The images in this volume are but one aspect. The poetry, interviews, quotes, history, background pieces and graphic design all weave together to convey the texture of the experience of Cape Town's shack dwellers. Using only available light, Craig Fraser left the interiors unstyled to capture their "true beauty". But more striking is the dignity to be found in the dusty streets of South Africa's shack-lands. While these people obviously don't take pleasure in the poverty in which they live, they stand proud in the face of it. These are people who are doing the best they can with the little they have and, in the process, coming up with something aesthetically unique and fresh to offer the world.

I have this stupid headcanon that Ford got his hips, knees and lower back reinforced whilst he was dimension hopping to help him stay capable at moving around as he got older (we all know those are the places with the most wear and tear as we age) and ngl I just know that shit comes in handy if you catch my drift ksksjsjsj

I imagine Ford to be a very passionate, thorough lover (he’s done plenty of research); partially just as an old romantic, but also out of a desperate need to serve because he wants you to feel good and because he gets off on knowing that you think he’s good at it. Even better if you tell him that the whole time….

He’s definitely the type to get weak at the knees for praise and worship.

when modernizing Batman villains (or any villains really), a lot of people go the revisionist route and say "what if they were actually just misunderstood?" And while this isn't a strictly invalid reading and it has the potential to be interesting, I find more often than no it's just a lazy shortcut to avoid having to do any real work, and it has the effect of flattening the characters out. I would much prefer to see these characters updated for a modern audience by reimagining them as the kind of villains that plague contemporary life. For example, I think the Riddler should be a Joe Rogan-esque podcast host.

I'd like to preface this by saying that this is not an attempt to be annoying about updates, but I want you to know that "a one room shack in the land of lightning" is legit one of my fave series you've ever posted, with one of the most interesting premises I've seen on Naruto fic period. I sometimes randomly catch myself daydreaming about what could possibly happen next on that verse. That's how fun I find that silly little au. I really really appreciate that you put it out in the world.

Oh, anon, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoy that fic series. That other people might also enjoy my fics is what keeps me from just mailing-list-ing them out to my own 2–5 (as relevant) fandom friends every time, haha.

The idea of Sakura, Itachi and Kisame all stuck together in the eponymous one room shack for a month really entertains me as both an enjoyer of complicated power dynamics and a badass!sakura fic enjoyer.

One day I will have a suitably separate and defined story figured out that will both suit me to write and suit the characters and situation developing there, and then I'll finally make a new instalment. I'm so glad to hear you enjoy it as it is, though.
