It's been raining for 2 straight days here on Sherkin Island and that's put me in the mood to finally delve into horror gaming with Signalis, which I've been eyeing for months because I love the PS1 aesthetic and the sapphics.

Overseas travel from Ireland is discouraged at the moment but domestic travel has opened up so I hopped on a ferry for some island-hopping which felt like an ‘overseas’ escape! First stop was Sherkin Island, which has been on my wish list for so many years... #travel #Ireland #Cork #CountyCork #WestCork #SherkinIsland #Sherkin #staycation #island #sea #islandhopping #ferry #Atlantic #WildAtlanticWay #makeabreakforit #traveldeeper #natgeo #guardiantravelsnaps #bbctravel #travelphoto (at Sherkin Island) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDXABMhBQXY/?igshid=12wlfbjggrtdj

Sherkin Island - Co.Cork
Going through some older photos while editing my print portfolio (and maybe some prints to sell!!) and came across this. It hasn’t made the cut but just thought I’d upload it as not thrown anything up in a while! I’m also gathering some personal references ready for some pastel studies (hence the clouds being drawn out by the nth degree here!)
This kind of work is usually more requested for commercial travel stuff. I’m not that keen on the over-saturated ‘HD’ kinda look any more but it still has appeal for travel companies so will get work from it now and then.
I still miss Ireland, glad I got the opportunity to go back there last year for my birthday, still have a lot of good friends over there.

Sherkin Lighthouse
One of the most interesting and strangest structures in the village of Baltimre is definitely the Baltimore Beacon. The beacon serves as a marker or navigational aid for sailors. These days it is more of a tourist attraction and it is one of the main reasons to explore the village of Baltimore. The view from the Baltimore Beacon was surprisingly good. The wind was picking up so I couldn't stay that long. However, from this perch, you can see quite a lot of the area, it is not surprising that they picked this spot to build the Baltimore Beacon.
