer you could last without his hands being the ones to work you over the edge.  It was after the accident that things changed.  You had been unintentionally careless with a bottle of embalming chemicals and it broke, slicing and burning your hands in the process.  Lady Dalles said that, thankfully, the damage would not be permanent, but it would take some time to fully heal and regain the function of your hands.  So, to spare you from having to overtax your hands, Undertaker began assisting you with daily tasks, including dressing.  A few weeks after the accident, he had joined you as he would in the evenings to help you out of your day things and into your nightwear.  In those weeks, your daily dressing and undressing began to become increasingly tense, each day he would take a little longer, his touch lingering on your skin a few breaths more, and you found yourself wishing you could see his damn eyes so you could know what he was thinking.  One of those nights, your ritual continued as always. Except there was something in the stiffness of his stance, the faltering of his warm breath which fanned over the back of your neck and shoulders, the intense focus he seemed to be giving your reflection as your breasts swelled within the confines of your corset with every breath you took that told you that tonight would be different.  A gasp escaped your lips as his fingers ghosted across your shoulders and trailed up the sensitive skin of your neck.  Your heart thrummed with eager expectation as you watched his reflection as he leaned against you, his hands coming to grip your hips as he lowered his lips to the curve of your neck, whispering against your skin that he was sorry, but he couldn’t resist any longer before placing a searing kiss on your flesh.  Things quickly escalated, ending in the tangle of your sweat slick bodies lying together in mutual post coital bliss, the floor of your room littered with garments long forgotten.  It was a night of many firsts for you, but the part you came to treasure the most was the first view you had ever gotten of his enchanting, phosphoric eyes.

Undertaker’s love of physical touch is, if anything, amplified when you have sex.  He cannot get enough of the feel of your soft skin beneath his fingers, his lips and he is vocal in reminding you of that.  That being the case, one of his favorite things to do for foreplay is for you to restrain his hands in some way, depriving him of being able to touch you while you in turn explore his body with the same care and attention he would show yours.  You work him up into a dizzying state of anticipation and longing until he can no longer bear it, easily escaping or breaking his bonds, no matter their construct, before eagerly grabbing hold of you, driving you wild with the same skill you had executed on him.  He appreciates your vocal nature as well, having an undiscovered praise kink.  There’s nothing that will make him come faster than your moans of pleasure as you’re in the throes of your orgasm, screaming his name, praises of how good he makes you feel falling from your lips like a mantra.

You find Undertaker’s ineptitude when it comes to knowing what to do with you when you’re sick as endearing as it is frustrating.  When you asked him about it one time, he shrugged his shoulders and explained he hadn’t worried about such things in some time and, given he now worked exclusively with the dead, he had lost whatever knowledge he had gained about treating the infirmities of the living.  So, whenever you become ill, you have to be direct in communicating what you need.  However, once he has instruction, he is more than willing to provide you with what you asked.  His tries, but his bedside manner just isn’t the best.

Undertaker isn’t often in the mood for sex, which he explained has nothing to do with his desire for you, but rather his body’s condition doesn’t allow for frequent sex.  At first you hadn’t believed such an odd explanation, fearing he had found something about you that displeased him, but just hadn’t worked up the courage to tell you about it.  However, there was once when you had managed to fuck two days in a row and after the second time, he had quickly fallen asleep and remained in a slumbering state...for three days straight.  You had begun to worry, frequently coming up to check and make sure he was still breathing.  Fortunately, the third day he awoke, rather disoriented and ravenously hungry.  It had taken the rest of that day to nurture him back into his normal self and it was then that you realized he had, in fact, been telling you the truth.  So when he is in the mood, he likes to draw it out as much as possible.  The whole day will be spent with him touching and kissing places that he knows will work you up, whispering the things he’d love to do to you if you weren’t working, but never proceeding beyond teasing until you’ve closed the shoppe for the day.  If he’s feeling particularly adventurous, he will disappear underneath your skirts while you’re still working in the shoppe and will tease you with his tongue until you almost climax, but will stop just before you do, giving your cheek a quick kiss before whispering in your ear that good things come to those who wait.

I hope you enjoyed those headcanons.  My apologies for some of them being pretty lengthy, but I wanted to give some context to some of them and I got a little carried away, lol.  But thank you again for your support and for following me.  I appreciate it so much!

Recap post: why Undertaker may not be the mastermind behind the blue sect

A/N: this is just a theory, please let me know if you think I forgot something or if there is a point that’s not clear. Very long post, heavy with spoilers.

First of all, I think we can all agree that, whoever the mastermind is, there isn’t any doubt that they are a supernatural character...

...And narratively speaking, after the Campania and Weston arcs, it’s indeed logical for both the readers and the characters to initially assume that the most likely suspect when the dead is brought back to life (here: real!Ciel aka Lord Sirius, as well as maybe the other Lords) is UT himself.

However, are we really sure at this point that Yana will go for the same ploy for the third time? Well, obviously this theory is here to propose that Yana won’t play the predictable card after such a complex and long arc. :) Onto the hints:

1) A different motus operandi...

...Which for now creates a plot hole if UT is the mastermind, because what we were shown of the blue sect’s method (= blood transfusions + ???) doesn’t fit with UT’s previous technique to bring back the dead during the Campania (= editing cinematic records with fake memories) and Weston (= editing CRs with “episodes” aka yearning for the future) arcs.

One argument would be to say that he changed his method of editing cinematic records to base his project on blood transfusions (+ something else) instead after Weston, but...

...He seemed to find Ryan’s attempt of using science to bring back the dead laughable during the Campania arc, so for now it’s hard to think he would have ended up using science as well. 

Another argument I’ve seen would be to say that the BDs we saw during the Campania/Weston arcs were from old experiments and that he actually changed his method a while back, but as brilliantly put by @thedarkestcrow [x]:

If he had known all along how to make a perfect Bizarre Doll, why did he wait so long? And why would he risk being found out and risk that the twin (if he really hid him) would be found by creating the failed Bizarre Dolls? No one suspected Undertaker of anything until the Campania arc so even if he did indeed hide the twin it may have been much easier if he had hidden his true identity and his experiments, too.

Besides, as pointed out by @hitsugikuro​, assuming that Othello and UT do know each other (”50 years ago”)...

...it’s possible that Othello was speaking of UT in ch119 when he mentioned someone (a deserting Shinigami?) who wasn’t “very knowledgeable in this [science] field”, thus reminding us possibly once more of UT’s opinion about bringing back the dead through science and crossing him out of the suspect list.

Secondly, there is also the fact that the blue sect has been existing for at least a year and a half, because we know that Bravat was regularly transfusing old Lords from the Parliament until recently...

...which indicates a switch in the sect’s purpose (researching about blood transfusion and helping the old Lords => bringing back the “star Lords”) from the moment Bravat opened the Sphere Music Hall and used the ex-prefects to attract the masses & start massive blood collects during Summer 1889.

Of course, UT could have been a part of them but, again, he doesn’t seem to favor science that much and, even when he was “a part of” the Aurora society, he was pretty much working alone on his bizarre doll project. 

Finally, there is a significant item to mention...

...because surely UT’s “treasure” has to be relevant and maybe even the primary reason he’s trying to bring back the dead. However, there is one interesting thing to notice: if we’re assuming that these lockets represent people UT was fond of, then Vincent and real!Ciel should be on this chain too and yet they’re not.

The explanation for this is rather simple thanks to ch105 though, at least where Vincent is concerned:

So maybe it was the same for the twin: UT didn’t think that his method could bring Vincent and the twin back as bizarre dolls (because the circumstances of their death damaged their bodies too much?), hence why he had no locket for either of them.

TL;DR if UT’s motus operandi in the Campania & Weston arcs is signficantly different from the mastermind’s motus operandi in this arc then it means...

2) Different “bizarre dolls”...

This part is assuming that Seb indeed never lied and that he was summoned through real!Ciel's sacrifice (after a stab in the heart) and eating his soul, meaning that real!Ciel died at 10 years old and yet...

He definitely looks as if he never died and is going to turn 14 (?), like our!Ciel. 

Again, the difference in methods is probably the reason real!Ciel looks/acts so normal (compared to even Agares, UT’s last masterpiece) and all grown up, when it shouldn’t be possible since there aren’t many doubts that he died and Seb ate his soul, 4 years ago (unless Seb was somehow fooled?). 

Secondly, aside from real!Ciel, we probably only saw Lord Polaris so far (since Polaris is Sirius’ butler, real!Ciel is Lord Sirius and Agni’s killer used knives like Polaris)...

...and Agni, who was a very strong human himself, commented on his killer being unusually strong. So could Polaris’ abnormal strength be the result of these blood transfusions or, more generally, of how the blue sect brings the dead back? 

In the first place, only demons should naturally and abnormally be stronger than humans in Kuro!Verse (Shinigamis aren’t). However we know that, just like science is apparently currently used to bring the dead back, it was also used before in the story to introduce abnormal strength for humans...

...when Ciel met Finny while on another (older) mission for the Queen in Germany. 

TL;DR if UT is not the mastermind but someone else is: what if real!Ciel and the other star Lords came back as some sort of perfect equivalent to UT’s original bizarre dolls, because different scientific methods were put together to achieve such a “perfect” result? 

Of course, this only works if, instead of UT, the mastermind is...

3) ...Thus a different mastermind?

At this point, there is only one possibility amongst the characters we already know, because there is only one person who showed interest in UT’s bizarre dolls...

...when Ciel told her about it, in June 1889, after the Weston arc. Of course, Victoria most likely isn’t a supernatural being, so she was surely helped by her loyal John Brown who would do anything for her (remember that his eyes are always conveniently hidden => there is a good chance he could be supernatural).

The mastermind behind the sect being supernatural!Brown and following Victoria’s wishes works in regards to the whole timeline too:

Bravat’s blue sect was originally used to experiment about blood transfusion until summer 1889...

“if this method can be made to work, it will be a ‘miracle cure’ that can bring the mortally wounded back from the brink of death. I’ve heard that the army is actively conducting experiments to discover just what is necessary to make it a success” => Wolfram, ch114.

...until Victoria and Brown learnt about UT’s bizarre doll from Ciel himsef in June 1889.

Brown then started to experiment by himself, not knowing about UT’s own method, giving the “star Lords” to Bravat’s sect and switching its purpose to using blood transfusion (+???) in order to bring them back from death:

that’s why the Sphere music hall was apparently opened during Summer 1889 and why the massive blood collects only started then

+ knowing about the incident at Weston would also be how Brown tricked the ex prefects and had Bravat using them to attract the masses.

Secondly, Othello said that the technology used by the sect was very advanced (and proof of supernatural involvement)...

and as @hitsugikuro pointed out before, it does look similar to Sieglinde’s own "lab” given to her by Queen Victoria and we know that war against Germany is the reason Victoria was so looking forward to Sieglinde working for “England’s future”.

War against Germany is probably also the reason Ciel was sent two years ago in Germany to take care of those researchers who were experimenting about artificially enhanced strength, which is when he met and saved Finny, by the way. 

We don’t know what happened then, but maybe our!Ciel brought back the formula for this “abnormal strength” to the Queen, or maybe England developed their own, which might explain why Agni described his killer (Polaris) as abnormally strong, if this technique was used on the “star Lords” as well.

Finally...

there might be a political aspect to the plan with the blue sect, which is to say that Bravat might have also gotten rid of those lords from the Parliament (ch125) so that it would be more difficult for the Parliament to refuse Victoria’s plans for war. Remember...

...the Queen might not rule but...

...she has some loyal helpers.

TL;DR the whole point to keep in mind is that Victoria is getting ready for war: that’s why she wanted Sieglinde and her SuLIN, why she sent Ciel to destroy that German lab where Finny was experimented on, why she wants zombie war weapons through bringing back the dead and why she might have assassinated parlimentarians who stood in her way. 

The blue sect is simply here to get her what she wants through first mastering the blood transfusion technique (to lose less soldiers), and then a way to experiment about bringing the dead back (to eventually turn more of them into war weapons). 

4) real!Ciel vs our!Ciel

Or why Brown and Victoria would bring back the twin now, in order to antagonize the current Watchdog.  There again, there is a possibility for an answer, but first of all, let me insist on why this part for now also makes no sense if UT is the mastermind.

To this day, I do not think that real!Ciel’s actions are particularly predictable to anyone (please check this post by @akumadeenglish​). Seeing the latest chapters before the flashback, it’s evident that he’s not exactly in his right mind and there are many possibilities as to why that is, but for now he’s definitely supposed to be antagonistic. 

Meanwhile, UT is literally one of the few characters who has no reason to wish harm on our!Ciel: it always was noticeable in the way he used to give him advice, to watch over him, to imply that he wouldn’t let Seb have his way with his soul, because of UT’s long attachment to the Phantomhive family.

And since UT probably feels/felt the same attachment towards the twin (and doesn’t favor him, by his own words), it doesn’t make a lot of sense to think that he was hoping for real!Ciel and our!Ciel to fight against each other, or for our!Ciel to be isolated from anyone but Sebastian (since the sect took Lizzie away and real!Ciel almost took Soma away).

Back to the Queen and Brown though, they’re the ones who actually have a few reasons to be crossed with our!Ciel, since:

After the curry arc, he more or less sheltered Agni (one of the culprits) despite his crimes 

During the circus arc, he burnt those children, which led to him lying to the Queen about his report

but the Queen found out and organized a murder party as a punishment (@ thanks Grey)

After the green witch arc, he made sure that Sieglinde wouldn’t give or produce for the Queen anything like the SuLIN gas

but the Queen and Brown weren’t fooled, which led to Brown comparing his efficiency to Vincent’s, who is dead.

So for all we know, the current arc might partially be the result of Victoria seeing through his lies about the SuLIN gas in ch108 and being fed up with him for not being a very obedient doggy. Thus why...

real!Ciel came back as an absolutely similar copy of the Queen’s current watchdog (same age (?), same height, no change of identity, same earrings), so that she would replace the bad doggy with a more obedient one (who might be dependent on those blood transfusions and thus more loyal to her), without having to explain what happened to the previous one since the twins are now exactly similar. 

And if somehow you think that it makes her heartless to treat someone who works so hard for her that way, well, maybe it’s time to consider the idea that she has something to do with happened to Vincent and Rachel (and maybe Claudia too, who knows...). xD

TL;DR UT would have no reason to create a feud amongst his beloved Phantomhive family, considering he’s always been more of an ally to them than anything else, which leads to the final part of the explanation...

5) UT in ch108 & ch120

Or, if this theory is accurate, the red herrings that Yana showed to make us think UT was initially behind it all for the third time, since UT was with the twin in these two chapters. However, first please consider the settings of both meetings:

it’s at night

UT is creeping around, as if he wants to be undetected.

Then onto what supposedly happened...

I’ll quote @thedarkestcrow​‘s words once again to explain (A+ writing <3):

Instead of being the mastermind of the sect and supporting it I could rather see him trying to prevent or delay the sect’s success. The one time we saw him he gave one of the Ciels (and it was probably the twin) some liquid and remember his words? (see above)

When he visited the twin/Sirius that night the twin’s condition seemed quite well. Afterwards, however, we saw him having these arms (see above).

So UT may have intentionally worsened the twin’s state. Not with the intention to kill him, of course, but he may have tried to delay his full awakening in order to get time to maybe solve this situation in order to help both twins, not just one.

An idea which would in turn explain why he was checking the twin’s wrist (as if looking for any needle mark, to assess what was going on, maybe?) ...

...as well as that single panel from ch120 that showed him as very affectionate.

Because remember what I said about UT’s “treasure”? If real!Ciel and Vincent didn’t have a locket, it might be because UT’s own method of bringing back the dead (through editing the cinematic records) didn’t make it possible for them to come back (too damaged bodies?). So seeing the twin “alive” again must have felt like a shock to UT who cares a lot about the P family (hence the affectionate gesture of ch120), even if he probably tampered with the twin’s “well being” anyway... 

because he wanted to stall for time

because he couldn’t bear the idea that the twin too was used as another of the Queen’s pawns (since he dislikes her a lot).

Brotp interaction between the two back in Undertaker's Shinigami days. Anything, up to your imagination. 

Sebastian and Ciel, shipping not intended. Preferrably canonverse. Sebastian thinking of how everyone else sees him as deeply caring for Ciel's wellbeing, which he does with only one intent in mind - seasoning Ciel's soul to add to the 'delicacy' level he desires. Ciel knows this, so even despite living together for three years, he knows Sebastian's 'worrying' and 'affection' are all feints. However, maybe after a particularly bad nightmare, or after Sebastian doing something kind out of apparently no reason, Ciel seems to genuinely be grateful. What are Sebastian's thoughts on this? Maybe something dark and manipulating, kind of in the league of his words in the Green Witch arc when he's burning the laboratory? Or the other way around? Your choice. What I meant with no shipping is because I would prefer if this 'affection' I mentioned wouldn't be taken by you as romantic.

Wolfram is so damn excited aaaaaaah SWEET BOY

For the longest time after SIEGLINDE asked you and WOLFRAM when you were going to have a baby, you didn’t know what to say.

Now, following a visit to the doctor, you finally do.

Although you can’t be perfectly sure when you conceived, the physician thinks you’re far along enough that your biggest guess is that it was when you and Wolfram made love for the first time. When Sieglinde asked, the two of you had a talk about it, deciding that you’d both be glad if it happened. So you’ve had sex a few more times since then, but… you think it was that first time that did it.

You’ve not quite known how to tell either of them the news yet. The last few days everyone, including you, has just thought you haven’t been feeling well, just tired. Even through dinner, with both of them asking how you’re doing, you don’t know exactly how to phrase it.

Then, after dinner while you work on mending some of everyone’s clothes, Wolfram comes over to set Sieglinde next to you, almost certainly at her request. She presses into you and smiles, putting her arms around your middle. “Mutti, Wolfram says I have to go to bed soon, but I’m not tired. You will tell me a story so I get sleepy, please?”

“Oh, that would make you sleepy?” you giggle as you pull her into your lap. “Of course, sweetheart. I’ll make one up just for you, let’s see…”

You think for a moment, then an idea pops into your head. “Ah, alright, well. Once upon a time, there was a young princess who lived in a forest, and her name was Sieglinde.”

Your little girl gives you a noise somewhere between a giggle and a scoff. “Is this story about us?”

“Hmm, maybe,” you tease. “It’s a good one, though, I promise. Now, Princess Sieglinde was a very smart, beautiful girl. But, she was unable to walk, so she was trapped in the forest, because there were… a lot of wolves out there among the trees who would attack other living things. And the woods were too thick… even if she could walk, it would have been a long and dangerous journey. So she stayed in her castle, away from the outside world, making inventions and reading. However, she did have one loyal companion by her side ― her loving, attentive father, Wolfram.”

From the corner of your eye, you see Wolfram straighten up in pride; the sight makes you smile. “He took good care of her, and even though they were stuck in the forest, they found some happiness day by day.”

A hand combs gingerly through her hair as she nestles in against you. “But one day… a group of travelers from another land were coming through the forest, and they stumbled upon the castle, where they were given a place to stay. Several of the travelers were inhumanly strong, so after learning that Princess Sieglinde and her father were trapped, they offered to help the two out of the woods.”

Wolfram decides to sit down on your other side, setting a candle in its holder on the table beside him. “Some of the travelers was know-it-alls.”

You snort and lean to give him a kiss. “… Yes, but Wolfram got over it.”

“Pfui! If you say so.”

“Well, I’m the one telling the story, aren’t I?” Things have to be shifted a bit, with you leaning toward him… it’s nice, though. Almost like one big cuddle. “Where was I? Ah… so, they all set out. True to their word, the travelers brought Princess Sieglinde and her father to safety on the other side of the forest. With perhaps a few scrapes here and there, they made it in one piece. Grateful to the travelers and unsure of where to go now that they’d found freedom, Princess Sieglinde and Wolfram followed the travelers back to their homeland.”

Sieglinde blinks a few times, looking as if she’s starting to get tired. “What happened after that? Surely it’s not end there?”

You nod. “You’re right, it doesn’t end there. After settling down, Wolfram fell in love with a woman.”

“(Name), right?” Sieglinde brings her legs up onto the sofa, tucking them under her. “And she married Wolfram and decided to be Princess Sieglinde’s mum?”

You can’t help a laugh from escaping as you give her a squeeze. “You haven’t heard this story before, have you? I thought I made it up just now! Haha… that’s right, though. (Name) married Wolfram and decided to be Princess Sieglinde’s mum. And one day, Princess Sieglinde asked for a little sister. So, (Name) made a wish on a star…”

Your eyes flicker up to Wolfram. Although he’s listening to the story just like Sieglinde is, his eyebrow is raised at you. “A wish on a star?”

Your next words come out in a whisper. “… And it came true.”

Almost immediately, Wolfram’s eyes widen. You can see every single thing he’s feeling reflected in them; joy, fear, relief, he doesn’t seem to know how to feel. For so much of his life he’s lived only feeling one thing or another, with things being simple, and now he’s feeling so many different things at once. When he speaks, his voice trembles like its feet are on the edge of a crumbling precipice. “It came true?”

“It did,” you smile, and you’re… almost prepared for his reaction, but not fully.

Of course, given that his reaction is to hug you tightly and whoop, “Hurra! Hurra! Hurrahurrahurrahurra―!”, it’s a bit hard to anticipate. He buries his face in your neck, laughing, suddenly elated in a way you’ve never seen him express before.

Even when he pulls his face back up, he’s beaming. Though he looks a bit embarrassed about the outburst, he comes in to kiss you, with both of his hands moving to cup your face. “This is… wonderful. So ― so you’re… schwanger?” Oh, dear, that’s so precious… he can’t bring himself to say the word in English. You think he might burst if he did. “Ah, Gott…”

“Schwanger!” Sieglinde chirps, instantly awake. “So, you approved my request! I’m going to have a little sister!! Hurraaaaaaaa!!!”

With that, she practically launches herself into your lap, pressing her head and hand against your stomach. “My little sister is in here! Can she hear me yet? I don’t care if she can’t… I want her to know she’s the best little sister in the whole big world!”

“Sieglinde…!” Wolfram’s still laughing, albeit a bit quieter. “You need to go to bed―”

She shakes her head, staring up at him with big eyes. “Vati!! You can’t expect me to sleep now!”

“You can’t argue with that,” you hum as you nestle in against him. “It’s exciting news.”

Well, at least she grins at you for being on her side. “Mutti, can I give my little sister her name? Pleaaaaase?”

“If you go to bed right now,” is the dry answer she gets, before you even have a chance to open your mouth.

Even though Sieglinde probably isn’t going to be heading to sleep anytime soon, you’re glad about the fact that you told both of them at last. Even though your baby isn’t very big yet, you still put your hand over Sieglinde’s on your stomach.

Everything is going to change. It’s going to be overwhelming. And you can only speak for yourself, but…

You feel like things are, finally, exactly where they’re supposed to be. For all of you.

I LOVE THEIR LITTLE FAMILY SO MUCH <3

Because she can’t walk unassisted and prefers not to use her ‘spider walker’ at night, Wolfram checks on Sieglinde periodically throughout the evening after she falls asleep. Like most children, (particularly traumatized children like her), she may occasionally have nightmares. If she does, one of two things will happen. Either Wolfram will lie down in her bed with her and you, after waking up to find him gone, will come join them… or he’ll carry her into your bed, simply stating, “Our little girl had a bad dream,” and she’ll cuddle up there with you both for the night. Either way it always makes her feel safe and loved.

Given how, er… slow Wolfram can be in preparing meals, especially in the morning, another pair of hands helping Sieglinde get ready ― get dressed, wash her face, etc. ― is appreciated. She loves it when you help her pick out clothing, mainly because you and Wolfram let her wear whatever she likes as long as she’s dressed presentably. She can even wear trousers if she wants to! Plus, you always know what looks good on her. And the time you spend doing her hair before breakfast is wonderful for bonding.

The two of you try quite hard to homeschool her, but it’s not easy to get her interested in anything which isn’t science. Or sometimes math. Thankfully, she’s good at English and grammar because of you, and she’s somewhat okay with history. She just dreads doing assignments where she can’t choose the topic. Analyzing books and mulling over fractions bore her to tears. It’s up to you to make the things she doesn’t enjoy fun for her, so she gets all the education and enrichment she needs. Of course, Wolfram tries to help where he can; he’s learned a few tricks by now!

Family outings?? Well, sort of. You go on outings to talk to the Queen, and to maybe do some business with Ciel. Oh, and Sieglinde has rather made friends with Lizzie, so she stops over there quite a bit as well. Sometimes she uses her spider walker, sometimes you or Wolfram will carry her around. The biggest problem with outings like this is that she gets self-conscious around most people, because, honestly, most people see her as ‘that weird little German girl with mechanical spider legs’. Of course, you and Wolfram have none of anyone who tries to bully or intimidate her. Not only that, there’s no question you indulge her by taking her into sweets shops and letting her just act like a child!

You’re all living in Ciel’s townhouse, so… sometimes Agni and Soma babysit. She adores them, and this way you and Wolfram can have a breather. Despite the fact that you love her very much, both of you could use a break now and again. Even better, usually you return to find Soma snoring on the couch while Sieglinde is perched on his back, fiddling with a light bulb and trying to do… something… with it… and Agni is trying to gently convince her that it’s time for bed. They try their best, but, ah… you and Wolfram will take back over now.

Are your parents/siblings still alive and you’re on good terms with them? Congratulations, Sieglinde now has grandparents and/or aunts/uncles!! And, well, also Wolfram has… new parents and siblings. Because of course they absolutely love him. If his parents were ever in his life at all, he doesn’t remember them, and the closest he had to siblings were brothers-in-arms who he wasn’t that bonded with; he’s awkward about it, but he enjoys having parental and sibling figures of his own given that he lacked them growing up. And for Sieglinde to have more family, people who can call her their granddaughter or niece? It’s just wonderful.

One day, Sieglinde will walk up to you and say, “I’ve decided I am ready for a little sister. When will you and Wolfram have a baby?” And you better hope you’re not drinking anything when it happens, because that’s an immediate choking-on-your-beverage moment. She’s just so blunt about it ― give her a baby sister! How many business days will that request take to be processed???

John Brown as the mastermind behind the Blue Sect and the recent sad events?

Disclaimer: Spoilers and long post. As such, this theory will initially be a little chronological to try and make the explanation simpler. If any point is unclear, feel free to ask @thedarkestcrow or me about it as it is something we discussed together. :)

First of all, here’s what we know about the current arc (ch127 happens mid-November 1889):

Bravat (who’s most likely human) knew from the beginning that Ciel is the Watchdog (”Earl Phantomhive”), that Seb is a demon, that Lizzie is Ciel’s fiancée and that the Starlight Four committed crimes at Weston.

Bravat’s sect is at least one and a half year/two years old (ch125). However, seeing as there was no hint of massive blood collects and death before August/September 1889, we’ll assume for this theory that the 4 star lords were put in Bravat’s care at some point during Summer 1889, which is when Bravat started using the S4 to promote the Sphere music hall in order to collect as much blood as possible.

Othello said that, considering the anormal progress of the sect’s technology, a supernatural being is most likely behind it (ch119/ch125). This supernatural mastermind is very probably the reason Bravat knew about Sebastian being a demon (and about Lizzie and Ciel). 

While the reason tying Lizzie to the sect is still unclear, we’re going to assume for this theory that Bravat’s mention of her to Ciel (ch123) might mean that she’s seen as a possible hostage to use against him. 

Lastly, about the 2CT: it seems like it’s almost confirmed.

Lord Sirius being Ciel’s twin (aka Real!Ciel, a “bizarre doll”) is a popular theory

Agni’s reaction when he found the burnt picture of Ciel’s family (ch126) was quite telling that something was unexpected about this picture.

I hope all of this makes sense for you guys! Onto the theory about John Brown...

1) Going back in time...

...To December 1885, Vincent is killed and his sons are bought by a satanic cult that intends on using them as sacrifices in order to summon a demon. In January 1886, Real!Ciel is sacrificed on the altar and our!Ciel manages to summon Sebastian, selling his soul to him in order to survive and get revenge. He then becomes the new Queen’s Watchdog in March 1886.

Fastforwarding a bit, ch125 told us that the old Lords whom Bravat used to transfuse regularly should have died more than one and a half year ago, meaning that Bravat’s sect has been at least existing ever since Winter 1887/Spring 1888.

A possible link to Ryan’s Aurora Society or the mysterious Osiris company mentioned during the Campania arc is possible but we don’t have any hint vouching for it yet.

Fastforwarding again, it’s February 1889 and the Circus arc happens, resulting in a messy ending, with Ciel lying to the Queen about his report for this case, not knowing that the Double Charles and John Brown (as well as the Undertaker) witnessed what he truly did.

As a result, Queen Victoria organizes a grand punishment in March 1889, starring Charles Grey killing an important German lord and trying to have Ciel take the fall for the murder in front of witnesses. This ends rather well though, as Ciel manages to trick Grey and blame someone else for the murder.

In April 1889, it’s the Campania arc, where the Undertaker introduces for the first time his Bizarre Doll project, indirectly mass-murdering many people seemingly without a care in the world. He manages to run away, leaving his chain of lockets to Ciel and with Sebastian concluding the arc on...

They obviously did run into him again though, in June 1889, when they end up facing ameliorated BDs, because of several murders committed by 4 students (the Starlight 4).  At the end of this arc, Ciel makes his report to Queen Victoria, telling her about the S4′s crimes but also about the Undertaker’s Bizarre Dolls. Strangely enough though, she doesn’t find Ciel’s explanation to be senseless and once he left, this discussion about BDs happens between her and John Brown:

So, Queen Victoria seems to find the idea of having BDs as “allies” to be very fancy. And, as the following arc happening in Germany in August 1889 will show, it seems that Queen Victoria finds that idea to be oh! so very interesting because she’s actually preparing for a war against Germany, which is also why she asks Ciel to bring Sieglinde and her latest deadly invention (the SULIN gas) back to England, so that Sieglinde can invent new war weapons that the Queen will then use against Germany.   

At least that was how the clever plan getting Victoria new deadly war weapons was supposed to go. 

Because two slight problems arose:

the Undertaker unfortunately doesn’t happen to be Victoria’s greatest fan (most likely because she’s the reason Vincent, and maybe Claudia Phantomhive, ended up dead thanks to the Watchdog duty), so trying to make friends with UT to get the BDs probably wouldn’t work at all.

Ciel unfortunately saw through Victoria’s plan for Sieglinde and the SULIN and he tasked Sebastian with getting rid of the very deadly gas in ch108, double crossing “his master” by doing so.

Unfortunately though, Ciel’s plan kind of backfired at him, since Queen Victoria and John Brown made it rather obvious in ch108 (late August 1889) that they saw through his little game, which means that it’s the second mistake (or act of defiance) that Ciel made as the Watchdog in less than a year, causing Brown/King Albert to...

...compare him to his very murdered father. 

@thedarkestcrow​ and I (and other readers of course) took this as a rather serious threat against Ciel (something he probably realized as well), perfectly fitting with the theory that the Queen and John Brown might have something to do with the murders of Vincent and Rachel, for a reason that’s still unknown. [x] [x]

In any case, while Victoria saw through Ciel’s little game with the SULIN quite obviously, she doesn’t appear to have punished him (yet?) and anyway, ch114 told us that she was actually visiting Sieglinde often, probably because she hasn’t given up on Sieglinde creating something useful for her war. 

As for her desire to get allies in the form of Bizarre Dolls, if the one who initially had the idea (the Undertaker) can’t be found and convinced to help her, maybe she could ask another supernatural being to make them for her?

One she already knows; one she trusts because he comforts her when she’s sad and missing her husband; one who knows about her war plans and who promised to protect her; one who traveled in record time from England to Germany without riding his horse and without triggering the traps in the forest; one whose eyes are always hidden, hinting that maybe they would give away his true nature should they be seen...

...Or maybe John Brown is making it all a surprise in this arc because he’s very dedicated to her...?

2) John Brown (and Queen Victoria?) as the mastermind behind this arc

Starting from here, this is all hypothetical, but maybe I should say now that @thedarkestcrow​ and I started considering that the supernatural mastermind Othello hinted at had to be someone who was not the Undertaker ever since Ciel became targeted in the recent events. For now, it’s unclear whether Soma really was the target of the attack of ch126/127 or if Ciel was, but, even if the target was Soma, it most likely inherently had to do with Ciel. 

So, considering the Undertaker’s attachment to the P family, we tend to agree with Sebastian when he once said that the Undertaker “doesn’t seem to want to cause [Ciel] harm”. Besides, so far, the Undertaker’s BD project mostly was based on alterations of cinematic records, so the fact that the 4 Lords (if they’re indeed supposed to be BDs) seemed to be dependent of blood always made us wonder why he’d change his methods now (especially after BD!Algares who was almost perfect). 

However, John Brown if he’s the mastermind trying to “make things go according to her majesty’s wishes” (no matter what kind of supernatural being he is), wouldn’t know how UT managed to create his BDs, so maybe that’s why the 4 Lords seem to be different, needing blood when UT’s dolls didn’t. 

John Brown could also be behind Bravat’s technology ever since the old Lords started to be transfused at least two years ago, simply because Victoria is preparing for war and as Wolfram put it in ch114...

So after researching about blood transfusion, Brown used these important old Lords to experiment his blood transfusion technique by the intermediary of Bravat’s sect, thanks to the technology he developed as a supernatural being (that device that Othello was impressed with in ch125). 

Brown as Victoria’s footman and as the supernatural mastermind behind Bravat would also be aware of:

Ciel being the watchdog

Seb being a demon

Lizzie being Ciel’s fiancée

the S4 having committed crimes and making for useful pawns.

Finally, if we’re saying that the blue sect is a cover for Brown researching how to make bizarre doll-like beings that will be used as war weapons, I know it does sound strange (if she is aware of what he is doing) that Queen Victoria deliberately put Ciel on Bravat’s trail. 

So, this part is really a wild idea but what if it all was a part of her plan, because no one can know what she and John Brown tried to create using the Sphere music hall as a cover? After all, imagine the scandal if people were to learn that the Queen is indirectly responsible for bleeding to death a part of London, because she’s involved with senseless experiments! 

Which is why she asked Ciel to go investigate the Sphere music hall...

...even giving him the list of these old Lords that were being transfused by Bravat over the last two years...

...maybe hoping that Bravat purposedly endangering Lizzie by making her join the sect at the same time would be a good way for him to focus on settling this case with as much efficiency as possible?

Settling the case might not be what she’s expecting of him at all... Rather she wants him to get rid of Bravat and his sect, Lizzie used “as a hostage” being what should motivate Ciel to do anything to eliminate the ones who endangered her (and obviously Bravat wouldn’t know that he’s expandable). And it’s not such a crazy bet when we see how Ciel solved most of the other cases given to him.

Of course, if John Brown has his own agenda (or if the Queen doesn’t know that he might be supernatural), it’s possible that the Queen might not have known that Brown was trying to create the “bizarre dolls” that they talked about back in ch84, hence why she put Ciel on the case. That being said, considering how she didn’t seem surprised that things as strange as Bizarre Dolls could exist back in ch84, if Brown is supernatural then she might be aware of it.

3) About the events of ch126/127

A really hypothetical part yet again, just to point out that...

...Whoever Agni’s killer is, he’s stronger than a normal human because Agni himself was a very good fighter and he almost couldn’t fight back. So, while we’re not 100% sure of who this man is yet (Lord Polaris? maybe John Brown himself?) and same for the gunman, it would make sense to think that they’re linked to the Sphere music hall.

If the two men who attacked Soma and Agni are Lord Polaris and Lord Sirius then, if they’re really supposed to be equivalents of UT’s BDs, maybe the fact they need a lot blood could also have to do with a possible enhancement of their physical capacities. That would explain the strength of Agni’s killer.

Take Finny for example. Do you remember where Finny is from? A German research institute that the Queen had Ciel raid, for the same reason she sent him to Sieglinde’s village. So if Germany had found a way to enhance physical capacities, it’s not impossible for England to have found it as well, especially since it would be very useful for war. 

In any case, the fact that Ciel’s house was targeted might have been for a simple reason: maybe it was a way to experiment if the “dolls” (Lord Polaris and Lord Sirius in that case) were following orders correctly as well as how they would manage against a strong fighter like Agni (or maybe even Sebastian). As for why choosing Ciel’s house as the target of the experimental attack... well, maybe this (hurting Soma and killing Agni) is Ciel’s punishment for taking the SULIN away from the Queen... Unless it’s an initiative by Bravat of course, because he’s tired of Ciel trying to stop him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Is it because his revenge would be accomplished quicker and he'd have no time to develop? Hey Anon! Ah, I’m sorry that it was confusing, especially since I was mainly speaking about UT’s and Lizzie’s characters instead of focusing on Ciel’s, but I’ll try to explain again in a better way :)

Simply considering the basis of Ciel’s characterization, the two characters he has the most important dynamics with are Sebastian and Lizzie:

For Seb, no big problem, he does things by the rules so that the contract still holds no matter what and he probably won’t ever betray Ciel. After 4 years they have found a good balance, even if as a demon, all Seb is interested in is Ciel’s soul (even though it’s fun to play the butler game alongside Ciel).

It’s a rough summary since the last arc introduced possible complications to their duo, but the current arc doesn’t really focus on this so I’ll leave it at that. 

As for Lizzie… well the current arc complicated everything, now didn’t it? She remains important to him and she always had some sort of influence on his character, differently so from Sebastian since they can be considered as total opposites. That being said, before the current arc she would have done anything to make him happy and protect him and now… well, since she ran away, we don’t know how she feels anymore.

Until the current arc, the balance between Seb’s and Lizzie’s respective influence on Ciel had stayed the same since the very beginning of the series, but this arc changed it all when Lizzie initially disappeared and even ran away from Ciel and her family a second time (ch117).

So I think, considering all that I said above, that the dynamic between Lizzie and Ciel is one of the main focus of this arc. And so, all I was saying in the other post was that depending on Lizzie’s reasons to join the sect and to stay there all this time, it could mean different things when it comes to Ciel’s character development. 

In other words, a part of Ciel’s development that could be happening with this arc is linked to Lizzie’s character and why she ran away in the first place. In case you disagree though, just please remember how Ciel is growing restless with every chapter + how very angry he was when he realized that Bravat might be using Lizzie as a hostage. [x]

Anyway, now if we fastforward a bit and take the 2CT as the explanation for the current arc, the general consensus is that it means:

that Sirius = Ciel’s twin (aka Real!Ciel) as a BD thanks to UT

that Lizzie ran away and remained all this time at the sphere music hall because she was told about the 2CT (namely that our!Ciel wasn’t Real!Ciel and that Real!Ciel was not really dead anymore)

so she stayed for the twin

and she’s been looking depressed ever since (because she “can’t save Real!Ciel”, since the Ciel in ch113 would be Real!Ciel in this theory)

And so, when you consider the implications of what Lizzie’s decision means in the 2CT possibility for this arc, that’s why I mentioned that Ciel might not get a lot of “positive” development in case Lizzie really decided to side with his BD!twin.

To make this simple, from a theoretical point of view let’s say Sirius = the twin:

Lizzie chose Sirius aka the twin, which is why she doesn’t want to leave the Sphere music hall

Ciel is “???” about why Lizzie doesn’t want to leave Bravat’s side

Ciel finally finds out that Sirius = his twin and he is very probably horrified

Lizzie tells Ciel that she knows he isn’t Real!Ciel and that she wants to side with his twin (as it is how people who vouch for the 2CT explanation say things will go) which is why she stayed with Bravat so far

The balance Lizzie/Seb, when it comes to their influence on Ciel, is completely broken with Seb getting 100% of the space he used to share with Lizzie.

So if Lizzie doesn’t want to have anything to do with Ciel anymore, then I don’t have any idea about how the part of his character linked to Lizzie is supposed to keep on developing

However all the parts of his character linked to Seb will keep on developing

Thus Ciel’s development will be almost completely one sided and mostly linked to Seb, the contract and his revenge.

So Ciel’s development won’t be inexistent but it will mostly become one-sided and, in my opinion, minimalist because Ciel isn’t a 2D character. He is multi dimensional because he interacts with many different characters: Seb, Lizzie, the servants, Soma & Sieglinde, UT…. with Seb and Lizzie being the most significant. And that’s because there isn’t just Seb in his life that sometimes he can still do good deeds, even if he believes he’s a 100% despicable and selfish person. 

TL;DR if the 2CT is the explanation behind this arc, then according to its supporters it implies that Lizzie will probably side with his twin (their words, not mine) and so, in my opinion, this reduces greatly the possibility of Lizzie’s character triggering more positive development for Ciel’s character (again please remember how important Lizzie is to Ciel).

Thus if Lizzie gets out of the picture (because she decides to dedicate herself to the twin), then Ciel will be left with mainly Sebastian to significantly interact with, which means probably no questioning himself about all the decisions he took over the last 4 years (contract included), as an example amongst all the developments Lizzie’s character could possibly trigger. 

Of course, all of that is if Yana-sensei actually writes Lizzie as this shallow girl who chose a ten year old dead twin instead of her current fiancé, with whom she went through many different things over the last 4 years. It would be different if for example the twin were to be back but Lizzie refused to stay by his side in the end.

That’s why I was trying to explain in my other post which aspects of the 2CT as the current arc’s explanation seen by the readers didn’t please me and why, and Lizzie “staying in the sphere music hall because she chose the twin” in particular rubs me in the wrong way.
