Inspired by seeing a jackass take on someone else's blog/on anon, because we feel like it'd be rude to hijack someone else's ask (and also because we think this is very true to some of our experiences):
We use DarlID/DarlingID terms in the context of we have some in-system yandere-darling retionships. Consider it more of a Consensual ForcedID/ConForced ID.
SibID and FriId/FriendID is similar when in our own headspace, but a little looser. Even if it was "headcanoning other people" thought crimes aren't actual crimes.
TLDR, we use these types of IDs from the perspective of the subject, it's like the inverse of how someone could be (cis)autochorisromantic.

watching Tower Heist (2011) and blessings unto the crew and cast but its fucking terrible--lots of cringe ball and vagina jokes in unforunate brooklyn accents, disassociated acting, racial and gendered stereotyping, they made poor gabourey sibide pretend to be jamaican. just truly atrocious writing. but its a fucking amazing premise! an ensemble cast works at a hotel where an evil investor jacks their pensions so they plan a revenge heist. in the hotel!
like. why do studios have to remake amazing classic movies. the classics are already great? the movies i want remakes of are the slipslop fuck ups with interesting ideas. this movie could be fucking amazing. why are execs sitting on actual good ideas? it hurts.

Growing up dark skinned and plus sized, I learn pretty quickly what black men thought of me. And it wasn't good lol. I used to get called Precious as an insult. It's crazy seeing black men flip out over Gabby's relationship after they how treated her that like she was the most unattractive thing for years.

Philip’s Dream Factory
“Africa Inside” Noorderlicht Photofestival 2000
Ghanaian Philip Kwame Apagya has an interesting and contemporary take on the traditional West African portraiture. Next to the stylish and classic black and white portraits of Sibide and Kaita, Philip almost reminds me of an African version of Terry Richardson with his use of bright colours and heavy flash.
Philip was born in Ghana in 1958 and graduated in photojournalism at the Ghana Institute of Journalism. He worked in his father’s photo studio and later opened his own studio in 1982.  Since then hundreds of Africans have had their picture taken against one of his large, painted tableaux. His subjects pose in front of brightly painted scenes dotted with expensive electronics, international flights and faux careers (just to name a few). The Room Divider is his most popular background, it’s a living room filled with desirable products. Every year Philip brings out a new one incorporating the latest technical equipment.
These pictures are more than just eye candy, there is a sociological aspect to them as well. In Africa, a photo studio is a place where your dreams can come true for a moment, being portrayed is a way to achieve immortality. Philip portrayed these people with the things they desire the most in life. The photographs represent how these people would like to see themselves and looking at them in that way these colourful portraits may also be regarded as being representative for a certain era in the Ghanaian society. The images also emphasise how the unavailability of commodities merely heightens their appeal.
Philip’s photographs started some discussions in the Western world about what they tell us about the consumerism of the modern African people. In the end I don’t think Philip’s work is too politically driven, what he wants to do is give these people their dreams. Just for a minute, but for eternity on the picture. In a way he created a dream factory in his studio.

Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire - Mommy Dearest
We have a tendency around this house, to let some of the best movies from our Netflix mailer envelopes sit and gather dust on the shelf for a ridiculously long time, and then, when we finally do get around to watching them, kick ourselves for letting it wait so long. This was another one of those. One of those movies you hear about, and you think; "I really should see this, it sounds good", but its hard to get in the mood for something that has the potential for being really depressing.
Precious is a 16 year old girl from the bronx, pregnant with her second child by her own father, illiterate and trapped in a hellhole with her abusive mother. A "white bitch from school" tries to reach out on her behalf and signs her up for a special alternative school, where she meets a caring and compassionate teacher who helps turn her life around (a little bit). Despite the ultra sad and degrading story (and I've only told the half of it), the movie is actually quite hopeful and always entertaining, thanks to some powerful performances, and really innovative direction by Lee Daniels (really looking forward to his next movie). I especially loved the 'daydreams', and really liked the part where the Sophia Loren film 'Two Women' (which is being watched on television) morphs into the two female leads, speaking their usual crude abusive dialog in Italian.
And the oscar winning performance by Mo'Nique is absolutely chilling, and she compares with some of filmdom's great 'horror moms' right up there with Angela Lansbury in 'Manchurian Candidate' or Faye Dunaway in 'Mommie Dearest'.
OMG - that was Mariah Carey as the social worker?? I didn't even recognize her -- she was fantastic too. Oh dear, and Lenny Kravitz as 'Nurse John', another shocker.
double feature with: Sounder, The Miracle Worker,
4 stars out of 5
Released 2009, First Viewing May 2010
