Being autistic, relatively poor and not the most technical person, while living in one of the most “new phone tech” obsessed countries in the world, can sometimes be... a struggle. Because I don’t have the money to just get a new phone on a whim and I detest shopping on credit, because it will be more expensive in the end and also encourage me to buy stuff I don’t need and/or can afford. My autism means that getting used to new things is stressful. A new phone isn’t something that makes me feel happy or excited - it makes me feel anxious, because my main use for a smartphone, is the apps that literally helps me handle my disabilities. So while I understand people snigger a bit at my “ancient” phone that works perfectly fine and why the shop staff looks at me like I’ve been in a choma for ten years, I also want to say this: Something is AWFULLY WRONG with a society where the strive to get everyday tech stuff available and cheap enough for people with low income, I fucking DETEST the way it makes people handle their phones recklessly and just getting a new one on a whim, on credit, of course, because for some reason, that’s normal now. To buy an expensive fucking phone with a monthly pay off plan to high interest just because you want the latest model. Meaning the market for the cheaper and more stable phones are dying out. How is this supposed to work alongside with “lets live more sustainable” and the outrage over cheap clothing lines? I fucking LIKE being able to repair, fix and use my stuff for as long as possible, not only because it’s less stressful and more cheap, but also as a plain FUCK YOU to the whole consumption culture and the fact that companies rely on people treating their tech and clothes like garbage so they can buy new. You know what the best lifehacks are when it comes to stuff you own is? 1. Treat It With Care regardless of how cheap it was. 2. Learn all the tricks to repair it when necessary. 3. Use it until you can’t. 4. If it still works, it doesn’t. Need. To. Be. REPLACED!!!

I thought ''be considered X where I live'' would make the most sense since 'tallness' or etc. is sort of #subjective to the people around you or your specific culture/area/etc. And if I just said ''I'm tall'' or ''I'm short'' then #the response might be 'well how do I define whether I'm tall or not?'' or etc. But then most people could probably look #at the people around them in daily life they interact with and compare based on that to get a more literal idea or something #..ANYWAY.. lol.. as usual just thought of some random thing and was like.. hrmm... i wonder what the most common #feeling about that would be.#personally I'm not even short but I just want to be really really tall... like... 7 feet tall or something. In a fantasy world type of way #of course. so like a super tall elf creature.
