When I heard "Brother By Kodaline", they pop up in my mind. I HAD to make a dedicated edit of these, messy, Deadly Duo. I personally think, when I started making this edit, they can go either way, romantically or platonically (you decide what you see in them, really). But, we can all agree, regardless what you see in them, THEY'RE ONE OF THE MOST MESSISEST RELATIONSHIPS IN THE SHOW! Started out as friends, then unfortunately had a falling out. And little by little, years has pasted, have developed resentment over each other, but deep down somewhere, they still care and love each other, despite the other feels and the other has gone through.

MAN, THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS INTERSTING!!!

(SO Sorry, if the edit seems abit rushed (because it was), especially the second verse... My original plan to make this edit was include the entire song, except the second verse. But I did have ideas for the second verse, just not all of it- Literally all I did mostly for the second verse is throwing something at the wall, and see if it sticks- Also, I'm in collage, and some of my creative process for the edit was stumped because I was worried about the upcoming assignments, while making this... But I told myself to finish this first, so I can do my assignments later on, and take a break from editing until assignments are all finished. I will still be abit active here, just focusing on college more! 👍)

Shakes initially notices you during team meetings or training sessions. Your confident demeanor and ability to keep the team organized immediately catch his attention.

As Coach’s right hand, you’re instrumental in planning strategies, coordinating schedules, and analyzing opponents. Shakes finds himself impressed by your knowledge of the game and the way you explain tactics to the players, including him.

At first, his interactions with you are casual and professional. However, he starts looking forward to those moments when you walk over to discuss a play or give feedback. There’s something about the way you speak—calm, confident, and encouraging—that makes his heart skip a beat.

Shakes begins noticing the little things about you—how you always have a kind word for everyone, the way you scrunch your nose when thinking deeply, or how you always stay late to ensure everything runs smoothly. It’s these small moments that make him realize you’re different.

One day, you casually check in on him after a tough practice session, offering words of encouragement and a snack to boost his energy. It’s such a simple act, but it warms his heart and makes him see you in a new light.

While playing a crucial match, Shakes hears your voice from the sidelines, cheering him on and giving him tactical advice. He feels an extra surge of confidence, realizing that your belief in him means more than he thought.

Shakes starts putting in extra effort during training and games, hoping to impress you with his skills. He’s not overly showy but subtly tries to stand out when you’re around.

He begins asking for your input more often, whether it’s about a new move he’s trying or how he performed in a match. He values your perspective and loves the one-on-one conversations that come with it.

After a particularly big win, Shakes finds you alone, reviewing some notes on the sidelines. The adrenaline from the game gives him the courage to finally speak up.

He’s slightly nervous but earnest in his confession, telling you how much he admires you—not just for your skills, but for the person you are.

“Uh… hey! Y/N!” he called out, his voice cracking slightly. He cleared his throat as he jogged over, his hands shoved awkwardly into his pockets. You looked up, a small smile tugging at your lips. “Hey, Shakes. Great game today. That last goal was incredible.” He rubbed the back of his neck, suddenly feeling like a rookie instead of one of the team’s star players. “Thanks. Uh, yeah, about that… Well, not just that! I mean, um…” He let out a nervous laugh, running a hand through his hair. You raised an eyebrow, tilting your head in amusement. “Is everything okay?” “Yeah, totally! Everything’s great. Amazing, actually,” he blurted, shifting from one foot to the other. “I just, uh, I wanted to say something. Something important. Well, maybe not that important. No, wait—it is important. Definitely important.” Your curiosity piqued, you set your clipboard down. “Alright, Shakes. What’s on your mind?” He took a deep breath, his words tumbling out in a rush. “So, like, you’re just… really amazing, you know? Not just at, like, being Coach’s right hand or keeping the team organized or, um, yelling strategies at us—but also, like, you as a person. You’re kind, and smart, and—you always bring snacks! Not that I’m into you just because of snacks, that’d be weird—oh man, I’m totally messing this up.” You couldn’t help but laugh softly, your heart warming at his obvious nerves. “Shakes, take a breath.” He stopped, looking at you sheepishly. “Right. A breath. Okay.” He inhaled deeply and exhaled before meeting your gaze, his brown eyes earnest despite the blush creeping up his face. “What I’m trying to say is… I like you. Like, really like you. And I’ve probably liked you for a while, but I’m just now realizing it because, well, I’m kinda slow sometimes when it comes to stuff like this. But, uh… yeah. That’s it. I like you.”

Whether you’re surprised or had a feeling about his feelings, your response will be met with his signature Shakes grin, the weight of his emotions finally lifted.

Good day Supa Strikas fandom 😊

So, I had an interesting dream and in that dream I may have given shakes a better love interest than the show has canonically given him.

Her name is Kyuko, she's black and her hair is in locs with some colour extensions (I'm not sure that's the correct term), the colours are red, light blue, and blond.

Kyuyo is the little sister of Zora, a basketball player who everyone assumes is Shakes' actual crush.

Zora is also black, she has hair that's a mix of 4a, 4b, and 4c, and she's super chill.

Zora is aware of Kyuko's (very much reciprocated) crush on Shakes, while she herself only sees him as a friend (and that is never meant to change).

I might write a fanfic about them.

For reference:

Kyuko's hair, but mix in the colours

Zora's hair (maybe a little bigger)

Hair is relevant because I can't draw but if I ever write the fanfic I don't wanna get into too many details so I just give you a sense of what they look like.

Now I just need to better build their characters.

🎆HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR 2025 TO EVERYONE WHO CELEBRATES IT!! :D🎆

Here's Xing and Shakes (who is mostly trying-) Lion Dancing!! :D This artwork was meant to post on 29th January, but of course, time wasn't on my side- So Hopefully two days late is still acceptable to post this- (Apologies for the photo quality as well-💀)

Also, here's another interesting fact, this was not meant to be a Supa Strikas fanart, it was meant to be an illustration for my Mentor, who does celebrate Chinese New Years, which to display for the occasion. My mentor told me we didn't want a complex sketch/illustration, just something simple. So the sketch was scrapped. But I liked it too much to sit on my sketch book, so I decided to make a Supa Strikas Fanart, dedicated towards the celebration. :)

As somebody who doesn't celebrate the occasion or does Lion Dance, I tried my best on my research to be as accurate as possible with it. To the outfits Lion Dancers wear, to the color scheme, to the design of the lion itself. Again, this was a scrap sketch, and my original idea was people lion dancing since it's well know to lion dance in Chinese New Year, as well as weddings (if I'm not mistaken), and other celebrations. That being said, who is very much isn't raised with the cultural, I can very much make many mistakes and misinterpreted the culture. For that, I will forwardly apologies if there are mistakes I've made or never caught on when making the artwork. I appreciated if anyone who IS familiar with the culture would correct me if there are errors to be corrected! And I will update on this post! 👍

DISCLAIMER: That being said about errors- The only mistake I notice I made is Xing holding the Lion Mouth when lion dancing. Yeahhhh... NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO DO IT- 😭😭 The correct way to do it actually is hold it's head from the INSIDE, not it's mouth. I notice this when I was almost finished coloring- 💀That's VERY MUCH MY BAD on my part-

Relationship with Shakes (again)

He's constantly thinking of you

And likes to make it obvious to you how loyal he is.

things i think about too often because I'm fucking twenty serious law student and i shouldn't be fixated on some cringe kids' cartoon:

we all know that dancing rasta is the father figure of the team and how like @c28hunter mentioned in one of their posts, he could just blackmail the whole team if he only wanted to.

he's the father figure. when it comes to other players, he's more fun. when it comes to shakes who is around twelve years younger, he is more serious and toned.

jomo died when shakes was just a child. rasta was at the very beginning of his football career and jomo probably was his first coach. years later, he started to suspect that his life is in a danger. right before he died, he almost begged dancing rasta to take care of his son, shakes.

when jomo died in a car accident, rasta kept his promise and started seeing shakes regularly. it didn't mattered shakes was small. over time, he began to treat him like a second father.

in literally every season you can see dancing rasta get shakes out of trouble. brutal foul? rasta is always here to help. personal issues? just call rasta. in s04e41 (?) you can see the fear on shakes' face when rasta had amnesia due to hypothermia. you can see the fear on his face, when he didn't recognized him. shakes was frightened.

this episode shows the capitan - player relationship, yes, but also father - son relationship. rasta was always worried about shakes and this time shakes was scared because what if rasta die? what if he won't wake up? what If he won't remember shakes? who will guide him through life? who will have his back? who's gonna be there if he fall and there'll be no rasta?

I'm so tired of people shipping them. yeah, they definitely love each other but not in a romantic way. shakes loves him like a father because rasta was here longer than jomo and rasta loves shakes because he feels responsible for him. because he promised jomo to look after his son, forever and always.
