Danny got out.
Danyal al Ghul was created by the League of Assassins alongside his brother Damian.
Created, not born. Though they were both grown in the same lab, Danyal always felt the status quo. Damian was the heir, the real son, the one they cared about. Damian got to be a person, the one for whom human terms like “born” would fit.
Danyal was just the extra. The bodyguard to die in his brother’s place and a spare should he be lost.
And Danyal died.
Shed his old life like a snake’s skin and vanished into the bustle of a crowded city.
They would tell Damian it was a mission that went wrong. A failure, like Danyal always was.
But Danyal would call it his first real success.
Danny Fenton loves their new life.
Jack and Maddie, for all their unsafe work practices, care for them. That’s far more than their blood “family” in the League ever did.
Far more than they felt they deserved for the longest time.
So when their brother reached out, tried to reconnect as if they were normal siblings instead of born tools, is it any wonder they lashed out, told him to never come back?
Danny got out. Danyal is dead, one ghost Danny is happy to put down forever.

can you believe that Wymack heard Kayleigh say Kevin wasn’t his, pop out with a baby in exactly nine months and then saw that same boy on television a decade later, same black hair as his, same complexion, bone structure, height, and literally just went “damn crazy coincidence, what could have been… anyway”

actually I also wanna talk about the part where Percy convinces Bob to kill Hyperion because even though Percy never says anything outright sinister, the way he handles the entire situation with such cool ease, playing on Bob’s emotions... its so insane???
Because Annabeth’s reaction to the three of them encountering Hyperion reforming is: “oh this is bad we need to get out of here” She knows if Bob remembers himself, that it's not going to play out well for Percy and her. She also thinks about how they're being pursued and don't have a lot of time. Her solution to the problem, seemingly, is to leave.
But Percy's solution is to work the situation to his advantage. He re-affirms Bob's loyalty to him:
Tumblr media
Percy then re-establishes Bob's moral code: "Some monsters are good. Some are bad. This Titan is bad. He tried to kill me and a lot of people. He's not good like you are."
And it ends with Percy leaving the choice of whatever to do with Hyperion to Bob but of course, is it really what Bob chose to do? Bob decides to kill Hyperion. It's not what he may have done, if Percy hadn't intervened. But it's exactly what Percy was oh-so-sweetly leading Bob to do.
And listen, I'm not claiming that it was exactly morally bankrupt of Percy to take advantage of a once-evil titan who could get him and his girlfriend through hell in one piece. Percy, Annabeth, they manipulate monsters and enemies all the time. Annabeth ended the previous book with manipulating Arachne into weaving her own web. So it's not exactly like she's against using manipulative tactics, in theory.
But Bob, at this point, is not just some monster. He is so painfully sincere in his belief in Percy and their friendship, so yes, it does feel a bit sinister whenever Percy uses Bob... and he really uses Bob.
And I think what makes the scene so unsettling, it isn't just that Percy manipulated Bob, its how well Percy manipulated him. He manipulates Bob so well that Percy doesn't even have to kill Hyperion... because Bob does it for him. He manipulates Bob so well, that Annabeth couldn't tell if Percy was purposefully trying to manipulate the situation. (Newsflash, he most definitely was). Like holy shit.

Eddie posts a Tiktok of Steve and Nancy walking in the woods on a hike like:
POV: You’re hiking in the woods with your hard of heading partners
And then the camera flips around to Eddie and Robin, out of breath and struggling like “guys, can we take a break?” and “let’s slow down, please?” and “Guys, please, I’m going to die.”

one of the things that feels so clear on rereads but so many people miss the first time they read the way of kings is shallans PTSD. I think part of it is the way it gets overshadowed by the constant unending tragedy of kaladin's story, its easy to slot shallan in as the young naive rich girl and not look much deeper. Part of it also is the way shallan drastically understates her own trauma. she says that she's timid, she doesn't like confrontation, she talks about her father's temper, but she was the lucky one because it was never directed at her. There are so many things in her first few chapters alone that are textbook PTSD, the way she freezes and shuts down any thought process that gets too close to her father's death, the flashback when jasnah gets angry at her, how she dissociates when she draws. It's so obvious if you know what you're looking for, but just subtle enough, especially when it's compared to kaladin's trauma, that a lot of people miss it at first. anyway I would defend shallan davar with my life.

do you ever think that the reason hotch is so willing to accept affection from garcia when he isn’t from the rest of the team is at least partially because receiving affection from garcia doesn’t force him to admit he is a person worthy of affection. because garcia is just Like That. when other people show affection towards him he bristles because he believes deep down that he is a bad person unworthy of love, but when garcia shows him affection, he can justify to himself that garcia is only affectionate towards him because she’s affectionate to everyone, not because he’s particularly deserving. weirdly, he accepts it because he can reject it. haha. i do.

when u point out Dany having the power of god x3 to destroy any city she doesn't like might be a bad thing and probably won't be rewarded by the narrative
targies: noooo it will be fine because Dany would NEVER do that she's just too fundamentally GOOD to ever be corrupted by unlimited power 🙃 source: trust me bro
apparently the theme of asoiaf is absolute power is good, actually, we just need to make sure the *right* people have it 😇

morgana and arthur have a sleepover when they’re teenagers and morgana brings out this summoning spell and arthur is all “magic?!?!?! :o thats wrong we cant do that” and morgana just says “pussy.” and then arthur is helping her set everything up. they light the candles and chant in the old tongue and then BOOM a figure appears but it’s not the mighty god emrys the text talked of, it’s just a boy a couple of years younger than arthur, scared and confused, who answers to the name merlin rather than emrys. while they’re arguing, merlin goes stiff and is like “do you hear that?” and then trails out of morgana’s chambers in a trance and obviously morgana and arthur follow him and they end up way beneath the castle where theres a fucking dragon???? now emrys, the once and future king, and the witch are chillin w a dragon and talking about destiny. none of them are happy about this btw

Alright before I go and start my essay I need to get this off my mind.
Mizu and Archer!reader where they're staying in an inn or brothel and they both sense someone coming to attack them but before Mizu can draw her blade and go for the kill reader leaps at her, pinning her down to the floor, straddling her lap and whispering "Don't, I think they carry guns." but before she can argue back and object, saying she's perfectly capable of dealing with it reader draws her bow and arrow, fully concentrated, ignoring her and STILL STRADDLING HER.
Mizu just gawking at her, eyes wide, mouth slightly open in shock. Girl doesn't even know if she should be insulted or thankful you're thinking about her safety. She definitely feels her stomach doing a flip. Her hands instinctively placed on reader’s hips.
Poor woman is loosing her marbles. Reader releases the arrow and a grunt is heard, followed by a body falling to the floor a few seconds later.
When they go to inspect the body she's just starring in shock because how the fuck did you manage to strike a fatal blow like then when you couldn't even see through the screen? Mizu is well aware of your talent in archery but goddamn woman, what kind of sorcery is this? She's impressed and maybe slightly aroused.
Yeah.... I think I need professional help.
