not 2 be cheesy but i love finding beauty in things lwk …. like a few years ago i wouldn’t have cared that much about like a drainage canal and now its like one of the coolest places in the world to me . looking out the window in the car is infinitely more interesting when u take the time to notice like… design choices . counting the amount of horses u see on signs ,,,, naming cloud types ,,, i love learning things it makes everything so much more beautiful

I completely forgot live was today, what's the cliffnotes? What's the deets on the pale garden? How does New Guy work?

Hi! Cliff Notes are:

New biome: The Pale Garden!

> Overworld dense forest biome > Features a brand new wood type called “pale oak” and it’s basically white wood :D and the “growth-style” of pale oaks mimic dark oaks, so there’s a lot of wood per tree > The canopy of the biome is thicker than a normal forest, the grass type is really desaturated, and it’s very graveyard-esque— they’re definitely going for an empty, vacant, spooky “something is wrong here” vibe. > New foliage! Hanging moss and Pale Moss Carpet (that, when placed next to vertical blocks, put little vines growing up the side of walls and stuff) > It’s safe during the day, but at Night the new mob can spawn, and there are new ambient sounds (creaking, crunching, very horror-esque sounds).

New Mob: The Creaking!

> They only spawn at night > They work like Weeping Angels— they’re completely still when you’re looking at them, and they scramble towards you as soon as you look away. > They deal relatively low damage, but damage can add up when there are multiple ganging up on the player > They do not take damage at all, but are instead linked to nearby “Creaking Hearts,” which are special-texture wood blocks nestled in the trunks of nearby trees. When you destroy/mine the Creaking Hearts, The Creeking mob will shatter, so they’re more like puppets. So this is a whole new way to manipulate/defeat this hostile mob :D > You can silk touch the Creaking Hearts, meaning you can place them down again and spawn a Creaking.

In my personal opinion it was really discouraging to see how negative the comments section was after genuinely enjoying the live/video (They had a cute animated section to tease the reveal of the new mob that I thought was really cute too, I couldn’t stop smiling), and I do think there are some small things that could be added to make the new biome a little more immersive or unique (new leaf textures, new tree-growth-style, a new flower type, fog, particle effects, things like that that could enhance the atmosphere!), but I honestly think this is all really exciting and it gives a lot of life to the Minecraft world-building/ecosystem :3

(In other news, they added hardcore to bedrock, gave some insights on the minecraft movie set building, and did a cool little community-feature pre-show. After the reveals above, they did an after-show where they went more in depth on all of the new blocks!)

Jacob saying the Normandy is shepard's real love. Please shut up. Shepard fits many clichés, but she's not the ship-obsessed weirdo of the series. That's joker. Nevermind!!!! that I don't think we ever see Shepard mooning over the Normandy, but the people inside? That's another thing! Shepard loves and is loyal to people, ideas, and morals. Not things.

Hell, I'd buy it if he had said that the fight is shepards real love. That's believable. The Normandy is just a means to an end.

It’s a big testament to nats character as well - above all she does care, no matter how harsh she comes off. in these private settings like the attic scene or the bathtub scene her demeanor completely changes - her voice is soft and comforting and above all understanding because she’s been there too. and when it’s just two whispered voices in the dark she feels safe enough to let down her walls to comfort someone else and just rghhhh…. lottienat.

that scene where natalie wakes up from a nightmare and tries to comfort lottie when she realizes shes staring at the attic is...... so so important to me.

she couldve so easily just rolled over and pretended she didnt see anything. lottie wasnt facing her, she didnt know nat was woke up or saw her. she couldve kept to herself, calmed herself down from her nightmare, and tried to get some better sleep.

but she didnt. she has a brief moment of confusion and apprehension, like shes creeped out or something. but then she realizes its lottie, and calls out to her. when lottie doesnt respond, natalie, again, could have just like. sighed and rolled over and let it go. but instead she crawls over to her, looking just.. so fucking concerned and sad for lottie. her little 'hey...' as she gets closer, so lottie can know she's there. the reassurance that the body is gone, hes buried. a way of letting her know that she has nothing to be anxious about, theyre safe- even if nat herself doesn't believe they'd be in danger bc of a corpse.

natalie just knows all too well what its like to be scared of something, or someone, thats not there anymore. and even as she wakes up struggling with that very thing, she recognizes it in lottie, too, and just wants to quell it and comfort her

no you’re SO right bc tai and shauna were literally set up beefing - in the pilot they were fighting at the party over tai fucking up Allies leg

and then over their time in the wilderness we see them getting closer and closer - shauna sleeps with tai in the attic where both jackie and van wouldn’t follow. tais the first person to know shauna is pregnant. THAT tai and shauna scene in the forest . etc etc etc

and as adults we see them still have that closeness. in the first scene at the diner it’s specifically in the script shauna puts her hand on tais. what does this mean!!! also they gossip togetehr they talk they’re clearly friends when their precrash teen versions were so different (but also similar!!!!)

and both of them act so self righteous as adults - exactly like you said „as if they aren’t succumbing to it” because they’re like lottie? omg send her to the mental hospital… Tai KILLED her dog on some weird ass sacrificial altar!!! shauna is haunted by the ghost of her codependent homoerotic best friend!! they are both so fucked up!! they belong in the mental institution right with lottie!! but from the outisde they are also the two who look like they have their shit together.

they’re so unlikely but also it works so well and more people need to talk about their friendship
