A thing happened…

I was thinking about how often I’ve seen people write that Agatha and Rio’s children would always be doomed because death can’t create life- yet we have seen Rio create life through flowers etc.

I take this, and the whole ‘I am the natural order of all things’ comment as being that. Rio embodies the continuum of life and death.

That led to thinking about if they would have had more children.

Then the thought of Agatha - having just discovered her fourth pregnancy- threatening to find a way to castrate Rio.

I was thinking about Rio having apprentices and then I remembered seven devils being used in one of the AAA trailers and…

Cue Lady Death and her Seven Little Devils.

They are named based on other old saints (like Nicholas) but we have a few cool saints in there too like the patron saints of magicians, witchcraft and death

I really need season 2 of Blue Eye Samurai to get the full Arcane treatment, not only so that it gets all the recognition and budget it deserves, but also so that we can get a BES S02 soundtrack with Mitski, Florence Welch, and Ethel Cain on it.

I need yall to listen to Seven Devils by florencemachine because that song just SPEAKS Batson family to me. I don’t know why, it just matches!

I mean the seven devils themselves are like the sins/enemies of man, plaguing the family throughout their lives with all that death and tragedy. And the lyrics about death go with it too, in my opinion. Like I said, death has always been a part of that family.

Another brilliant book I read this year, even from a genre I don't read often

The book plays in space with an empire fighting a war against a species, and there's also a rebellion in that empire, among them the woman supposed to be the heir of the emperor, but she rather kicks some butt. In the beginning, it's mostly a fun space opera with adventure, but it takes a drastic turn when the crown prince captures his sister and wants to use her to commit genocide...

Content warning for violence and said genocide

But there are queer characters \o/ A trans woman and a sapphic couple are the ones actively described as such in this book – there's a second instalment, more queer in there!

I love how the connections between the characters develop in this book. So if you want Star Wars but better really, this should be your pick 🤗
