$700 at the vet, thank goodness Denny is doing better now, but the poor little guy was vomiting and running a high fever. So, the vet had to do X-rays, a full blood panel, anti nausea injections as well as an IV for fluids and y’all it took me everything not to fall apart in the clinic. I was having flashbacks to Jäger’s final trip to the vet and it wasn’t pretty, I almost vomited from worry in the waiting room when they were examining him. I’m just so happy Denny is resting well and keeping his rice and chicken down. He’s also drinking normally now too but after all that I need a hug. He’s not panting heavily anymore either so I think he’ll be ok, I’m supposed to keep an eye on him tonight and tomorrow and call the vet if he starts vomiting again or if his fever is still high. My poor little pumpkin was such a trooper and was very good at the vet, I felt bad not giving him a treat after his appointment but I have to limit what he eats. Hopefully a good night sleep will fix him up. I’ll take any positive thoughts and vibes though!

I guess it’s a good thing I’m not planning on going on vacation any more, Denny’s health is more important than a silly little celebration.

Second trip to the vet. Little Evie has been sick since coming home. First exam diagnosed a really bad UTI where her PH was at a 9 when it should be around 6-6.5, so we know that she’s had it for a while, and we’re lucky to have caught it hopefully before it goes to her kidneys. She also had a parasite that we treated her for and an ongoing cough. It’s scary because she can’t get her puppy vaccines because of how sick she is. She came from a rescue that I’ve adopted from in the past, and they seem to be ignoring all attempts to contact them regarding their negligence about how sick she is. At this point, we have to start over on her vaccines that were started with the rescue. Thankfully my other two dogs are vaccinated (due now for a couple boosters, but they are also healthy and can handle whatever Evie has).
