Purity!
Tumblr media
Shoutout to like one of my first OCs literally ever being Purity the Sheltie! Well decided sometime last year to revive her, then decided a month or two ago I'd finesse her design to something I like! So here she is, my girl! <3
She's a meteorologist who started livestreaming when Dr. Eggman would attack with his Badniks. With the help of various weather radar and camera sites around the continent, she was able to start helping folks have a pretty good idea of where the Badniks would come next.
Something something, story details I haven't decided on yet, and eventually she makes it into the Restoration doing the exact same thing for them on a much bigger scale!
She's fun! I like her :D
Some more doodles+ some of the oldest pieces I have on hand of her under the cut!
Tumblr media
Purity is not Maria in the slightest but I always thought it was funny that they're so similar by complete accident. Mostly because when I made Purity, I was designing her after myself. And I happen to have blond hair and blue eyes and, at the time of first making Purity, my hair was kinda long WHEEZE. Just funny coincidence nothing more
Tumblr media
The redesign I made about a year ago now!
Tumblr media
What I think is the first digital drawing I ever made of Purity
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plus a few more old pieces I made right up until I retired her, shortly after the last piece.
Purity was always meant to be a Sonic OC, her original story was that her necklace (a gift from her grandmother) had transported her via Chaos Control from earth as a normal human girl, to Mobius as well. A Mobian. And she had to learn how to live in this new world away from her family and friends.
I don't really jive with the story anymore for a variety of reasons including but not limited to Purity's necklace being inspired by an IRL necklace I had in fact gotten from my grandmom, who I now have a weird relationship with. But yk it is what it is. I'm really happy with the story I'm working up for Pure now, since I'm really just kinda being silly and having fun. Cringe is dead, I'm gonna make my silly little Sonic self insert and I am gonna make her interact with the canon characters because it's just fun! Who cares if it's 'weird' it's just fun!!
Anyway my girl <3

ppl who said Ryan was "too old" are about to be proved wrong by that box office $$$$$ he's about to rake in. he's hilarious and perfect for this role. and also gorgeous??? A TRUE BEAUTY KEN. "I saw a ken face down in the mud and texted Greta a pic with I must tell this man's tale" xD also there's never a person (until RECENTLY) saying the female actors aren't cast old enough (I'm not taking about Margo). The viral moment a little while ago was when Emmy Rossum was cast as Tom Holland's mom (and it's only because it's Tom hype it was noticed, I love him but still this has been happening since cinema has existed) she's only ten years older than him. That just happened in a Jessica Chastain movie like two years ago and no one said anything. My neices were watching a utube soap and I kid you not the "mom" was the SAME AGE. It's every movie; every show. I'm so happy Halle was cast as Ariel - appropriate age!!! I understand productions cast older teens/young adults rather than kids because then they can cut corners with union rights/demands like kids needing more breaks and parents on sets and like... basic human decency. also shows like R!verdale have teens sleeping together every weeek and sexy shots yada yada that actual teens WOULD NOT be permitted to do in filming (thank god they have intimacy coordinators now FINALLY). I forget who pointed it out, but you never see a news woman with grey hair. On a man it's distinguished on a woman it's ugly or she's a crone. I'll watch movies where they cast a 30 something woman and make her 50 by graying her hair. Like wtf? Anytime I'm watching a high school scene with a friend I say "none of those people are high schoolers". I'm an actor who's repeatedly told I AM LUCKY MY FACE LOOKS YOUNGER THAN I AM. This is going to last me about what 3 years? 2? I was just basically let go from a gig because FB feedback on photos were I looked "too old" for a character and it was because our boss was casting TEENAGERS illegally so yeah, of course I'm going to look about 80 years old (at 31) next to a 13 year old. She said "we're going to cast you as older roles" yeah we NEVER get requests for those. I wonder why. Okay, sorry for the rant... These reasons are why I'm so happy for Ryan. Prove the haters wrong and hopefully more light is shed on this too old/too young/ageism issue as a whole. Perfect moments and the movie hasn't even come out: THE JUST KEN SONG I DIDN'T KNOW WOULD HAPPEN JUST DROPPED?!
Tumblr media
He thought of the KEN underwear!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he's not afraid to poke fun at himself, wear pink a whole movie and funny outfits and dye his hair - so many "action movie" macho men actors would NEVER. this is the same guy from Blade Runner, Drive, The Gray Man (lol for their shoutout to his Ken)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the tassel shaking, "I'll need clicky pen", the changing scenery and outfits montage, rock paper scissors, crossing his fingers when he asks barbie if he can come over xD EVERY MOMENT IS PERFECT.
yeah, sadly ageism is always gonna be a thing with hollywood and especially for women.
i don’t care how old ryan is, he is PERFECT in this role and that’s just judging from the few clips and trailers released. i love seeing all the early reviews saying this will be the role he is remembered for and he steals every scene he’s in 👏👏👏 i’m so excited to see the movie, especially for ryan !!!

Unveiling the Truth Behind Business and Politics: A Journey with Ryan Alford
Hey Tumblr fam! 👋
If you’re into no-BS business talk, then you need to check out the latest episode of "Right About Now with Ryan Alford." As always, Ryan and his crew are bringing the heat with discussions that blend business, politics, and a good dose of reality. 🌍
📅 August 24, 2024 – This week’s episode is packed with everything from TV show recs to deep dives into the current state of the economy. Ryan, despite being under the weather, is back in the studio with his trusty co-hosts, Brian Hall and Chris Hansen, ready to dissect the week’s biggest stories.
TV Talk and Southern Charm
Ryan kicks off the episode with a shoutout to "Out of Range," a show that was like Yellowstone but with a sci-fi twist. He’s pretty bummed that it got canceled after just two seasons—just when he was getting into it! 🎥
On the flip side, Brian shares her excitement about moving to Greenville, South Carolina. She’s officially a local now, having left the high costs of California behind. Welcome to the South, y’all! 🌳
Chris, meanwhile, is holding down the fort in Miami, where the Democratic National Convention is stirring up all kinds of emotions. The crew dives into a convo about how the DNC’s focus on feelings might be giving them an edge over the more fact-driven Republicans. It’s an eye-opener on how emotions play a huge role in politics. 🎭
Layoffs and the Reality of Business Today
But it’s not all TV and politics. The team gets serious about the wave of layoffs hitting major companies like General Motors, Cisco, and Intel. Thousands of jobs are being cut, and AI is partly to blame. Ryan and the gang discuss how businesses are getting leaner at the expense of real people losing their livelihoods. 😔
There’s also a candid chat about the disconnect between what we’re told about the economy and what’s really happening. Ryan isn’t afraid to call out the media for their bias and questions why we’re not seeing more positive news if things are supposedly going so well. 🤔
When Politics Meets Business
The conversation naturally veers into the messy intersection of politics and business. The team talks about the impeachment buzz around Biden, the controversies with his son, and how the media shapes our perceptions. It’s a raw and unfiltered take that makes you think twice about what you’re hearing in the news. 📰
Ryan also shares some personal experiences from his marketing agency, highlighting how rising costs are squeezing profit margins. It’s a reminder that no matter what industry you’re in, the challenges are real, and the struggle is universal. 💼
The Lighter Side: Worst States to Live In?
In a fun twist, the crew discusses an article listing the worst states to live in, with South Carolina making the list. Ryan’s not having it, though, and defends his home state with pride. 💪
Wrapping Up with a Laugh
The episode winds down with a story about Disney Plus and a legal case that’s a bit of a head-scratcher. It’s a reminder to always read the fine print—because you never know what you might be signing away! 📜
And of course, Ryan gives a big shoutout to Brandon Bills, the official merchandise sponsor of the podcast. If you’re looking for some top-notch branded gear, you know where to go! 👕
Join the Conversation
Catch the full episode on RyanisRight.com and don’t forget to follow us for more updates. Let’s keep the convo going—because there’s always more to talk about in the world of business and beyond.

LOVE IT!
Tumblr media
I woke up early this morning, before 6 am. Work stuff, kid’s sick, whatever. But then I couldn’t really get back to sleep. So I headed out to the bathroom, and on the way, I thought I’d check and see if I landed the New York Football Giants Defense and Special Teams unit that I’d put a waiver wire claim on the night before. Turned on my computer, and guess what? I did land those NY Football Giants![1]
But then I saw something else. And that something else is truly a top 5 moment for me this season. Ladies and Gentlemen, the Matt Ryan Week Seven OMFG Bidding War:
Tumblr media
Ironically this all happened about 24 hours before the Moved On From Matt Ryan Bowl between Dan Romans and myself kicks off. As I am sure everyone remembers, I traded Michael Carter, RB for the Jets, for Matt Ryan after week 1.[2] But then I signed the Other Prince Who Was Promised Kenny Pickett ahead of Week 5, which caused me to bench Matt Ryan. And then I watched the Colts play the Broncos on TNF and saw the Corpse formally known as Matt Ryan actually play a football game. Frankly watching a Matt Ryan that I had just benched was one of the prouder moments I’ve had this year, because Matt Ryan looked like the worse QB in the league. He threw 0 TDs, 2 picks, got sacked 6 times, and fumbled twice. So I dropped Matt Ryan.
But then Matt Ryan dropped 31 points week 6. He was 42/58(!) for 389 yards and had 3 TDs and no interceptions last week against the Jags.[3]
The waiver wire is tough.[4] And QBs are scarce. Listen, the Mighty Boom started Skylar Thompson last week in a disaster. And the Falcons QB room makes Ian look like he’s a serial killer collecting the worst QBs in the NFL: He’s got Mac Jones, Cooper Rush and Justin Fields. He’s previously started Baker Mayfield, so Matty Ice would have been a big get for Ian. And you gotta play one QB, you kind of got to play two, right?
But Matt Ryan? I only really listen to one fantasy football podcast. And when they talked about streaming QBs this week, they mentioned Matt Ryan’s Jags line. And they said to pay no attention to that line, because they’ve seen Matt Ryan play football just like I have. It doesn’t mean anything.
Good luck Boom. Anyways, here are some things on Amazon I found that are much better uses for $569:[5]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[1] I need the Giants because the steady eddy D/St unit I’d signed a few weeks before (Fly Mighty Eagles Fly) are on a bye this week. I really like this Eagles unit and I really really don’t want to drop them. It’s always a struggle to fill out the bottom of your lineup, your TE, D, and K, and I think I’ve finally got the Jesus’s bottom all figured out: Ertz, Eagles & Buttkicker. But that puts me in IR roster hell. If James Connor (currently on IR and now officially questionable) is healthy, he’s gotta go in my starting 10 because BOTH Cooper Kupp and Justin Jefferson are on bye, and my only other two rostered wideouts (SHOUTOUT BERRIOS) are kind of emergency staring this week. James Connor is playing Thursday, along with Jameis Winston, also on my roster, maybe playing probably not but also probably not “out.” If Conner is ruled out before TNF I’m good, I can keep him in the IR, and move the Giants to the starting 10. But if he’s a go, I gotta both play him and cut somebody else. The decision gets much more difficult if Jameis is a go too and he starts. (Last week he was healthy enough to be a back-up a-la Teddy Two Gloves? WTF). Anyways, IR bye week stuff, amirite? Keep your eyes on my roster for updates to this ever-developing situation.
[2] BTW still kinda think I might of won that trade. Dano started Carter week 2, he score 10 points, but Carter hasn’t started for Dano since (scoring 5.6, 4.9, 17.3 on the bench). Meanwhile Breece Hall is the clear front runner in the Jets backfield. Matt Ryan started 3 games for me before getting dropped, and two of those starts were fairly effective: 17.5 in week 3 and 21.4 in week 4. He score 3 point fucking 8 points for me week 3. But if Carter never sees the field again for Dan, then I’m still counting this trade as a win for me.
[3] Another reason I went for the Giants, they’re playing the Jags, who finally look like a real Jags team.
[4] I paid over $200 for Taysom Hill (verses absolutely no one it turns out) only to cut him a week after, but then he goes off again, so Odouls pays over $400 for him, starts him, and he scores 4 points. Taysom Hill is a tough nut to crack.
[5] Dan signing Andy Dalton for free this morning as a free agent was the best move of the last 12 hours. There is, what, a better than even chance Andy Dalton scores more points than Matt Ryan this week?

Erik Johnson - baby series
summary: Erik takes you to introduce your son to his teammates, and you can’t help but feel all the love in the world.
word count: 1.2k
hockey baby series masterlist / masterlist
note from the writer: shoutout to the lovely @burkymakar for not only giving me this adorable idea but also throwing me back into my EJ feels. (and picking the name)
“How soon do you think I can put him in skates?” Your husband asked, and you had a hard time stopping yourself from rolling your eyes. You knew he was joking, if the way he was grinning dumbly down at you in his typical fashion told you anything.
“He’s two weeks old, Johnson.” You sighed, smiling down at the carseat carrier your newborn was sleeping peacefully in. The faintest tufts of blonde hair peeked out from underneath the Avalanche hat you had put on him, and you knew that if he opened his eyes they’d be as blue as his father’s.
Erik had practice today, and decided it was the best time for you to introduce his little boy to the rest of the team. Gabe, of course, had already been sent dozens of photos and Sam met him over FaceTime a few nights ago.
“Everyone decent in there?” He called as he knocked on the locker room door, waiting for confirmation before pushing it open and leading you in. The sound woke up your baby, but surprisingly he didn't cry. You had made sure that he was fed and changed before leaving the house in preparation for this moment.
As soon as you were in the room, most of the guys crowded around you and Erik, peaking into the carrier your husband was holding tightly to be met with the bright blue eyes of your son.
“Let me see ‘em.” Tyson cooed, rushing over to you first. You giggled at his eagerness, unstrapping your baby and cradling him into your chest as the group slowly grew bigger around you. Erik placed a hand around your waist, and you’re pretty sure you heard Nate make a joke about how you were the perfect little family. You knew without a doubt that if Erik hadn't been so enamored by the smile on his son’s face, he would’ve made a comment about how Nate was just jealous.
“What’s his name?” Ryan asked, and you couldn't tear your gaze from your son as you answered.
“Robert Gabriel Johnson. Robbie, for short.”
The name hung in the air for a moment, a few of the guys ‘aw’-ing because they’re hockey players, and chirping is what they do, but Gabe, who had been in the process of extending a hand to stroke Robbie’s cheek, froze mid-reach.
“You serious, man?” Gabe questioned, looking at Erik like he hadn't told him that you were considering using his name—which you had been sure to mention at least once. Your husband nodded, toothless grin on full display as the two blondes hugged. Once they separated, Gabe turned to face you but his gaze was firmly on Robbie. “Can I hold him?” You nodded, shifting the baby over to his awaiting arms.
“Hey, EJ, what’s it like to finally have more teeth than someone?” Sam asked, grinning wide. The energy in the room was palpable—everyone was in a good mood.
“Oh, ha-ha. Very funny, Sammy.” Erik responded in a deadpan, but he was grinning in the very same way he had been for the past two weeks Robbie had been in your lives. Even on the late nights, the look of pure adoration and love never seemed to leave his face.
A few of the guys dispersed to finish getting ready for practice, but Cale, Tyson, Andre, and Mikko stuck around to tickle Robbie’s stomach from where he was still cradled in Gabe’s arms. Erik pressed a kiss to the side of your head before getting himself ready, considering he had shown up late. Someone bumped your hip, and you looked to see JT standing beside you, a small smile on his face as he watched his teammates fuss over the newborn.
“Look them, they’re children.” He nodded his head to Tyson, Cale, Andre, and Mikko, all four making faces just to see Robbie smile. You laughed, hip-checking the usually stoic redhead back.
“You know, you’re the same age as them, right?” You teased, JT’s only response was to shush you with a grin, before sticking his tongue out at Robbie and heading to his own stall. You shook your head at him, but were quickly distracted by Gabe handing Robbie back over. “Hi, sweetie.” You cooed, rocking him slightly. “Ready to go home?”
“Don’t leave without giving daddy a kiss.” Erik called, earning hoots and cheers from his teammates but only an eye roll from you, fighting your grin with all you had.
“Watch it, mister. Or you might not be getting anything from me.” You teased, but nonetheless complying when Erik leaned down to give you a sweet kiss, him repeating the action on Robbie’s forehead.
“Nah, you’re stuck with me now. Married and a baby. I’ve got you for life.” He joked, earning a chuckle. You felt anything but trapped in your relationship with Erik, and you were pretty sure you were the only one that could put up with the sheer chaos that entailed day to day life with him. But you wouldn't have it any other way.
“See you at home, Erik.” You shook your head at him, strapping Robbie back into his carrier. “And have fun at practice, boys.”
“Thanks, mom.” Andre called as you were exiting the locker room, chuckling to yourself as you trekked down the familiar halls of the stadium.
When Erik got home later that day, you and Robbie greeted him at the door. The smile on his face was wide and intoxicating, and it showed you just how much his little family meant to him.
“I could get used to this.” He mumbled against your lips, dropping his hockey bag at the door and making grabby-hands for his son. Usually, you’d chastise him for leaving his stuff in the entryway, but he looked so excited to hold his son that you letting it go and complied, handing him over.
You followed them into the living room, and not once did Erik take his eyes off of Robbie. You grinned, heart swelling as you heard him muttering to him about how practice went, and you were pretty sure you heard him say something along the lines of ‘uncle Gabe kept chirping me about how smiley you make me’ which made you absolutely melt. The sheer amount of love your husband shared with both you and his son was something you were certain you’d never take for granted.
“You know, you never answered my question from earlier.” Erik said to you, cradling Robbie and sinking into the couch as. His statement brought you back to reality, and the sight warmed you from your head to your toes, but even that wasn't enough to distract you from the mischievous grin on your husband’s face.
“And what was that?” You questioned, one brow raising as you tucked one leg underneath yourself and sat beside him, leaning into his side to admire your sleeping son.
“When can I put him on the ice? I want him skating laps around Landy before he can talk.”

The Pocky Game ( 13th Doctor X Reader )
Prompt: Yaz, your wingman, has a list of ideas to get you together with the Doctor. The Doctor stumbles upon it and is quite eager to try a certain one Requested by: my own gay self
A/N Surprise I’m not dead i’ve just got TWO multichapters going and this hit me out of no where. Shoutout to the ‘Thirsting for 13′ GC for helping me with ideas.
Words: 1.6k
Tumblr media
It was an abnormally quiet day in the TARDIS. The companions had been sent home so the Doctor and you could do some much-needed repairs- “The doctor and you” meaning she was doing the repairs and you were handing her tools and talking into thin air. She was on her back, digging upwards into the console with her tongue between her lips. You were rambling about what might happen if a Silence and a weeping angel were in the same room together, but your attention was all dedicated to her.
You were far from ashamed to admit how hot her current look was. Even the dorky steampunk goggles that hid her stunning eyes from view seemed like a gift from the gods to you personally. Briefly, you wondered what would happen if you leaned over and kissed her senseless right then and there. Would she push you away? Or would she pull you in for more, forgetting about everything else she was doing? God.
Your phone pinged. You only ever used it to contact the companions, so you were 33% sure who it was. Yaz’s name flashed across the screen along with the text:
How’s it going?
It ended with at least five winking emojis, and you shook your head, chuckling. Yaz was more than aware of your crush on your fellow timelord, a result of many impromptu rants. Since the first time you’d freaked out and accidentally let slip how much you adored the way her face scrunched up and you really wished she’d stop for your sanity's sake, Yaz had become your wing-man.
It’s going, You texted back. She’s messing with the TARDIS, not doing much else.
Boring
Trust me, I know.
I’ve got some ideas i’ve put together
DON’T LAUGH very serious business going on here.
A few minutes later your phone pinged again and you opened the link she’d sent you. It was a google document of all things, and you raised a brow when you saw that all three companions were currently editing it. They must’ve realized you had arrived, because Ryan and Graham quickly logged off. The document contained three separate lists, all ideas for getting you and the Doctor together.
“What're you smiling at?”
You yelped and jumped back, hitting your head on the console with a loud thud. You dropped your phone so you could rub at your head, groaning in pain. The Doctor tsked and cupped your head, grabbing your phone for you.
“It’s just-” you hissed again, trying to think of an excuse. “It's.. a list of fun games?”
“OOOO!” She cried. She flung her goggles off her head and her face scrunched up excitedly. She turned your phone over, scrolling through the document. Heart pounding, you lunged forward to rip it out of her hands. She looked offended, eyebrows raised in confusion. “What’s the ‘Pocky Game’, then?”
You shrugged, trying to pretend like everything was normal. Inside, however, your nerves were on fire and you needed to get away from her to offset the urge to give her the biggest smooch in the universe.
“Not sure… I’m off to take a shower, see you soon!” Clutching your phone to your chest like she’d rediscover the companions plans, you scampered down the hall. Behind you, the Doctor curiously stood up off the floor and brought up a computer screen to begin her research.
_______________
When you were calmed down, you made your way to the library for some light reading. You weren’t surprised to see the Doctor on one of the couch, but your curiosity peaked when you saw that there was no book in her hand. She was sitting criss-cross, a red box in her lap.
“Doctor?” You asked softly. She turned and your heart soared at the excited look in her eyes. Someone call the shadow proclamation, you thought to yourself I’m pretty sure it’s illegal for her to be this cute.
She patted the couch beside her, opening the box in your lap. The label read ‘pocky’ the foodstuff Yaz had mentioned in the document. You plopped down on the cushion, folding your hands in your lap.
“I’ve done some research” She whispered excitedly. She opened the inner package and pulled out one of the “Pockys” . It was a long wafer stick, the majority of which was covered in chocolate. “Seems fun.”
“The Pocky game? What do you do”
“You get a friend, you being my friend” You hoped your wince wasn’t obvious. “And one person holds the Pocky in their mouth at the end, and the other holds on to the other end with their mouth”
You froze. She… she wanted you to hold that in your mouth? While she held the other end of it?
“Here lets try '' She placed the chocolate end in between her lips, and your breath hitched as she cupped your face, bringing you towards it. You hesitantly took the other end into your mouth, facing warming at the closeness. You could feel her breath on your skin, soft and warm. It sent your mind into a whirlwind You didn’t want to talk with food in your mouth. Apparently the Doctor didn’t mind.
“Both of us bite down, until it's almost gone, and whoever pulls away first loses” To showcase her point, she bit down on the snack, bringing her face significantly close to yours. You gasped in surprise, and she watched you expectantly.
Slowly, you took your bite, heart beating out of your chest as the two of you grew closer still. You took your turns rather quickly and you were overwhelmed by how fast you were approaching her lips. Two more bites and you could easily press your own against them, fulfilling a dream that plagued your mind for far too long. You took a bite.
Millimeters away. She waited a moment before swiftly taking her bite, and for a moment you thought she really was going to snog you senseless. Then, your end of the pocky fell out of your mouth and she jumped back, arms shooting into the air.
“YES! I won!” She cheered. You stared at her in disbelief, your lips still in position for a kiss. How- How could she do all that and not kiss me?
“Rematch” You demanded.
“Oh, I don’t know Y/N” She teased, waving another pocky in the air. “I think I’ve just begun a winning streak”
You groaned and pulled her hand towards you, shoving the end of the wafer into your mouth to begin the second game. No way was she getting away this time. Unfortunately for you, she’d been right in claiming that her winning streak was just beginning. She won the second game, then the third, then the fourth, and so on until you were nearly steaming from the ears. You could swear she was tugging on the pocky to make you lose.
The last pocky was pulled out of the package, and you were determined to seal the deal. Your bites weren’t slow anymore. The two of you quickly sawed through it. You nearly lunged forward with each bite, lips tingling as if they were magnetically attracted to hers. You needed them, badly.
Just when you were about to claim them, she tugged. She honest-to-god tugged. You groaned in frustration, pulling back and flopping back into the couch with your head in your  hands. She was laughing, celebrating her win.
You felt like punching the couch beneath you. How was she that cute and oblivious? She seemed to notice your frustration and sat closer to you.
“Y/N?” She asked. She pried your hands from your face, peering down at you with soft eyes. “I can get another box, if you want to try again.”
You looked at her hands, which were still holding yours. She really was ridiculous, wasn’t she? Fuck it.
You used your joined hands to pull her downward, smashing your lips against hers. She grunted in surprise and for a moment she was so tense you almost cut the kiss off to apologize. But then she was towering over you, leaning in with all her weight.
The position was a little awkward, but being able to finally kiss her like you’d always wanted to made up for anything and everything that had ever inconvenienced you. Your lips met again and again as if every second they were separated was a second wasted.
“Damn your competitiveness” You whispered against her lips. “Do you know how long I’ve wanted to kiss you?”
She blushed and you fiddled with the sleeves of her shirt.
“That list of games… Yaz created it so I could finally get together with you.”
“Yeah?” She whispered excitedly. You grinned; she looked like a kid that had just opened a Christmas present. “We don’t need games for that… you can kiss me anytime you’d like”
You blinked at her tone. It was like she was pointing out something obvious that only you didn’t know. Part of you felt irritated; she was always acting so oblivious and goofy and here she was, telling you that you could’ve been kissing on her all this time?
“Doctor.” You grumbled. She nodded, leaning in closer. “I’d like to kiss you now.”
Her lips were back on yours before you’d even finished the sentence.

Mom’s Trip
Tumblr media
The trade deadline is stressing me out. That’s it. That’s the reason for this. i have no idea how long it is or why it is or, really, what it is except using Rangers-provided content as fic inspiration. Special shoutout to @shireness-says and @eleveneitherway for both being like, “yes, make it Regina” when I was talking about this. Also, guys, please acknowledge that I turned the six on Mrs. Skjei’s jersey to a zero.
Or: Ryan Strome’s mom told Artemi Panarin to get her kid the puck and my brain was like THAT’S A BLUE LINE THING. And then Mika’s mom wanted to hug her kid and my brain was like, SERIOUSLY, BLUE LINE.
----
“Dad! Dad! Mom! Ma—c’mon are you actually here and just ignoring me?”
Emma glanced up from the computer in front of her, a paper-covered desk and plans for an event she was only marginally interested in. She heard the footsteps coming down the hall — more like a brisk jog, really, and that couldn’t have been good for his right thigh.
He’d blocked a shot the night before.
“Hey,” Matt said, almost out of breath when he skidded to a stop in the open doorway to Emma’s office. “Did you not hear me?”
“People across the entire island of Manhattan heard you.”
“Oh, wow. Scathing from the get, huh?”
“How’s your leg?”
Matt shrugged, a quiet noise in the back of his throat that only made Emma’s eyebrows pinch. “Ah, don’t do that, it’s—I’m fine…I mean, we won, right?”
“Sometimes it genuinely concerns me how much you are like your father.”
“Scathing to insulting in four seconds flat.”
“Were you not yelling for him too?” Emma asked, and she was ninety-six percent positive Matt hadn’t knocked. Not like he had to. In this house. The one he grew up in. With enough empty rooms now that Emma could have an office.
Matt let his head loll to the side — a far too knowing expression that Emma did not appreciate at all. She was the mom. She was the adult.
She was—
Her computer dinged.
“Whatcha watching?”
“What did you say?” Emma countered. “Don’t do that? Don’t do that.”
“We’re going in circles here,” Matt muttered, crossing his feet at the ankles. Like he was trying to hit a BINGO card of all the things that made Emma feel vaguely maternal-type emotions. Her computer wouldn’t stop playing the video.
Or she wouldn’t stop playing the video.
Whatever, semantics.
“How many times have you watched it?” Matt pressed. He took a step into the room, arms crossed now and one eyebrow arched impossibly high. “Just—you know, like ballpark it for me.”
“What are you doing here, Mattie?”
“That’s not an answer. Also, this is my house.”
“You do not live here, Matthew David.”
He stopped walking. And the other eyebrow joined the first. Maybe Emma would just slide out of her chair and lay on the floor.
That would hurt her back, probably.
Getting old was stupid.
Being jealous of Regina was stupid.
“Ballpark,” Matt repeated.
“No.”
“What?”
“No,” Emma said again, slower that time like it would make her sound more responsible. Or, at least less insane. She felt a little insane.
She’d watched the video so many times already.
Elsa had sent her ten text messages about it.
Ruby had written a small novel.
Mostly exclamation points.
Matt’s lips twitched, rocking back on his heels with wide eyes and genetically enhanced eyebrows. He didn’t get anything from her eyebrows.
“Yuh huh,” he drawled. “I’m going to guess somewhere in the twenty range, but that’s only because I can still hear it on auto-play and—“
“—The Flyers website is not as good as ours,” Emma interrupted. “It just keeps looping. So my viewing numbers are probably all skewed.”
“You know you can hit pause, right?”
“In theory.”
Matt laughed, crossing the rest of the space and perching on the edge of Emma’s desk. The video started again.
And, really, most of her reaction to the stupid thing was based almost entirely on surprise.
Because it wasn’t the first time Regina had gone on the mom’s trip with the Flyers.
Emma had gone with the Rangers — decked in head to toe blue and Matt’s jersey and Regina didn’t look great in orange, but no one really looked great in orange.
It was a thing.
A hockey tradition, even.
Except now the tradition included viral videos, apparently, pinned to the top of every Philadelphia Flyers social media page — Regina standing in the middle of the visitor’s locker room in Columbus with Mills-Locksley emblazoned across her back and the Flyers lineup in her hand.
She called out every name, all enthusiasm and a smile on her face as soon as she glanced Roland’s direction.
And when she turned towards the Flyers’ starting center.
Demanding he get Roland the puck.
Emma’s eyes flickered back towards her computer. The best part of the whole video might have been Roland’s noticeably pink cheeks.
Or, the way his head dropped to his gloves.
That was Ariel’s favorite part.
So half a dozen text messages Emma hadn’t answered yet proclaimed.
“I didn’t know Gina had it in her, honestly, Matt said. “The sweet is—“
“—Oh, I’m going to tell her you said that.”
“Please don’t. I need my endorsements.”
Emma wasn’t sure what noise she made at that, but she resolutely refused to take responsibility for it, reaching out to rest a hand on her kid’s leg. He grinned.
“You might have some competition for those endorsements,” Emma said. “I bet in between scoring demands and—“
“—Rol did score. The group chat was very quick to point that out while he was whining about getting interviewed because of his mom.”
“What a rough life you children lead.”
“It does get a little aggressive, though,” Matt continued, “Get him the puck! Get him the puck! She’s got a lot of thoughts about Rol’s scoring potential, don’t you think?”
“Eh. She’s got reason to be confident. Legacy and all that.”
“You honestly think she’s working endorsement deals for Flyers guys?” Matt asked. “Isn’t that a conflict of interest?”
“Any moment without trying to make connections is a moment wasted as far as Regina Mills-Locklsey is concerned.”
“Oh, I’m going to tell her you said that! Then she won’t have time to be annoyed by all the gifs I keep sending Rol.”
Emma clicked her tongue. “Stop teasing him.”
“I’m not teasing, I’m mercilessly making fun. Get him the puck! Get him the puck!”
“Got to shoot to score.”
“Top-tier cliche.”
“Mmhm. That’s definitely my MO.”
Matt’s eyes narrowed, mouth twisting slightly when his hand landed on Emma’s. “Why do you keep watching it?”
“Rubes has watched it more than me.”
“That’s because she wants to analyze the hits and the long-term reach of one thirty second video clip. Is Dad even home right now?”
“No,” Emma shook her head. “Did he tell you to come here?”
“Yuh huh. Why would you think that is? Exactly.”
She couldn’t keep clicking her tongue. She was going to sprain it.
Matt practically beamed.
“Maybe I’ll challenge him to a shoot-off or something,” he mumbled. “Interfering like this. Got to put the old man back in his place.”
“You’re really throwing out insults, aren’t you?”
“He planned this.”
“What did he tell you to get you here?”
“That he had film I needed to watch. Which is just—I’m sure he’s very pleased with his lie and ploy and—“
“—Good word,” Emma grumbled.
“I also think it’s nice you think it’s nice that Gina demanded one of Rol’s teammate set him up. And, I uh—“ Matt shrugged, a lopsided grin tugging at the end of his mouth. “You don’t need to go all retweet to get me to come over here, you know. Or tell me shoot. On the mom’s trip or otherwise.”
“Good to know. And your dad and I are going to talk about not-so-subtle plans later. Taking advantage of my mom-type feelings and—“
There were more footsteps.
Emma rolled her eyes, Matt’s laugh bouncing off the walls of her office and making it difficult to hear Regina’s voice coming out of the shitty computer speakers.
Killian tossed his feet at the ankles when he leaned against the open doorway.
“Hey, Matt,” he said. “What are you doing here?”
Matt groaned. “You’re not funny.”
“No other people on the ice during our shootout?”
“Do you not remember how shootouts work?”
“Grounded,” Emma said at the same time Killian did. Matt’s head fell to his shoulder.
“I was already reminded I don’t live here,” he argued. “And Dad should probably get in trouble before me, anyway. Lack of tact or a good plan or—“
“—I told you I had video you needed to watch,” Killian interrupted. “Where was the lie in that?”
“You think you’re very smart, don’t you?”
“Let your mom read the lineup on the next trip.”
“Is that my call?”
“Make it your call.”
“Please don’t mention that to Ruby,” Emma grumbled. “It will consume her every thought if she even starts thinking about the impressions.”
“Good word,” Matt echoed.
She flicked his side.
His eyebrows jumped.
And Killian looked very proud of himself.
“Something to think about, at least,” he said, across the office in a few, quicks steps and Emma tilted her head up on instinct so he could press his lips to hers.
Matt sighed. “Awesome, awesome, awesome. Is there food here?”
“You and your brother have got to learn how to feed yourself,” Emma muttered, but she was already standing up and Matt was already jogging back down the hallway and there was far too much food in the kitchen.
And she never did get around to telling Killian where he could stick his plans or his interference, clicking off the Flyers’ website eventually because there was a trip to get ready for three weeks later.
They didn’t reach viral status — a fact Ruby would probably never let Emma live down — because she didn’t actually read the starters, but she did—
“Matt,” another mom grinned after finishing the lineup. “Your mom wants to give you a hug.”
He laughed.
The locker room laughed.
Emma…kind of ran.
The arms that wrapped around her were a little tighter than she expected, but that only made the space around her heart clench a little bit, her chin hooking over Matt’s shoulder pads when he kissed her on the cheek.
“Try and score, huh?” she asked.
“I’ll see what I can do.”
He did. Twice.
Which Emma made sure to mention in the slightly more adult, if even less mature group chat. Several times. Possibly a dozen times.
That night.

kinda late but if you still want to do the nancy drew asks 10, 16, 17, 18, 20, 98, 117 & 119!
you spoil me :D dont ever stop please lol
10. Who’s your favorite reoccurring character (Carson Drew, Joe Hardy, Frank Hardy, Ned Nickerson, Bess Marvin, George Fayne, or Hannah Gruen)? Why?
this is hard bc i like frank and joe BOTH so much. they are hilarious. frank is all like calm and collected most of the time but he obviously has a huge crush on nancy and i find that very amusing just bc of how flustered he gets about it. and joe? joe is just the best. what can i say about joe. he speaks for himself. hes hilarious. ‘it’s a language, not a museum. tear down the velvet ropes standing in the way of your wordmagination’ comes to mind as a great example of that. and he and frank combined are just even funnier. i quote: ‘i get your drift, joe. i have lived with your drift for years. i am saddled with your drift.’ the hardy boys said sibling rights and they said it loud
16. What’s your favorite Nancy Drew video game? Why?
this is a mean question. i like all the ones from 23 to 29. they are so good. i especially love shadow at the water’s edge and ghost of thornton hall because they scare the shit out of me. also they are very sad and the story is compelling and i love the characters. shoutout to yumi and harper for being like, the actual best. the deadly device is awesome too bc its one of the only two games with a murder in it and i love murder mysteries. also it has ryan who is another big favorite. i love her and i love her gummy bears. shes so fun. captive curse fun, kinda scary, great characters. silent spy is the same but not scary it’s just cool. i love spy stuff. i dont know what my favorite is of those. they are all my favorites
17. What’s your least favorite Nancy Drew video game? Why?
i don’t like ransom of the seven ships because i think it is boring compared to a lot of the others. it has a few good moments(re: the culprit) but it takes so long to get to those and it doesn’t feel worth it half the time. creature of kapu cave is also low on the list because it is very repetitive, it’s not as bad though. i actually like midnight in salem though i think it works better as a stand alone game than as a nancy drew game.
18. What Nancy Drew video game could you play over and over again? Why?
i mean, u know, all of them? but especially the stretch from 23 to 29 as well as some of the early games like curse of blackmoor manor or last train to blue moon canyon… legend of the crystal skull and phantom of venice… i like the scarier ones. last train to blue moon canyon isn’t very scary tho despite being billed as like, a haunted train. its just fun. so many pipe puzzles and i will never get tired of jake’s gem machine thing. that was awesome.
phantom of venice also isn’t very scary but i love it. i love like everything about it. also i like to sit with enrico tazza and play scopa for hours on end. i think it’s a great way to spend my time. (i win. always.)
20. What Nancy Drew game do you feel has the best storyline? Why?
okay this is gonna show my bias but i think shadow at the water’s edge… i mean the tragedy of what happened to kasumi and the rift between the family members… the hidden will… the ghost stuff… superb. fantastic
captive curse also has a really great one. ghost of thornton hall too though some of the details don’t match up timeline wise, get it together herinteractive. deadly device… alibi in ashes… okay we just came back to ‘23 through 29 are the best, so sue me’ but i really think HER was at the top of their game (haha) there because like… holy shit they’re all so awesome. i haven’t mentioned tomb of the lost queen bc it’s my least favorite of those games but it’s pretty good too, just doesn’t stand out in comparison to the others you know?
98. What got you into Nancy Drew?
well i don’t remember what got me into nancy drew originally! i’ve been told i was reading those books since i was like, five, which i can believe. i know that i got into the games because one of my friends saw my book collection and was like u know there are computer games. i have a couple of them. we can play them if you want and i was like o_O and, well, the rest is history
117. What’s your favorite thing about Nancy Drew as a character?
she’s so badass! i love that she’s like, not afraid to be feminine but also just kicks ass on a regular basis. and she’s smart, but she knows that she needs to rely on her friends and does so. overall she’s iconic and i really looked up to her as a kid and i kinda still do lol
119. What’s your absolute favorite character (not Nancy, Carson, Hannah, Bess, George, Joe, or Frank) from any of the video games?
oh oh that’s hard. ummmm i love ryan and yumi and mel but i think my overall favorite is harper. i mean i can relate to how it feels to be sort of ‘separated’ from your family due to mental health issues… caused by trauma… caused by a member of your family. i like to think i’m dealing with it somewhat better than harper but also i have access to like, therapy and stuff, whereas she got tossed in a glorified asylum. so… yeah! anyway theres a reason i have a quote from her in my blog description and its not because i dont like her haha
thank you this was so fun waaaaah

[ad_1] The probability tree that grows out of teen stardom can be a gnarly one, but Joe Jonas—former boy band heartthrob, current man band (?) heartthrob slash well-heeled man-about-town—seems to have found himself a good branch. Joe and his wife, actress Sophie Turner, are expecting their second child. He’s got new music on the horizon with his non-Brothers band, DNCE. And of late, he’s leaning hard into what we’ll call the Dimes Square look: a post-everything, irony-dipped mix of 70s, 90s, and early aughts fashion.NEW YORK, NY - MAY 03: Joe Jonas and wife Sophie Turner are seen walking in soho on May 3, 2022 in New York City. (Photo by Raymond Hall/GC Images)Raymond HallOne day, he’s strolling around in a pair of perfect blue jeans, a walnut-brown work jacket, and a cheeky Joe’s Diner tee (shoutout Lee, Massachusetts!); then, he’s in a knit Emily Dawn Long bucket hat, moto jacket, and studded carpenter pants. Indeed, the man is a pants virtuoso, sporting a seemingly endless supply of just-embellished-enough denim: snug vintage pairs, double-knees galore. Add in some vaguely greaser-style hair and tinted Odessa 1919 shades, and he’s good to go.In fact, according to Sophie, Joe might even be trying too hard: “He surprisingly puts in a little bit more effort than me,” Turner told Vogue last year. “He’s always embraced high fashion and dressing up. I thought it was psychotic how he would wear jeans during the pandemic, while we were just sitting at home. I was like, What kind of serial killer does that?”In that sense, Jonas, like actor Ryan Reynolds, is a good example of celebrity daytime dressing: what famous people wear when they’re dressed up for the street, not the red carpet. After all, the camera is always watching.NEW YORK, NEW YORK - MAY 06: Joe Jonas is seen in Manhattan on May 06, 2022 in New York City. (Photo by Robert Kamau/GC Images)Robert Kamau [ad_2] Source link

Shane Madej:
Muggle-Born
Slytherin
Favorite subjects: Care of Magical Creatures | Charms | Flying
Ryan Bergara:
Pure-Blood
Hufflepuff
Favorite subjects:  Muggle Studies | Divination | Quidditch
☆Shane met Ryan when he was buying his toad and Ryan’s owl almost ate his pet
☆They became friends on the train, Ryan was fascinated about Shane’s life in the muggle world. And the tallest wizard thought his new friend was overreacting about it  -Ryan, you have dragons and magic powers! But you still interested in my dad’s car?- -You are a wizard too shane. I don’t see dragons every single day, you travel a lot in that- c-car? it’s Amazing!.-
☆When they went to different houses, Ryan did feel a little bit insecure about their friendship. But when Shane sat next to him in the great hall he couldn’t help wheeze -This is not your house’s table- -And? A few guys over there smell terrible. Also, I don’t know anyone else here-
☆Shane status as a Slytherin was something he didn’t care at all, but Ryan on the other hand, always stood up for him when someone said  something rude “Shane is an excellent wizard, way better than all of you”
☆Ryan’s favorite subject is easy to guess; muggle studies. Some of his classmates decided to make fun of him inmediatly after knowing this. But their plan ended up being a complete fail, Shane was always near Ryan, sharing meals or studying in the library. And trying to fight an almost 6ft tall guy at the age of 15 is not the best idea
shoutout to my fav shaniac @wheezingmadej his art is amazing! you should check it out

Five years on
I tried to make this coherent, but it didn’t work. What follows are some thoughts on five years of insomnia.
Five years ago, Chelsea was unfamiliar to me. Having arrived for college in New York less than a year earlier, I hadn't ventured much further west than Union Square. When I first attended Sleep No More on March 1, 2013, I went as part of a group with my residence hall. I barely paid attention to how we arrived at the nondescript building, so when I later went to the show by myself (you can read about my spiraling addiction here), I got lost the first few times, confused by the missing block of 27th, more than once walking confidently down an avenue only to find that I was walking away from my destination.
Now, Chelsea is one of the neighborhoods I probably know best. I have strolled its streets in all weather, watching fancy highrises spring up. I have sat for hours in its coffee shops before shows — those first few years working on class assignments and, later, job applications. It is the neighborhood where I have a bagel place, a ramen place, a fancy dinner place, a late-night french fry place, and of course, our beloved Manderley, our Cheers.
In the last five years, the McKittrick Hotel has come to mean so much more than just the show. Drinks at the Lodge on Sunday afternoons, only a handful of patrons enjoying a lazy day, waiting for the Follies to begin. Monthly Supercinema parties which we all moaned about when they first started, but thoroughly enjoyed each time, as we gathered together to dance month after month. Celebratory brunches at Gallow Green on hot summer days. Welcoming in the New Year under a shower of confetti. And long chats with friends in Manderley, as more and more lights come on and Tony keeps coming around, "10 minutes," "Five minutes," "...Guys...."
Before this, I had never been part of a fandom. I barely knew what fandoms were. I had always been someone who rewatched television shows, listened to albums or individual songs on repeat, reread and reread favorite books, but I never delved deeper. Then I found this crazy community. I am so grateful for what we have here. So many of the relationships I have formed through this show have become friendships that will long outlast the final hanging.
I love this show so deeply. Even as with each contract I feel a little piece of my heart break, and I think, “maybe, this time, I’m really done with the show,” I find new, exciting things that keep me coming back. (And shoutout to the residents who continue to be magical year after year: Marissa, Ryan, Virginia, etc.)
Just this past week, I found myself in the ballroom, new faces twirling around, feeling sad about the loss of some of my favorite witches, when I went up five flights of stairs to the hospital wing, where I stumbled upon a Nurse (Audrey) whose loop I found thoroughly compelling. It is so early in the contract, and she is already really developing a character and killing the dances (her limb dance, in particular, was stunning — follow her!).
I know a lot of people assume that the show is filling some void in my life. But I feel the pull to go when my life is in a really good place, just as I find myself on the Ovation website when I am in a sad phase. Sometimes I go for stress relief, and sometimes it’s to celebrate a milestone. I go when I'm happily single, when I'm unhappily single, and when I'm dating. For me, the show is not fulfilling, it is enriching.
I often wonder what will come first — the day where I stop going or the day when we all truly can never go back to Manderley again.
But we won’t think too much about that right now.
Let’s keep dancing.
