The Iranian visual artist Shirin Abedinirad (1986) places nature at the center of her research. After a period dedicated entirely to performances, staged throughout Iran - in which she addressed dense themes such as gender issues, sexuality and human compassion - today Shirin dedicates herself fully to Land art.

Evocation

L’artista affronta uno tra i più grossi problemi dell’abitare nel deserto: la mancanza di acqua. Questa installazione utilizza il potere riflettente dello specchio per portare delle dissetanti piscine di “acqua” nella sabbia. È l’ultimo miraggio nel deserto: a primo colpo gli specchi circolari, parzialmente coperti nell’oro della sabbia, sembrano piccoli stagni. Solo in un secondo momento realizziamo che, in effetti, è il cielo, riflesso sulle dune.

“Evocation” è un’installazione posta nel deserto dell’Iran Centrale di Shirin Abedinirad (2013).
